It was a relatively empty restaurant and the service was still sloppy. We were asked if we wanted to try out the buffet (which was almost empty), and when we said no, the hostess walked away. We had to wait 10 minutes for a server (there were 2 of them constantly wiping the stack of dishes in a corner and not attending any of the 5 tables of customers). The rice we ordered was hard and uncooked and the replacement they offered was bad too. The curry tasted like masala only. I'd probably tolerate the food if I were very hungry but I wouldn't want to go back because of the pathetic service. When we left, we said thank you to the hostess and she said uh huh. read more

Was craving Indian food so wanted to check out this place that had such great reviews! My bf and I got take-out and ordered: special chicken curry, tandoori platter, and garlic naan. The special chicken curry was pretty good, but wasn't super flavorful. The tandoori platter had a few pieces of meat (chicken and lamb) that were pretty good, but most of the meats were really dry and difficult to eat. The garlic naan was also not very flavorful.... I think this place may be more popular for their daytime buffets, so I would maybe check it out again for that? But.... I doubt I would go back to try it again.... So sad... read more

So glad Curries finally has a sit in restaurant with a buffet! The lunch buffet was about $11 and has a great selection of vegetarian and meat food. The food was fresh and very good. The servers were all very nice and kept checking to make sure everything was okay. The design of the restaurant is great! It's not huge but it's a great size and it's so beautiful inside! We just went there last night based on good reviews we saw in Yelp. We ordered chicken tandoori and lamb beryani. The lamb beryani was delicious but the chicken tandoori was not chicken tandoori at all!!!! I am big fan of chicken tandoori and have tried that in many Indian restaurants. I know it must be red and grilled in tandoor. Our chicken was kind of yellow-orange color without taste of chicken tandoori spice. It was not bad but definitely it wasn't chicken tandoori. As I said we enjoyed of lamb beryani and because of that we ordered another one for to go. Today when I opened the box to eat it, I shocked!!! It wasn't same as what we ate last night. It was just mixed of white and yellow rice with a few pieces of lamb, that's all. The taste and everything was totally different. We also had some lamb beryani left over from last night, and we couldn't even compare them together! Conclusion: They are cheaters, and just serve you with what they have available in the kitchen not what you order!! read more

This place was awesome. I was actually picking up an order for teriyaki next door and I saw that the Indian place next door had new signage. I went in and it smelled and looked divine. I picked up some basmati rice with chicken tikka masala, lamb curry and mutter paneer. I took it home and scarfed it down. It was delightful and creamy. I almost went back to get some more. Needless to say my teriyaki went uneaten that day. I took my food home but the interior of the place was very nice and they tolerated my extremely hyper child well even letting him use the restroom (I know it is a common courtesy but a lot of these strip mall restaurants wouldn't). I highly recommend this place and I will definitely be back. It is a good thing I don't drive to work anymore or I'd be getting super fat at this place everyday at lunch. read more

I have been craving Indian food for a LONG time, but we usually go to this place deep in Lynnwood and I didn't feel like driving all that far. Curries has EXCELLENT Yelp reviews, and although it's on the infamous "Casino Road" I knew I had to try it. I was flying solo last night (hubby went out with his friends), and sure didn't feel like cooking so this fit the bill! I wasn't sure if this was an order-from-the-counter type of place or sit down - seems like it's a bit of both. Anyways, I decided to dine in and relax. The lady who served me could not have been more pleasant. I mean seriously, she could teach a lot of people in the customer service industry! I decided to have a hot chai - I asked about iced, but she said that's something you get from Starbucks and not something they have in India :p. At $1.50, it was surprisingly satisfying in a small coffee mug with just a hint of cardamom. She brought sugar on the side so I could sweeten it to my taste. I scoured the menu, and decided on Bhaigan Bartha, a roasted eggplant dish. The lady took my order, only to return and let me know they were out. I take that as a GOOD sign - must be very tasty! She even went into detail about how they make it in their kitchen! (Side note: I'll have to return to try it, because it sounds to die for). Whenever I'm told the item I am ordering is out, I usually have a hard time deciding again (this really annoys my husband). So, I told her to just surprise me with an entrée off the vegetarian menu. IN addition, I asked if I could have naan instead of rice and she happily made the change. I had no idea what was coming to me, but I kind of like the adventurous aspect. Food came out quickly (about 10-15 minutes) and I was pleasantly surprised with a copper dish full of Aloo Gobi, a potato and cauliflower dish. All I can say is TRY THEIR ALOO GOBI. It was extremely satisfying for a vegetarian dish and the flavors were out of this world. I ate my naan like a pizza, topping it with the Aloo Gobi and it was so good! The naan was buttery and crisp on the outside, and tender and fluffy on the inside. Will I be back? You know it. My husband is leery of it being on Casino Road, but that shouldn't deter anyone from coming here. As I sat there eating off of my paper plate and drinking out of my plastic cup, I contemplated why I allowed myself to actually eat here. I had the most underwhelming feeling as I stepped foot through the doors of this establishment. The food was more like food court quality, not worthy of being called a restaurant. The raita and naan were good though. We waited and waited for tandoori chicken and the moment we handed our card to pay for our meal they had dumped the last bit of tandoori chicken into the buffet. This place has by far the best curry I've ever had in my life. My boyfriend and I both work down the street from here and he suggested getting take out a couple weeks ago. We've been there three times since. It doesn't look like much from the outside, but the food is well worth a trip to West Casino. We decided to take my parents there last night. We both knew exactly what we wanted- them... not so much. One of the waiters (or the owner- I'm unsure) came over and went through the menu with them thoroughly- You could tell he wasn't in a rush which was nice. We got a round of vegetable Samosas before our meal which were fresh out of the fryer with a couple dipping sauces- those were amazing! Everyone got their own curry, garlic naan (except I got roti- whole wheat!) and shared the tandoori sampler. We ordered the Palak Masala (spinach curry with lamb), special curry with lamb, special curry with chicken and Baigan Bharta. All of them were great- no complaints whatsoever. The meat was tender and juicy (not common with Indian restaurants in my experience) and the curries were crazy flavorful. The garlic naan is moist and chewy like it should be- the roti is the same, but less flavorful (that's usually how it is- you sacrifice some flavor when ordering whole wheat- whaddayagunnado). The rice was great too- not too wet and blended well with the curries. The tandori sampler had some different meats on it- I think chicken and lamb. The lamb here was the best lamb I have ever had at a restaurant- no joke. When the waiter came and asked how we liked the meal, we were all very complimentary which led him to tell us that they buy fresh local produce twice a week and fresh (never frozen) meat locally, as well. Here's the best part (in my opinion): They don't add cream to their regular curries or naan. In my experience, the best tasting curries from your average Indian place actually have heavy cream in them. Explains why they're so good and filling, right?? The waiter told us they don't do that. The dish I order (Baigan Bharta) is made of roasted eggplant that is crushed and mixed with spices and vegetables (and some oil, I'm sure). No dairy! You know they're doing something right when the food tastes better than the competitors who actually add fatty dairy to the food. If you're a fan of Indian food OR have never tried it, do it. It's relatively cheap compared to some other places and so worth it. read more

It's probably been 2 years since I've had Indian and I decided to give this place a try since I recently changed my diet to meat-free. I ordered to-go just in case I didn't like it. I told the guy over the phone that I wanted the most popular veggie dish with garlic naan. He ordered me the mutter paneer or something. I got SO hungry after the gym that I just tore into it once I picked it up. The man behind the counter was so nice and told me to pay after my meal. My first bite was extremely hot (not spicy) which is a very good sign with me and it was so f*cking goooooood. I ate the majority of it and saved some for my bf to try and he loved it too. The restaurant is really clean and actual indian people eat there. In my book that means the restaurant is legit af. Can't wait to go there again. read more

Fabulous!! My entire family enjoys our meals here. My 2 year old cannot get enough butter chicken. We recently ate in the restaurants in person for the first time. Previously we have only had this delivered and it has always arrived piping hot. I can't believe it could get any better but in person it was even better. Very nice owner who waited on us. Went here on a recommendation by a friend and was more than pleasantly surprised to find good Indian food in Everett; it was some of the best I've had in Seattle as a whole! We ordered and ate family style: Baigan Bharta, Curries' Special Curry with Chicken, the Navratan Korma, and the Chicken Biryani. Curries' Special Curry was saucy and and more red than brown, and wonderfully buttery. The Chicken Biryani is sort of their version of fried rice, with fennel and other aromatic spices. It was yum. And you'll just have to come in and try their Curries' Special Curry. The owner of the restaurant came and briefly shared his story about how the restaurant started. This is definitely the kind of place that wants to be personable. I have yet to try the all-you-can-eat Sunday buffet (from 12-3) for only $10! Deep and his family treat me and everyone I have seen there like old friends. They are very friendly, open to discuss the food and any questions you have about it. First visit today, on my wife's recommendation. She came based on Yelp reviews, or we would never have been by here. Today we came for the Sunday brunch, an AYCE buffet of 10 dishes for $10. Tandoor chicken was perhaps the best I've ever had. Period. They use never-frozen meat, and marinade for at least 12 hours. All the other items were as good as any, but I could certainly come here and eat only tandoor chicken. Very hospitable, family-run business. No tree nuts on the buffet! Very quiet on Sunday. I am so particular about my Indian food, as having lived in India for a while and Curries is definitely not a bad option at all. I always judge the base of good Indian food vs bad Indian food on their Chicken Tikka Masala. The good ones will have little oil and be creamy and delicious and not taste like it's a can of tomato soup with chicken pieces. And the Curries variety was quite delicious. The owners were great and informative about their food. I also tried the Palak Paneer and Baigan Bhartha, which were both delicious vegetarian options. I also got the garlic naan. All of the food fed me plus 2 hungry boys with plenty left over and the whole bill didn't break my wallet either. I also tried their barfi, Indian dessert bars which were nice as well. They said they got them from Canada and they tasted fresh and pleasant. Overall I really enjoyed my food from here and shall definitely be coming back. The only reason it got a 4 instead of 5 stars is that the location, inside a small strip mall can be a bit hard to find parking and I wish they served their buffet on more days than just on Sunday. read more

This is a little hole in the wall next to a 7-Eleven. The people are very nice and they keep their restaurant very clean, servicing the tables and clearning things when people are immediately done eating. We went there for lunch and got their "Lunch" menu which is basically cafeteria style. The butter chicken was very good. I ordered a samosa and it was amazing and a plus at only $1.25! Hubby and I finally stopped in today for the Sunday buffet. I think there were about a dozen options with an awesome blend of meats and vegetarian dishes that are all sooooo good! The butter chicken was amazing, but so were all of the vegetarian dishes I tried. We left stuffed and completely satisfied. Everything is also kept really fresh and is changed out frequently. There is no chewy, nasty old food here, just delicious food that's about as fresh as if you'd just ordered it. Also, for a buffet where you serve yourself, the employees were incredibly nice and helpful. They were on top of refilling the food and water pitcher while also offering help with whatever questions someone might have. This little "hole in the wall" is the best Indian food I've eaten, maybe ever. Don't dismiss this place because it's tiny and in a terrible location. I had the butter chicken with rice and naan. It's was the perfect blend of spices and flavor, and they do not skimp on the chicken. I also tried the samosas. All I can say is, YUM! It definitely satisfied my Indian food craving. I originally went to Curries quite some time ago and recently went back to give it a try after having explored some more Indian restaurants up north in surrey BC (so much amazing Indian food). Originally I had thought this place was pretty good, but after having expanded my spectrum of Indian food I was left disappointed this time. This place is also not strictly vegetarian like it says in the category, they serve chicken and other meat dishes. Rest aside Indian food always has plenty of great vegetarian options which I absolutely love about this food. For my food I ordered the channa masala and malai kofta (two dishes that are easy to gauge taste wise between Indian restaurants). The masala seemed overly cheesy to my liking and with only 4 cheese balls seemed like a small portion compared to many other Indian restaurants I've tried. I thought the sauce was too creamy and it lacked the taste I was craving. The kofta was better, but again not as delicious as other places I've been. The portion as well is smaller than the price implies and they should give more food for how much you pay. I also am not a huge fan of this rice, I ordered naan separate, but I'd wish I could just swap them out and ditch the rice altogether. Upon checkout the man ringing me up also snuck an extra dollar charge onto each dish for some reason, making me spend over $20 for two entrees that aren't very big. I'm not sure if it was because I asked for naan, but regardless I felt ripped off by his action to charge above the asking price. Upon exiting he told me that he'd love to hear how it compared to Surrey indian food, I don't think I'll be back to be able to tell him it was a sad attempt and not even comparable to the delicious authentic Indian food found in Surrey. I'd love him to go up there and learn there pricing system and recipes, he could learn a lot. They charge less with bigger portions and the food is 5x better. It's like comparing Taco Bell to real authentic Mexican food, there's too much that is wrong to find anything that is right. I won't be back, instead I'll wait till I'm back in Canada next time to get quality, delicious, appropriately priced Indian cuisine! read more

I've been ordering from Curries for the last couple weeks to figure out if the food was really this good, or if I just happened to order the best thing on my first time -- I'm happy to say it turns out everything is amazing. Curries is probably my favorite spot to get delivery from, it's extremely refreshing to find a place in Everett with so much flavor, as most places I've visited have been confusingly shy of using bold seasonings. The Chicken Tikka Masala, Chicken Korma, Butter Chicken and Palak Paneer are all some of my favorites, of course I'd suggest getting some naan to soak up whatever is left and some samosas if you're feeling like snacking on something more hearty. For the price you get pretty sizable portions, and best of all their delivery fee is very low relative to other restaurants in the area. Once things calm down I'll definitely go in and see the place myself. If you're in the area and aren't shy of some spices, I'd say Curries is a must try. read more
