I have wanted to try this place for a while. my visit 6pm (ish ) on 9/29/25. I often go to Roadies to play pinball, and this is just around the corner. I ordered a Cupbop, with pot stickers and Korean beef. No rice...and sauce on the side. also ordered kimchi. It was good! Staff was attentive and kind. Next time I will order a much higher spice level. I ordered 4, and I realized afterwards it was geared to American spice levels. That's ok, I will be back.

It's Korean fast food for those who lead a zippy lifestyle. The serving style process is very Chipotle-like, all the options are pre-cooked, there's a menu of standard choices and they're all numbered in steps for your perfect Korean cuisine in a paper bowl. The concept is quite simple, all the taste of Korean BBQ stacked in layers for portability and speed, like a NASCAR pit-stop in a cup. With food prepared ahead of time, there's certainly a ceiling on how good it can be, but for the most part, it is competent, tasty and reasonably priced. As I always say in the food business, "price, quality and speed." Pick two. :-)

As a person who has had the opportunity to spend time in South Korea, I really enjoy their street food. This was the first time we tried Cupbop, and it did not disappoint. The staff were very cheerful and helpful. Everything appeared to be clean. Upon entrance, the staff asked if it was our first time here and explained everything. We had the Piggy (BBQ Pork), Koko (BBQ Chicken), and Krunch (Katso Chicken). We all enjoyed our food. The portions were ample, and I enjoyed that they offer a military discount I also like the range of sauced from 1 the mildest which my wife likes and I had the level seven. I recommend giving them a try.

I did not enjoy this at all. The ordering process was not clear at all. Then for a panda express style setup. All the food had lids on it with no labels so I had to ask so many questions and was getting fed up because I could barely hear the girl. So I ended up just getting 3 combo bops cos it was easy. I also got a noodle bop The chicken was processed meatball like but the beef was good. And also it was annoying to eat with all the noodles and rice at the bottom. Food was tasty though very sweet. This is why 2 stars I don't think I will ever eat here again. The place was very nice and clean

The food was ok, but the service and dining room were horrible! I received an email with an offer for their new Korean chicken wings, but wanted to be sure that it was accepted at this location so before we ordered I asked and was told that yes, they would honor the deal. We placed our order and paid. While waiting for our food I noticed that the bill was higher than I expected so I went back to the register and asked them to double check my purchase and that I was given the discounted prices. Come to find out the person behind the counter never gave me the sale price. When I enquired about it she asked her co-worker "Do we even have this deal?" I specifically asked her before ordering and she confirmed! There were no other customers after me so how did she forget so quickly!?! Luckily her co-worker quickly refunded me the difference and made things right. Now to the dining area. Nearly all the fountain soft drinks were flat and it was filthy. The floor was sticky as I walked. There were no other customers there besides me and my wife so it's not that they were too busy! The food was pretty good and freshly cooked so that's the only reason they are receiving the 2-stars! We will not be revisiting this location in the future!

Came back for the second time last night to enjoy some of this Cupbop but unfortunately at 8:20 pm at night they already had their whole lobby packed up and cleaned. Let alone didn't have any more chicken options and we're no longer cooking any more food even though there was a full lobby of people.. A couple people ended up, leaving without any food because of this as well. No Discount was offered, etc.. Kind of disappointed this time.

Nice people. Would not get the salad again. Lettuce tasted very strange and chewy. However, the glass noodles had a delicious black pepper taste. They were out of beef. Most all of the tables look like they needed a good cleaning.

We ordered the beef, Koko chicken, and mandu, keeping the spice levels mild for a sweeter flavor, and it was delicious! However, my group thought the kimchi was a bit over-fermented. Since it's a stand-and-order type of place, we weren't exactly "served," but the young lady who handed us our food was really sweet and explained everything clearly. The atmosphere is pretty much on par with fast food spots, not much to write home about, but overall, a solid experience.

First time here and food and service was awesome. They were a little behind and Howard the cook came out to help up front. Wanted to send a shout out to the workers and cook. Great job we'll done!!! I will be back and spread the word about this restaurant CupBop

Rock Bop Bowl with spice level 8
Jessica A.

First time coming here and it did not disappoint! The staff was very friendly and answered any questions we had. Since it was our first time, they were kind enough to give us one free pan fried dumpling (which was super delicious and I'll definitely order more the next time I visit). I got the Rock Bop Bowl (which they expressed that it's one of their most popular bowls) and it was delicious! It comes with rice, noodles, cabbage and fried chicken. The spicy level 8 was a pretty good amount of spicy-ness (coming from someone who can handle their spice) and I think I'd get this level next time as well! The bowl was very filling (for me) and I could only eat half, and the rest I ate later. We went on a Monday around opening time and there was a handful of people already there eating and in line but we got served quickly. The only reason I gave 4 stars and one thing to be aware of, is the prices! I ended up paying $29 (with tip) for two Rock Bop Bowls with no drinks or sides or some of the cool chips they have there when you're about to pay. The ambience was very chill and friendly and the workers made my first experience very pleasant and welcoming!

Combo with Crunch chicken and beef
Brad H.

Pricey. Decent food. Would satisfy many. I had the combo and chose the beef and the Crunchy Chicken, which is a battered chicken tenderloin. It was in a sweet, mayo sauce with a bit of spice. Tasted OK. The beef wasn't really tender, it wasn't tough, but it wasn't tender, either. I had a really big piece of fat/gristle that I couldn't eat. Underneath are the noodles and the rice and veggies. Those were good, especially since the sauce soaks into it. However, the bowls or cups are such that I had to put the meat into the cover because otherwise the rice and noodles were inaccessible. If you don't want to eat your rice and noodles with your meat, not a biggie. But I like to eat my rice and noodles with the entree. The fried mandoo was so so. A bit dry. definitely not like the way I can cook them. The food is fine, it's OK. You will probably like it. I won't be going out of my way to eat there, however. 5* = A top favorite. Mind-blowing good. I will definitely return and I will go out of my way to go here. Worth every dime of my money. 4* = Outstanding. Tucson-top-tier. Some elements not quite as good as it gets, but it still is worthy of my regular business. 3* = Good experience. I might do repeat business if it is convenient, the only option, the only one in its category, or on a whim, but would not be among the first thing to come to mind. Would definitely recommend you trying it to get your own take on it. 2* = Not so good. Would not recommend at all. Waste of money. 1* = How are they still in business? Stay away at all costs!

The BBop Bowl from Cupbop
Betsy L.

I tried Cupbop recently and quite liked it! It's simple counter service with no frills, but it's a great option for when you want Korean BBQ but don't have the time or inclination to go to one of the more traditional Korean BBQ restaurants. I got the B Bop Bowl, which features beef, cabbage, noodles, and rice (plus a dumpling since it was my first time there!). I got it at a level 7 spiciness, which for me was a perfect gentle heat. The bowl packed a lot of flavor, and was a good amount of food for the price. The staff are super helpful with descriptions of the food and sauce options, which I appreciated. Keep Cupbop in mind for a fast-casual lunch in midtown!

We have been here twice in a few weeks because this is our new favorite Sushi restaurant…read more The restaurant is clean and has a simple style. The staff are very friendly. The amount of sushi you get compared to cost makes it very affordable. The plating is amazing as you can see in the photos. We opted for the combos which come with several pieces of sushi and some come with sashimi as well and rolls. The cuts of sushi were large and fresh. There was wasabi and ginger if you enjoy those. The rolls were creative and delicious. Our favorite was Ni Bistro roll followed by the Emerald. The sushi"wich" was very creative and looked like a sandwich. The Ni Bistro was full of flavor and had a lot of pieces. Overall, we highly recommend this new find on the Northwest side!

Surprisingly bad. I ordered the chicken and pineapple fried rice and a spicy tuna roll…read more Both were the worst I've had. The spicy tuna roll was especially strange - it had no flavor. I didn't know what I was eating. Eventually I could pick up some spiciness, but it was subtle. It was so bland and mushy, I wasn't even sure I was eating tuna. At one point I pulled a piece of the roll apart to take a closer look. I couldn't tell if it was tuna or not - I assume they use some kind of filler ingredients in addition to tuna (maybe that's normal for spicy tuna rolls, but they normally taste much better than this). The fried rice was the worst I've had, though still edible. The pineapple was strange in that it didn't taste like pineapple - I guess it wasn't ripe yet. So no pineapple flavor in the pineapple fried rice. Beyond that, the dish was bland. The unfortunate reality is that Tucson has low standards for Asian food, and shockingly bad places can stick around for years. Some of you remember Yokohama Rice Bowl, a local fast food chain, which was awful, and immediately displaced when Panda Express arrived, which is 10x better... It's too bad that Ni's isn't trying to do something great.

The pork gyoza was good, but it wasn't very warm. We each ordered ramen for our dinner. Mine the Oban and my friend the Original. The ramen was good, but mine tasted a little different than their Scottsdale/Phoenix locations. It wasn't as flavorful and as spicy as it normally is. This location is pretty small. Not a lot of tables, but they do have an outdoor patio and a large bar. Parking is a little bit of a nightmare due to the downtown location. I did park in the parking garage across the street, and I thought it was unusual they don't validate for parking. Overall, it was a fun time and our service was good.

The dish that used to be my go to was the ginger chicken, but the chicken quality is noticeably less tender, on the stringy side. So I switched to order other dishes like their tofu dishes or an occasional Mongolian meat dish. Again, the meat & sauce similarities (hard to tell them apart) are noticeable. It's still a decent place for a fast meal or easy takeout but I find myself looking elsewhere for Chinese food. Their fried rice was always basic, but now it's like it got hit with some soy sauce & little else Prices have gotten a bit higher (like they do :) though they're still cheaper than many) but quality has gone down a notch or more. Regional styles like Memphis, Kansas City, Texas and others all have their own wonderful nuances. And while there isn't a distinct Arizona style, we're pretty good at throwin' something dead on the smoker here. And that's just what they do at The Bashful Bandit in Tucson. Their ribs and sausages are good. The brisket is lean, but very flavorful. I didn't get to try the chicken, but the highlight was the pulled pork. If there were an Arizona style BBQ it would be something like this. They cheat the competition rules, but I'm okay with that. They put some green chile in the pulled pork and it's an absolute killer. Not so killer was their coleslaw. It was as sour as the face on my ex-wife and as bland as the seggs we had before she broke up with me. And while I never had a side dish, the side dishes here (apart from the coleslaw) were all yummy. Really good mac and cheese, top shelf cowboy beans, and a potato salad that was dressed in dill and tasting mighty fine. Speaking of dressed, I like my BBQ naked, but if you need sauce (sissy) then go for the house sauce. Great flavor, just a little heat, and just a little sweet - very balanced. The spicy sauce was just okay and the mustard sauce might as well have just been French's Mustard from a two-dollar squirt bottle. Most importantly, while you're wiping the house sauce off your greasy lips, go back to the counter and do yourself a favor, order their appropriately and hilariously named "Smoked Crack Pie." It's an other worldly happy ending to your meal (didn't see that coming, didja?). This thing is a simple but genius dessert. They take a chocolate chip cookie covered in a vanilla custard topping and put it in the smoker. It's got a gooey consistency like a pecanless pecan pie and tastes like if your favorite brownie and crème brûlée had a baby (I'm honestly not sure how that would work...it's weird just to imagine the mechanics really...). Anyhow, don't be bashful, get to The Bashful Bandit in Midtown Tucson and git yerself a case of the meat sweats. You won't regret it.

The highlights for me amongst their 'que are the chopped brisket, the Sonoran hot links (which definitely bring the heat!), and the smoked jackfruit. While I'm an omnivore, I really love that they have meatless options for when I'm not feeling like eating meat. I enjoyed their sides as well. The Sunflower Crunch Salad is a nice no-mayo coleslaw with seeds and fruit that give it some nice textural and flavor contrasts. The Dill Potato Salad is on the lighter side for a potato salad (this is a compliment), with some bright herbaciousness. The Mac & Cheese, by contrast, is super heavy and rich. They round out the plate nicely! The staff are friendly and quick to help adjust orders if there's something you wanted that they're out of.
