Cupcake City in Reading is truly the best of the best!! We ordered a large order of cupcakes for my Amalfi Coast themed bridal shower as the main dessert and they completely exceeded every expectation! Not only were they absolutely beautiful and perfectly on theme, but they tasted even better than they looked!! Karin has always been so kind, helpful, and wonderful to work with!!! She made the entire process so easy and really helped bring my vision to life! Every single cupcake was either eaten or taken home! There was not a single one left!! We have been loyal customers for years and there is a reason for that. They are hands down the best cupcakes around!! Highly recommend!!

I went into work today and a co worker brought some in. The only option left was a delicious vanilla cupcake with a delicious filling in the middle. It had pink frosting with pink sugar flakes on top but I took the frosting off. Not a huge fan of a lot of frosting. The cupcake itself was absolutely amazing. So much I had to take a picture of business label so I can visit one day and buy more. I'm currently planning my daughter's birthday so it may be sooner than I think. I saw they use to have on in Newton, bummed it's closed as that would've been closer for me. Based off of my first cupcake...I'll give the place a visit .

Birthday Treats!!! All so delish!

Not my normal cupcake place but needed some variety for a last minute Birthday Party for the boys and my normal place makes you do 6 of a flavor and I didn't need 48 cupcakes just to get variety so I came to Yelp and found Cupcake City and OMG we were not disappointed, the variety is crazy, tons of options, Lots of flavor! Carrot is my fave (I know weird, I just love it!!) but the carrot wasn't as great as the other place, but everything else was FAR BETTER!!! They even package is nice little holders for each one that hold them still! They have a seasonal changing menu as well which is nice. Strawberry Shortcake was my super want on this trip but someone else stole those ones so Ill have to make a special trip back just to get one before Summer is over! This will be my new go to place for Cupcakes, Thank you Yelp!!!

Not what I expected to find but put a smile on my face. Happy little cupcake food truck

Making it past the first round were Vanilla, Pumpkin Spice, and Chocolate Bourbon Pecan.

Over the course of a few days, some cupcakes from Cupcake City found their way from Reading to my table and then into my belly. It went something like this: Tuesday: A friend in that area happened to be driving past Tewksbury Community Market, which he discovered was open Tuesday afternoons during the summer (unfortunately, that market is now winding down for the season). He discovered a Cupcake City truck there and bought a package of 4 cupcakes. Wednesday: Same friend drove out here with the cupcakes. We started with the Red Velvet cupcake, and it just steamrolled from there. This cupcake had been refrigerated the night before, and it was already about 30 hours old, but it still tasted like it was only 30 MINUTES old! It was still quite moist and unquestionably delicious. I was content to stop there for the evening, but he said, "Now the Pumpkin Spice?" I couldn't say no, but I also remembered to take a photo of the remaining cupcakes before they somehow disappeared. The Pumpkin Spice was equally delicious and moist. It's more like a spice cupcake with a hint of pumpkin, and it also had a cream cheese frosting as did the Red Velvet. Thursday: Time to finish the remaining cupcakes. By now, with 2 overnights in a refrigerator, they were slightly less moist but still incredibly delicious. The Vanilla cupcake is basic good. We deliberately saved the Chocolate Bourbon Pecan cupcake for last, and we weren't disappointed. They even found a way to coat the toasted pecans on top of the frosting with the same flavor! I am not a fan of cupcakes which have exceedingly sweet frostings. The ones from Cupcake City are sweet, but not ridiculously sweet. I've also limited my sweets over the past few months - these cupcakes were both a (light) sugar high and a mental high, knowing there's really good cupcakes out there waiting for me when I can get to that part of Massachusetts again.

Vegan cupcake assortment

Ordered vegan cupcakes to be delivered to my best friend for her birthday (I'm out of state) and they did not disappoint! They even added the happy birthday details free of charge. Amazing service and beautiful cupcakes! Would absolutely recommend!

Yummy Yummy Yummy! Drive by this gem a few days ago and had to stop in. Today they had a 1/2 dozen walk-in special, so while I don't NEED 6 cupcakes, here we are! I got a mix of regular and specialty. Can I just say DELICIOUS! So soft, well balanced cake to icing ratio and not too overly sweet. I'm excited to go on a Friday and try their vegan cupcakes. There was one vegan and one gluten free cupcake left when I got there so I figured I would wait.

Super yummy cupcakes! Also the flavors are great as well. There was still a good selection late Sunday afternoon which is great. But what was really amazing was the girl behind the counter. I came in on a Sunday afternoon and she was so friendly and super sweet. It's rare to find someone that kind and helpful!

These are some of the best muffins and snacks around. I always bring some home with me too and have had it shipped. This is a small shop, but the service is fast and friendly. My favorite is the gingerbread loaf, the lemon poppyseed muffin with lemon curd is delicious, carrot cake....its all good. Highly recommend!

I mention every visit that they should put a name tag in front of each muffin to speed up the ordering... I must waste my time and more importantly their time answering my inquires... what is that one , what is that muffin ? Does that have raisins on it ? Nuts? Dog shit in it? or whatever ? Wtf Or why are out of certain muffins ? Any In the back on racks? Put a sign up displaying a simple check mark of available muffins? One visit the nasty one at Winchester told me they were out yet I saw the muffin on a rack not yet ready to put out front? So this was my first visit to this Wakefield location ... same issues and staff nasty here too but a bit better as more mature employee? I ordered 6 muffins and wanted 2 in a separate box as a gift to someone and the other 4 in a different box...she puts the two in a bag... A bag ruins the gift look, damages frosting in muffins... they will not put any less than muffins in a box? I'll pay for the dam extra box? Or maybe a smart owner would have a small 2 muffin box? Asked for Boston cream ... out of them .. same as last visit to Winchester location where they were out of many options... Maybe if popular statistically ... then you bake more of them based on POS sales data ? Maybe seasonality affects the daily production forecasts? Maybe offer July 4th red white blue muffins, Halloween frosting, Thanksgiving? Christmas ? Then generate greater sales, The owner should hire a better manager of both locations and stick a dam name tag in display case for each muffin, train all employees in hospitality and importance to retain repeat customers? Owner probably now just mailing it in or letting the off spring to take or already took over ? Maybe sell just sell it off to a interested owner looking to expand, or Improve offerings , add high end croissants, pastries, quality cookies ... coffee and better options? Whatever... 4 years telling every visit to just put a f'n name tag in front of each muffin-so I don't need to ask.. especially for gluten free, nut free allergies conscience people... how about an ingredients sign for each muffin ? I give up

I don't know if the staff were just having a bad morning or maybe there were customers with bad attitudes before me, but dang. There was no one behind me and I wasn't fully sure what kind my friends would want. I wanted to peruse some. I was in and out in about 5 minutes, but the woman behind the counter seemed bothered that I was asking questions about the muffins like the flavors. The display case doesn't have them listed by the muffins. There's a flavor board behind the counter which is helpful, but it would be better if they were each labeled somewhat so you could see and pick them. I asked 2 questions overall and panicked and just picked 2 other flavors hoping they would be okay, but it wasn't as good of an experience as last month and left me a bit flustered. I'm never expecting over the top super happy, springy first thing in the morning but rolling your eyes and acting exhausted from 2 questions just seemed like a bit much for a happy and bright muffin spot.

My husband is not a big fan of sweets, but after I came home with one of the fruit covered specialty pastries, he now asks me to bring one home whenever I go. My family and I have also tried some of the savory options for lunch recently. My husband had the Modena on a croissant and he said it was the best breakfast sandwich he's ever had. His only regret was not ordering two! I had the Milano. It was perfect. The chicken was light and crispy, and the veggies were fresh. The crisp bread contained just the right amount of mayo. My mom had the Minestrone, which contained a very generous amount of various vegetables and greens. She enjoyed her soup very much. My dad had the bolognese. The sauce was rich and the meat, tender. The pasta itself was, of course, excellent. Lastly, I've been several times for the coffee. The Marocchino is definitely my guilty pleasure. I've also enjoyed the brewed coffee! Looking forward to future visits!
