Their crew came out, walked the space with me, and explained how they would build the wall and shape the curve so it would look natural with the yard and the house. They also talked about the base and drainage so it would hold up long-term. The work itself was done efficiently and the crew was easy to work with. They prepped the base, set the blocks carefully, and made sure the curve of the wall flowed nicely along the front of the yard instead of just building a straight line. They kept the job site pretty clean and checked in along the way to make sure everything looked right. The finished wall looks great and really improves the front of the house. It's solid, level, and the curve gives the landscaping a much cleaner look than what was there before. Overall, a very positive experience. If you need retaining wall or landscaping work done, Blessed Construction LLC is definitely worth considering.

I contracted with Kepu in May 2025 to pour and finish a stained, stamped, and sealed concrete driveway, along with the installation of two aluminum gates and fencing. On the last day of the pour, he pressured me to pay the entire final balance upfront--including the gates and fencing--so he could "pay his workers." Against my better judgment, I trusted him. That was a huge mistake. Here's what happened: Substandard Workmanship: Most driveways are poured at 4" thick. Mine was poured at only 2". Reinforcing wire pushed up through the concrete in several places (I have photos). Kepu made several failed attempts to repair it. When I demanded the bad sections be repoured, he began ghosting me and dodging calls. Flaky, Unreliable, and Dishonest: Weeks went by with endless excuses for not showing up. His own vendors even contacted me directly, complaining he wasn't returning equipment he had rented for my job. Only after I threatened to file a RICO complaint with the State of Hawaii did he return--half-heartedly--to reseal the concrete. Poor Final Results: The seal job looks terrible. The color is uneven, large white sandy patches are visible from too much non-slip additive, and there are permanent bucket marks left behind where he rested containers on the wet surface. Unfinished Work & Missing Money: Three months later, Kepu has not installed the gates and fencing. He does not answer phone calls, texts, or emails. After I demanded proof of my gate/fence order, he admitted he canceled it. I told him to refund the money. But never followed through. At this point, he has my money and I have nothing to show for it. I have filed a formal RICO complaint with the State of Hawaii, and I am now preparing to seek legal help to recover damages and the funds I paid him in good faith. If you value your time, money, and sanity, avoid Nohealani Masonry at all costs. I wish I had seen a review like this before I made the mistake of hiring them.

Please stay away! I've had a horrible experience with Loni and his crew. My newly built retaining…read morewall has already suffered multiple cracks and is deteriorating quickly. Additionally, Loni did not complete the project as promised. I've reached out to Loni multiple times for several weeks regarding the issue, only to be flaked on multiple times... Here's my experience in depth: I called multiple companies to receive quotes/bids. Since Loni was one of the fastest and most responsive, I agreed to go with him on 8/3/17. The final bid was $4,000 for a low 40' retaining wall and french drain. This area was a concern for me since it's known to take in alot of rainwater during heavy pours (which I emphasized to Loni). We agreed on a completion date of 8/6/17 -- two full days to complete. Thursday morning (Aug 3rd): Loni and his crew drop off the machinery, cement, sand, and gravel (for the french drain). Friday morning (Aug 4): Loni and his crew dig up, install the rebar, and pour the base of the retaining wall. Saturday morning (Aug 5): Loni texts me early in the morning that he and his crew won't be able make it until next Tuesday. Tuesday (Aug 8): The crew has trouble with their excavator (starts to leak hydraulic fluid every and begins to overheat). The rest of the crew continues to stack the CMU bricks on the wall. In the afternoon I was notified that the wall was not high enough to be leveled throughout the front of the property. I agreed to pay an additional $500 for another layer of CMU. Towards the end of the day, Loni recommended to bypass the french drain all-together claiming that it was it was completely unnecessary (although it was included in the original quote). Although I disagreed with him on the matter, I went with his recommendation to grade the dirt instead. At the end of the day, I paid him $4,500 and received a generic invoice via email (dated for 6/30/17 for some reason). Fast forward a month later, we had our first heavy rain. I went outside to check on the wall and I was shocked to find a huge flow of water eroding away in front of the wall. I frantically made a makeshift dam (with large rocks) to keep the water from further deteriorating the CMU wall and running off all the gravel Loni laid down. I contacted Loni regarding the issue and never heard from him. In September/October, I started to raise my concern with him and got very slow/flaky responses from him). After weeks of back and forth, Loni not only says he's not available for another month (since he's busy), he also wants to charge an additional fee to fix the issue. I've uploaded the picture of the wall as well as my ongoing conversations with Loni (# blurred out in accordance to Yelp's privacy guidelines). I am considering taking this to court.... Summary: -- My CMU wall is deteriorating and cracking (only after a month it was built) -- Loni and his team did not complete the project as promised (did not complete the french drain as agreed upon) -- I paid higher than my original, agreed bid -- The promised completion date was delayed by an additional 3 days for unknown reasons -- Complete Masonry had very poor maintained machinery that overheated and leaked everywhere -- Follow-up service was very poor and Loni refuses to fix the issue.

I'm posting pictures of the job he and his crew did at my house. We hired them to re-do the pool surround/decking. Not only was the job completely sloppy and caused damage to my property, the crew deliberately DUMPED CONCRETE into my pool!!!! They didn't properly protect anything and when they had to re-do the concrete, they pulled chunks off and just dumped it into my pool causing damage and we had to empty the pool and fix it. Even if they were properly licensed, they didn't show up for several days on multiple occasions and we had to ask when they were going to show up several times. Seems to repeat this pattern with other customers. They never completed the job properly and the stain on the concrete looked horrible. Concrete splatter everywhere and just plain sloppy work.

They did a great job tearing up an old cracked concrete driveway and replacing it with new concrete, and did not damage the metal electric gate track. They extended a concrete porch after tearing down an old wall. After each job they cleaned up the area, unlike previous contractors we had used. Things get done on island time on Oahu, but we are happy with the work they have done and would definitely deal with this company again!

After a two-week search, I selected Menora Masonry from four bids for my December 2024 retaining wall and drainage project. Suli, the owner, ran the mini excavator and ensured efficient teamwork during excavator operations Sione was pure strength. He did a lot of the excavating and put up new posts and gates. A lot was accomplished because he had a good work ethic and was trustworthy in every way. Younger Sione, Suli's nephew, executed precise bricklaying while others managed cement mixing. He rebuilt the failing wall sections and also a leaning column with great precision. Task on December 11, 2024: To replace the weak sections of my retaining wall that held the terraced front area of my property. Then run 80 feet of perforated PVC pipe underground along it to relieve the pressure of excess water into an adjoining swale easement. In addition, water in my back garden area, weathered by mauka wind and rain, would pool and seep beneath the slab of my house. Menora jackhammered part of the old walkway and created slope for the water to empty into the same swale easement and away from the foundation. They also built a raised cement barrier along the house. Communication: An area of improvement could have been reviewing our understanding of the planned work in intervals. While communication could improve with mid-project checkpoints (especially during garden water mitigation), post-work cleanup with Suli's son, Suli Jr., revealed excellent attention to detail. The January 2025 storm validated their work - both wall stability and drainage performed flawlessly under heavy wind and rain. I had complete peace of mind for my neighbors below that the wall would hold and not cause damage; and that the garden-side rain would not pool towards the house. I truly appreciate the hard work and effort on the part of Menora Masonry and highly recommend them!
