His workers were assigned to take care of my mother's yard property in Nuuanu at her Nuuanu house that she used to own, and rent to tenants. I have paid him on a month-to-month basis to have two to three of his workers cut the yard grass at both my mother's Aiea and Nuuanu houses. His workers also happen to service a large property of a condo in the Makiki area, right next to my mother's house. The workers would always lend a hand to clean the driveway of our Makiki house property. All of a sudden one day, kevin and his low-life workers stop servicing our yards in Nuuanu and in Aiea. This happened around three to four years ago. When I called kevin yokomura to ask why his workers stopped coming to service my mom's house in Nuuanu, he never called me back. Kevin, if you're reading this rating, just remember Hawaii is a small island. You do this kind of inservice and ghost-off on your clients, you will get BACHI and bad reputation for doing this to your clients. Hope you guys go out of business! Just remember, you will not be forgotten, for abandoning service without notice.

He set up a schedule and his guys have never missed a date. The yard is well-taken care of and I don't ever have to worry about them not showing up. A few weeks ago I installed security cameras and today was the first time I could watch them in action. They were EXCELLENT! Everything that needed to be done was done. They didn't waste time and I was surprised by some of the things they did because it would be something I would do, but wouldn't expect of a lawn service. I would definitely recommend Oahu Lawn Service!

I found them via another app and they have an excellent rating so I submitted a quote request. They called me soon after I requested the service on Jan 13th and Kainoa came out the next morning to look over my job and provide a quote which I accepted. He said they work in Kailua on Thursdays so we scheduled for the following Thursday, Jan 20th (today). This morning I realized he didn't give me a time frame so I texted him at 11am and he said they had to "fit me in" but they would be here "for sure" "around lunch or a little after". He sits they would definitely call me before coming out. At 4pm they still weren't here but before I could contact him, he called me to say they were running late and wanted to reschedule me for tomorrow morning. Unfortunately, I won't be available tomorrow and didn't feel like having them come over to do work for the first time without me here. Can't comment on their level of work but being a pretty much "no show" and late call to follow up is no Bueno in my book. At least they called but just way too late to do me any good... just wasted my whole day.

We have been over charged and scammed on rain sensors he sold us that we do not want. One was drilled into the from deck of our home without permission. The second one is dangling from the side of our wall after being poorly installed. I am still watering by hand after several weeks of having paid for this poor work. We are reasonable understanding people but being lied to strikes a nerve.

Work was done in 5-1/2 days of the 8 days available for me. Communication was both ways, making sure I knew what was going on and me asking if certain things could be worked into the project.

My contract started on January 17 2026 with a promise of 17 days from start of project to end of project. It is now September and my project is still not finished. To start, Shaun was to submit the package to Gentry Homeowners association to install synthetic grass at my home, but did not explain the details of the work on how it was to drain. The package was disapproved on February 9th. At that time I told Shaun not to do any work on my property (except the tree removal) until the homeowners association approved the work. So he did the tree removal and without approval from me or the homeowners association, dug up the grass in by backyard and attempted to level the area. Even though this was not to my liking at the time we still wanted the service to continue so I wrote and resubmitted the synthetic grass installation package to the homeowners association with a full explanation of service Design Build Landscape had promised me and also gave a copy of the letter to Shaun in good faith letting him know how to submit the package to the homeowners association in the future. Gentry Homeowners Association approved the work on March 23, 2026. I then told Shaun that we were approved to continue the work. Also by this time I had already paid Design Build Landscape about 20,000 of the 40,000 agreed to in the contract. As time went on, Shaun kept asking for things and money for my project and before I knew it I was purchasing items that Design Build Landscape should have been purchasing for this project along with giving Shaun other payments for his work. After reviewing my receipts and checks I see that I paid Design Build landscape over 38,000 of the 40,000 promised in the contract. Once I brought that to his attention and told hime that I would not pay him anymore until the project is completed the work also slowed to a crawl. When workers did show up it was mostly late arrivals and rushed work. Weeks went by with no-one showing up. Instead of making good on the work he began to make excuses like the weather, family issues etc. In short, when the money runs out so does he and you will not hear from him anymore because he ignores your text or has blocked your calls. His team left behind a lot of equipment and trash in my yard. Since hiring Design Build Landscape I have nothing but heart ache with his company. He might do other people right if it is a quick job like a patio or a driveway, but not any big jobs. Like I said early he talks a good game until the money runs out and so does he. The photos were taken on September 2nd 2026 and this is how he left my yard. I guess now that I will clean my own yard and get rid of his Junk. Does anyone want a good tile saw, maybe a few cinder blocks?
