People get pressured by their selling dealer's finance dept. to buy an extended warranty from them, at a major markup. But Curry sells so many on-line, in person and over the phone, they can offer a HUGE savings. Josh is awesome to work with on buying, canceling these Honda Care warranties and makes it so easy. From Great to Awful! I recently had a superb oil change and tire rotation at Curry. I left with a packet of suggested repairs totalling over $7200. I took the vehicle to my local mechanic and Not one thing on the list was truthful!!!! All lies! I am very disappointed in their evaluation of my vehicle. Talk about up selling! The salesroom and lot are clean. The service receiving area is neat and hi tech (barring the squeaky garage doors) However, I'm not a fan of the service writer's use of coercive language in regards to issues with my car. "Your airbag light is on. That means you won't pass for inspection." (Incorrect, SRS only fails inspection up to 10 years, my car is 13 years old) "That means if you get in an accident and somebody hits you going a hundred miles an hour, the airbags won't go off and you will DIE." Then when I came back to pick up my car, the cashier was VERY rude. Sorry, I don't know how to do your job so I can't do it for you. Sorry, I interrupted your gossip time with the porter. A classic case of "if you don't like your job, go somewhere else." The porter goes out and brings my car thru, and as I'm going to get in, the service writer came over yelling about my exhaust. I said, "Yep, I know the exhaust rattles, I already have the parts." He got offended and turned on his heel. My exhaust rattles like an old Cavalier, it's hard to miss the incessant clatter of the broken flange hanger. But I wasn't going to throw hundreds of dollars in exhaustwork at a car that might be slated for death from the safety recalls it was in Curry's care for. This was my first time coming in as a customer; I used to frequent the parts department and they were always great over there. But I left with a bad taste in my mouth after dealing with service. Unless another recall comes up, I won't be coming back to Curry anytime soon. read more

My review is in response to their service department. I was in a jam and couldn't get the back window on my Honda Pilot open while working a show in brimfield ma. I drove the car in at 2 pm and they fit me in to help me out even though they were already booked out for the next couple of days. They also tried to help me get my window repaired sooner than I was able to, great communication and very nice people. I would recommend 100 times over. read more

My car abruptly broke down on a busy road from a transmission issue that was apparently a well known issue in my cars make and model. I was never alerted to this manufacturing flaw personally. Curry Honda refused to cover the repair because the car was barely out of just one of the warranty criteria. Their rationale for refusing a "good will repair" was that I hadn't had the car serviced at Honda recently. They wouldn't even look at my documentation of regular maintenance from outside mechanics. The quote that they gave me for the repair at the Honda dealership was more than $2,500 over what I was quoted by an outside mechanic. I would never recommend or trust this Honda branch or Honda in general after this ordeal. read more

Had placed a deposit on a new car and had a verbal agreement to use a different credit union with a better rate. Received a phone call days later saying that the financing "had to go through them", which meant a higher rate. Went in the following day to get the deposit back (FYI - I didn't appreciate the look/eye roll that we received from one of the workers because we were choosing to wear masks) and was told by the finance manager that she "had no idea what happened on her day off." Got the deposit back and bought a new car at another local dealership that afternoon, who was more than willing to go through my credit union. Is this how you treat a customer who has been coming to your dealership to purchase and service their car for 15 years? read more

Went to look into getting a car and the salesman was the least helpful that I've had in decades. I was looking to lease and although what was available wasn't what I wanted, there was limited attempt to even suggest anything else. Awkward silences, interaction to even entice us. I thought this was the oddest encounter ever. We had a significant down payment to offer, credit is over 760 and we were wide open for at least some assistance. Brought my car in June 16, 2022 for a torque converter replacement. The part was on backorder. The warranty expired July 12, 2022. The part came in August 4, 2022, which I found out about by a letter in the mail. I had reminded Brandon on every phone call checking on the part that the warranty was expiring in July. I finally heard from him on August 16. Every call to Brandon he had to check with his boss, check his email, check with the Honda rep, said he would call me back, rarely would. At one point I called Curry and asked for Brandon's boss. They gave me to Pedro, where I left a message, but I found out later he is NOT Brandon's boss. Finally talked to Brandon's boss Jason who told me I must have misunderstood Brandon when I thought the car would be fixed under the warranty. Final decision: they would repair my car with "good will assistance" but I would have to pay a $1,000 deductible. read more

There was no pressure to buy a car - just friendly informative conversation! He gave me a lot of information about Hybrid vehicles. I went to the dealership by myself and it was a truly great experience. I have not bought a car in a number of years so I was concerned that I would be pressured but that was not the case at all. My fiancé and I bought both our Honda Pilot and Accord here in the past two years. We actually really like this place. They are reasonable and really easy to work with. They do not make me feel like I am getting attacked by vultures. I have had a really great experience here, no joke. We book our scheduled oil change and maintenance here also. The prices are reasonable and the customer service is exceptional. There is a nice waiting area you can hang out at while you are waiting on your vehicle. There is free wifi, TV, comfortable chairs, a tiny play area for young kids, free popcorn, coffee and tea. If you forget your Ipad, they have one for you to borrow. Isn't that sweet? Once you are done, you also get a voucher for a free car wash! My favorite, lol. This place is clean and they really take care of you. I totally recommend this place!!! read more

I found myself halfway through a 300 mile road trip when the splash shield on my civic loosened, caught a metal road construction sheet, and dragged horribly on the highway. I pulled off, quickly found Curry, and made a very slow, blinking hazard lights drive over to them 6 miles from where I was stuck. Obviously when something like this happens to you and you're alone this can be a very stressful thing. I pulled into the Curry Honda service bay and was greeted so warmly by the tech and the service manager. They quickly assessed the situation made a recommendation to remove the heat shield entirely given the remaining distance of my trip and had it off within 15 minutes. It was so nice to have someone looking out for me and my safety for the rest of the 200 mile journey. I can't thank them enough and they refused be thanked with money but I appreciate it very much I'll pay this good deed forward! read more

If you're looking to get an oil change and have an employee steal your dip stick and replace it with an old rusty one that's neon orange and that will destroy your oil and ruin the engine then this is just the place for you! i called and asked to get the issue fixed and left my phone number but nothing yet, its been 4 days. Warning to all - avoid Curry! No stars isn't an option or that's what they would get. I bought my car in September from Curry, brand new, 2018 with 17 miles on it. Had my first oil change on March 7th and was told my car had a recall that would take a few hours that I didn't have that day to sit around there. Dropped my car off today and three hours later it was ready.... My car felt cold so I changed the heat to the upper vents to feel it. Cold air blowing at 70 degrees. Keep going with temperature and fan speed - no heat til 80 degrees. This is my second CRV with my first brand new in 2011 and both had heat at 70 degrees with my car having heat that morning at 70 degrees. I call and my service advisor says you probably have your AC on; nope I checked that. He says I can come back for a quick look over. I get there and for thirty minutes I'm repeatedly told that all Honda's heat doesn't start until 80 degrees. They only reach in and feel the vent by my driver side door - that was my look over. I'm told the heat I had for 9 years at 70 degrees never existed; this was parroted by the shop manager. Then to top it off they drive in a 2018 CRV from the outside, put it at 70 degrees and tell me feel, no heat. I was born at night but not last night - the car isn't warmed up yet. I point all of this out and also point out that we are talking about my car here and no mention of making an appointment or touching my car which I'm told, "we can't fix something that isn't wrong". So I have a $600/month car payment for five years on a vehicle I got less than six months ago with no heat until 80 degrees that maxes out at 86 degrees... Clearly Curry has done something wrong and because it was a free service won't own up to it. I now have to go to another Honda service place to get it fixed out of pocket. Those two men or very lucky I'm a blue collar worker as well...I've decided not to post the video of today. read more

I wasn't excited to buy my last car. Infact, im never excited to buy a car. Why is that you might ask? The sale of the car is usually what ruins it for me. Having to deal with a dealership is usually something that everyone dreads. When i decided to shop for my new car Curry was one of the many places i stopped. Each place i left either didnt have the year i wanted or the salesmen was trying to sell me something different. It blows my mind that i have to explain that i already know what car i want to buy and when they realize that they dont have the car that you want, they go ahead and try to sell you something different. Driving by Curry i saw the car in the color and year i had been looking for. The car was mint. As a salesmen approached he was not pushy at all. We took it for a test drive, negotiated a fair price and the deal was closed. Curry has a really great staff line up, I was introduced to the service dept and everyone seemed friendly in there too. I will probably hold on to this car for a long time, but when the time comes to purchase another car, i will be back here first and last, I will not be revisiting the places i had stopped at before Curry. read more

This is a review of their body shop. I brought my Honda in for a mechanical repair. In the process a tool was dropped on the hood. They offered to repair and repaint the hood. I took the offer. One year later the paint cracked. I went back, and only after 3 trips and having to contact the owner of the dealership was it repaired. Now 12 months after the second repair the paint in the same location is cracked AGAIN. It's quite obvious that in both cases the hood was not properly prepared for painting. I purchased this car new. The original paint had never been "broken". Another repair shop just told me the repair will cost $600.00. PLEASE don't go here unless you want poor workmanship and a battle with the management. Went there to specifically look to lease a CRV. As it turned out we didn't care for the vehicle. What really didn't help however was the arrogance of the salesman. Not only did he look down on us, he wouldn't budge on any lease terms. When we asked about a trade in for my car, which I admit was old, he reached in his pocket and handed me a dollars worth of change. I was so insulted I didn't know what to say. Maybe you could get good treatment there if you have money to burn, but otherwise I would never go back. read more

I was initially interested in the special they had on the repossessed vehicles for what they say are amazing deals (they really aren't). After realizing they weren't and I could get a brand new vehicle for the same price, I asked for information regarding a new vehicle. I had initially spoken with the internet team and submitted my information regarding appraising my car (which I owned outright). I was clear in my email to the internet team about my situation so they knew what they were dealing with. My credit is on the low side, although I found out its about average for the average consumer. I had done my research before I got there and I have purchased many vehicles before this so I have a pretty good idea what I was doing (plus I brought my Dad with me for an extra set of ears). The sales person was great, the management not so much. They low balled my trade in, I had looked on kbb.com and knew a range of what my car was worth, they low balled me by a lot. Finally they were going to give me what I wanted for my trade. I had initially told them a figure I only wanted to pay a month and I didn't want a really long term loan. They asked me if I had a co-signer and I said no, then I said maybe I had one, as soon as I said that they began to be extremely pushy with getting this person to sign. I said it's not something I can do this minute, and they asked me if I could call this person and I was like um no, The General Sales Manager Rick Gordon, came over and talked to me with the sales person and was cocky, and basically asked me what he could do to sell me the car. I told him that the prices they gave me were not in my budget and they started pushing the co signer. I said that we both know that since my credit isn't great my apr isn't going to be low and the monthly payments they gave me were based on a lower apr. He then said listen, you guys came here to buy a car I didn't ask you to come here, I said I know but I also know how to buy cars and he said yeah well so do I. Then he said I think what you just said (that I know how to buy cars and this isn't my first rodeo), is insulting and then looked to my dad looking for agreement, which of course my Dad wasn't giving. I didn't insult him or the business, I just was upfront and said that this isn't going to work and he proceeded to turn the entire thing around on me because he couldn't make a deal. Well now, you really didn't make a deal, I will never, ever go back to this dealership, EVER! And this isn't the end of my reviews of this dealership. I will be going elsewhere! I recently bought a car from Curry Honda, and overall it was a positive experience. We got a great deal (partially because they advertise special deals for vets) and excellent service from everyone we met. I give three stars, however, because there was still a fair amount of typical car dealership haggling (specifically around our trade in), and every step of the car buying process took FOREVER. We had to go in three different times before the car was bought, financed and inspected, and each trip took approx. an hour or more longer than we anticipated. If they could speed things up and show more respect for customer's time, I would gladly fork over at least one more star. read more

Curry Honda has the worst service department in the area. I had a 9:00 AM appointment and dropped my car off the night before to be sure I would make it to work on time. I got a call at noon saying my car was done. I got to Curry Honda and MY CAR HAD STILL NOT BEEN TAKEN IN. I had to call out of work and I didn't get my car back until 4:30. Pedro, a service provider, assured me that my wait would not be long yet I was STUCK at Curry Honda from 12:30 until 4:30. This was my third experience at Curry, I WILL NEVER GO THERE AGAIN. I am not even sure I want to buy cars there anymore even though their sales department is awesome!! Heads up, You will wait and they will try to up sell You. Shitty service, shitty experience. BTW, for people who don't actually post reviews, Curry has a pretty templated experience comment about COVID making their service slower. UNTRUE. This review is way overdue. I bought my first vehicle here (after conquering a lifelong fear of driving...living in LA for 15 years didn't help...). Wonderful service and friendly people. I had a horrible experience with the "other Honda" in W. Springfield (locals know exactly what I mean). I hadn't used credit cards in years and, unbeknownst to me, my credit history dropped off and became a bank slate. Unlike the "other Honda" in W. Springfield, Curry Honda most certainly didn't imply that it's a sign that I might be engaged in illegal activity (aka money-laundering). I do own a house (no mortgage) thanks to an inheritance. For the "other Honda" that was a "red flag"! Christian Vincelette was very helpful and accommodating as was Ron in Finance Dept. I would definitely refer anyone looking to buy a Honda to go to Curry. read more

My family and I were driving across the country in our 2013 CRV (33,000 miles) and we had a flashing engine light error in Holyoke at 2:30 pm. We limped in to a parking lot and called the local shop, Curry Honda and told them our problem - family of 5, 1800 miles from home, traveling and it was 90 degrees outside at the time. We were told "make an appointment maybe we can see you in a day or two". This same story was repeated at two OTHER dealerships near Holyoke as well. We had AAA tow the CRV to Connecticut where the car was seen, diagnosed and repaired and we were back on the road the next day (one night in a motel 6) with no charge as the car is under warranty. I'm not unrealistic, I don't expect a promise of immediate repair for a car that the dealership has never seen. Because of the circumstances though I do expect that the dealership could find a slot to run a diagnostic on the car so that we would have some idea how long I'd be keeping my family in a motel waiting for a mechanic. I'd also expect some mention of a loaner car which, in this case, we would have refused since there were motels quite close to Curry Honda. Blowing off travelers makes your dealership look bad and Honda as a brand look bad. Curry Honda should be ashamed of themselves and change their policy on stranded customers. read more

Went into Curry Honda to look at a HR-V. I was directed to Christian Vincelette and he was great. I told him what I was looking for and he showed me that model, no pressure, no trying to talk me into a different or more expensive model, just straight forward information. They gave me what I wanted for my trade in and it was a done deal. Simple, easy and fast. I would recommend Curry Honda and Christian to anyone looing for a car. read more

I purchased a used car with 6,000 miles for $18,000. During the purchase process I pointed out two large cuts on the sidewall of the right front tire. It looked unsafe to me, and the sales rep said he would have the service manager look at it. When I returned to pick up the car, they took care of it all right. They remounted the tires from the right front (outside), to the left front (inside) so the large gash was on the inside where it couldn't be seen. All they did was hide the safety issue. I'll post picture in my yelp review. What really annoys me beyond the fact that they simply hid this, was the fact they did this on a front tire, in which a blowout could cause a crash. They could have at least put it in back where a blowout would be less dangerous. This kind of behavior might be expected by a shady used car lot, but certainly not the kind of behavior I would expect from a dealer. Bret the sales rep was great to work with, however the whole dealership gets 1 star for ethics. The service manager should be ashamed of himself for pulling these antics. The mechanic who switched the tires should also be ashamed of himself for doing this. ****Update: The service manager did call me and offer to replace the tire. While I did appreciate the offer to replace the tire, what I did not hear in the conversation was that he addressed the issue with his service staff. I did not go back to have the tire replaced, but felt I should at least acknowledge the offer and update the review. read more
