It's good coffee (they use broadsheet) and waffles, but the shop is very dirty which was unappealing. There's a cow head mantle over the espresso machine covered in a thick layer of dust and dead/dying plants with spider webs all around the shop. read more

Their waffles are worse than the frozen ones at Trader Joe's. Their previous (or current) policy of ordering a gross coffee or tea, making you create an account, enter your address and credit card details for a tiny $5 iced coffee that wasn't poured until waiting the 20 minutes you were told--terrible. read more

Love love LOVED the smash burgers, totally worth the cab ride all the way to Cambridge to snag some. Truly very very good. I was a little disappointed by the wine experience though, as the glasses were very VERY small, but you were still paying full price for an entire glass of wine like a regular sit down classy dining establishment. I don't mind paying full price at all, however it is a bummer to pay full price for 2 glasses that really put together are just 1 glass. It's a bit offensive to charge so much for a very, very short pour. Go for the burgers but skip the wine. read more

I've had this place bookmarked for the longest time. I'm a sucker for cute local coffee shops, and I've already been to a majority of the ones in Boston-none of which I liked enough to go regularly. I came here on a Tuesday around 9:45am (purposely post morning coffee rush hour). Of course, I ordered a liege waffle, and a cortado to accompany it. There was no line when I entered, but a majority of the seats were already taken. I still managed to find a seat by the window. I had NO idea how life-changing a waffle could be! Perfect batter taste, just enough sweet, and the random bites of the pearl sugar just makes these waffles the perfect little breakfast that is definitely indulgent, but not overdoing it. Each one is made fresh, so when you rip it apart, it's steaming and so warm! As for the cortado, I really don't know enough about coffee to be able to say anything credible, but it made the perfect companion to my waffle! The staff here are really cool, and from what I can see, enjoy working there and like their co-workers; in my short half-hour visit, I saw them snapping photos of their beautiful coffee creations, and chat and laugh with not only customers, but also with each other. I wish I lived closer! I would love to make this cute little spot a regular part of my weeks, just for those little pieces of heavenly waffles! read more

Curio Coffee - Cortado is the one in focus in the photo, but the waffle was the star of the show - Coffee & Tea Near Me - Cambridge, Massachusetts

Today I had absolutely unprofessional and uncalled for rude behavior from their barista. Upon sitting I saw a lad forgot her yoga mat so I ran after her and told her. Just when I came back and checked my phone the barista came in SHOUTING DO I WANT MY COFFEE? I get that she may have called my name a few times but it was TOTALLY uncalled for when she was loudly chatting with customers and people at the bar, and in loud music, anddd I wasn't around. Might as well pay some attention around instead of chatting with others loudly if you want to be rude and say no you deserved it coz you were in phone (said the other guy). TLDR; Been a long time customer and the staff is becoming too rude and have preferences about the customers they want to be nice to. KEEP YOUR CALM! Customer, DO NOT COME HERE AND RUIN YOUR MORNING unless you think you are their "preferred" one. read more

The Belgian waffles are the best I've ever had in my life!!!!! Piping hot and fresh with little crystals of sugar....it is gooey goodness. Highly recommend this place for that! But I also love the coffee and latte options, very great taste. The cafe is currently only open for pick-up only and you place your order online on Square. read more

Love this place! It's a treat to get an oat milk latte before work. Appreciate the minimalist, tasteful, decor. Most importantly, they use quality beans, and the baristas have the skill to bring out all the key tones of the bean. Best cup of coffee I've had in MA so far. read more

Great customer service and friendly staff. Drinks are terrific and those waffles are amazing.

I can't say enough good things about Curio! I've been visiting them for a couple of years now, and I was glad to see they are continuing through the pandemic. The shop itself is small and cozy, although right now (in COVID-19), they are take-out only. They have an easy online ordering process, and the staff is always super friendly and helpful. It's clear they have a lot of regulars, and they get to know the people they serve. The real draw, in my opinion, is the waffles. Their liege waffles are thick, fluffy, sweet, and delicious. They pair perfectly with pretty much any coffee or tea drink. Curio uses Broadsheet coffee (a local company) and Counter Culture coffee. Their espresso drinks are well-made and delicious. I also love the chai, which is strong and spicy. You pretty much can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Try their homemade vanilla syrup to make your drinks extra awesome! read more

Those leige waffles are drool-inducing. They are perfectly crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside, and they also do seasonal specialty flavors that are worth coming back for. The place is tiny, however, and since people seem to have heard about it now, it's always packed. It's hard to find a solid coffee shop in Boston that takes their coffee seriously. They serve good coffee from Counter Culture Coffee beans, which are also sold in the shop. I only wish they were open later! read more

Come for the cortado, and stay for the "I'm not a waffle guy, but these are the best waffles I've ever had" waffles.

Cool local place. Good coffee. Great waffles. Everyone knew each other and it was small for sure.

Their waffles are sooo good. The original liege waffle is a Belgian waffle with sprinkled sugar. It's so soft and crispy. Their coffee is also pretty good, but not too special. I would mainly come for their waffles. Inside is pretty small, only a few tables and some bar seating. It's not too loud though, so it's a great place to study if you find a seat. read more

Great coffee, awesome waffles, and good people working there! Seriously, get a waffle... whatever is going on, your day will be a little better for having done so. Seating can be a little short at times but that's common for the area. Open for online orders and takeout during quarantine. read more

It is a coffee shop in Cambridge. It probably had the second best coffee I tried in the Boston area. The microfoam at the top of my latte was very rich and smooth. That texture was consistent throughout the drink. There was a slight bitterness at the top but not much after the initial sips so the extraction of the beans was almost perfect. I also liked the shop itself. There was enough space with tables and seating at the bar to comfortably read. Hands down One of the best coffee shops in New England/Boston/Cambridge Area. We went in on a Saturday morning and this place was crazy busy! Just entering into the shop you can smell amazing coffee and waffles! Yes Waffles! We got couple of Cappuccino's and ordered their waffle of the day - honey rosemary waffle. I am not a big waffle person and was a little reluctant ordering it, but this was one of the best waffles I have ever had. The staff was nice and seemed very knowledgeable about coffee. The Cappuccinos tasted as they should - crisp & soul warming! Overall it was a great experience. I think, this will be our go to coffee place moving forward! And yes! The waffle, we had one more and then we took one to go! read more

The wifi is fast, the staff is friendly, the ambiance is cool and edgy, the coffee is solid (Counter Culture beans, great latte art), and the liege waffles are holy-amazeballs. I was going to pace myself the super cold morning I visited Curio but when they handed me that warm, puffy pillow of a waffle, I just had to inhale it like it was the first food I'd seen all winter. Protip: they do their more elaborate waffles on weekends only, with a rotating menu of creativity. I overhead that in November they do stuffing waffles for Thanksgiving, as well as their typical already-perfect plain waffle. Docking a star here only because it was absolutely freezing in the space. I had meant to camp out to get some work done but couldn't bear to take off my jacket or hat, so ended up leaving. Just as well, as I would have definitely ordered another waffle! read more

I stopped by Curio Coffee for an afternoon latte when I happened to be walking by, and am very glad I did! The staff was very friendly and greeted me the second I walked through the door. Looking around, the shop was very small and every seat was taken when I was there on a Sunday afternoon. However, I was impressed by the fact they'd managed to furnish the space so it still feels open and airy. A My Chemical Romance song was playing in the background, which I found refreshing rather than the usual Nora Jones I would normally expect to hear in a similar coffee shop. I thoroughly enjoyed that their menu was simple and stuck to authentic coffee drinks. I ordered a latte with almond milk and found the flavor of the espresso to be smooth and delicious. The temperature of the milk was a bit cooler than what I would have preferred, but I'm a complete coffee snob, so take that with a grain of salt. Or bean of coffee, in this case. Other than that, a very enjoyable coffee! After reading the other reviews, I cannot wait to come back to try the waffles. read more

The location is a bit out of the way for most things, but once you find it you won't regret it. Small cute cafe that does not have many frills - they serve good coffee and delicious freshly made belgian waffles. Their hot lattes and iced drinks are highly recommended- and their waffles are a MUST get. So good and perfectly sweet, they come out warm and pair amazingly with coffee. I do dislike how some people do "laptop club" on some tables with only one coffee ordered and stay for hours when many customers come in and have to take orders to-go because the seating is limited. Still highly recommend coming here. One of the must visit cafes if visiting Boston. read more

Everything was fine but not great. There are other coffee shops around here that I'd rather frequent.

Yummm this tiny shop is perfect for studying, a date...or a grab and go! Which is what I did. I got an iced coffee and a waffle - sat for a few minutes and read my book. The iced coffee was some of the most caffeinated I've ever had - which is perfect for the morning. The leige waffle came fresh off the grill, PIPING hot, but after a couple minutes it cooled, into a nice, solid waffle. This is good - it had a great bite filled with crisp sugar. Perfect with a coffee. read more

I came here to study on a weekday and really enjoyed my experience here. The place is very minimalistic and refreshing. They have a beautiful plant wall which is super insta worthy haha. They have plugs on their walls as well so if you're in need of charging your electronics, you'll have no problem with that. Seating is limited, there's only 4 tables that seat two people and a couple seats at the bar. The music that day was awesome, they were playing a lot of throwbacks like My Chemical Romance and Paramore. The only downside is that it closes in the early afternoon, I wish it opened longer! They are very nice about having people stay for a while until after they've cleaned up. I ordered a waffle and a chai latte. I thought my chai latte was bland and had no spice to it. Definitely not the best I've had. However, the waffles are TO DIE FOR. It's so buttery, just a good amount of sweet, and dense. It's essentially a glorified doughnut but in waffle form. It's a must have when visiting. read more

I used to live right next to this coffee shop and I'd come in just about every day for a regular waffle and a cup of black coffee. Since moving a mile away, I now drive the opposite direction of work weekly to get my usual order. The 5-star review is mostly for the waffles: its got a melted sugar crunch, soft airy center, and sugar pearls for added texture and sweetness. If you follow their instagram page, they also announce their occasional special waffle flavors like cinnamon, green tea that they do on weekends. For their coffee, they get their beans from outside roasters, which switches every month or so. I recall stumptown, counter culture, so typical coffee shop coffee, nothing special here. And as other reviewers have stated, it gets filled up weekday mornings and weekends...by people like me. read more

MOCHA They make mochas (hot & iced) pretty well. Made with yummy Taza Chocolate. $5. WAFFLE I tried the Liege Waffle before andthought it was just average. I might have liked it more if my expectations weren't high from the prior reviews on Yelp. VIBE Hipster-ish type feel (almost similar to the hipster coffeeshops I frequented in DC). This place is just a few blocks away from my condo and I thought I'd be here everyday .... if it wasn't for the early hours: they close at 2pm on weekdays and 3pm on weekends. This is excellent for early birds, but I typically like to chill at coffeeshops for hours at a time and the hours of work would be limited here. I have 2 main cons. Frist, the size is small, so you have to arrive early to ensure a seat. Second, it is always hot in here (and occasionally musty since the door is frequently shut). Which is great for some, but I prefer it on the cooler side. tl;dr: Hipster early-bird coffeeshop with great mochas. read more

BEST WAFFLE - not what you know or expect, better I'm not a coffee expert, so I'll leave that to the other yelpers. I am, however, more than delighted with these waffles. Don't go in hoping for waffle house or IHOP stlye sweet waffles topped with lots of nonsense. This is a delicious, rich (but not too heavy) street waffle with no toppings but trust me you don't need them. I introduced this place to some coworkers and its really a hit.
