They were professional, respectful of our property, got the job done safely and quickly. We were fortunate these folks were willing and able to assist us with the prompt assessment and removal of a problematic tree on our property line. In fact - they went above beyond! In addition to removal of the felled tree, they also removed a few pesky offshoot trees, old shrubbery, and previously cut branches that were in the way. Mark kindly included this additional work in the original price! Truly an excellent value for their service, and we would not hesitate to recommend them for any job requiring a licensed arborist. As a side note: Please do yourself a big favor and go with a professionally licensed (and insured) arborist, not an amateur handyman. I have been seeking people and services to do this job for a while, and there's some shady folks out there. I'll tell you from experience: a $5k quote from some guy in a pickup truck just to cut down the tree is NOT the way to go. (Mark and crew did that AND removed the tree for disposal ...for LESS!) Said person couldn't even produce a business card, let alone proof of a business license. Hey, buddy - just because someone in the neighborhood had you do some handy work for them, it DOES NOT mean you can safely fell a 2 story tall tree that's less than 10 feet from our roofline. Also beware of lowball offers from some guys driving around the neighborhood. If anyone gets hurt or something goes wrong - bad times. It's worth the price for having the job done right when you have a contract with a reasonable professional.

I was a bit upset about how our lawn was not quite completed the way I felt it should have been. Not really knowing about the lawn care biz - I felt a need to reach out and get a second opinion on how things are done locally versus where I grew up (east coast - ya did it yourself, or landscaper folks made dang sure things met your satisfaction before they left!)! So I yelped up 'landscaper' here in good ol' Yelp and up popped this wonderful business! So I gave a call. I politely explained how I was disappointed with how things had turned out - and just wanted to have a consult with him. The owner was very happy to come over, assess what was done, and to try to help me out! I guess also I wanted to ensure I'm not just being "that stupid lady"! *you know what I'm talking about* So he comes over - his first impression - the job wasn't done! He definitely encouraged me to straighten that out - and I will! But now to his business: Extremely knowledgable (I mean hello, he's in the business so he better dang well be!) To be honest - I cannot speak on pricing as it can ALL vary depending on what you want done! At a minimum he can charge $80 for lawn service (and I believe that is per visit), all the way up to $300 DEPENDING on what you need/want done. But the fact he took the time of day to help me better understand my lawn issues, and what follow up stuff I need to address with our current lawn maintenance folks (or hubby), THAT makes him stand out in my mind! :) He also even gave me some easy tips for some typical pesky nuisances around here for my fruit trees! Also gave me some cost saving efforts to attack the never ending battle of the weeds - something I really do appreciate. THAT speaks MILLIONS to me of how this guys work ethic is! If things don't necessarily pan out with our current lawn folk - I just might come to this guy!

He was responsive, honest and timely when I asked for an estimate and gave me a great quote that was in my budget. I have a small yard but it's been neglected - weeds, dead grass and plants. I also had to remove my avocado tree that was getting too big and we were afraid it would soon ruin our foundation. Mark and his coworker came in the morning, and within minutes, the tree was removed to be replanted at a friend's house. By lunchtime, my plants were trimmed, weeds gone, pavers taken out and new weed barrier laid under and leveled, and old grass removed. And within hours, my potted hibiscuses were planted in the ground and new sheets of grass were laid. One day's work transformed from hot mess to a beautiful, manicured yard! We were so pleased that we are having Mark maintain and upkeep our yard so it can stay beautiful! Highly recommend Mark for any landscaping job!

With time ticking and my body no can, I knew I needed professional help (not me, the yard!) That's when I read Daren's excellent reviews on Thumbtack. From the first time we had a talanoa (conversation), I was super impressed. Daren came over quick for a walkthrough, taking the time to answer all my questions and even threw in some solid recommendations. His professionalism was top-notch, and the quote he gave me was more than fair. Plus, he started the project that very weekend. What was supposed to be a simple grass redo turned into a full-on landscaping job, especially after I decided last minute to go with tree trimming. Even with the extra work, Daren and his team finished everything in just one day and a half. Their speed and efficiency? Manuia! (Great!) But what stood out the most was their attention to detail. They found and fixed several of my broken sprinklers without me even having to ask. That's some true Aloha spirit right there. I couldn't be more happy with the results.
