This was the best food I had in Colorado! It's a very casual spot, but the food's absolutely incredible. Beef Momo ($14) - Ground Beef with Celery, Onion, Garlic & ginger. Absolutely out of this world!!! These dumplings're so good, I ended up ordering a 2nd portion. Thentuk ($14) - Hand Pulled Noodle Soup with Meat, Bok choy & Carrots. I really enjoyed this one too. The homemade noodle has a great texture & the soup's packed with flavors. Shaptak ($15) - Pan Fried Beef with Peppers in Spicy Homemade Sauce. Still tasty but my least favorite of the 3. Fantastic food and very reasonable prices! We stopped by for lunch and ordered the lunch special which is three dishes + rice for $12. We picked the chick pea curry, mixed vegetables and chicken curry; all of our selections were solid and large portions. However the real standout was the beef momos that we ordered! They had a perfect, tender exterior with juicy, tender, and flavorful meat inside. We also got a free chai, which was solid as well. A few things to be aware of before you visit - the momos are made to order, so they take around 20 minutes to prepare. The space is very minimalist and small, with only a few tables. A small back room is set up with awkwardly close tables and a bathroom door, not an ideal place to enjoy a meal. Carry out might be a better option during peak hours. I actually ended up meeting Gautum, the restaurant's owner in an Uber and we instantly bonded. He was amazing to talk to and he ended up giving me a coupon to visit his restaurant. Safe to say, later that night I made the trek down there and ordered the chicken Momo's. As a Nepali who has been craving authentic Momo's every time I come back to the states, but has never been satisfied, I was shocked. You could tell the dough was handmade and that the aachar was elite. On top of that, they gave complimentary tea that instantly warmed me up. It felt just like the chai I make at home. If you're in town, please stop by! It's a little hole in the wall that made me feel welcomed as soon I went in! We stopped there why passing through Boulder as they were one of the few inexpensive places that had vegan options and I never had Tibetan food so was looking forward for my dinner. We arrived and it was already dark outside but we still decided to eat on the patio as the chairs inside were put up as they would be closing and it was very cold with the AC. I wish they had more lights outside as we had to eat almost in full dark... Staff was very friendly and they recommended few dishes. I had the Tsel Shamu with sautéed mushroom and zucchini with rice and had to try their steamed dumpling (tingmo). The curry was ok, it tasted very similar to a Polish dish called leczo so I was a little disappointed as I really was expecting some new, exciting flavors. The stemmed bun was very good. My husband got the beef curry - Shaptak with rice and he said it also had a similar flavor to Polish dish but at least it was spicy. Beef was a little tough. We also split vegetable Momos and they were good but far too much garlic was inside. The only flavor you could taste was garlic. I love garlic but this was a little too much. The dipping sauce was good. I read other reviews that the noodles are very good so maybe we just ordered wrong items... The portion size was very big, we ate half and took the rest for next day. read more

I go to get lunch there all the time and for $11 you get quantities that are far bigger than ANY restaurant (I would say on average its more than 1.5ish times bigger than chipolata) and the quality is there too. I saw one of the two owners at Costco buying organic carrots and all the ingredients. and I'm just thinking are these master chief's just doing this to make people happy? Absolutely delicious, authentic, and high-quality with fair prices and generous portion sizes. Friendly staff and cozy atmosphere. My Mom and I split the Thentuk soup and momo sampler plate. The soup had simple ingredients but was so rich in flavor, plus the hand-made noodles were amazing. Eating at Tibet Kitchen gave me fond flashbacks of traveling through Nepal, eating countless momos and drinking endless cups of warm, comforting chai. Come for the momos and chai! This was one of my fave spots to go to while I was a grad student in Boulder. Their momos are made to order so call ahead or expect to wait a bit longer for them--it's worth it! I usually get the momo sampler so I can have some of each flavor (chicken, beef, vegetarian). I think the beef is my favorite, but they're all tasty, super filling, and great to share! I love the spicy chutney that it comes with. I've gotten the lunch special once or twice (you can pick from a variety of ready-made dishes) and it's a great deal. The momos alone are worth the trip though, and the complimentary chai is delicious. I loved coming here for some post-hike momos and chai on their outdoor patio--a moment of tranquility before returning to the hustle and bustle of student life. I miss this place! read more

Tibet Kitchen is definitely a hole in the wall type of place. It's right off of Arapahoe and Folsom, and its really easy to miss! Be careful :) I have been here multiple times now and I'm still sitting at this same rating, because every single time I am here, it's the same. The Food: Dinner Special: it is an extremely great price for the amount of food you get (picture below) I got the chicken curry and garbanzo beans on side. The chicken curry is delicious, but could've used more spice. It tastes a bit watered down (this happened twice out of the 7 times I have ordered this) The garbanzo beans are DELICIOUS! Who knew this side would be so flavorful! It was a great addition. The rice is a bit dry, so definitely need to eat with something, not by itself. The best thing here are MOMO's! We have tried all three momos, and the best yet is the beef momo's. I suggest getting the momo sampler first to try all of them. Veggies are great momo's too! and the chicken can be a bit mushy. *They have a notice on the menu that the momo's are made to order and take 15 mins (this is a LIE). It takes about 20-30 mins depending on how busy, I once waited 37 mins (I counted because I was starving) The momo order comes in 8 and it may not seem like a meal or a lot of food, but it IS! So it is very filling and delicious. I have also tried the curry potato side and it was bland, not the greatest. It literally taste like watered spiced potatoes. Overall my rating for this place is lower because of the long wait time, and it is truly never busy. They take a while, but the food is cheap and delicious. I've never had Tibetan food and had always wanted to try Momos. This place was super affordable and delicious. We ordered the sampler momos, and you can pick any combination of chicken, beef, and vegetarian. The chicken momos were my personal favorite. The chutney it came with is pretty spicy, but pairs super nicely. I ordered 3 dishes, including the dinner special, and it totaled to $26.50. I'd recommend sitting on their patio because the inside is a bit cramped. read more

Came here to try the famous Jhasha Sha Chicken and it was delicious! You get the tiny pocket of soup in the momo which I appreciated. Parking lot is small but beats trying to find street parking which is never fun. They give you complimentary chai tea which was oh so delicious. Price point is very inexpensive for the area and if you come during the week, you can get their lunch specials which is a steal! Looking forward to coming back to try the other dishes. read more

My friend recommended Tibet Kitchen, so I headed there for lunch on my first day in town. It's fairly small, with no more than 15 seats inside. Despite its size, the food is simple, warm, and hearty. If comfort food had a name, Tibetan cuisine would be it! I ordered the lunch special, which consisted of saag paneer, chicken curry, and ting-mo (steamed bread). I also ordered vegetarian mo-mos, and also a couple of bites of the chicken and beef mo-mos from my friend. The lunch special was pretty good, although I wish that I could've ordered more. Mo-mos were plump and doughy, with plenty of good filling to go around. It was my first time having Tibetan food, and I have to say that I enjoyed it. Reminds me of a blend of Chinese and Indian food, which are also my favorites. Tibet Kitchen might look small and unassuming, but it offers solid flavors (and delicious, complementary chai to boot!). read more

This is one of the best meals I've had in a long time. The food was so fresh and incredibly flavorful. It's my new favorite Boulder County restaurant. I got the veggie momo which were so clearly made fresh, so aromatic with a delicious dipping sauce and the veggie meal with potatoes and spinach. Again so aromatic. My taste buds and mind were just overjoyed with the light but intense spices. My husband got the chicken curry which walked the heat intensity just perfectly. Having recently returned from a month in Nepal and Bhutan, I had a craving for tasty momos. We had the curry chicken dinner special with a chickpea side dish and bread, and the momos sampler. The curry chicken had a watery sauce-probably least flavorful curry chicken I've ever had. The chickpea side dish was the best part of the meal. Momos were disappointing served with a fairly tasteless, watery sauce with vegetarian momos being the worst and chicken the best. Counter staff seemed pretty disinterested. Came here as I was in a mood for something clean. The location is small and sits next to a Subway. There were four tables that sit two and some counter seating. People waiting for their carryout took up the counter seats. No fret, their orders would be ready before mine. This proved true as a bowl of dumpling soup came my way as I took a seat. Momos are something I thoroughly enjoy and was excited for the raving Yelp reviews. In actuality, it was cooked well but the dough was a bit too thick. I also found the soup a bit oily and missing flavor. The amount of veggies was a good balance to the 8 momos. I'm not sure if I'll be back, but the regular momo sampler sounds intriguing. I also wonder if the momos for soup are made thicker to sustain its construction in hot broth. read more
