I was hungry for some good Indian food. This place really filled the bill. I ordered the Tikka Masala and garlic Naan. The dish came with a generous serving of basmati rice. What a nice place to get Indian dishes. Ordered a Vegetable Korma level 2. I could have handled more heat. The naan with dates was really good. For dessert I ordered Kheel(rice pudding). This place maybe under appreciated in the market, its Nepalese / with is subtlety different but Indian food in general. Because it was not busy service was top notch We had vegan non-vegan and full spice range and all the dishes were top notch. A good choice of items in their buffet. I'm a vegetarian and had plenty to choose from, but there were plenty of dishes for meat eaters, too. The standout was a sweet potato curry. I've never seen one in any Indian or Himalayan place. It was delicious! Overall, some of the other dishes could have used more spice, but there was a homemade spicy sauce as well as mint sauce and chutney to doctor up dishes. The buffet also comes with a basket of fresh naan. Other highlights were banana pakoras (also a first for me) and their yogurt sauce which had small pieces of fresh ginger. We were staying at the hotel behind this place for the workweek and this looked like the best rated restaurant in walking distance. I am confident that is true! Loved all the vegetarian options! I'm not a vegetarian, but I like a good vegetarian option, especially with Indian food! The veggie korma was delicious with so many different vegetables, beyond what you commonly find at similar restaurants, and I love that it had cashews in it for a delightful crunch! I also got the Baingan Bharta. I love eggplant, so I knew I'd love it and I did. I love sweet naan with food like this and they had one with dates and nuts that was the perfect pair with my order! I wanted to order again, even after heating up leftovers for 2 days after. I couldn't get enough and really wanted to try more from their menu knowing how good my first order was! read more

Wow! I went for lunch and was pleasantly surprised. The food was yummy, the space was quiet and the woman serving us was so sweet and lovely. The buffet is closed as of this writing due to COVID regulations in Boulder County... but hopefully back up again soon. I'm vegetarian and love the large selection of dishes. I highly recommend this restaurant! It's tucked away in the Safeway shopping center. My husband and I both ordered lamb biryani for take out. It's delicious! They also have a big selection of vegetarian dishes and Nepali specials like the dumplings. We will be going back to try many of the dishes on their huge selection of menu!! read more

Love the deal mahkani. Love the vegetable korma, perfect ! They do spice levels 1-7. Got the dal mahkani at 1 for my 10 year old and she liked it (and she doesn't like much) the vegetable korma was rich and creamy with vegetables and nuts. So so good. I got a five because I like it hot. Also the naan and papad and mango lassi were delicious. All priced fairly reasonably. read more

It was a snap decision for lunch and decided to have lunch here, as I waited for friends of mine to reply to an invitation to lunch here in Boulder Colorado, but would never come. :( I did end up enjoying this experience, as I don't remember ever going to an Indian cuisine restaurant where they serve a buffet, so it was a nice time for me. I do enjoy the spices, the scrumptious deliciousness, and the simple taste that went along with usual Indian fare and it is a treat anywhere to have such a delicious treat. For me, it was here in Boulder at Mt Everest Indian cuisine restaurant. I arrived here around 12:30pm after having a treat of ice cream at the nearby Glacier ice cream. It was a spur of the moment thing and I knew I did not have Indian food since my birthday in mid September. The restaurant itself was relatively small, but large enough to be intimate and cozy at the same time. Upon entering the restaurant, it was dark, but light enough to see where I was going. Call it mood lighting, but it was middle of the day. lol With that said, I asked the host how much the buffet was and he replied that it was $9.95. Thought that was reasonably awesome, since many fast food options you can get a combo for around that price. Having a buffet of Indian entrees was as a great a value that I have seen. Although the selections were rather limited, I filled up on the usual favorites. My new favorite is their creamy spinach. Pretty sure they mix cheese with the spinach, although I can't be sure. The tandoori chicken was very nice and must have had more than 2 servings. I ended up loading up on 2 plates with semi heaping portions. I left the restaurant pretty bloated and yes, definitely got my money's worth! At the end of the day, the value and taste is worth gold in my book. Mt Everest serves up awesome Indian cuisine at an affordable price. I also ordered a strawberry lassi also to cap off a delicious meal. Mt Everest Indian cuisine restaurant is located at 4800 Baseline Road in the heart of Boulder. They accept major credit cards as well as cash, so that's always awesome. Since they are attached to the shopping center, parking options are boundless here. Best bet is to come here as early as you can to avoid any issues and get that premium spot next to the restaurant to avoid walking extra. :) The overall experience here at Mt Everest Indian restaurant can be characterized as being good, positive, a great spot, and casual. The ambiance was nice to have a quiet lunch here in Boulder. Not sure if they have wifi or not, but it was cool to have lunch here. The tandoori chicken is spot on and the buffet, as aforementioned before, is a great value. If you are in the area and craving some naan, do yourself a favor and stop on by. The service is really non existent if you do the buffet. Recommended if you are in the area and need that fix of curry and tandoori to make the day go by better. 4.0 stars for the overall experience. 4.5 stars for the food. 3.0 stars for the service, or lack thereof. What a find! I went for the vegan lunch buffet today (Saturday), and I truly enjoyed the meal and the restaurant. It's a storefront restaurant so I was expecting the usual brightly-lit, scarcely furnished interior. I was pleasantly surprised. The space is cozy, with comfortable chairs and booths. The food was absolutely excellent. The mushroom matar was my favorite. I don't see this dish often at Indian buffets, so I was very pleased to find it here. The black dal was my second favorite, but really, everything was very tasty. Don't forget to walk to the end where they have a soup and chutneys. I didn't notice them until I went back for dessert. "Meh. I've experienced better.". That's what Yelp refers to when giving two stars, and it couldn't be more accurate. I ordered for delivery and paid almost $30 for what was supposed to be extra rice as well, and too little sauce and four floppy pieces of cheese naan. I wanted to order from a different Indian place and decided to give Mt Everest a try. Unfortunately it wasn't great, or even good. The Masala was very uninspiring. The salmon was alright though there weren't a lot of pieces. But the real disappointment really is the Masala. It was spicy enough but had very little flavor, and the consistency was rather greasy. Good Indian food has the spice and the flavor, and this place just doesn't have it. It certainly cannot compare to Curry N Kebob or Yak & Yeti's Masala. I will not order from this place again and cannot recommend it since there are better alternatives. In the future I will order from Curry N Kebob again. read more

Hands down the BEST Indian food in town! The owner is the sweetest lady and runs a very nice establishment. Shes great at modifying her menu for a picky kid and all of their food is outstanding. Worth noting, unlike many Indian restaurants that add food coloring to make the food more "visually appealing", Mt. Everest does not do that.
