Beautiful AND delicious cupcakes. I stopped by to get a cupcake for my granddaughhter's 2nd birthday and so glad I did! It was strawberry with pink frosting and Debra put a Happy Birthday sign on it. It was so cute. Of course, I had to buy 6 more cupcakes as they looked so tempting. I had a death by chocolate which was sooooo yummy, my husband had the apple pie cupcake, which he didn't want to share (lol), my daughter and her friend had the chocolate chip cookie and a carrot cake cupcake and loved them and my son-in-law had the chocolate coconut and my other daughter had oreo cookie. There was not a crumb left from any of them. Debra is a phenomenal baker and I highly recommend stopping by her shop. I know I will be.

I ordered an chocolate mousse cake for my in-laws anniversary and it was DELICIOUS! It was a very moist chocolate cake and it wasn't too sweet. Decorated exactly like the inspiration that I sent to them, thanks Debra! Everyone was very impressed with it and wasn't aware that there is a bake shop off Main St (& they are Andover natives)! Highly recommended.

Ordered a cake and cupcakes for my daughters baby shower and it was absolutely perfect. It was a vanilla cake filled with strawberry filling decorated perfectly for the theme of the baby shower. Everyone thought the cake was amazing and the staff from the venue complimented multiple time how beautifully done it was. It was surrounded with ch cupcakes with pink buttercream frosting topped with a bee. My daughter and her husband absolutely loved it and the cake and cupcakes were delicious And enjoyed by all that attended. Debra from the bake shop was able to have it delivered to The venue promptly and he was very helpful. Highly recommend.

The cake was positively spectacular. My sons had a very specific request for a Squid Game themed cake for their birthday and Andover Bakeshop did not disappoint! The cake was delicious and moist as well - I couldn't have asked for a better quality in taste and the buttercream was delish (we opted for chocolate cake with an Oreo filling). The only downside was that I didn't receive a quote as to what the cake was going to cost in advance, which has not been my experience at any other bakery that I've ordered a custom cake from. I called ahead and walked through the specifics of what I was looking for, then emailed to confirm the order, but I wasn't aware of the price tag until I went to pick up the cake. I also initially submitted a cake order inquiry via their Facebook page, which went unanswered. That feature should be turned off entirely if they don't respond to social media inquiries, or at least have an auto-response to indicate how to order. read more

Instead of getting my mom flowers for mother's day, Debra creately 12 lovely mini flower cupcakes for my mom to enjoy with her grandson. Everyone absolutely loved how they looked and tasted. Wow! My mother in law is a trained pastry chef and so I've gotten spoiled, even coming to Boston from NYC....and this place is incredible! Stopped by for a cupcake as a post DMV visit treat, and will definitely be coming back soon when I next need custom cupcakes or a cake for an occasion. The flavors are unique and fabulous, the cupcakes all look like they're out of a picture book. Strongly recommend! read more

Cute little bakery! Found this bakery on yelp as I was looking for a close by bakery to bake a custom cake for my son. They did an amazing job for the custom cake my little boy requested for. Great new bake shop serving very high quality homemade cookies, cakes and cupcakes. Real buttercream frosting. Real butter in the cookies for that homemade taste (but they also have gluten free and vegan options!!) Everything was delicious! Today I had the pleasure of eating the Andover Backshop cupcakes. As a foodie I'm very particular about what I will recommend and you can not go wrong buying anything they offer. The frosting was perfect!!! So often bakeries now serve an "artificial flavored" frosting and this was the perfect balance of sweetness and texture that held not a sign of commercial production. I live about an hour away and thank god or I'd have a big problem. I look forward to getting a chance to need a special dessert to have the excuse to visit this bakery. Thank you Jacob! read more

He said he wouldn't have time to add custom decorations, but I had an idea and had him frost 11 in green and 1 in red. When I picked them up on Saturday, he added two cookies to the box. I also ordered a meat pie and a kofta wrap and while I was waiting, he gave me two pieces of warm baklava, fresh from the oven! Absolutely delicious. When everything was ready, he carried it out to my car for me, since I had the stroller. He's such a kind man. And oh my gosh... possibly the best cupcakes I've ever had. The frosting was light and more buttery than sweet. I usually take the frosting off of cupcakes but I didn't this time because it was just too good. The lemon curd center was tangy and just the right level of sweetness. I will return to Michael's for every birthday/anniversary/party from now on. Oh and that meat pie is going to live in my brain forever. So aromatic and delicious... I got it for my husband but had eaten half of it by the time I got home. Whoops!

But on this day, I thought to myself, "Self, I really hate making that busy-as-hell left turn on South Broadway in Salem. What if we took a journey to the Andover location instead?" And so it was. I enter this cozy little restaurant carefully tucked against a slightly submerged parking garage. Although, I probably shouldn't say "little" because the interior was noticeably larger than its Salem counterpart. It's also noisy AF in there when it gets busier than a New York subway. So naturally, I ordered my usual to-go (a Country Classic with an extra egg and hashbrowns for those who don't know). Only it wasn't *quite* ready on time. Which, to be fair, is kind of a minor point. Thing is, they have to shout your name whenever your order is finally ready. This in and of itself can prove to be quite the challenge when bellowing atop the already roaring crowd of customers impeding the otherwise accessible pickup shelves. I'll do my best to describe the interior since I wasn't really able to take pictures. But try to imagine an L-shaped dining area with the longest part hosting a row of countertop seats facing the windows. Beyond that sits a rather modest dining area with a few more tables. Next to that sits the gender neutral restrooms. It's strange and cramp, particularly when the place is packed tighter than a sardine can. Sufficed to say, I'm not much a fan of the interior design here. Being the partial recluse that I am, I offer the following best practice for a place so riotous: mobile order that shiz, cuh! Seriously. I had to put in my noise cancelling earbuds to appease my misophonia. The good news is....the food is still awesome. The eggs? Creamier than crème fraîche. Taters? Eh, I don't why...but these seemed way more seasoned the very first time I tried them. Fortunately, they actually pair rather well with their refined version of ketchup. The bacon? Well...let's just say I wish it were served well done. Not sure if I'm able to request that. But I'll scope out my options next time and get back to you all. That's it though. Nice place, WAY easier to get to than its Salem counterpart, but a bit too cramp and noisy for my taste which means....I'll likely ever dine in here. It's all good though, because I'm still giving Crack'd Kitchen & Coffee in Andover 4 Country Classics with all the fixins out of 5.

We cooked, we laughed, we drank, we cooked some more and just had the most amazing dinner. Everything was geared towards what we wanted as far as the menu, the flavors, the amount and type of spices. Everything came out wonderful. Shilpi brought everything and used a few of our pots and serving dishes and while we were eating, cleaned the space so you wouldn't even know someone was there. I had orderEd a Lord of the rings cake for my dads birthday, when I got to the bakery to pick up the cake, it wasn't ready yet. I believe I'm going on my second or third year getting cakes from Andover bake shop. Their model of consistency from their cake, designs to their flavors to their customer service. I'm honestly always pleased. Couldn't say enough about the staff just overall the best bakery easily in Massachusetts. read more
