The cheeses on the cheese plate were absolute perfection and when paired with the black pepper toast, divine. Not only was the food out of this world but so were the drinks. Hands down, the best dirty martini I've had in a long time, if not ever. I also tried the Rose Quartz, a gin drink with cardamom, pineapple, lemon, and beets. It was very tough not to order 4 more of those. We ordered the bread pudding for dessert and it was brought out with candles in celebration. When I say the service from each person working was top notch, I truly mean it. Everyone did everything they could to ensure that we were happy. The board was great as always, but don't miss the quail legs...they rock. At $.50 a piece, they are dirt cheap, and a perfect bite. And who doesn't like fresh French fries? Half price wine by the glass was nice too! Our waiter was attentive, and the atmosphere with the blues playing and lots to see on the green made it a lovely experience. Would not recommend. The heritage hog poutine dish was drenched in oil and made our stomachs uneasy. In the heart of the Pearl District, this restaurant is easy to find and nestled in one of the most alluring areas of San Antonio. A Friend of mine and I shared a chacuterie plate with 6 choices and I had a side of fries. I stopped at this spot after visiting the wonderful Pearl on my recent trip to San Antonio, and I immediately fell in love with the atmosphere and menu. When you walk in you're immediately greeted by the rack of curing meats, and everyone that I interacted with on staff was awesome. I got the Chicken Fried Chicken Livers and the Beer Can Mussels, and was floored with both of them. The Chicken Livers were a bit on the spicy side, but it worked wonderfully. The mussels were stellar as well, sitting in a wonderful broth that had little pieces of andouille sausage in it as well. What really won me over was my server Bryan! Just had a terrific dining experience at Cured! I'm really not sure what they could do to not earn 5 stars! We started with the reserve charcuterie plate. Among the favorites were pork butter, smoked duck ham, jalapeño pork rillettes, and 30 day bresaola. For an entree, we shared the 30 day dry aged ribeye. We ordered it medium and it was cooked to perfection. After dinner (and with very little room left in my stomach) we order the bread pudding. It was delicious. I've had lots of bread pudding in my lifetime and this easily ranked towards the top of the list. The service was wonderful and we made friends at the table next to us. Fish was cooked well the salsa gave it more of a Mexican restaurant vibe but worked for the dish. **this was plated beautifully but I probably wouldn't get it again. We started with a 9 piece charcuterie that included 2 cheeses, smoked duck ham, chicken sausage, 30-day pork belly and I can't even tell you the rat because we had the chef pick but every bite was fabulous. They added 2 mustards and a marmalade and tomato option as well. All that you can top on their crisps. It was the perfect combo of meats and seafood plus they started us with an avocado and crab soup which I could have a gallon of. Flavor combos I've never experienced before. The small plates they have a pork cheek poutine. Out of this world amazing. The pickled cauliflower added the perfect zing while the combo and cheese of everything else was something I wish they'd make into a gigantic plate. Truly divine. We also had the BOT which was bacon oyster and tomato on toast with a habanero mayo. It was delicious and had the perfect amount of kick. Overall a wonderful place. My son in law and I tried this place, for brunch, on Saturday after going to the Pearl Market. It was the first time but won't be the last! We shared a 3 choice charcuterie board with 120 day cured pork belly, lamb citrus terrine and dapper goat chèvre with goats milk. It was the perfect start to our experience with delicious cracker, pickled vegetables and a TO DIE for kimchi mustard. I am not a typical fan of kimchi but we both bought a jar to go! We then moved on to the butchers Benedict and the smoked salmon tartine. These were fresh, wonderful flavor profiles and absolutely delicious! I'd read that this is a "must-do" restaurant, not just in San Antonio, but in TEXAS. I can easily see how Cured made it on that short list and has been dubbed "the gem of the Pearl district." Located in what was once the administrative building of the Pearl brewery, the design and finishes pay homage to the original structure, which was built in 1904. Much of the original integrity remain, and everything about the architecture, from the open beamed ceilings to the roughly painted brick feels beautifully intentional yet humbly authentic. But the real star of cured is that charcuterie. In fact, compared to these house-made offerings, any other restaurants that offer cliched store-bought prosciutto and salami should be embarrassed to slap the "charcuterie" label on it. This is the real deal: house-made rilletes, chicken liver mousse, and smoke duck breast are divine in their own right yet are further elevated by their accoutrements, which they make and sell by the jar. We tried the dry-aged ribeye and wedge salad as well and were too stuffed to finish it all in the end. Bottom line: every foodie who visits San Antonio would be remiss if they didn't visit Cured. Based on other reviews, I suspect we may have had a one off experience, so I still have them 4 stars. however we also visited their sister restaurant and had a poor experience. The atmosphere is gorgeous and has lots of energy. The food was tasty, when we received the correct item. We popped in for a drink and didn't realize it was happy hour, much to our surprise and excitement! The menu is limited, no biggie, but the deals were awesome. The server/bartender Jen was really friendly and greeted us immediately. We ordered two drinks and three food items from the happy hour selection. Both drinks (rose quartz and alpine sky) were very tasty. Rose quart was well balanced. Unfortunately, we received a different salad than we ordered. I ordered the heirloom tomato ricotta fried shallot salad. I received something with quinoa and kale. I inquired especially because the menu didn't mention kale, which I detest! Then was told that's the only salad available on happy hour and they just hadn't updated the menu yet, which the servers should have mentioned or known about. I made a solo reservation and was seated in a quieter area with a comfy booth and lots of natural light. I started pouring my own water since a carafe was placed on the table, but was quickly met with an apology and server carrying another water carafe to fill my glass stating that he would take care of that for me. My waiter was very attentive and knowledgeable about the menu especially when I asked him to describe the more obscure-sounding items on the charcuterie menu. I ended up choosing the chèvre cheese, smoked duck ham, and a sausage that had turmeric and some other spices (I was mildly skeptical about this one but it was SO good). The cheese was served in a quinelle shape and was accompanied by two types of mustard, some apples, cantaloupe, pickled watermelon rinds, and two types of fruity puree that very closely resembled applesauce. The watermelon rinds are a bit of an acquired taste and the "applesauces" were an interesting item on a charcuterie board. I would have preferred one applesauce and one puree of a slightly thicker texture to offer some variety. Some of the items I was looking forward that were listed online were not on the menu when I arrived - was really hoping to try the foie gras. Disregarding these small improvement points, the overall board was excellent and the service I received was spot on. My husband and I had dinner at Cured this past week when were in Texas for a family visit. We had a reservation for 7:45 on a Thursday night, and it was busy but not crowded and we were seated right away. The restaurant is very cool on the inside (as I'd expected from how cool the outside of this building is; I've been walking past it and not eating at it for years!) - modern, industrial, played great music, etc. The service was also spectacular; our waiter was very friendly, personable, helpful - as was anyone else who stopped by our table with a plate or a drink. We tried a few things - the reserve charcuterie plate, the golden beet and kale salad, and the charred lamb loin. The charcuterie is what they're know for, and I thought it was pretty good but probably not something I'd order again. It had a lot on it (chicken liver mousse, smoked duck ham, apple jalapeno pork rillettes, 30-day lamb salami, 45-day pork loin, and 60-day coppa, and then bread and lots of mustards, fruit, and preserves), and we added a goat cheese to it. Everything was pretty good, but nothing blew me away, and because there's so much bread involved with cheese and charcuterie, I filled up a lot on just this and then couldn't enjoy other things I wanted to try! The salad was fine - a way to get a vegetable in during a mostly meat meal (I didn't enjoy that the avocado, orange, and beets were all on the bottom of the bowl under the kale, which made it harder to eat and to know what you were getting on your fork, and I thought the citrus vinaigrette was too sweet). The charred lamb loin dish was fantastic, however, and it kept Cured at a four star experience for me even though the rest of the food didn't blow me away. It was served over whipped hominy (the first time I've ever had hominy whipped or pureed, and it worked), wax beans, local mushrooms, and sauce bordelaise. The lamb was perfect (I would say they cooked it to mid-rare, which was great), and the accompaniments were great. A dish I would absolutely eat again. (And I don't see lamb loin that often, so it was a treat! I love lamb!) We didn't have room for dessert unfortunately (all that bread with the charcuterie!), because a couple of them were calling my name (simple soft serve, lemon panna cotta, prickly pear sorbet with mesquite cake crumbles...!). My husband enjoyed one of their cocktails (Ef Tornado), and I enjoyed a Texas wine (Texas Heritage Vineyard's Lizzie). I don't know if I would do that much charcuterie again when it's just for 2 people, but the service, the ambiance, and that lamb will have me going back to Cured sometime soon. The restaurant looks very cool even from the outside. Right when we walked in we saw a glass room of all the cured meats. The bar and dining area all look very nice. We sat at the bar since there was a private event going on and we didn't make any reservation. Service was quick and our waiter gave us some good recommendations.
