I noticed the amazing food aroma of this restaurant while attending the Taste of New Canaan, and came back another day to have dinner. It has a cozy, authentic atmosphere, and our server was very friendly and helpful. They were kind enough to grant my friend's request for mango curry lamb instead of their usual vegetarian version. The flavors was "spot on," and the lamb was fork-tender! I ordered the chicken biryani which was the best I have ever had. These dishes plus garlic naan and complementary papadums were a delicious meal. They have full bar with a selection of cocktails and mocktails. During their happy hour, they offer free samosas with a cocktail purchase. Our server also informed us about their weekly Sunday buffet. We will definitely be coming back! read more

A can't give this a 5 - they printed off the receipt after I paid (this seems to be a trend with some places) and the tip included the taxation which would be fine if it accounted for that. Ended up going for a lunch. Actually thought the place was closed and was gonna go to a place next-door but then saw people inside the restaurant. Walked in asked if they're open he's said yes for takeout. Then I noticed someone sitting in one of the tables and I said I'd like to sit down and have lunch there. My only critique is the lighting. The lightbulbs are bright white interrogation lamps, which are not conducive to comfortable dining. Have enjoyed every meal here. The spicing and preparation are superb. Lunch specials are generous and great bargain as well! HIGHLY recommend the Mysore masala dosa ... outstanding. We had the friendliest service here! Even though I declined a comp drink while waiting, they brought us mango lassis, which were very good! Cheapest lunch special in NC. My wife and I had dinner here a couple of days ago, and we were delighted! The food is terrific and the service is quick and friendly. We loved the mulligatawny soup and the lamb tikka masala was scrumptious. We also enjoyed the cauliflower curry mango, and the nut and raisin naan was a new treat for us. Went to Mango Curry tonight. First time. We love Indian food. Lived in London, visited India. This place is not to be missed. Really, really good addition to New Canann. The owner was very nice and suggested things. I had chicken chettinad, which I would never have ordered but it was very good, and only slightly spicy. My wife had shrimp korma. Had a cauliflower starter which was also very good. We will definitely go back. Wonderful new addition to New Canaan dining. Even for those not familiar with Indian cuisine, you should try it. I have been waiting for this restaurant to open and we were able to eat there recently. The website marketing and the actual location couldn't be more far apart. I am not sure what the purpose of their gallery is on the website as they don't offer anything pictured. The menu is quite varied. We ordered the chili chicken which was not spicy at all. My guess is that they are catering to the American taste. Personally, I like spicy Indian food. The chicken korma was lacking in flavor as well. I added a little salt which brought some of the flavor forward. The food was not bad, it was just a little bland. The service was quite attentive and it is obvious that they really want people to enjoy their dining experience. I have to give them credit for that. My one gripe is that we were asked if we wanted still or sparkling water. We opted for still water and they brought out two bottles of water, cracked them open and poured them into our glasses. About 10 min later a waiter came over and refilled out glasses with tap water. I think this place is worth a try. read more

We tried Curry Mango for the first time last night and we are so glad we did. The food was amazing and the service was terrific. We have tried many other Indian restaurants in Stamford , Cos Cob and Darien and this one is way better. We did not have the normal Tikka Masala but tried different items and everything was so good. The decor is very nice ,clean and comfortable and our drinks were good and fairly priced. 17 different types of naan are on the menu and we tried two of them. Again very good. The food came nicely presented and the waiter and waitress were very helpful answering questions and suggesting main courses ( one of which was not even on the menu) which we loved. All in all we hope this restaurant is around for a long time so that we can work our way through the menu!! read more
