My family has been going here since around 2008 and it used to be AMAZING!! But over the years, the taste of the food compared to the exorbitant prices just isn't justified. I met my friend here for lunch today. It really is a good Indian restaurant as long as you don't order the vegetable korma. If you read my reviews, you'll know it's my favorite dish and I'm picky about it. My beef with this restaurant's korma is that they use frozen vegetables- like the kind you get at the grocery store - mixed bags of peas, carrots, and corn. This dish is supposed to have 9 fresh vegetables in it and I'm fine with the frozen peas, but the little cubes of carrots and the corn give it away. Corn has no business in this dish. So today my friend (who is from New Delhi and an excellent cook) asked them in Hindi if they used frozen vegetables. The waiter said they cut them up themselves and freeze them for use later. No they don't. The little cubed carrots and corn give it away. So I ordered lamb saag and garlic naan. He gave us samples of the korma and they did add a few other fresh vegetables to it and their sauce is very good- but no. The lamb saag was fantastic and so was the fresh naan. This was the absolute worst Biryani and malai kofta i have ever had in my entire life! I was excited to order Biryani from paradise considering the name of the brand and i've had good biryani at paradise in Santa Clara. However this was terrible food. I ordered paneer biryani and it had nothing but sweet and bland colored paneer with rice. The onions were not even cooked forget caramelized. There was no salan or raita to go with it also (how can you send biryani without one of these, so dry) The malai kofta had overcooked kofta's and undercook gravy (again onions were raw). Had to throw it out. I never write reviews but this was so bad that i had to take the effort and warn you guys about the overpriced and horrible food. "I am Disappointed" and even that is an understatement. I truly believe i should get a full refund and they should try their food before putting it on the menu for once read more

We ordered goat and chicken Biryani for a take out. We got home and opened the food to find just rice and chunks of chicken--no cilantro, mint , no onions and other masalas. We had the same biryani the night before at a friends place and had all the above. I called the place and the guy was so rude that he started making excuses and asked when did I order the biryani last time. He said that they only put garnish when you order fried rice which was a lie. So instead of accepting the mistake he started arguing and made excuses to cover it up. This place is very isolated and has no (zero) audience other than us when we were here. I being an Indian myself and visiting over a 100 different Indian places would rate this place below average. I was surprised to find a paradise biryani place in Norwalk but was super excited to try it! I tried their chicken biryani and omg it was amazingggggg! The only thing is even their medium spicy was really really spicy! So if you are someone who can't tolerate spicy food, make sure to tell them no spicy or very mild! Their chicken 65 was nothing like how Hyderabadi chicken 65 is suppose to be but it was still good. Should be called chicken tikka or chicken masala instead! Few months ago we ordered veggie kothu paratha for a take out and ended up with a chicken kothu paratha. Normally I'd be glad for this kind of surprise. Unfortunately it was for an elderly vegetarian person - who ended up with this horrible mistake by the chef. I called the restaurant and they apologized. Last week we ordered veg tandoori mixed grill and this time I opened the food box right at the restaurant- to find no veggies but only paneer. These guys seem to not get their take out orders right. Since my last review, I have visited a handful of times, and I now have a new appreciation for Paradise Biryani, beyond the chicken tikka masala, which is still excellent. You much try their Gobi 65, a fried cauliflower dish to die for. Similar to a general Tso's chicken, this cauliflower dish puts those to shame - it is lighter, but still packed with flavor. I ordered a Biryani around 2 weeks back. The biryani was way undercooked and I called the restaurant and informed them. The owner agreed to credit and use the credit to purchase later. I recently called the place and they had no record or idea of this credit. The person at the desk mentioned that he could not reach the owner to confirm the credit, I called again the next day, and still the same response. I have been to this restaurant for many years, but the quality has gone down. The staff is also very not very customer friendly. The three stars are for the biryani itself. Very authentic and great spices. So do yourself a favor and just get takeout! The service however needs improvement. We ordered an appetizer that came out cold and I understand how that can happen at times, but our waiter tried to explain that it was supposed to be that way and then asked if he should just heat it up for us?? We've ordered it at many places and know it shouldn't be cold if it's fresh. Also, at that price point....we shouldn't be getting re heated food. Also we had to ask for service several times despite the fact there were two waiters for three occupied tables. Also the bathroom is not clean and has no decor whatsoever considering how nice the restaurant seems. This restaurant definitely needs a lot of improvement. We catered biryani, mirch ka saalan, and saag paneer for a party. Biryani was excellent, and the saag paneer was different enough from other Indian restaurants that it became a bit hit as well. I personally loved the bite of the spicy mirch saalan, even though I normally cannot handle spicy food. One star off because they gave us raita which looked like murky white colored water with onions. Restaurant itself has poor ambience, neither Indian or Western. We've received small portions on the few times we've ordered from PB. (normally, the great thing about Indian food is that you order one entree, two can split it and sometimes you have leftovers!) No no, not here. What about the accoutrements that usually come with a bag of Indian takeout? Here you'll get no pappadams, no tamarind sauce, not even that spicy onion sauce that you never eat anyways. Nothing but what you ordered. The alternative? Uggghhh, I hate to give Coromandel props, but darn it, they are the safe bet. A little spendy, but you know you won't be dissatisfied. I'm not giving up 100% on this restaurant, but they need to step up their game. There are too many other options in the immediate area. For those unaware, Paradise is a chain of restaurants originating Hyderabad (India) regarded as probablt the best dum biryani in India. Though the flavors and tastes across location s in the US vary a lot, the Norwalk branch is nice and friendly. Best to go for a biryani. I have loved all the appetizers I have tried here, especially the cut mirchi, manchurian. Garlic nan is supreme. Egg curry is a delicacy. The only reason I would not give it a 5-star is that the curries if ordered spicy are not cooked right. Also the paneer subzi comes with too much paneer and not as much sauce. One big tip that yelp is not accurate about, alcohol : Hell yea. There is one of the best Indian beer Haywards 5000 available here. Kingfisher and Taj Mahal (not a beer I have ever hear about in India) are good options too. Pretty good wine list. Had a great dinner wit my team here. I'm always skeptical about trying biryani at an Indian restaurant in America, because I'm always so disappointed. But boy am I glad I tried it here. I got the spicy goat biryani, and it was delicious! At ~$17 it is on the higher end of the spectrum, but it is definitely worth it! One order is more than enough for one person, or it can even be shared amongst two smaller people. The service is bleh, but the food more than makes up for it. Some reviewers have said that the only good thing on the menu is the biryani---I agree that that is very tasty (go easy on the spice level if you're a novice to Indian food), but the garlic naan is simply exquisite. Best South Indian Biryani Spot in Farfield County. Have been here many times and the first thing we order is the Chicken Biryani. This place has many chains across the US and its worth a shot. I have even tried the Jersey City and Edison locations and its the same. Every time we go, we try a new entree along with biryani. Its even good for take outs and the quantity is pretty reasonable for the price. Watch out for Groupon codes for this restaurant. They had a nice lunch buffet which they stopped recently. It must have changed ownership at least once in the last 2 years. Pre covid this was our 'go to' Indian way better than the Indian in Darien for food taste. The issue for many Americans is that they don't know what authentic should taste like - I've been to many parts of India myself and with the family, lived in Asia many years and grew up in England which has a great Indian food scene... it just means Americans love crap like coromandel and think it's nice because it's got tonnes of powder and sugar thrown in! It also seemed generally ok in 2020 but we noticed it had definitely changed ownership- gone was the friendly server/management and the food quality and flavor was going downhill We tried it a few times in 2021 and it was progressively getting worse - more powder less flavor... to the point that in our last try in November 2021 we just said 'enough' never again.
