Before contacting Total Landscape, I had the unfortunate experience of dealing with NyLawn (another company specializing in turf installation). From first impressions to constant waiting for a response etc, it was a really unprofessional and frustrating experience. I was ready to give up until I came across Total Landscape instead. I gave them a call and left a message, then in a matter of minutes I received a call back from the owner Travis. I accomplished more in a phone call than I did in taking the time to drive to Nylawn's show room and the constant calls to set up an estimate appointment. Which by the way was never returned until a not so stellar email and Yelp review I left them which was pretty sad. In less than a week Travis set me up with an appointment with Gina his estimator. In that time, if I had any questions or concerns, the communication was swift and very open. The estimate appointment went smooth as Gina was very professional, approachable and knowledgable of the material. Instead of doing a deposit I decided to pay for this project up front and Travis made it very easy to pay via email. Such a major benefit vs making a trip to an office. Invoice, receipts and service contracts were all sent through email immediately! The installation went smooth, there were a few snags along the way with the ground itself yet they managed and would strive for nothing less than a perfect project. Project took 2 days from beginning to end along with an extra day to make sure everything is set which showed their attention to detail and passion for perfection. The lawn itself is amazing, they only carry the best top quality material. My friends and family loved the backyard and were impressed with real look and feel of the lawn. They admitted to having their doubts but were quick to say they were now believers. I would recommend Travis and his team any day over any other company out there. There is no fair competition because no one can match their professionalism, seamless communication and the attention to detail in their work. Customer for life.

I called again on Friday and someone picked up saying, "Hello". That's it, just hello. He finished on time, did more than he promised, and my yard looks great. They did, accidentally, break a water pipe, which they fixed immediately. Even though they had to pull people off another job. And my only complaint is that a few plants did not survive, despite my watering daily. Which was disappointing as they were the more colorful flowers that were planted. But, overall, they did a great job. Sean was really nice, communicative, service-oriented, and got the job done fast!

I will be 100% honest. Being that I deal with the public on a daily. Dealing with people can suck…read morereally bad, and a lot of reviews seemed to be based on clashing of personalities. With that said. Let me begin. So I hope you read this before making your decision. To me the guys working on my house were cherry. Work is done very good. My yard has become 500% better since employing Lawntastic. Working with Shawn was easy. I made Major changes in my plan a few times and all I was told was. "We can do that". I hired Lawntastic to just remove some old cement and plant grass with some pavers. When it was done. I was like hmm First add on was a 75 ' vinyl fence. Planters on the side Planters in the back Planters in the front Everything I asked. They did. Without a flinch. And he knew I had a party coming up so they came and did extra on the weekend for free. I gave Shawn a lot of freedom with this project and I am extremely happy with the work. What you have to consider is that nothing ever goes as easy as planned and don't take shit personal. Most of the post I read seemed personal. No I didn't know Shawn before I hired him. In fact. Ok called him looking for a guy to cut my grass. We went from a 60 dollar job to a huge job and they did everything they said they would. Yes we got into some problems but he came and fixed it the next day. The crew is sick. They did a great job. Now read all my previous reviews and ask yourself if I lie. Nope. I don't do this to be popular. I do this because I like to frequent local businesses and I only hire Hawai'i Contractors. For me it is very important to keep it local. I write these reviews because I know I don't take it personal and I want to see local businesses do well. If this guys company sucked. I would've had no problem saying so. The only reason I didn't give. 5 stars is because I not pau yet. But that's not 100% on Lawntastic. A lot is on me for changing the game plan multiple times. So yes peeps. I back these guys and would definitely recommend them.

Luckily, I came across Cary who is the owner of Takenaka Landscaping who actually does all of the things I just mentioned. On my most recent dealing with Cary, he was very prompt when responding, came out right away to assess my yard, and took care of my yard issues (leaking sprinkler/plant issues) right away. I had contacted several other companies just to price around and I ran into all kinds of issues with them. Some didn't call back, some wanted to charge me just to give me an estimate, and one company that was going to fix my leaking sprinkler cancelled on me the day that they were supposed to come out for the job. In the end, Cary promptly addressed all of my yard issues. I highly recommend Takenaka Landscaping if you're looking for a landscape company!
