I seldom write reviews, but I am so frustrated by the service department that I thought someone should know. - Called on a Saturday at 9:00 AM to make an appointment for service an see if it was covered under the warranty plan that I bought with my 2021 Mazda 6. - The person was kind but could not access my warranty info. - He transferred me to someone else and mistakenly send me back to the beginning of the system. - Again I got to service and met another man who told me that my warranty info was not in his system. When I told him that I purchased it in NH at Werner (loved them) he told me that the must be a private warranty sold by Warner. - I called Warner. In 30 seconds they pulled up my account and confirmed that I have a Mazda Platinum warranty. They could no understand why Balise could not find it. - At 10:10 I called Balise back and after a long hold I was told that I could leave my phone number and the correct person would call right back. - At 11:55 I still had not heard back so I called. The same person answered and was surprised that I had not heard back. After a long hold he told me that he could get no one and they close at 12:00. Call Monday. I'm the customer story that you hear about where you spend 20 grand on a car and after that it's smell you later. After we closed the deal by phone I was told to bring my checkbook and I was like what for but then the manager brought me in about all the extended warranty options and the reason I bought the car was that it was reliable. If I'd been given 10 minutes about how the car operated it would have saved me tons of headaches because I got stuck in accessory mode and it took a whole week out of my life. Then I couldn't get any response forgetting a simple $35 check as a refund for my inspection and it took six weeks and multiple follow-up calls to get it going. Smell you later indeed. read more

I had to replace my ABS Control Unit recently on my Mazda 5. Being a rather expensive part, I shopped around both locally and online. First of all, Balise was the only company to ask for my VIN number before looking up the part, just to be sure I was getting the correct unit. The part had to be ordered and arrived the next day, amazing service during these Covid times! I arranged for them to do the install as well as the labor was more than fair for a pretty big job. When I dropped off my car I was supplied with a brand new loaner for the day - a nice surprise. Come to find out there were some programming issues and the car had to stay at Balise over the weekend. The loaner was offered till my car was fixed so I had transportation. When the car was fixed and ready for pick up there were no surprises on the bill, just what they said it would be. Pedro, one the service department managers, could not have been more professional or helpful. By the way, I drove 2.5 hours round trip to Balise. They are worth the ride from anywhere! read more

Unfortunately my interactions with Balise Mazda have left nothing but a sour taste in my mouth. I tried to set up an appointment to come in to purchase a new Mazda via their email service on a Sunday night. I was emailed back and asked if I could setup a time to talk on the phone Monday. I agreed but the call never came. I emailed them again, was promised another phone call, and still-nothing. This went on for an entire week. Finally, I physically went into the dealership. I knew the exact car I was looking for in their inventory and was in a time crunch so I asked if I could skip straight to talking numbers with the sales manager. After sitting there for some time, I was informed that the sales manager would not even discuss numbers unless I committed to spending more time at the dealership. The entire time I had been very upfront that I had a limited amount of time to talk. When they asked me to stay longer, I explained that while I would love to spend more time there, I had tried to setup a meeting for the past week but the dealership never replied. I asked the sales manager to call me with an offer and had to leave. I got a phone call from the sales person who had been helping me-she said, again, that the sales manager would not discuss numbers unless I came back in. I asked her to have the sales manager call me, and she promised that he would. Shocker-he didn't. I have bought 2 mazdas brand new over the past six years and I have never been treated so poorly. If the sales process is any indication of the level of service Balise Mazda provides, I would not shop here period. Shop at Autex Mazda in Keene, NH. Shop at Liberty Mazda in Hartford, CT. I had my Miata in for its 20,000 mile oil change and tire rotation. The service manager informed me that on my next service I would need front brakes pads and new rotors. Total BS on the rotors; the service manager said they might be able to turn them if there was enough thickness left, but he gave me an estimate of $432.00. Even if the pads have worn down quickly (and I am confirming that with another mechanic), the brakes are still serviceable, and the rotors are not yet scored. If the pads were in danger of damaging the rotors, they should have changed them today to avoid future damage. These guys have lost all credibility with me, and I will absolutely never use their service department again - or buy a car from them ever again. Too bad, I was hoping for better. read more

She was friendly to work with, didn't apply too much pressure and tried her best to work with me on a deal. Unfortunately it didn't work out and I ended up going with a different car, but I would recommend working with her to others. She even followed up a few days after I left. Ive been car shopping since the start of the year, visited many car dealerships besides Mazda, and I had the worst experience with this particular dealership. Negotiation is not an option with this place even if you come with a big down payment of 50% or more of car value. The second they'll present you with paperwork to show what numbers you'd be working with they'll make sure to "x" the spot where you'd sign your life away. They are very prompt and pushy about 'closing the deal". Least to say; their unwillingness to work with you, pushiness, and lack of knowledge about their vehicles made me very uncomfortable. FOR THE FEMALE SHOPPERS: if you plan on visiting this dealership(I strongly not recommend), bring a male with you. The way they go about their female and male shoppers is differential. Its 2020 and sexism is a huge problem. My husband and I found ourselves needing to replace my car, and spent a good deal of time looking online for cars, researching makes and models for the features and reliability we need, and found ourselves at this dealership to look at a used Kia. Let me tell you, the easiest choice we have ever made. Their salesman, Justin, showed us everything we needed to know about the car and answered all our questions. But he didn't push the sale, rather allowing us to experience the car at our pace. He had the perfect balance of knowledgeable salesmanship, and laid back attitude we need in a sales person. He was friendly, and made us comfortable. He didn't make us feel rushed, and was quick to produce the car fax and all the other information we needed to make a decision. We left and went to look at other cars, but the experience (and the fact we LOVED this used Kia. It was a wonderful deal, and a very well cared for used car) had us back by the end of the day check in hand. I would HIGHLY recommend this dealership. read more

Several weeks ago I went to look at a new Mazda. I test drove it, loved it, went home to think about it overnight, crunched the numbers and came back the next day nearly ready to sign on the dotted line- that is until they came back with my trade-in value for my then-current car. I had done my research, both on several websites and with several other dealers, and knew that my car was worth more than they were offering. I told the salesman that I wanted at least $500 more for my trade-in (a moderately-conditioned luxury car with all of the bells and whistles, that had been valued higher at all other locations). The salesman then went back to speak to the finance manager, "Rich" who then came out to speak with me (my boyfriend was also with me). RICH WAS INCREDIBLY RUDE FROM THE MOMENT HE WALKED OVER. Condescending and argumentative are the tip of the iceberg with this guy. He had a snarky comeback for every single thing we said, whether I was telling him that my car had been valued higher everywhere else I went, or even when we pointed out that my boyfriend, who had purchased a car there only months before, had traded in a dented, rusted, piece of garbage which would never pass inspection with no power steering left, for which they had paid him $2000 (he said that was because it was in "July" and not "December"). Based on that and the other valuations I had received, I was convinced that I should be getting at LEAST $500 more for my car. Not only did he disagree, he spoke to us as if we were children (we are both highly educated and in our mid 30's). At no point did he offer a cent more, attempt to compromise, or even nicely say that he couldn't move on the trade-in. Instead, he became ruder by the second, when I would not change my mind about the valuation, he sarcastically spit out "Well-Happy Holidays" and stormed away like a petulant child, without so much as a handshake or an apology that we would be unable to do business together. Now I know why this man does not sell cars. Balise lost two customers that day. Neither me nor my boyfriend will ever be back. And no one we know will ever shop there if they speak to us first. Absolutely awful. A week later, I went to another dealership for the exact same vehicle, with a lower sticker price and negotiated my trade-in value to where I was comfortable I was getting the best price- and they were NICE about it. Beware Balise Mazda service. They're great at finding way to spend thousands of your dollars, but not so good at fixing the problem. For instance 4 new sparkplugs, one broken, and an new fuel pump did not fix my band head gasket. They also returned my car with epoxy holding the fron bumper on rather than the clips the car was designed to use. read more

Dealership in not only is rude but they installed the wrong luggage rack and then proceeded to argue that they sold and installed the correct part despite admitting the part on the vehicle is not the part ordered. After speaking to them numerous times they continue to stall by needing to speak with a manager and then claiming the customer waited to long to address the issue when the customer has documentation that the dealership was stalling and refusing to fix the issue. Don't waste you time at this dealership unless you intend on visiting the Attorney General with your complaints. There are other dealerships for Mazda that are worth the drive. read more

I went to the Sales department this weekend looking to buy both a 2014 Mazda 6 and CX-5, top of the line Grand Touring for both. Each car came above 32,000 K. Didn't really offer any discounts on the car itself save for the loyalty program and 0.9% financing. As a side note, I did purchase a 2003 Mazda 6 (first year it came out) and Balise would not grant me S plan pricing from my employer. I found Modern Motors in CT would grant me this pricing. Therefore, Balise had their work cut out for them in order to make a sale. Not to mention that they did service my '03 Mazda 6 as the CT dealership was just too far for routine maintenance. Every time I went in for a complaint and had them look at it, not once did they agree with me. Each time it was "we couldn't produce the same issue when we took it for a drive". Anyway, back to this weekend. I had told the salesman my prior experience with Balise, that they wouldn't offer me S plan pricing and some other issues. I also stated that I thought buying two cars from them would maybe enable them to offer us an extra discount. So when it came to the point where they stated how much they would offer our used cars (aforementioned Mazda 6 and VW Passat), they low balled us about 2,000 per car. When I objected and stated I wanted the Fair Kelley BB value for both, the General Manager came over and only offered an extra 2,000 for the VW. Needless to say we weren't in agreement with his offer in which the GM promptly disappeared and left it up to the poor salesman to show us the door. It just leaves me baffled that the deal didn't work over trade in used car values. They didn't care that they were going to sell two cars at the end of the year and offered no real discount over MSRP. When I mentioned Fair Purchase price say from Edmund's or Kelley BB - those prices were promptly dismissed as being unfair and severely under priced and that Balise give you the best price possible. I am beginning to think most people take whatever price Balise gives them and are happy with it; what else explains their un-willingness to make sure two cars are sold by the end of the year. I guess I should have remembered their unwillingness to offer S Plan pricing back in 2003 what I was in store for in 2013. Buyer beware for this place read more

My job doesn't allow much phone time so its important to me that the dealer can communicate through email and text. Helped my friend, who had never previously buy a car, with her purchase. She went looking for a pre-owned vehicle and we met with our salesperson Thomas who showed their pre-owned inventory and urged my friend to look into Mazda's incentive of 0% financing for new vehicles. I was skeptical that she would qualify for the promotional financing, but Thomas urged that he was confident she would based on the info she provided. While Thomas was a very nice person, he didn't provide the best information. For example, he explained that if she opted for a longer financing term, the 0% would apply for the first 60 months and the 2.9% would only apply for the final year; however, that was untrue. Ultimately, my friend did not qualify for Mazda's promotional financing, but she opted to purchase a 2013 vehicle anyway. The 4-star review is because I was surprised this dealership was able to get my friend into a brand new car for about the price she had in mind and, other than not being completely upfront, they were extremely kind and helpful. read more

I have to give Balise Mazda just three stars. We purchased a 2015 GMC Terrain from them and the satellite radio wasn't working. We didn't know this when we purchased it because we knew we would have to sign up to activate it. We brought it in twice and was told the radio and antenna was fine but the signal was bad. Well, we knew that was not true because we had three previous vehicles with satellite and we never had a problem. Balise just didn't want to get involved. In addition to the radio problem there was problems with all of the digital read outs, however Balise said they were fine. We were getting on the average approximately 14 MPG and Balise blamed that onto how we drove which was not true. Six weeks later we traded the Terrain in because we were spending a lot of money on gas and purchased a 2018 Nissan Kicks which is awesome. We are having no problem with satellite which I knew we wouldn't, and it tuned in immediately. Our Terrain definitely had a problem which Balise blamed on "the signal" which was hogwash! I feel badly for the unsuspecting person that buys it. read more

These guys are liars and crooks! Buyers beware you do NOT want to do business with this dealer. We purchased 2 cars from Balise and have been loyal customers for 10+ years and after an accident they called with a $210 estimate and then 2 hours later called with a $758 estimate. When we got upset that they had not checked out the car thoroughly the first time and things got heated (and admittedly we used some profanities) they refused to fix our car and told us it was unsafe to drive and that we should have it towed. Then when I filed a BBB complaint they were bold faced liars and said that we had refused to have the car serviced. These people put my family at risk in driving an unsafe car and then have the nerve to lie about. Do yourself a favor and stay far away from them.
