Consistently great Indian food. If I'm passing Norwalk I'll stop and get some takeout.

Reliably fast and delicious. High quality, flavorful food. Large servings. They are open until 10p and always pleasant to customers.

Still have the best bread around and ever since they redecorated and painted, it feels more like a restaurant than a take out joint...

We have eaten here before, and on every occasion we were very happy with the food, but on this latest visit after the management change, it was not good. The appetizers were good, not spectacular, but good, the naan was par (but you really need to work hard to screw up naan), but the main courses were really not good especially when you consider the price. My girlfriend had Chicken Tikka Masala, and while the taste was ok, there were a whopping 5 pieces of Chicken in it - at $20. I got the 1/2 Tandoori chicken. 1 - there was very little Tandoori paste on the chicken. 2 - the outside was not seared as it should be for Tandoori chicken. 3 - their idea of a 1/2 chicken was 2 leg / thigh combos, and small ones at that. Again - for $20. The only thing they have going for them is that the staff is very nice and attentive. Otherwise, they will seriously need to end the attempt to cut corners and do a much better job if they want to survive. We will not be back.

They also let us try a couple of side dishes they were putting out for the buffet while we were waiting and they were delicious! The worker said they are changing the restaurant name to Masala. I wish them luck. We will definitely return!

I have travelled to many states in the USA & always visit Indian restaurants. Many being much better these days than 20 years ago, & a lot of them still under performing with the quality. I much prefer the authentic flavor & gravitate towards the Northern Indian style. Vedas, on Westport Ave, Norwalk, is the place to go to get that food satisfaction. I must say, their food is excellent quality. Fantastic flavor, fantastic portions & fantastic service. Orders to go is recommended, as very limited eat in space. Be very careful though, as their food is extremely addictive. I felt that i had to write this review, as i do want other curry lovers to not be missing out on this brilliant experience. Everything on the menu is great, but i do recommend the Lamb Rogan Josh, as that is my all time favorite. Their lunch time specials are also great value, so check that out also.

I usually eat at the shop, which is tiny with a couple tables. It's mainly a takeout place. The staff couldn't be more gracious and accommodating. I'd say this is one of my go to Indian spots in this area.

The service is ok, you never know how it's going to be since the workers have a high turnover. Some servers come over constantly, while others give you the menu and disappear. The ambiance is very nice, very date-night appropriate. Over the years management has changed multiple times and am not sure if it's still Halal.

If you read my reviews, you'll know it's my favorite dish and I'm picky about it. My beef with this restaurant's korma is that they use frozen vegetables- like the kind you get at the grocery store - mixed bags of peas, carrots, and corn. This dish is supposed to have 9 fresh vegetables in it and I'm fine with the frozen peas, but the little cubes of carrots and the corn give it away. Corn has no business in this dish. So today my friend (who is from New Delhi and an excellent cook) asked them in Hindi if they used frozen vegetables. The waiter said they cut them up themselves and freeze them for use later. No they don't. The little cubed carrots and corn give it away. So I ordered lamb saag and garlic naan. He gave us samples of the korma and they did add a few other fresh vegetables to it and their sauce is very good- but no. The lamb saag was fantastic and so was the fresh naan. My friend had a goat Biryani lunch box and it was really good too. So go try it- it's really good. Just don't get the vegetable korma.... Lol!
