4. Spinach Pakoda
Tina U.

Randomly picked this place to stop for a quick bite and it didn't disappoint. Small but very cozy & inviting. Gopi was amazing with his service & recommendations. Really enjoyed the food. Malai Kofta was flavorful & the sauce was yummy, would have liked if it was a little bit spicy. The Chicken Chettinad was well prepared and had a nice spicy kick to it. We were served complementary spinach fritters with a dash of chat masala, very unique and simple but tasty. Thank you. Kheer was yummy ... right consistency and sweet. Loved it. We had a great dinner & will be coming back when in the area.

CHEF SPECIAL LAMB CURRY GF

This was a great find when we were here for one night. We tried the Colonel Tso Cauliflower as an appetizer and paired it with the Special Lamb Curry. We also got some naan and pickled lemon. We got everything 4/5 spicy and it wasn't too super hot. The cauliflower was perfectly crispy on the outside and tender inside with a sweet and tangy sauce. It was light but tasty. The Special Lamb curry was amazing and had well cooked potatoes and an ample amount of meat. Very very good. The server said to pair it with rice and that it's good for digestion. Overall we had a great experience dining here.

Lamb Lunch Box - find Waldo (lamb)!!! Any smaller and I'd miss the lamb completely.
Fineprint P.

I am surprised that I can still see the lamb curry in the lunch box! I know inflation has been tough on everyone but this is some kind of a practical joke. I will challenge the restaurant to make the serving smaller and see if we notice. Or maybe not, because I won't be falling for this prank again. Pathetic. Try Dhabe Walla that gives their main servings in the larger part of the box.

Very clean storefront

It's Saturday night, so I decided to try Curry & Hurry in Greenwich CT. Not to be confused with Curry "in a" Hurry. Tonight was my first time ordering, I opted for curbside pickup & it was very easy. I tried : 1) The Chicken Tikka Masala. A unique and delicious interpretation of a British favorite. Bell peppers ! Watch out if you're allergic to bell peppers .....they should mention this to customers when ordering - bell pepper allergies are real (refer to numerous online references). Slightly sweet and smoky sauce. Beautiful presentation with an orchid placed on top. 2) The Garlic Nan. Absolutely perfect. Loved the nan. Ordered nan after reading the rice portions are small. Agree. 3) The Raita. Wayyyy too sweet. More like the dessert version of Raita. Did not enjoy. Curry & Hurry is good and the location is great. Beautifully presented takeout ! Make sure to ask if they add bell peppers - if you' or anyone you're buying for is allergic

Potato filled samosa

Make this small indoor restaurant with easy take out your new place for delicious and fresh Indian food. It's only maybe a mile from the other spot, and the trip is worth it!! Friendly staff and such fresh and tasty food! The samosa pastry is extremely light, allowing the spice of the potato to take the lead. The baby eggplant curry is a must eat. The baby eggplants are quartered and cooked in a creamy, tangy curry. My takeout order came with three small sauces that were each so fresh, and I enjoyed the chicken tikka with the sweet lemon sauce - for lack of a better way to describe it - immensely! I used to live near by, and had seen this new restaurant during my return visits. I would eat here throughout the week if this place moved with me. Make the effort. You'll have an incredibly satisfying and enjoyable eating experience!

Indoor eating area. Small but comfortable. Dad happy to be out and about!

I couldn't believe how kind the staff was here. We took my dad out of his nursing home for lunch, he loves Indian food and as you can imagine they don't serve that regularly in a nursing home so we found somewhere close by to take him. My dad is a stroke patient so his entire left side does not work and is pretty much always in a wheelchair. When we pulled up we noticed there was a pretty tall step to the front door that we definitely could not wheel him over. The staff (2 gentlemen) actually helped me lift my dad to his feet and bring him inside to then set him in his wheelchair again!!! I cannot express enough gratitude for the staff who helped me, it was an unexpected obstacle (my sister told me she checked if the restaurant was wheelchair accessible- she lied) and I would not expect help from staff at all but they went above and beyond to make sure we had an enjoyable experience. From the bottom of my heart thank you SO much. It is not often my dad is able to leave the nursing home and this meal/experience meant so much to all of us. To top of it off, of course the food was delicious and plentiful! We had the chicken tikka masala and 2 other chicken dishes I can't remember the names of but they were excellent along with the garlic and onion naan. Presentation was excellent and service was impeccable. Thank you again, I would 100000% recommend this restaurant to anyone in the area.

Goat curry with basmati rice, daal, goat biryani
K Y.

The food is incredible! The mild goat curry was so delicious and came with a fragrant bowl of basmati rice. The daal (lentils) are a great side dish. The naan is so fluffy and goes excellent with any saucy dish. The service is wonderful and the restaurant is welcoming and comfy.

Chicken tikka masala lunch special
Anna L.

Affordable lunch specials with decent tasting food. I had the chicken tikka masala lunch special which comes with rice, naan, and daal. There isn't much of the entree, they provide more rice, but it is the perfect amount to eat with the rice and naan. The chicken tikka masala was good, but the chicken pieces are a bit bland. The daal is on the watery side but is nice and light. Not bad for the price. They even threw in a little bit of extras.

First time ordering food from them. I called to ask questions food availability and the person who picked up was helpful and friendly. I was going to place my order through DoorDash to get a little discount, but the item I wanted wasn't on the site. He offered to place my order on phone and beat the discount which was awesome. Food came pretty quickly, and it was good. Most importantly it came hot. We will definitely return especially if service continues to be this good! I would have been a 5-star review easily except I just prefer my food a bit spicy, so this is definitely a preference thing. I'm sure they are catering to the areas crowd.

Chicken Tikka Masala

Food was EXCELLENT and pickup was super easy! Great covid procedures. When I got there they saw my car and came right outside with my food. I didn't even have to call. I really appreciated this as I am trying to be extra careful with Covid given I have a new baby at home. Ordered chicken tikka masala, palak paneer and Chana masala. All 3 were excellent! I definitely think this is the best Indian food around. I hope this new spot does well! I'll be back for sure.

I can't give them anything less than 5 stars. I saw their ad on Facebook and thought of giving a try. I didn't made a mistake. It's worth a try. Their cauliflower appetiser is mouth watering. Grilled chicken is another recommendation. And finally the MUTTON BIRYANI!! Nothing more nothing less! Highly recommend!

Terrible! The chicken tikka masala was like rubber and the sauce was strange. The shahi paneer was also like rubber.

"A Full Experience from Cocktails to Curry"…read more TAJ Indian Cuisine delivers more than just dinner. It delivers an experience that feels vibrant, thoughtful, and genuinely memorable from start to finish. We started with drinks, including the Mighty Mule, a variety of margaritas, and the Taj Smash, which was easily a standout. Refreshing, well balanced, and beautifully presented, the cocktails were crafted with real attention to detail. The presentation throughout the night, from drinks to appetizers, was impressive and elevated the entire experience. For appetizers, we ordered both the Veggie Samosa and Keema Samosa, and they were excellent. Crisp on the outside with flavorful fillings and paired with vibrant dipping sauces, they set the tone for what was to come. We shared several entrées including the Butter Chicken, Paneer Butter Masala, and Tadka Dal. Every dish was rich, comforting, and deeply flavorful. The spice levels were spot on, giving warmth and complexity without overpowering the palate. The sauces were silky and layered, perfect for scooping up with fresh bread and rice. A major highlight of the evening was our waiter, Dipin. He was charming, attentive, and genuinely kind. He guided us through the menu with confidence and warmth, making sure everything flowed seamlessly. And then the surprise touch that truly set the night apart. My girlfriend received complimentary henna on her hand, beautifully done and completely unexpected. It turned a great meal into a lasting memory.

Taj however has somehow managed (for 10+ years now) to keep a high-end atmosphere, homemade and authentic taste and above all service that rivals the most expensive restaurants in NYC. The food is always perfectly spiced and cooked with the highest quality ingredients. They have northern Indian and southern Indian staples and not only do they clearly mark the vegan items (vs. vegetarian) on their menu, their entire staff is properly trained on understanding all different food preferences and allergies. Needless to say Taj is one of the best restaurants in Stamford that I always enjoy coming back to.

"Bold Flavor, Warm Service, and Comfort on a Plate"…read more Dhabewala Indian Shack delivers vibrant Indian flavors in a casual and welcoming setting that makes you feel comfortable right away. I ordered the Butter Murgh, made with tandoori chicken strips, green chili, bell pepper, and a rich cream based sauce. The chicken was tender and well seasoned, and the sauce struck a nice balance between warmth and subtle sweetness. It was indulgent without feeling too heavy and paired perfectly with basmati rice. My girlfriend had the Dal Tadka, a comforting blend of two lentils finished with burnt garlic and fresh herbs. The garlic added depth and aroma, giving the dish a layered and satisfying flavor. It is a reminder that simple ingredients handled well can be just as impressive as anything else on the menu. We also ordered roti, which was soft, warm, and ideal for scooping up every bit of sauce. It complemented both dishes beautifully and tied the meal together. Service was genuinely warm and welcoming. The staff was attentive without hovering and made the experience feel relaxed and personal. That hospitality goes a long way. The only reason this lands at four stars instead of five is that while everything was very enjoyable, it did not quite cross into unforgettable territory. Still, it is a dependable and flavorful option in Stamford.

We also shared the lasooni gobi, palak paneer and butter chicken. This was my first time ever having butter chicken believe it or not, I found the sauce to have a great depth of flavor but my favorite bite of the night was definitely the lasooni gobi. It was medium spice but was I definitely was able to handle it. I loved every single bite. The palak paneer was good too, but maybe I'd try the chili paneer next time because I found myself avoiding the sauce and the bell peppers and just eating the cheese, so I want to know if I'd like it more in another sauce. The place itself definitely needs some more life inside, it was empty and there was a huge TV playing music videos which was cool but definitely needs a fresh coat of paint, better tablecloths and some nice plates and cups would've been nice, it kinda felt like dining in was discouraged despite having a decent amount of seating. Definitely not as much of a vibe as the place down the street but the food was good!
