Seven words. Red Bean Soup. QQ Mochi Egg Waffle…read more Meet Fresh is a well known Asian dessert chain that we've had in multiple places across the US, including California, New Jersey and Chicago. We were obsessed with the Meet Fresh in Chicago and visited it practically every week when we lived there. (Looks like the Chicago one is closed now, boo...). It's actually quite fortunate that we need to drive at least 30 minutes to our nearest Meet Fresh now, because I think otherwise we probably would get dessert here every other week. The desserts at the Meet Fresh in Tangram Mall in Flushing are just as delicious as every other Meet Fresh that we've ever been to. Meet Fresh is really the only place I know in the US to offer a nice, hot, sweet, delicious red bean soup with glutinous rice balls, boba and other toppings. The crispy Hong Kong-style bubble waffles (QQ mochi egg waffles) are a bit easier to find, but I have not found any as good as those at Meet Fresh. I do see a few people complaining about the service. It's really self-service here. Order at the kiosk, get your food and clean it up yourself. Trust me, it's worth it.

I came on a weekday night with my friends after dinner and there were no guests sitting or ordering. They have a kiosk for you to order from by yourself but it is set very high so it may be out of reach for some people. When I tried to order with the cashier at the counter, I was not greeted with a hello or a smile. The lady would give me one word responses and not accommodate me in any way. I've been wanting to try their shaved ice specially the Thai Tea series so I was pleasantly surprised that they still have it. I ordered the Thai Tea Shaved Ice in the medium size and it was about $20~. This was the smaller size out of the two, but even so it is meant for at least two people. It comes with toppings such as pudding, boba, mochi, sago, scoop of vanilla Ice-Cream, and coconut flakes. I had no idea it came with coconut flakes as that's a big no-no for me. I'm also not a fan of boba, mochi, or sago but the lady said they are irreplaceble. I really wanted grass jelly but I did not want to pay an additional cost when there are so many toppings already in the bowl I cannot finish. The pudding and vanilla Ice-Cream are good and elevates the whole dessert platter, but the ice melts pretty quickly when it's just one person eating it. I wished they have a small size for a cheaper price for people who just wants to eat alone because it's crazy that my dessert is more expensive than my dinner! Also, I wished the employees were more accommodating with the toppings. It was a decent experience overall as the place is very spacious and comfortable. My friends and I enjoyed our desserts and catching up with each other. There is no restroom inside the dessert shop. You have to walk out to the shared one with the whole mall next to the food court.

But, this spot hides a really cozy space to enjoy some desserts with friends. Service here is pretty quick, and kind. I got their soy milk shaved ice and it was so good. The shaved ice was light and it tasted exactly like soy milk (which I love). It also came with cheese foam, ice cream, and mochi. It was the perfect dessert that wasn't too heavy or sweet. Would love to come back to try some of their other items.

Not only are they opened later than a lot of dessert places that I have found in flushing but their desserts are also great! This time around my friends and I got the Fresh Coconut Pudding with Golden Crisp Rice and it did not disappoint. Firstly, the pudding in itself was not overly sweet but had a strong coconut flavor. The texture was perfect in the sense that the pudding wasn't too hard inside and the golden rice crisp was a delicious finish on top. It added a nice crunch to the bite and also gave like a toasted coconut feel when tasted together with the pudding. The second thing we got was like a durian mango sago. I am a big fan of durian so I really enjoyed this dessert. The durian was perfectly sweet and custard and the mangos were sweet but tangy giving the dessert a little more depth. Although I only got two desserts this time around, I do want to point out that their shaved ice is not something that you should miss out on either. I have had many of the flavors and have never been disappointed. It is super fluffy and milky and just melts as soon as it hits your tongue. It is something that I order majority of the time that I dine in (they have a big variety so I just switch it up). The experience at this dessert shop is always great and since they have a call button for whenever you need a server, it feels a little more intimate and private!

It was filled with people working/studying and small groups of people just relaxing and catching up with their friends. I tried their new portobello sandwich. It had arugula and pesto. Because of this reason and because their desserts are always great, I find myself coming back again and again! This time I got the mango bingsoo and the cookie butter croffle which were both delicious! Their bingsoo is always so fluffy which I really like and the mango flavor is super strong as well so it doesn't feel like I'm having plain bingsoo once I get to the middle. The croffles from here are always sooo good. They're so chewy and warm which was super comforting for the cold weather that has been going on recently. This place is self service so the only interaction you have with the staff is when ordering. They are always super patient and helpful. The cute cafe has quite a bit of seats as well but because it is pretty popular around the area, it does fill up quite quickly.

I found the space bright, clean, and comfortable, with a cozy café layout that is more polished than a traditional dessert shop. Seating is arranged for small groups and casual hangouts, and the overall setup feels designed for people staying awhile over desserts rather than grabbing something quickly and leaving. Even though the menu is large, the entire identity of the place revolves around fruit forward desserts, especially mango, with a mix of sago bowls, pancakes, crepe cakes, shaved ice, drinks, and sticky rice desserts. The mango desserts were easily the biggest highlight for me. I tried the mango sago pomelo bowl and the mango pancakes. The mango sago pomelo bowl leaned heavily into fresh fruit and creamy textures with a lighter refreshing flavor. The mango pancakes stood out for their soft crepe exterior and cream filling. I also sampled the mango sticky rice and a slice of mango mille crepe cake. The crepe cake added a richer dessert option alongside the colder fruit based items. The menu also includes durian desserts, coconut based sweets, black rice desserts, jellies, and specialty drinks, giving the café a wide range of textures and flavors without moving too far away from its fruit dessert focus. I noticed that a lot of the desserts feel visually layered and oversized, especially the combination bowls filled with fruit, sago, pomelo, jelly, and ice cream. Service felt casual and fairly efficient, even as the café got busy. My desserts arrived quickly, especially the cold dishes and drinks, and the staff kept the flow moving smoothly even when groups around me were ordering multiple items to share. The experience felt straightforward and relaxed rather than overly formal, which fit the café style setup well.

Lots of bubbles, pearls, etc. Their Mo Mo Cha is warm and comforting, not too sweet and not heavy. It's perfect for a chilly night. The mille crepe cake wasn't a favorite; the creme brulee really didn't taste like what I'm used to having. Overall, this is a great place to order from, no matter what the weather is. We've been going here and ordering for awhile now and the service and items have been consistent.
