Our prefabricated shower around the drain had cracked (again) so water was leaking under the unit…read more I reached out and Mason replied very quickly. He patiently answered all my questions, then met with us to go over options. We appreciated his experience and familiarity with old-style single family houses like ours (60 years old). He listened to our needs, wants and available budget. We decided on a "middle" option with full solid acrylic pan (since we did not want another broken prefab floor) and cultured marble walls. He referred us to Naka's Marble whose staff was very friendly and helpful in choosing marble type/color. They worked directly with Mason on our custom floor and walls. Mason kept in constant contact with us regarding his work schedule (and of his subs). He was accommodating, flexible and also good to thinking out of the box. I requested a custom shower niche, so he guided me in designing one which was also fabricated by Naka's Marble. Mason was very clear and upfront about his fees, and warned us way in advance that there would be some extra fees along the way due to things that come up with old houses (like rotted wood, plumbing fixes, etc). MK's prices were very competitive compared to other companies (we had also spoken to two other companies prior) but decided on MK after meeting with Mason. Every part of our renovation process went well. Mason has a wealth of knowledge and seems to have many strong contacts in the industry. He worked super hard to give us our dream bathroom; was patient with us as we were not always decisive at times; and constantly kept professional decorum with friendly local vibes. We are very satisfied with Mason and MK Builders and plan to hire them again for other upcoming home renovations.

Rather than spending over $300k on foundation lifting I opted to just have the low spots filled in with a combination of concrete and self leveling cement. Mason came and assessed the job, added his recommendation and approach and completed the job flawlessly. He is very professional and reliable, shows up when he says and returns calls/messages promptly, which is rare these days. His work proposal is detailed and itemizes all the materials, outlines tasks included as well as what's not included so there's no misunderstandings. Really appreciate the whole experience and the finished product.

My contract started on January 17 2026 with a promise of 17 days from start of project to end of project. It is now September and my project is still not finished. To start, Shaun was to submit the package to Gentry Homeowners association to install synthetic grass at my home, but did not explain the details of the work on how it was to drain. The package was disapproved on February 9th. At that time I told Shaun not to do any work on my property (except the tree removal) until the homeowners association approved the work. So he did the tree removal and without approval from me or the homeowners association, dug up the grass in by backyard and attempted to level the area. Even though this was not to my liking at the time we still wanted the service to continue so I wrote and resubmitted the synthetic grass installation package to the homeowners association with a full explanation of service Design Build Landscape had promised me and also gave a copy of the letter to Shaun in good faith letting him know how to submit the package to the homeowners association in the future. Gentry Homeowners Association approved the work on March 23, 2026. I then told Shaun that we were approved to continue the work. Also by this time I had already paid Design Build Landscape about 20,000 of the 40,000 agreed to in the contract. As time went on, Shaun kept asking for things and money for my project and before I knew it I was purchasing items that Design Build Landscape should have been purchasing for this project along with giving Shaun other payments for his work. After reviewing my receipts and checks I see that I paid Design Build landscape over 38,000 of the 40,000 promised in the contract. Once I brought that to his attention and told hime that I would not pay him anymore until the project is completed the work also slowed to a crawl. When workers did show up it was mostly late arrivals and rushed work. Weeks went by with no-one showing up. Instead of making good on the work he began to make excuses like the weather, family issues etc. In short, when the money runs out so does he and you will not hear from him anymore because he ignores your text or has blocked your calls. His team left behind a lot of equipment and trash in my yard. Since hiring Design Build Landscape I have nothing but heart ache with his company. He might do other people right if it is a quick job like a patio or a driveway, but not any big jobs. Like I said early he talks a good game until the money runs out and so does he. The photos were taken on September 2nd 2026 and this is how he left my yard. I guess now that I will clean my own yard and get rid of his Junk. I recently communicated with Kullee Long to obtain a bid to get my 92-year-old client's irrigation system up and running, per my client's request. According to my client, Bob N., Kullee met with him at his beautiful home on the ridge, quoted $6,400 cash, and stated he would return in 2 days to collect half as a deposit. My client said he asked for his business card, and Kullee said it was in his car and wrote his name and number on a piece of paper. My client called me the next day, concerned because he had nothing in writing and Kullee planned to collect a cash deposit without providing a written scope of work in advance. Since my client does not have an email, he asked me to call Kullee for the estimate on his behalf and I would print it and gladly drive it to my client for Kullee. My client also expressed discomfort, noting he "had an attitude" and no clarity for the $6,400 cost and it was a rush to get a half down. I contacted Kullee and requested if he can please send a written quote, explaining that my client asked for this before he gives Kullee a cash deposit without documentation and approval. During our conversation, Kullee stated he could do the work for $6,400 cash or $1,500 more if it was "on the books if that's what you guys want!" I calmly asked for clarification on the $1,500 difference, he struggled to explain then said "credit card fees and materials etc...", and then became very angry talking tough. My client already told him he was paying cash and that he doesn't like to use his credit card. I reiterated to please send the written quote so my client can review it. Kullee responded rudely and upset, stating he was busy and needed an immediate decision to "keep his workers busy and get paid". At that point, I shared the same concern my client had expressed. Kullee told me "thanks for wasting my time" and stated he had other clients waiting. I told him that we understood and of course, please go ahead and help your other clients. His tone then became increasingly aggressive and rude. While trying to protect my client's best interest, I ended the conversation, thanked him, and informed him that I did not feel he was a good fit. Kullee then kept sending me repeated, aggressive, and rude text messages, which I didn't answer. I texted to inform him that I needed to block his number, and I did. A few minutes later, Kullee went on my business google page, Susan Borochov - Realtor Hawaii, and made an inaccurate aggressive, and unwarranted review. He has since then continuously revised his review on me. Which is why I decided to share the chain if events. Kullee, upset that he didn't get the job and easy money, reacted vindictively as the only way knew. Every potential customer has the right to receive written bids and make informed decisions. This situation appeared to prioritize money over professionalism, ethics and proper business conduct, particularly concerning a 92-year-old potential customer. I have been in real estate for over 25 years, and I take great pride in caring for each of my clients, as reflected in my reviews. An inaccurate, vindictive review from Kullee will not change the level of service I provide to my clients or my business ethic. This experience reflects my commitment to going the extra mile for my clients by helping them. Thank goodness that my longtime trustworthy landscaper, who I learned also specializes in irrigation, made time to meet with my client. He clearly identified the issues and provided a written estimate of $1,800 and his business card to my client, and the job was immediately booked today as well as additional landscape work. He treat his clients with respect and honesty. I'm sharing this to urge others to do their research and insist on proper documentation before proceeding with any contractor they are comfortable with and trust. I hope Kullee reflects on this experience and chooses to conduct business with fairness, professionalism, calmness, honesty and respect whether you get a job or not. Repeated harassment is not acceptable business practice and reflects an unhealthy attitude. I wish you the best Kullee. Please be peaceful. Thank you, Susan Borochov - Realtor
