Will it matter if I said that the food at this joint looks so good when served, that my greedy self completely forgot to take pictures of everyone's order (something I have been lately doing for yelp) The restaurant owned by a courteous Bangladeshi family is a presentable hole in a wall in the strip mall right next to Conoco. Typically I am very skeptical of such places when it comes to Indian/Pakistani food. It can either be a great hit or an awful miss but Curry N Kebob hits the spot just right. They are serving the best South Asian food in Denver hands down & on top of that they are not at all expensive like other Indian places in town. You place your order at the counter & they bring it up to you. You can either choose form the daily special posted on the chalk board up front at $7.95 which includes your choice of entrée (there were quite a few to choose from) along with veggie samosa, naan, boiled basmati rice, green & red chutney & fruit or look at the menu & take your pick from there. Our orders included: Meat samosas $3.00 (made of lamb, seasoned just right, a crispier crust would have been just perfect) 2 picks from the daily special which included Chicken Makhni & Chicken Kabab. Chicken Makhni was good, not too hot or too mild. Definitely comparable to the stuff I make at home) Chicken kababs were boneless chicken chunks seasoned & cooked just right. Veggie samosas were mild but good, green chutney was medium spicy & the red sweet chutney was good too. Seekh Kababs $10.00 which came with naan & rice were also made of lamb & served cut up into bite size pieces with green peppers & onions. 2 Mango lassis at $2.50 each. Lassi was actually really tasty as well, not too sweet or sour. I do wish that it was colder though Extra naan $1.50 Food didn't take too long to come out & was nice & hot. We did have to remind them of the Mango lassi though. All in all our party of 4 people including a 2 years old came out satisfied with extremely full stomachs at $42.00 before tip (something that hasn't happened in the past 3 years in Denver at least) Also, what do you know every single meat item on the menu is Halal. The Good: Fast service, affordable prices and tasty Indian food. The Bad: This is a personal preference, but I'm a little sad their aloo gobi (cauliflower & potato curry) doesn't have matar (peas). UPDATE -- you can request peas to make it aloo gobi matar, no charge, yay! The Food: Great value -- the specials (six daily -- three meat & three veggie choices) come with rice, naan, fried onion with sauce, and pineapple chunks. I get the aloo gobi and it's good, not the best I've ever had (and I've had a LOT, it's my favorite dish in the world) but it's solid and at a good price. The Service: Order at the counter, they are fast and friendly and you can get your food spiced mild, medium or hot. They bring your food to you and bus your table for you (they are fast and totally on it). Bring your waterbottle or get drinks at the soda station, they don't serve beers or alcoholic drinks. I was looking for delivery and ordered from here the Chana Saag and some roti. While the food was delivered within about 20 minutes, the food was barely warm and the Chana Saag had no flavor to it. I was then disgusted to find plastic had been cooked in a piece of the roti. After this I could not eat or enjoy the rest of my meal because who knows how they are cooking their food. Facts are facts: Curry N Kebob serves the best $9.95 complete Indian dinner in Boulder. . . . And, as importantly, the food's excellent. So excellent that my mouth was doing the Slumdog Millionaire dance as soon as I bit into that delicious bhaji appetizer. As the main course I chose their Chicken Masala and it rocked out, too. The daily deal here is that you pays your money and they give you a platter containing whatever you chose from their list of daily specials as an entree. Along with that they add an outrageously good onion bhaji (a clump of onion rings, garlic, cumin and other wonderful spices dipped in chickpea flour and then deep fat fried, and served along with a great tamarind (?) dipping sauce), 4 slices of really good naan, some basmati rice and a kheer dessert (a sweet rice pudding). The only funny mini-bummer was that I decided to try out the $3.00 Indian lemonade soda. Save your money and have some chai or maybe even a mango lassi. Maybe it was my un-schooled western taste buds, but to me the soda tasted like sweetened citrus-derived fizzy syrup, without a hint of real lemon (as confirmed by the list of ingredients that--were I a smarter diner--I would have read, before ordering:). Ohhhh yes. I've gotten my Indian fill (and more) at Curry N Kebob. So glad I was introduced to this place. Don't be talked into ordering anything but the featured combo. You'll get your choice of main dish (I ordered the Chicken Masala), four slices of naan, a hefty portion of rice, side of fruit, some sauce, and onion bhaji (2nd only to the naan). I really appreciate being able to try multiple things at an Indian restaurant, which is why I usually hit up buffets. This gave me an evening chance and I'm still grateful. read more

I am far from the Indian food expert but after tonight I plan to explore my taste buds some more and my fears of trying new stuff and see what else this place has to offer. After the many reviews and people in front of me ordering the chicken masala I decided to try that. And I will say I have nothing bad to say about this incredible generous sized portion and beautiful display of a meal. I couldn't eat everything on my tray but it was delicious. I got it 'medium' and it wasn't spicy at all, which is fine with me because I'm not good with anything that's too hot and makes me sweat while eating. It was a Sunday but they had a ton of take out orders. Very quick service and super friendly. Guy even came over to table and asked how my meal was and shook my hand and told me his name. I saw him do this to many customers, and even thanked some that he said he recognized as regulars. The way it should be and a reason I will be coming back. Can't wait to explore some more options on the menu. About $13 for my dinner with a soda. Lunch is way cheaper and I will be adding this to my now extensive list of good eats in boulder. I've been ordering for over 3 years. Probably 30-40 orders. 25% of the time something is wrong. There is no consistency when ordering the same thing. Sometimes the Ceylone is nice and thick and sometimes is just water. Ordered the Baingan Bharta tonight and it was super bitter and not even eatable. Got this a week ago and it was great. Called and was told they got a new chef. They must get new chefs a lot! I'm done giving them chances. This is honestly the best restaurant on the planet. I am from new jersey and I am a food connoisseur, all I do is eat and work my life away. But this place does it right. The food is amazing quality, very refreshing, tasty, filling, and satisfying. The staff is super nice and friendly and informational and caring, and the food literally comes out in 2 minutes. I dont ever write reviews, but this place 100% deserves one. If theres one place I could eat the rest of my life this is the winner. Also the hot is very good, will not rip your face off. Food is tasty and balanced, but man their prices have spiked! It's quick service and a few months ago, I frequented this place since it was a good deal. But they've hiked pricing - and literally pasted little papers on the menus with hand written amounts rather than re-printing them. What used to be a good meal for $20 (reasonable for Boulder, high for the offering) has become an ok-tasting meal for $30 + tip + tax. For the spike in cost, it's a local place I now skip. I prefer not to pay that much for to go in styrofoam containers. read more

Went here for lunch with work colleagues. ~16 of us and we ended up taking over the restaurant and one of the staff took our order at the table. Overall good experience. Food: Great. I had the lunch special - was very good. All my co-workers enjoyed their meals too - no one had anything other than great things to say about their meal. Service: Was fine. Odd situation ordering. I tried ordering chicken curry and the server kept telling me to get the special. I finally gave in. Not sure if she thought it was a better deal or they were out of the other or what. Good food at a great value! You must order and pay at the counter at this establishment, and then your food will be brought to you when it is ready. I ordered the chicken masala special, which came with rice, naan, and a pakora. I also ordered the lamb biryani, which did not come with anything else. The chicken masala was merely ok. The chicken pieces were stewed in the sauce and not cooked in an oven, which made them a little soft and devoid of the firm texture that I have come to expect from this dish. The pakora was delicious, crispy, and well-seasoned. The lamb biryani was aromatic and flavorful, topped with fried onions. The lamb pieces themselves were cooked, but not seared (no maillard reaction), and some pieces had large pieces of fat and gristle attached to them. Not ideal, but I could deal with it. I'm sure some more finicky diners would consider it a deal-breaker. read more

Overall this food would fall into an average category for me. The garlic naan was warm and makes for a great addition to your meal. A disappointment was the lack of a goat option on their menu. The lamb masala was average, but on a positive note had some of the flavorful lamb gaminess, but could use more to distinguish it from other meats. The portions of rice are generous, and again accompany the meal well. I'd come back as this is likely the best Indian food in and around Boulder. read more

We had goat biryani it was 6/10. My husband had dinner special which was 8/10. Dinner special included onion fritter which was amazing , rice , chicken, another side and dessert(pineapple chunks). Was just there on Sunday evening with a friend who recommended it. We started off with an order of vegetable samosas- and there were three pieces that came out to share between the two of us. The outside almost had a funnel cake taste sort of taste to it. I had the chicken masala dinner special- and wow was that quite the portion/tray! The dinner specials come with naan, basmati rice, a little onion fritter that was very delicious (though naughty) and a couple sauces. As my friend didn't get the special, and the portion of naan was huge, I shared it with him. Still was plenty for us both. The chicken masala was tender and flavorful. I had a bite of my friends chicken korma and it was wonderful, and that sauce on the rice or with the naan dipped in...yum. The price its very reasonable and everything was fresh and it was a great experience, will definitely be back to try some other things on the menu! One thing I can say is it would be nice for those of us who are trying to lay low on the carbs preferably to be able to substitute rice for vegetables. read more

BEST FOOD EVER. I moved from the area a few years ago. And Curry n Kebob is my most missed thing! When ever i'm back in town i eat there at least three times. Never once have i had anything taste bad there. The staff is amazing. Only one complaint from my lunch this weekend is the naan is different then it use to be. But it still rocks! One of the most mediocre experiences at an Indian restaurant. Ordered the Chicken Masala entree, and got something that was barely edible. Not sure why the reviews here are positive, but for someone who has lived in the Bay Area (e.g. Palo Alto), where you have the largest and richest Indian population in the US, the Indian cuisine is top notch since the competition is so fierce. The only place in Boulder that comes close to quality Indian Cuisine is a restaurant on 55th and Arapahoe called Tadka. The buffett is excellent, and serves great Chicken Masala, and Tandoori Chicken + they have one of the best Mango Lassi's I've ever tasted, very thick! After getting good recommendations about this restaurant by my colleagues, I decided to try Indian food at Curry n Kabob(which I refrain from as I cook Indian food at home most days). I had the lunch thaali - Naan, Mushroom Mattar, Rice and Kheer. Naan was extremely soft and tasty, Kheer was meh! The curry was on the sweeter side. I guess the other entrees are definitely better as said by my colleagues, but vegetarian portion was decent but not so good that I would back here. read more
