Overall, I'm very happy with how the project turned out. The installation itself went well, and the crew did a good job keeping the work areas organized and putting the yard back together after the trenching. The real test came after a heavy storm, when I noticed some pooling and settling along portions of the restored trenches. I contacted Ea, the project manager, and he took the concerns seriously. He arranged for a crew to come back out, and they ended up addressing both sides of the house. They lifted and regraded the affected sod, added material underneath to help with settling, cleaned out the drain lines, and thoroughly flushed and tested both downspouts and emitters to make sure everything was flowing correctly. Ea also followed up with photos and videos documenting the work, which I appreciated. What impressed me most was that they didn't argue about the concerns or disappear once the original job was completed. They came back, corrected the issues, tested the system, and made sure I was satisfied with the result. The drainage system is functioning properly now and the yard looks much better. Based on both the quality of the work and the way Aloha ʻĀina handled the follow-up, I would definitely recommend them.

We had such a wonderful experience with Aloha ʻĀina Landscaping. We highly recommend them!…read more My family and I met with Stu to purchase several plants from their nursery, and the entire experience exceeded expectations. Stu was incredibly generous with his time, knowledge, and care. He didn't just sell us plants -- he educated us. He walked us through exactly how to help them thrive in their new environment, from soil considerations to watering patterns to sunlight needs. You can immediately tell he genuinely cares about both the plants and the people taking them home. As someone who values stewardship of the land, I deeply appreciated how intentional and thoughtful he was in explaining how to properly care for the plants so they can flourish. And he even let my son and another family purchasing plants there pet his baby sheep. His team was equally impressive. Every team member who assisted us was kind, patient, and eager to help. They carefully loaded the plants into our vehicle and made sure everything was secure. It felt less like a transaction and more like being welcomed into a community of people who truly love what they do. If you're looking for expertise, integrity, and genuine aloha in the landscaping and nursery space, Aloha ʻĀina Landscaping is the real deal. We're grateful and will absolutely be back.

It is very unfortunate to have experienced such unfounded, unprofessional, and aggressive behavior…read morefrom Oahu Irrigation & Design, LLC (Kullee Long). I recently communicated with Kullee Long to obtain a bid to get my 92-year-old client's irrigation system up and running, per my client's request. According to my client, Bob N., Kullee met with him at his beautiful home on the ridge, quoted $6,400 cash, and stated he would return in 2 days to collect half as a deposit. My client said he asked for his business card, and Kullee said it was in his car and wrote his name and number on a piece of paper. My client called me the next day, concerned because he had nothing in writing and Kullee planned to collect a cash deposit without providing a written scope of work in advance. Since my client does not have an email, he asked me to call Kullee for the estimate on his behalf and I would print it and gladly drive it to my client for Kullee. My client also expressed discomfort, noting he "had an attitude" and no clarity for the $6,400 cost and it was a rush to get a half down. I contacted Kullee and requested if he can please send a written quote, explaining that my client asked for this before he gives Kullee a cash deposit without documentation and approval. During our conversation, Kullee stated he could do the work for $6,400 cash or $1,500 more if it was "on the books if that's what you guys want!" I calmly asked for clarification on the $1,500 difference, he struggled to explain then said "credit card fees and materials etc...", and then became very angry talking tough. My client already told him he was paying cash and that he doesn't like to use his credit card. I reiterated to please send the written quote so my client can review it. Kullee responded rudely and upset, stating he was busy and needed an immediate decision to "keep his workers busy and get paid". At that point, I shared the same concern my client had expressed. Kullee told me "thanks for wasting my time" and stated he had other clients waiting. I told him that we understood and of course, please go ahead and help your other clients. His tone then became increasingly aggressive and rude. While trying to protect my client's best interest, I ended the conversation, thanked him, and informed him that I did not feel he was a good fit. Kullee then kept sending me repeated, aggressive, and rude text messages, which I didn't answer. I texted to inform him that I needed to block his number, and I did. A few minutes later, Kullee went on my business google page, Susan Borochov - Realtor Hawaii, and made an inaccurate aggressive, and unwarranted review. He has since then continuously revised his review on me. Which is why I decided to share the chain if events. Kullee, upset that he didn't get the job and easy money, reacted vindictively as the only way knew. Every potential customer has the right to receive written bids and make informed decisions. This situation appeared to prioritize money over professionalism, ethics and proper business conduct, particularly concerning a 92-year-old potential customer. I have been in real estate for over 25 years, and I take great pride in caring for each of my clients, as reflected in my reviews. An inaccurate, vindictive review from Kullee will not change the level of service I provide to my clients or my business ethic. This experience reflects my commitment to going the extra mile for my clients by helping them. Thank goodness that my longtime trustworthy landscaper, who I learned also specializes in irrigation, made time to meet with my client. He clearly identified the issues and provided a written estimate of $1,800 and his business card to my client, and the job was immediately booked today as well as additional landscape work. He treat his clients with respect and honesty. I'm sharing this to urge others to do their research and insist on proper documentation before proceeding with any contractor they are comfortable with and trust. I hope Kullee reflects on this experience and chooses to conduct business with fairness, professionalism, calmness, honesty and respect whether you get a job or not. Repeated harassment is not acceptable business practice and reflects an unhealthy attitude. I wish you the best Kullee. Please be peaceful. Thank you, Susan Borochov - Realtor

Before contacting Total Landscape, I had the unfortunate experience of dealing with NyLawn (another company specializing in turf installation). From first impressions to constant waiting for a response etc, it was a really unprofessional and frustrating experience. I was ready to give up until I came across Total Landscape instead. I gave them a call and left a message, then in a matter of minutes I received a call back from the owner Travis. I accomplished more in a phone call than I did in taking the time to drive to Nylawn's show room and the constant calls to set up an estimate appointment. Which by the way was never returned until a not so stellar email and Yelp review I left them which was pretty sad. In less than a week Travis set me up with an appointment with Gina his estimator. In that time, if I had any questions or concerns, the communication was swift and very open. The estimate appointment went smooth as Gina was very professional, approachable and knowledgable of the material. Instead of doing a deposit I decided to pay for this project up front and Travis made it very easy to pay via email. Such a major benefit vs making a trip to an office. Invoice, receipts and service contracts were all sent through email immediately! The installation went smooth, there were a few snags along the way with the ground itself yet they managed and would strive for nothing less than a perfect project. Project took 2 days from beginning to end along with an extra day to make sure everything is set which showed their attention to detail and passion for perfection. The lawn itself is amazing, they only carry the best top quality material. My friends and family loved the backyard and were impressed with real look and feel of the lawn. They admitted to having their doubts but were quick to say they were now believers. I would recommend Travis and his team any day over any other company out there. There is no fair competition because no one can match their professionalism, seamless communication and the attention to detail in their work. Customer for life.
