Pizza was delicious but poor staff. There were at least 5 teenage boys running the whole pizza area. Funny that they have a sign at the door requiring customers to wear a mask above mouth and nose at all times, meanwhile all their employees had their masks on below their nose. Not one person in here was wearing gloves. We witnessed one employee who assisted the customer before us handle cash and later boxed up with pizza.. Tripoli's was just a couple miles away, and even though I grew up in the area--I don't believe I've ever had their pizza! Where I grew up in Lowell, at school we often got Espresso's, so I am all about the sweet sauce, haha. :) I acknowledge it may not be everyone's cup of tea, but I personally love it. I'm glad you can just grab a slice only because that is exactly what I was in the mood for. It hit the spot, and to me the sauce was sweet, but not overly so--crust was great, too. Tried this pizza out for the very first time. Heard a lot about it but never got the chance to actually try it out. The crust is AMAZING! the sauce is extremely sweet so if you're not into sweet sauces, you won't have much appreciation for this pizza. I guess it's an acquired taste. The Tripoli pizza employee handled a customer's money and then went right to the provolone cheese, where he placed one slice of cheese on each of my pizza slices, WITHOUT CHANGING HIS GLOVES, and then handed me my food. THIS IS GROSS!!! MONEY IS DIRTY!!! I didn't call him out, because I didn't want to make a scene. I just went outside and threw the pizza away. Today, the Board of Health suggested I call and speak to the family who owns the business. She said they are a wonderful family and need to know this happened. I did. I asked to speak with an owner or a member of the family and they transferred me to an older lady (maybe in her 60s or 70s) who yelled at me shouting, "YOU ARE A SCAMMER!!!" and rudely hung up on me. I tried calling one more time and I got a different manager on the phone... a 50-year old woman who said I was making up the entire story and said, "WE DON'T NEED YOUR BUSINESS!!". If that's the way THREE employees in a row at Tripolis are going to treat a customer who has gone there at least once a week, regularly, (for 11 years since they opened) I'll have to go elsewhere from now on. Hubby bought me tiramisu mini cakes for my bday. (Thanks babe) it's probably I have a high standard for tiramisu because that's my fave cake, but that's not even tiramisu. It's 2 thin layers sponge cakes with idk.... very sweet italian cream? And then finished with cocoa powder. Ordered a full sheet cake for a party and paid in full (last week), when we went to pick it up today, there was a break in the icing and when we asked whether they can fix it, we were told that we should go to the Lawrence store If we needed any fix. We ordered the cake in the North Andover store. We then asked them whether they can do some balloons or something with icing so that it does not look so bad, they flat out said no.
