I've been here multiple times since finding this place around 6 months ago. Their lunch and dinner specials are both fairly inexpensive and are a ton of food. I usually get the Chicken Masala when it is on the menu (it often is). The special comes with a large serving of your main dish, a generous portion of rice and naan, an appetizer of fried onion that is so good with their sweet sauce, and some pineapple for dessert. Yum! The environment is very warm and good for sitting for a while and catching up with friends. They are also very fast with take out orders, you barely have to wait at all after ordering to head out. It was my 1st Time with my kids today. We order chicken tikki masala and lamb kabob. I told them to make lamb kabob dry ...not to put sauce in lamb kabob-mild for my child . But this lady who took our order in counter , she made lamb kabob with sauce which my girl didn't like it. And this Chinese looking staff - raahess came to us and help to me by brining next lamb kabob with no tomato sauce . It was really helpful. My child -she liked it & she finished all kabob . We love this restaurant. The thali price is reasonable and there's a ton of food. I wish they'd updated their prices online cuz they're charging an extra dollar for both lunch and dinner specials. Which isn't much but still. We always order the chicken tikka masala and the chicken kebabs and they taste just amazing! On our last visit we ordered saag paneer cuz I just loveee saag paneer but I didn't exactly like the look of it. The taste was just fine too. Usually saag paneer has pastey spinach with small cubes of cheese but the look of their dish was not the same. We brought that dish back home and I fixed it up the way that we like it with some more added salt and spices and it turned out perfect. read more

My coworkers and I regularly go here for lunch, and it's a great place. The food is fresh and flavorful, and there is a good variety. You can get rice pudding instead of the canned pineapple as a dessert, so ask for it if you're into that. The spice levels vary drastically, with the extra hot having never been more than a medium in my opinion, and the naan is a bit on the balloons side, but the portions are decent and the price isn't bad (although I do think they've raised it recently). The naan was not homemade and looked like what comes in the frozen section of the market. It was so bad my son didn't even take home the pieces he didn't finish- a first for him. We stopped here on our way to Estes Park, and I am so glad we did!!! At first I was a little sceptical because I didn't see anyone South Asian eating here, so I wasn't sure if the food would be authentic or if it would be whitewashed lol. They have daily specials that come in a thali (silver plate that comes with naan, rice, pakora, and fruits), and then regular menu items also. We ordered 2 thalis: 1 chicken Tikka masala and 1 chicken jalfrezi. You can tell them how spicy you want it, and I chose for both of them to be hot. The chicken Tikka masala was amazing. The chicken jalfrezi was a chicken curry with chickpeas (it was almost like spicy chole with chicken pieces added), but it was tasty! The rice, naan, and onion pakora were all very fresh and delicious. The portion and quality of food was AMAZING for the $11.95 per thali. We also ordered a lamb korma from the regular menu and it was so delicious! The korma sauce was so rich and flavorful, and the hot spice level was perfect for us. This was served with only rice. It's a family owned joint, and I'm pretty sure the owners are Nepali. Service was good and the place was clean and had a welcoming atmosphere. About a year ago I would have given this place 5 stars, but as my knowledge of Indian food has expanded, so have my expectations. The chicken soup is flavorful, but it's a little too thick and their isn't much chicken save 2 or 3 large, awkward to chew, chunks. I am a die hard makhni fan... And while it used to be what I ordered from here, it seems they may have changed the recipe. It's not as creamy and buttery as I expected. Honestly, the naan isn't very good. Dry, too thick, bland. I have an interesting review.. Just a heads up. I love the food here. Its quick, reasonably priced, and appeals to my own taste. (I'm Asian) I usually go with the kebob or meatball soup, but i like their marsala as well. A few weeks back, i left a 51$ tip by accident. I usually leave 2$ on a 10$ meal, and since all my bills were new and crisp i mistook a 50 for a 1. I didn't realize this until the next day and i called. The owner said he knew it was a mistake and was happy i called. He held on to it until i could pick it up two days later. I would have been happy with a 50$ voucher but i got cash back. I work as a chef and i have been in the restaurant biz for a little while. Many servers would pocket that with no intention of returning it. The fact that the owner returned it to me shows the integrity in which they run this business, and the value/respect they have for their customers. They will have my faithful business as long as I'm in the boulder area. I know the profit from my business alone will exceed 50$ within a 2 week time frame, so it was definitely a smart move by the owner. =) read more

Here's my advice if you're fastidious and health conscious diner like me. 1. Curry N Kebob is ranked #1 restaurant in Boulder on Yelp but it is just your average Indian food. So take Yelp reviews with a big grain of salt. I think this place is popular because you can get entrees for $10 but if you're looking for cheap, you can get even cheaper Indian at Trader Joes or make it yourself. 2. I like meals with a healthy mix of protein and veggies and whole grains. Most meals come with white rice and white nan, no veggies or whole grains. 3. If I'm going to spend $10 on Indian, I'd rather get a buffet instead of a single entrée. 4. The $9.95 specials come with an Onion bajai (don't eat it, deep fried food is very unhealthy) and some canned pineapple. Don't be seduced by these free sides vs. getting what you really want as they are not worth it. 5. Every time I eat Indian, I feel like there's a painful bowling ball in my stomach for hours afterward. If this happens to you, don't delude yourself into thinking this time might be different. After this meal, my fiancée and I have sworn off Indian forever as the 5 hour stomachache wasn't worth it. read more

This place had amazing flavors that one would find at any high end Indian place. I had the mushroom mutter dinner deal. It came with basmanti rice, curry fried onion, naan, and pineapple... All for $9.99... ChEaP! The mutter had TONS of flavor loaded with potatoes and peas. I am giving it 5 stars because of taste and affordability. I'm good. I can die now. I found the mutter paneer I've spent my entire adult life looking for. When I was a kid I got hooked on leftover Indian my vegetarian parents would bring home. Mutter paneer was always my favorite, but that restaurant closed down and I've never found anything that came close. How delightful it is when a restaurant I've already long ago rated with 5 stars gets even BETTER over time. This has indeed occurred with Curry N Kebob. It has been many months since I've been to Curry N Kebob, and during this time they doubled their size to make room for more tables. This is clearly to accomodate their growing customer base. Excellent food is the reason more customers are coming. It is still an order-at-the-counter place, I had the palak paneer for dinner on Sunday evening. The spices, ingredients, paneer....all perfect. Absolutely perfect. The 3 or so friends in our group that I shared tastes of it with also enjoyed it. I got to taste a few friends' dishes too. It is late and I am tired and not remembering what all I tried. But I can tell you it was all super-delicious. Prices remain extremely reasonable. And I'm talking about dinner prices too, not just lunch prices. I'm thankful to the friend who recommended Curry N Kebob for another friend's celebration. There are so many restaurants in this town, and I've been trying my best not to spend $$ eating out, so sometimes I need to be reminded that amazing, evolving places like this are out there. read more

Pretty good! I eat A LOT of Indian food, so I'm picky. This place is really good for someone who likes flavor but no spiciness. I had to dump half of my cayenne pepper jar and some dried chilli's on it to get it hot enough! However, the food itself is very good! The chutneys are delicious, especially the tamarind, but they don't have any sour pickle. I would recommend getting the channa masala and the garlic naan with some onion pakora and papadam. They also cater to vegetarians, vegans, and gluten free people, which is a huge plus! *Update: apparently they do have sour pickle! Just not on the delivery menu. read more

London is known for their Indian food, and when I recently visited I tried one of their top Indian restaurants. And I have to admit, Curry N Kebob was still 10x better. The food is so delicious and the portions are generous and great as leftovers. I love how affordable it is, too. We always stop by especially when we have friends visiting. Note to self: when vegetarian friends recommend you a restaurant, ORDER VEGETARIAN. Under no circumstances should you order goat vindaloo, because the goat will be so overcooked that it's rubbery and squeaks between your teeth. It will also go beyond gamy to causing you to wonder how many months ago the goat was actually killed, because it tastes like it's been fermenting somewhere. Also, believe the girl behind the counter when she says spicy is 'not very spicy'. She is correct. Order extra spicy. (Do NOT generalize this to other Indian restaurants; you will be (and have been) in a world of pain. Naan is good, presumably vegetarian dishes are good too, and the non-goat part of the vindaloo is fine. Just... maybe Boulder doesn't have a good source for goat meat? read more

This seems about as "Meh" as one can get. I asked for my lamb vindaloo extra extra spicy. The guy even asked "Are you sure?", and I emphatically said "Yes". It came out ... well ... bland would be an improvement. The lamb was overcooked and dried out. Also, I'm fairly certain that the naan is pan fried, not made in a tandori. It has the dense-dough layer on the bottom. But it is really really cheap. You just get what you pay for. read more

The Yelp app strikes again! I needed a cheap yet highly rated restaurant nearby so I could hang out in Boulder and delay my foray onto Hwy 36 traffic Mission accomplished! I walked into Curry n Kebob and was initially confused by the menu board. I started looking through their regular menu and then the woman asked me if I've been there before. Nope, first timer. She asked if I wanted an explanation. I hesitate and then said yes. Their board typically features several daily specials. Today's came with about 5 entrees, rice, pineapple, onion bhaji and naan for $9.95. Good thing, I said "yes". Otherwise, I thought it was a pick one entree/one side deal. This was a bangin' deal! I ordered the chickpea masala, took my number, and started reading in my corner booth. My meal soon came and I tucked into it. Tearing my naan, finishing the pineapple, enjoying the delicious chick pea masala. And I love bhaji. Wish I could have that every day. I also appreciate their nifty silver serving trays. They let me read undisturbed even after finishing my meal. Thank you. When I finished, I scanned the room and spotted two friends. They love this place and mentioned a to kill for pineapple dish. I grew up eating northern Indian food - straight from momma's kitchen. I like my Indian food prepared with fresh ingredients, served up hot and spicy. My review is for take-out and delivery only, I haven't eaten in-house as yet. Delivery: The food arrived quickly and it was hot, though the clueless delivery guy tried to bring it to my neighbor's house. I think it's an third party delivery company, so I didn't hold it against Curry N Kebob. The garlic naan and shish kabob were bursting with flavor, highly recommended. The chicken curry was ordered mild and not not bad, about average for an Indian restaurant, and not nearly as tasty. We also had a side of vegetable samosas which were pretty good. Takeout: Same order as last time, but upped the chicken curry to medium spicy and had beef samosas. This time the chicken curry was better than average and the beef samosas were very good. The garlic naan and the shish kabob again were exceptional, and the kabob's were drizzled with yogurt sauce this time - a nice touch. Tips: - There aren't many options for delivery indian food in Boulder. This might be the only one, actually. - Halal meat is a butchered at a higher standard than the low grade, mass produced, factory farmed stuff. It's a good proxy for higher quality (i.e. not likely pink slime). read more

My wife and I came in from Denver to take our friend out for his birthday and he suggested Curry n Kebob. It was Sunday and we got there at 2:20, just as they were about to close. They said they could seat us if we could order right away. We decided on lamb curry, goat biryani, and channa saag. It was all excellent! The channa saag came with two onion bhajii and naan. The channa didn't taste like they'd come from a can, and the spinach was leafy, not chopped or frozen. The lamb curry had a smoky spice to it. The goat biryani had carmelized onions, raisins, and almonds, and was very flavorful, but I'm wishing I'd ordered the goat Vindaloo instead. The food was excellent. The place is clean and sunny, without a lot of the usual trappings of a dark, Indian restaurant. The people who waited on us were Nepalese. I have to say, that it was some of the best Indian food I've had outside of India. It was fresh tasting and filling, and came with an assortment of chutneys (and raita for the biryani). The price of the meal for three people was around $45. No alcohol is served, but the food is great and the service is excellent. I'd eat here again in an Uttar Pradesh heartbeat! read more

I think that I have written a review in the past, when the quality of their food was better. Frankly it is has declined and I'm disappointed. More precisely, the quality of the food is not consistent. Sometimes it can be like it used to be, but more often it is worse. I used to go here often, but now it's 3 - 4 months between visits and even then it is only because my wife wants to go. I hate to see a local business go downhill like this, but it happens and can be fatal in such a highly competitive restaurant market as Boulder. The owner posted an ad on Facebook to lament the negative reviews that he has been receiving lately. Instead of doing that, he should listen to the feedback from his customers and do what is needed to bring the quality back to what it used to be. Instead, he just sits in at a table in a corner and ignores the customers. Based on what he said in his Facebook ad, it seems that he refuses to believe what his customers are telling him and he won't talk with them in the restaurant. read more

Just had lunch at Curry N Kebob for the first time, and was truly impressed. First off, as soon as I walked in the door, I was greeted by the most delightful spicy aroma. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable, and explained dishes I was curious about and hadn't tried before (and it was surprising to find indian dishes I haven't already tried!). The prices are extremely good, especially given the quality and quantity of the food. I'd easily say this is the best value for price in Boulder and surrounds, for lunch. I ordered the chicken makhni - a rich tomato-cream dish, served with rice. I was expecting a little dish of sauce, and a bit of rice, and was pleasantly surprised by a huge, gleaming, stainless steel tray, with a large pot of curry, generous rice, piping hot, fresh naan, and tamarind sauce and pineapple chunks on the side. The portions were so large I had trouble finishing my lunch - but the food was tasty enough I was determined to try. I've had better Indian food before, but not often. I would rate the flavor and quality at well above the norm, and certainly far above what I'd expect for the price. For about eight dollars, I got what could easily have been more than one meal, the food was excellent, and service was very fast. For what I might have paid to eat at Wendy's, I got a superlative lunch of hot, fresh, quality Indian food. I'll definitely be going back. read more

First off I have to say I love this place so much. I've been coming here since before the expansion and renovations and it has only gotten better. Pros The food is amazing. It's by far my favorite Indian food restaurant. While my favorite dish is the lamb masala, lately I've been picking the specials since the main dish comes with naan, a side of diced pineapples, an onion baji with chutney, and a generous portion of rice. I'm pretty sure they offer six daily specials - three meat and three vegetarian. The list is posted on the chalkboard behind the order counter. The last special I ordered was the beef kofta vindaloo which was delicious - if you order it, get it at medium spiciness at least. Mild was good but I think the dish will shine when it's got a bit of kick to it. (SN: For any dish you can pick your level of spiciness - I usually go for mild but can handle medium... occasionally.) Decor-wise they've steadily gotten better since the open. It's always clean and there are plenty of booths - even a large one for big parties. Lots of smaller two seater tables too. It's really casual which I love. I'm comfortable coming in work clothes but have been known to stroll in wearing my Netflix-binging sweat pants getup when I lived around the corner and I never felt out of place. Cons They take a siesta and are closed from 2;30pm - 5pm. There was a stretch where I always seemed to want to come in between 3 - 4pm. It was disheartening. I recommend you memorize the hours to avoid this disappointment. Also - while it's not an issue for me, the spiciness might not be enough for you if you like it hot - like real hot. Lastly, there's been a price increase on the dinner specials. They used to offer dinner specials for $9.95 and lunch for $7.95 (the website still shows these prices) but the last couple times I've been the price was $10.50 for dinner. Not sure if there's a change in the lunch prices. Take-out specials only come w/rice and naan. Not 100% sure about the price. read more

Best value and taste for Indian food in Boulder.

My fiance and I enjoy this place quite often. One of our favorite joints in boulder. Try the lamb masala and korma dishes. The saag dishes are excellent. We both were accustomed to boring indian food and had given up on it, but Curry n Kebob came to the rescue. Our only consistent issue here, hence the 4 stars, has been relatively dry chicken. We have found this is a result of the use of white breast meat, which in stews/slow cooked is not ideal. I wish they would give boneless skinless things a try, would be way more moist. I forgot to mention that all of the Naan we have tried here has been wonderful! The flavors across the board are excellent and I highly recommend it. read more

Yelpers are always searching for "diamonds in the rough", those amazing, unassuming places that you find tucked away in a strip mall next to a Quiznos and a car wash. Curry N Kebob is one such diamond. We loved it. Wife and I stopped by on our bikes because it is close to home. We got the Aloo Gobi and the Saag Paneer dinner platters. Loved them both, especially the Saag- easily the best rendition of that dish I've ever had. Portions were huge and cheap- 10 bucks gets you an entree, naan, rice, a samosa and carrot pudding. Next time we will probably order and entree and just get extra naan. Zuned (the owner) was very friendly and we talked about how everything they serve is prepared fresh in house. My taste buds can attest to this- everything tasted very fresh. We can't wait to go back, and we're super excited CnK is in our neighborhood. Go check it out! Keep it in business! Alright, there are a couple reviews here bagging on service and how they don't have brown rice, or other things that really should not be an issue. Brown rice? Come on, typically Indians don't eat brown rice. Bad service? Get over yourself! Look at this place and the price. You expect to eat cheap and get good service? The food there is good. The service: mediocre to bad. Speed: mediocre. Aesthetics: not pretty. Kinda almost hole in the wall looking (I don't expect anymore than this, and kinda like it even). BUT most importantly, you're paying 10$ for a very satisfying Indian meal (even for a young college student)... What more do you expect when you pay so little for good Indian food? Wow! Went here for lunch today. $8.95 lunch gets you so much food! And so much flavor. This place is a gem. I had the chicken kabob cooked with red bell pepper in a light creamy tomato sauce. So flavorful and tender. Seemed like I got 2 whole chickens breasts worth of chicken! My son got the Mushroom Mutter, a vegetarian curry dish. I'm sad that it has taken me so long to finally go and try Curry n kebob. The urging of my Indian friends weren't enough, the amazing yelp reviews were not enough, it ultimately came down to my want for a nice cheap, yet delicious Indian lunch. Their daily special us a screaming deal, $7.95 for a big bowl of a curry, basmati rice, a full naan, onion bhaji and some pineapple. The food caters to both American/English taste buds and to real curry fans like myself. There are some creamy dishes, but the also really complex spiced dished that stick close to the originals. I had the chicken Jalfrezi, Indian hot, the chicken was cooked perfectly, rice mix of chicken to garbanzo's to sauce. My GF had the chicken makhani, only medium spiced, hers too had perfectly cooked chicken, and nice mildly spicy tomato cream sauce. The accompaniments were spit on, it's nice to have the onion fritter(bhaji) included, as well as a whole piece of what looked to be freshly made naan and a pile of basmati rice. The lunch is a great deal, and the dinner at $3 more is also a great deal. We also ordered a vegetable samosa dish, coming with mint and tamarind chutneys. They were good and 3 for $3.50 is a bargain. The setting is more quick serve but with a slower pace, you order at the counter picking from either the daily chalk written "specials" or you can order from a larger menu. You pay and then get a number and a few minutes later your meal arrives on a large stainless steel serving tray. I can't say enough good things about this place. The food, every single bite of every single item, is delicious. The people are always very friendly and it is definitely the BEST post climbing dinner out there. I've tried a lot on the menu (it's long!) but my favorite is the lamb saag and my manfriend usually gets the veggie cylon. As we are gluten free we usually get the papadons which are made with chick pea flower.
