One of my favorite go-to parks to visit when I want to connect with nature and get my steps in. Such a nice, peaceful park perfect for a stroll anytime of the day. Decorated with so many trees and activity going on with a nice trail to help clear your mind. Definitely recommend for your next walk, run, or picnic!

This park is so nice! I went here for the first time the last Sunday of April for Yoga in the Park. It was Beautiful. Quiet, so very peaceful. There were people walking their dogs on the leash. Kids playing in the grass, a group of people practicing martial arts on the basketball court. Some people were playing tennis and '. We did yoga amidst the trees. It was pretty breezy and there was quite a bit of pollen in the air,but my sneezes didn't stop me and my bf from having a great time. I really love this park and will definitely be back with my puppy.

By far, one of my favorite parks to walk/ jog at. One full circle around the park a about a mile radius (actually over a mile) which makes it easy for gaging your workout. The park is full of trees so it's often cooler on warm days which makes for great workouts on summer evenings or mornings. The trail is paved with dirt so it's easier on your joints and most people have their dogs leashed. Lastly, it's tucked away in a cute neighborhood on 12th avenue so most of the patrons are diverse and nice. I'm so happy that the warmer evenings are back because I plan to get some miles in at this park.

We've been walking more and hubby decided to drive over and walk the path here at Curtis Park today. It's a very nice park. There were a lot of people out walking and running, it's dog friendly so folks were walking their dogs and they were out in the park playing. It has a lot of shade from all the beautiful trees. There's basketball courts, tennis court, baseball field, and a playground for kids. We walked the path three times. It was a little over three miles. I love that they have trash cans around the path and even have little stations with plastic bags for dog poop. I think every park should have that. Hubby and I loved the scenery and was admiring the homes around discussing the landscaping and different styles. The only thing I didn't really like is the path is dirt and gravel instead of paved. Our shoes and the bottom of my pants were dusty and I was sneezing up a storm. Other than that it's a lovely family friendly park.

Curtis Park is one of those long stretches of park that distinguishes Sacramento's older neighborhoods. It's the perfect place for so many reasons, all of the outdoor variety. And it's an especially valuable place during the time of COVID-19, which is when I wrote this review. On a map, the park is long and thin and dwarfed by nearby Land Park, but in person this place is massive. It stretches about five or six long city blocks. On my visit, the place was teeming with outdoorsy activity, from families picnicking to a martial arts class to kids playing basketball. There are a lot of trees, which just enhance the beauty, but there are big open spaces at either end for playing fetch with the doggie or an impromptu game of football or soccer. You can tell the folks in the neighborhood love it as well considering all the runners, joggers and walkers circling the place. Totally kid, dog and, of course, person friendly. My only gripe is that I don't live closer!

Cute park that has wide open space, walking trail, playground, plenty of trees for shade and for those who like to watch the foliage. There was lots of dogs enjoying the park, from small to large breeds. It's a very enjoyable park for joggers, couples on dates, families with small children, dog walkers ect it's also close by the deli/market and cafe !

Curtis Park is absolutely my favorite park in downtown Sacramento. I think it's very understated. It's definitely not one of the ones you hear about a lot. On hot days there's plenty of shade to sit under. If you want the sun there is plenty of space to sit. During COVID-19 there is a ton of social distancing space. The park is deceptively long and very spacious. It's exactly a mile around if you're a runner. There is a gravel trail that goes around it and sneaks through it at certain points. You can also run or walk on the sidewalk that is next to it. The neighborhood is residential so it's nice and quiet and clean. Even when there are a lot of people I find this park very calming. The road that circles Park is very infrequently used. Sometimes I'll run in the street to avoid others during Covid. The charm of this park is both it's old trees and beautiful houses lining it. I've seen people use this park for various activities including sports, yoga, workout classes, memorials, picnics, etc. Highly recommend!

I adore living in Midtown, but Curtis Park is another neighborhood where I wouldn't mind living. You can find me here a good portion of the time, as it is home to my favorite person other than my cat and my mother. Curtis Park itself is a skinny oval shaped strip of grass, and the houses that border it are so lovely. I enjoy driving (or lyfting) through to gaze upon the many architectural styles. They even have a DIAGON Alley for gosh sakes. See photo. Quality establishments aplenty can be found in this neighborhood, including Track 7, Hideaway Grill & Bar, Pangaea, Gunther's Ice Cream, Dad's Kitchen, Taylor's Market & Kitchen, and Marie's Donuts will waft you to sugary sleep. McClatchy and Sacramento City College can also be found here, so watch your speed barreling down Freeport if you please. The Quickly location is better than others in Sacramento, but if you would rather boba elsewhere choose D Cup and not Yummy Cafe. If you do enjoy a good crispy noodle in the middle of the night, Yummy Cafe is your exit. Curtis Park is better than Land Park. Real people hang out here, and their noses aren't pointed toward the clouds.

Play Structures: I was seriously impressed by the variety of equipment specifically designed for the 2-5 year old age range. It's hard to find parks that cater so well to that specific gap! Creative Designs: The creativity here is next level. The kids absolutely loved exploring the castle and the ship structures--it really sparked their imagination and kept them busy for a long time. Right next to the playground is a great duck pond. It was a huge hit with the kids and provided a nice, scenic break from the climbing and sliding. Even late in the day, the park felt welcoming and well-maintained. It's a perfect destination for a family outing where the kids can safely burn off some energy.

Just as with furry children, human ones also have tons of energy that must be let out. So instead of having them cooped up, I'd will myself to take them to the park even when I'm bone tired after a long week of work. William Land Park is THE best place to help kids burn off energy so they can simmer down and sleep well after they have all the fun. It's really not a bad thing, I don't want to sound like I'm begrudged to take my kids out to play, but you know how sometimes you just want to veg out at home after work and esp on weekends? Yup. But my wife's always right that it's better to just suck it up and take the littles out and let me run wild than to fight the inevitable and try to keep them occupied at home. So we make the trek and we're never disappointed, even when parking can be challenging (hint: don't go at peak times on the weekend, esp Saturday mid morning to early afternoon). With all that said, WLP is really a great place. It's huge, first of all, with a big free playground on the North West side of the park, then of course there's the Sacramento Zoo which is just the most iconic place in Land Park. Then for littles there's Fairy Tale Town which was really a hit with my kids when they were younger. And when they got older and wanted more excitement, Funderland was the place to be for several years with all the roller coaster and other amusement park rides that were good enough for their age when they still got the thrill of being up and down and thrown around on a coaster or a spinning tea cup or a rocking pirate ship. And it helps that both places are pretty affordable for a fun day out. What's impressive about Land Park though, is that there's something for everyone in this 166.5 acres regional park. I looked up some stats and it features 23 picnic areas, 2 softball fields, 1 lighted Little League field, 3 baseball fields, 2 bantam soccer fields, 1 full-sized soccer field, 1 basketball court, adventure play area (the free playground), tot play area with free wading pool (in the same area as the playground), an indoor community facility, several restrooms, several ponds, a 3.4 mile jogging trail, the Ampitheater, fee-based pony rides, and 5 garden areas including the WPA Rock Garden, 3 groves, 2 parking lots, the well loved Golf course, the Sac Zoo which my kids really loved as kids, Fairytale Town and Funderland as mentioned above. In fact, for awhile I was playing volleyball here every Saturday, it must've been a couple of years from spring through fall and even over the winter if the weather was good and the grass wasn't soggy/ground wasn't muddy from rain. I had a great time playing vball with young'uns half my age as well as those who were quite a few years older than me and yet were so fit they literally kept me on my toes. There were definitely some talented folks on the vball courts and it was all volunteer organized and free to join and play. I might have to go back to it before I'm totally out of commission. All in all, William Land Park is very unique and truly is one of Sacramento's most historic and special places. We drive by often, but don't go there enough, and really need to get out and get some fresh air and exercise on the beautiful grounds of this local gem.

Not too much sidewalk so it may not be too wheelchair friendly. Aside from this, the park is most flat so there's no uphill/downhill. It's peaceful and rarely overcrowded, usually only during nice summer days. The park is so big though, you'd have no problem finding a place to sit. By 12:50pm the rain was starting to pick up and we were almost running for cover. I had my raincoat on, but my husband only had his leather coat on. He was warm, but getting wet. He wished he had brough his umbrella. The park is very lush this time of year with a few puddles here and there on the paths. We though we were on the capital look, but realized that the loop is referring to the outer edge of the park, we started on the loop and then wove through the park, so I'm going to just review the park today and post pictures from the interior park. I really like the cactus garden. It's a little scary at times as the prickles are so large and my husband is worried if he walks by too close they will attack him. So, we kept our distance and skipped the close up shots. Today some of the cactus was in bloom which was pretty spectacular. I loved their orange color and brightness. They really popped. They do have a warning that says keep out of the Cactus garden so you are forewarned to stay away so you don't get poked. I took a picture of a cool tree. The top must have been cut at one time because now there is only a branch that goes over the path. It's fun to read all the tree tags and see what kind of trees growing in the park. They have two types of paths in the park, some that are paved and some that are possibly finely crushed rock. Both paths were a little puddly today, but not too back that you couldn't walk around the puddles. There are a few benches in the park. May of the ones under the trees are occupied by the unhoused population. The ones out in the open are usually vacant and used by local workers to enjoy some fresh air and have lunch outside. Come enjoy Capital Park. I suggest you take public transit here if you are visiting on a weekday as the parking is slim on the streets, but there are aways garages available. If you come on the weekends, there is much more parking on the streets. So, you have no excuse as to not enjoying this beautiful park.

A few of us were flying kites together, and it was such a relaxing, heartwarming experience. It's incredibly family and dog friendly, super roomy, and has so much going on. Because it's so clean and well maintained, this might just become the park I bring my kids to most often, and it is definitely a top choice for hosting future family events! It is perfect for a workout, sports activities, or just letting the kids play. I love the layout, especially how they designed the two separate grass areas where one sits at a lower elevation, while the other is level with the rest of the park. But honestly, what really blew me away was the restroom. I know that sounds like an exaggeration, but I'm serious! So many park restrooms are cold, dark, dirty, and lacking privacy. This one felt downright luxurious. It is completely temperature controlled, which was especially nice since it was breezy outside! It was warm, well lit, exceptionally clean, and had absolutely no odor. It even sounded like it had a great ventilation system running. The only minor downside was the lack of toilet seat covers, but that's an easy fix. The entire park feels pretty new with a beautiful, modern design, conveniently located right behind the Sky River Casino. Highly recommend checking it out! Rate: 10/10
