I will be 100% honest. Being that I deal with the public on a daily. Dealing with people can suck really bad, and a lot of reviews seemed to be based on clashing of personalities. With that said. Let me begin. So I hope you read this before making your decision. To me the guys working on my house were cherry. Work is done very good. My yard has become 500% better since employing Lawntastic. Working with Shawn was easy. I made Major changes in my plan a few times and all I was told was. "We can do that". I hired Lawntastic to just remove some old cement and plant grass with some pavers. When it was done. I was like hmm First add on was a 75 ' vinyl fence. Planters on the side Planters in the back Planters in the front Everything I asked. They did. Without a flinch. And he knew I had a party coming up so they came and did extra on the weekend for free. I gave Shawn a lot of freedom with this project and I am extremely happy with the work. What you have to consider is that nothing ever goes as easy as planned and don't take shit personal. Most of the post I read seemed personal. No I didn't know Shawn before I hired him. In fact. Ok called him looking for a guy to cut my grass. We went from a 60 dollar job to a huge job and they did everything they said they would. Yes we got into some problems but he came and fixed it the next day. The crew is sick. They did a great job. Now read all my previous reviews and ask yourself if I lie. Nope. I don't do this to be popular. I do this because I like to frequent local businesses and I only hire Hawai'i Contractors. For me it is very important to keep it local. I write these reviews because I know I don't take it personal and I want to see local businesses do well. If this guys company sucked. I would've had no problem saying so. The only reason I didn't give. 5 stars is because I not pau yet. But that's not 100% on Lawntastic. A lot is on me for changing the game plan multiple times. So yes peeps. I'm happy with my new landscaping. I contacted them via email and Sean responded immediately. He came the next day, developed a plan, quoted me for the work and started the next day. He finished on time, did more than he promised, and my yard looks great. They did, accidentally, break a water pipe, which they fixed immediately. Even though they had to pull people off another job. And my only complaint is that a few plants did not survive, despite my watering daily. Which was disappointing as they were the more colorful flowers that were planted. But, overall, they did a great job. Sean was really nice, communicative, service-oriented, and got the job done fast! read more

Projects initiated 9/30/15 and have yet to be completed as I start this review 7/16/16; refer to photos and videos uploaded. Last payment check was cashed 3/28/16 and still waiting for several areas to be finished (plants on front slope, concrete bench at front sitting area) as well as trouble areas to be addressed (waterfall pump needing replacement, stain of waterfall fading, crack in concrete slab). Contacted owner several times and was told that they are busy and someone would be out next week- we've heard this ongoing for 3 weeks now. Regret paying for remainder of project knowing they were running several other project. Lesson learned. To be fair, I am satisfied with 50% of the work they did for us, including concrete stairs to access the hilly area of our property, the pagoda they chose from Kiso's (Waipahu), as well as the leveling and gravel that was laid around the house. The staff put in a lot of labor on our hills and definitely deserve credit for all the rocks they encountered during the leveling process. Lawntastic is the 2nd lawn service company to either stand me up or blow me completely off. I had originally made an appointment about a month or so ago for a Saturday morning to get a consultation. The team that was suppose to come ended up not coming due to a current problem at their last job. I wasted an entire day waiting for them but I wasn't too upset since I understand things happen. The only thing I appreciated was that they kept me in the loop on whether they would come or not. When incidents like this occur, you would like to think someone would call you to apologize and try to make a follow-up appointment. Nope, no calls from the company. The next month I decided to try and give them another try as I was desperate to get a consultation for my lawn. No one picked up when I called but left a voicemail and someone called me back. We arranged another appointment for today (6/24/14) around 5-5:30pm. Guess what? No one called to confirm or cancel. I am completely DISGUSTED with the 2 lawn service companies I have contacted. I don't understand why its so difficult to get a consultation. I've have experienced nothing but horrible customer service and from both companies. Lawnstastic lost a customer who actually wanted their services and was willing to pay for it. How ignorant is that? read more

This review is for the process of the quote since I did not go with their service. This was done sometime this year in May. Their quote was the best bang for your buck (almost half priced) compared to another yelp vendor with really good ratings with the same items. Sean came by on time and took measurements. I told him what I wanted to have a slightly sloped (1 ft drop every 15 ft) weed covered yard to be as flat as possible with sod, a sprinkler system, pavers, concrete pads, corner planters. Threw some ideas and went back and forth and told me which of my ideas could be improved and why certain things were not a good idea and told me the pricing of items as we went along. Also let me know how to maximize things and cut costs. I do not know a thing about landscaping or their techniques/tips. This was my first choice for landscaping/landscapers in yelp as they told me the same things as another higher priced vendor on here but came back at me with a lower price. read more

We had an appointment Thursday for Lawntastic to come and look at our sprinkler system. They never showed up, I called them a number of times and they never responded. If they don't want the business why book the appointment? Instead of wasting potential customers' time waiting around on them. I'm glad I learned they are unprofessional right off the bat before I hired them. read more

My Aunty called lawntastic to do some landscape work on her yard. I just so happen to be staying at her house during the project. They took out her old lawn and installed a brand new one. They also landscape her backyard with gravel and cinder. The best part was the water feature my Aunty had put in. The workers put it up in 3 days and it looks awesome! Work will get done, but needs a lot of supervision and checking. I contacted Lawntastic to put sprinklers in my yard and they made a great first impression. They marked all my sprinkler heads, drew a diagram of the coverage, made their recommendations and gave a very affordable estimate. I hired them and they scheduled a time to start work. The work was supposed to take one full day. First day they showed up late and were incomplete. Then they installed popup sprinklers like I asked, but they were not in the ground, instead they stuck up 6 inches. Then heads were broken and on and on. They got the job done to my satisfaction, but it took about 5 days of them being there for an hour then running off for parts or another job. Hopefully this was just my experience. read more

Previously about a year ago I had my sprinklers and sod installed by lawntastic and they did a great job. About a week ago I had called shaun up again to install stamp concrete and an overhang, it looks exactly as I described. The workers were polite fast and diligent. shaun was very good at communicating with me and left me very well educated on the care of taking care of everything after it was done. I contacted Lawntastic because I needed help with my yard. I wasn't exactly sure what to do. They told me they could do a design for my yard and boy was I surprised with what they came up with. They recreated my house with a 3D program. It was cool! The design itself was a little extravagant so we scaled it down a little to my liking. I recently had the guys come by and install grass and a vinyl fence. Shaun was very informative when it came to the details of the job. He made things very easy. What I was most impressed about was how the crew cleaned up after themselves at the end of the day. They left my property looking better than when they first arrived. These guys are hardworking, motivated, and very informative throughout the project. I had my front and back yard done installing edging for planters, new sod, gravel to fill the planters, and demo of concrete slab. My next project for Lawntastic will be concrete overlay with stamp/stain in the back yard and front yard later on in year. Don't use the revolving sprinklers use the stationary ones regardless of what they say. Better consistent coverage. MAke sure the sod they bring is your sod and not another customers to sit on your site while they are working on your project. If there are any left overs it's yours. Your going to get a sq footage based on what they measure. If u alter and make changes using less sq footage you will have extra sod. Make sure before u start what ever material they have on site is yours and not another customers. You do not want to pay for material and have it walk away by being told it's another customers. they employee some hardworking braddahs. Local company. That's why it took me so long to write this. Reply: The 5 star was the initial start the 2 star was for the job when completed. The day of install I made changes around perimeter to add a lanai which was tapered off n rocks were added. So the sq footage changed. We used less sod. When the job was done there was sod left over and was told by one worker it was left over sod n it was mine than a second worker looked at him n said no that's another customers sod. Both looked at each other awkward. Thats the answer given n I didn't buck back but guys came back next day to load by hand the sod n pallets to their truck. Honestly had that material been on my property n not on the sidewalk, it would have been mine period. I didn't want to buck the Braddahs cuz both were in disagreement. Instinct tells me Braddah 1 was correct n the answer given was shady by braddah 2 to begin with. Never place another customers material on another jobsite. I work in the construction industry. it took me years to respond bcuz I was going to let it go. U got some hard working braddahs n u are employing them. Thank u for that. U provide a good service. I have my response now bcuz also the sprinklers used n placed were not adequately covering the areas. I have had to change the sprinkler heads n add a few more to cover areas the water wasn't reaching. This is a review based on after the install. No diss but a honest review in my opinion. My first Yelp review! Shaun, CJ, Brandon and the crew were awesome! I met with Shaun a couple years ago to get a quote for a concrete driveway and then put it off for a couple of years but Shaun remembered me when I called back recently. He honored their original quote which was very reasonable (I got over 6 quotes initially). They worked really hard including weekends to get the project done in a quality and timely manner. Sean and CJ have threatened me after abandoning their job. I expected my house to be all completed by a friday. The deadline was not met to liveable conditions outside till almost two weeks after. Plus all the jobs were never even completed. A week before they were supposed to be done, he demanded the second half of the money. The work was unprofessional when it was done. They cut corners unless someone is their to supervise them. This company is terrible, I would recommend looking elsewhere. read more

Not pleased at how the final result ended up! Was told that sealant was to be used to seal lava rocks but they never came back to do so. Even after I called to get it done. Now the lava rock looks off in color on some spots. Also a sprinkler head was removed causing a grass spot in the yard to not grow back! read more

LAWNTASTIC is AMAZING!!! In fact, their service was so good that I wanted to take the time to write an actual review for my fellow yelpers out there. To be honest, I was nervous at first because I'm very particular about the presentation of my home and I've had some pretty bad experiences with other landscaping companies. Shaun (the owner) and CJ (manager) took the time to sit down with me and work on my vision with their 3d technology. It looks so real! I was skeptical of how close it would resemble what we'd come up with but they surprised me! My lawn looks exactly like the design! They installed an irrigation system and something called el toro sod grass to create a gorgeous green lawn that I'm proud to show off. They also used red cinder to create a contrast which works really well against my planters. The guys worked quickly, finishing the job in just three days which was great, considering some friends of mine had to wait over a week with the companies they used. A complete born-and-raised group of local guys, who were not only professional and courteous, but were also fun to be around while I watched from the sidelines (Thanks for the laughs guys! Although I have a small yard I was impressed that Sean still gave it the attention that someone would expect for a larger project. I got a quote over the phone based on the the size for sod. We made an appointment to have him come out once he measured out the actual size his quote was a little higher than over the phone but that is understandable as it was only an estimate without accurate measurements. He educated me on the various types of sod based on shade and a couple of other things which I can't remember but I thought that was pretty good that he knew what he was talking about. I told him I would think about it and I didn't feel pressured to make a decision which was pretty good. As I mentioned I appreciated that he was willing to come out for such a small project. I called them back and decided to go with them. Overall I'm pleased with the outcome. They completed it in a timely manner and great communication from Sean. If I ever upgrade to a full size yard I'll definitely keep them in mind for the time being I'll just leave a review. read more

Very friendly and good communication. Hired them for lawn and tree service before I left town for a few months. They did an excellent job for the first two months and then had some personnel issues which resulted in missed appointments. The owner had to fire 4 workers recently. Once his new staff comes online, service should return to normal. read more
