I ordered their classic carrot cake with raisins. The cake was moist, warm, and not too sweet. My only pet peeve is I wish the cake was two layers so that the frosting was in the middle as well. I would have also appreciated a tangier cream cheese frosting. All that to say, it was not the best carrot cake I've ever had but it was pretty damn good and they're a Bronx institution.

I was finally in the area and stopped by for a sweet treat. This location isn't quite your typical bakery where they have cakes and desserts on display and seating. It's a no frills, grab-and-go type of place. As for the carrot cake, it's soft, tastes homemade, and if you don't have an allergy or preference, definitely get the one with walnuts & raisins. The carrot cake was soft and the crunchiness of the walnuts complimented the texture well. I wish the cake was a bit more moist or fresh but the flavors were definitely there and the cream cheese frosting was so balanced yet decadent. Good try!

It looked like maybe (1) strawberry sliced into many pieces. This was a cake for our son being promoted to NYPD Sergeant and the parents and family were very upset over the dryness and taste of this cake. We paid a very good amount of money for this cake and we had to dispose of it in the garbage. The owner wanted to give us a $15.00 credit for the lack of strawberries and we decided to let her keep it because we figured she needs it more than us. Also, we will not be recommending this establishment to any family member or friend. The outside of the cake was nicely done, but the inside left a lot to be desired. Ralph D.

They had no record of my order. I walked out with somebody else's order of two sheet cakes. The chef at my wedding spot made a wedding cake on the spot out of the two sheet cakes. When I said "cake man raven" in response to the question of what happened, she just said "ahh.." and nodded, no other explanation necessary. She was a cake man raven vet apparently. The wedding guests devoured the cake. The entire wedding went silent with people heads down eating every crumb of that cake. So many people said it was some of the best cake they have had. From the first interaction with Jay, who, btw, is the embodiment of customer service and clarity, I knew I had made the right choice. Mind you, I have only experienced the Tasting to determine the filling, and I am already over the moon! If you are having a special event and want everything to be perfect, have Lulu Cake Boutique make your cake. *********************************************************** Upon tasting all four cakes, I knew immediately which cake filling was my favorite. My eldest and co-host flew in last night, and she agrees. It is a resounding yes that CRUMBELLA DEVILLE is the winner and definitive choice for Rayven's Sept. 13th Baby Shower! If anything, of all four, Crumbella was the least moist, and that is only because I had the other three to compare. Had I not, I would have been none the wiser because it was a perfectly moist and delicious cake. I was right in choosing Lulu's Cake Boutique. Your obvious dedication to using fresh ingredients and farm-fresh butter cream (the frosting is to die for!) along with fresh fruits from local farms as stated in your FAQ, was proven in every forkful! Delicious doesn't even begin to cover the work you produce. I could go on with a list of superlatives that best describe your work! And this is just the tasting, not the actual final product! Your frosting was light, not overly sweet, with no chemical aftertaste, all fresh ingredients. And oh my goodness, the flavor combinations you offer for the different cakes! They are definitely not for the undeveloped palate! The level of craftsmanship and dedication to your event is apparent from your first exchange with them. My son picked out a black and white cookie decorated with a heart, which was just as cute as it was tasty. The glass cases were filled with beautifully decorated cakes in so many different flavors perfect if you're looking to order a custom cake for a special occasion. We were greeted upon entering the store and the employee was nice enough to point out which cake slices were the quarter ones and answered our questions. It is a small and quaint bakery. It's also grab and go. Just a heads up: metered parking only.
