This is a true hidden gem! It's in an inconspicuous industrial park, with several other cute little business and trendy painted wall murals. The coffee and food was great and I loved the handmade Colombian goods they had for sale. I will definitely be back!

One of my favorite coffee shops in Delray Beach is Cumbres Coffee Roasters, a family-owned Colombian coffee shop in the Design District. Walk inside and you'll be greeted with smiles. The menu is robust, filled with many coffee and good options. Walking in for coffee, I ordered the iced hazelnut latte and two pandebono (Colombian casava bread) with guava. The iced latte was perfectly sweetened and tasty. The pandebono were excellent! There's space to sit and stay awhile or you can get your coffee to go and see all the murals throughout the Design District.

Cool little coffee shop in the design district! I had a pumpkin spice latte, and it was perfectly balanced between sweet and spiced. The interior is cute and the staff is very friendly!

This is the best coffee I've ever had in my entire life. I will add an extra shot next time but holy crap I even waited forever and overpaid to order it on ubereats bc I live 25 mins away. Please get in your car now and go try this if you are obsessed with banana lattes like I am. I cannot wait to visit in person next time I'm in Delray.

After visiting Colombia I have been trying to visit as many Colombian owned coffee shops as possible in my area. It is only my first time here but I don't see myself returning anytime soon. I think my mistake may have been getting something other than coffee however my drink (the iced matcha adaptogenic latte) was over $10 which seems pretty pricey even for a specialized drink. I think the atmosphere is nice, I loved listening to the music and the decor is so unique and very colombian. Although, it was disappointing not being able to sit anywhere when there was not even 10 people in the building. Even changing some of the seating to little round tables that seat two would make a difference. The staff was my favorite part of the experience. Both of the girls were very sweet and even delivered my drink to me (as opposed to making me get up and get it). I think this place overall is close to five stars but still has some room to grow!

I'm so happy to have found this local roaster. It's in a cool little design district just west of 95 so off the beaten path from all the people who are going to downtown Delray Beach.. really high-quality coffee done with care and super friendly service.

I ordered an iced cappuccino with whole milk and honey (they only offer 2 milks - whole and a homemade cashew milk). We got our drinks and proceeded to the beach. Sip 1, I started to feel funny and thought there was no way they didn't put whole milk in my drink. 2nd sip, and my whole body began to sweat, throat started to tingle, and I began losing strength and energy. Surely enough, the barista had made my drink with the homemade cashew milk. I'll spare you the details of the proceeding traumatizing events of my anaphylactic shock, but I am thanking the lord I was with people I love, had my EpiPen, and that the ambulance EMTs, and doctors at Bethesda Memorial ER were wonderful and attentive. I would like to acknowledge who I believe was the owner. He overheard my sister run into the cafe to ask the barista what kind of milk was in the drink. After she left the barely-drank drink on the counter and ran out, he chased us down the sidewalk when we were rushing back to our hotel and offered us Benadryl he had on hand. Obviously, he did not realize how severe the situation was and the Benadryl exited my body just a few minutes later, but it was kind of him to do. I am writing this review as both a warning to patrons to verify the ingredients in their drinks before drinking them if they have life-threatening food allergies like me (I obviously wish I had heeded my own advice). I am also writing this as hopefully a wake-up call for the employees of Deke's: food safety is your #1 priority as a food and beverage establishment. You offer only TWO milks. I asked for one of the milks, and you gave me the other, which was a milk made with 1 of the country's 9 major food allergens (tree nuts). This is not a situation of me not liking my drink - this is a matter of life or death. I was lucky enough to be with people I love and have a life-saving medical device at my hotel that I was able to use when my body was being deprived of oxygen and shutting down on itself. Some people are not so lucky. While I am sure you take pride in the drinks you are making, I am urging you to take more care for the people who are drinking them.

A roaster bearing the name of…read morean Indigenous people -- the Calusa, the ancient shell-mound builders, the unconquered lords of South Florida's mangroves and waterways. People who never surrendered. People whose bones are folded into this very soil. As someone who walks through this world carrying Taíno blood and the memory of peoples whose names colonizers tried to erase, that word hit different. It wasn't a gimmick. It wasn't a logo. It was a declaration -- that this land has a story older than any espresso machine, and somebody here understood that. That understanding alone earned my curiosity and my respect before I'd even stepped through the door. "The name carried the weight of a people who never bent. That's the kind of legacy worth building a roastery around." Then I learned the story behind the man behind the roaster -- and it only deepened my respect. Luis Arteaga came home from serving in the United States Marine Corps and did what so many veterans do: he looked for work. No fanfare. No red carpet. Just a man with discipline in his bones and calluses on his hands, trying to find his next mission in a civilian world that doesn't always know what to do with people like that. He found his way to the original owners of Calusa Coffee Roasters. They saw in him what the Corps had always seen -- dependability, grit, and a willingness to learn. They gave him a job. A floor to stand on. And Luis did what Marines do -- he didn't just fill a position, he grew into something greater. Over time, through sweat and dedication and an unmistakable passion for the craft, he rose to become the owner of the very roastery that once took a chance on him. That's not a business story. That's an American story. A veteran's story. And it's exactly the kind of origin that makes a cup of coffee taste like something more than coffee. CALUSA COFFEE ROASTERS IS A SOUTH FLORIDA INSTITUTION Fast forward to today, and Calusa Coffee Roasters isn't just surviving -- it is a staple. Walk into the right cigar bar on a Friday evening and someone at the table will mention the name. Sit down at the right diner counter on a Tuesday morning and a regular will nod toward that familiar bag. In South Florida's rich, layered, cafecito-and-culture coffee landscape, that kind of word-of-mouth is earned over years of consistency, of showing up, of never letting the cup get small. Luis continues to build something that belongs to this community -- rooted in the terroir of a region as complex and layered as its people. The coffee is exceptional. Bold where it should be bold, nuanced where it earns it. The kind of roast that makes you sit down instead of rushing out. That's no accident. That's someone who respects the craft because he was forged in institutions that demand nothing less than your best. "When a Marine finds his mission in a roastery, every bag he puts his name on carries the same standard -- do it right or don't do it at all." Meeting Luis was one of those moments I didn't expect to move me the way it did. We are both moving through the coffee world trying to build something that means something -- something rooted in identity, in service, in the belief that what's in the cup should tell a story worth hearing. And here was a fellow Marine who had walked a road I recognize: uncertain ground, earned footing, and a refusal to quit. And finally, if you are in South Florida and you have not made the pilgrimage to Calusa Coffee Roasters on Commercial Blvd, you are overdue. Go for the coffee -- stay for the story. And if you're lucky enough to meet the man himself, shake his hand. He earned it in more ways than one. To Luis Arteaga and everyone at Calusa: thank you for carrying a name that honors this land. Thank you for honoring the service that shaped you. And thank you for a cup of coffee that carries the weight of all of it without spilling a drop. Semper Fi, brother. Keep roasting.
