I've been going to this optometrist location for years. Super convenient inside a LensCrafters in…read moreSouth Shore Plaza (across from the food court). I had an eye exam there in 2012 (new prescription and frames), 2016 (not enough change in my prescription so the doctor said my old glasses were fine), and 2022 (new glasses). I appreciate that the optometrist doesn't recommend buying new glasses when you don't need them. I also was not shamed for letting 10 years pass between eye exams. It was not an intentional wait, just didn't become a priority since my old glasses held up all this time and only recently did I start to get headaches which is usually my signal my prescription needs updating. Doctor was also reassuring that my optic nerves looked great. (I always ask because there's a disease that runs in my family that the first signs of can be optic nerve damage.) Pleasant surprise, my insurance covered the exam - no co-pay! I have Atnea which in my experience doesn't cover much.

They registered me but never told me that they did not accept my vision insurance, instead they did my eye exam and charged my health insurance as a medical exam. As a result, I had, not only, to pay a high co-pay but also extra money out of pocket. Not an honest service. No wonder why they've open slots for appointments all the time. Think before you go there.

Dr. San Clemente is great at her craft. With such a vivid personality, she makes every visit enjoyable, and makes sure all of her clients are provided with the best care. Dr. San Clemente takes the time to explain things to you, and to provide you with the best options. She also has a wide variety of different frames from multiple different brands, which are always fun to browse through, and to try out new, fun and funky styles. I've gotten many different frames from her, and am always greatly satisfied. Dr. San Clemente truly enjoys what she does, and genuinely cares about her clients. Every visit to her office has always been fun, helpful, and successful. I would, without a doubt, recommend her.

I went to Dr. San Clemente for an eye exam and contact lens fit and it has taken me a month to actually get contacts. The wait time for anything that is ordered is over a week and communication seems very poor. I was told I could simply walk in for a contact lens check but upon calling to verify on the day I wanted to go in, I was told there was no room for me, lengthening my experience further. The staff person I have dealt with is neither friendly nor helpful. The office itself is very shabby and run down. They do not make reminder phone calls for appointments and the hours are a little limited. The doctor herself is very knowledgeable and friendly enough, but due to the inconvenience and unfriendliness of the staff, I will not be going back.

I brought back a pair of glasses because they seemed wonky and the gentleman fixed them while I waited, they were improved but still wonky. I figured maybe it was me, maybe I wasn't giving my eyes a break while viewing a screen when I was supposed to so I kept using them. At my next eye appointment (I go somewhere else for medical reasons) I asked them to check and see if the glasses matched the prescription and they said they were way off, that because of astigmatism it's important that they be centered correctly. So, I called and asked for the owner to talk about the error in the glasses. She did not return my call for about a week and when she did she seemed really defensive saying that it is not possible that the glasses left there with a flaw. Then said that they had to special order the frames because I wanted old frames which I was very appreciative of and thanked her again for. She then said that it had been a year since I got the glasses to which I replied I think it's been 9 months but thinking, who cares, I wasn't asking her for anything. I was calling to let her know that the person working on the glasses may need some more training on centering glasses. And to order new glasses with the new prescription I just received (that I did Not expect free at this point but was hoping for a discount due to driving cross-eyed-ish for 9 months). She finally snapped "you'll need to bring those in." Obviously. I don't think I'll ever go back there, she obviously cares more about not being wrong than she cares about her customers.

I was seen within five minutes of my arrival, the newer services were explained to me which I really appreciated prior to going in to see the doctor, so I knew exactly what was going to happen, again the doctor was knowledgeable and informative and overall, she was really laid-back and supportive. The fact that it's very close to my house it's just a bonus. I would certainly recommend right after I told you to make sure you go ANNUALLY!
