Decided to try their fish and other things on the menu. I picked up the three piece meal with coleslaw and mashed. I also got the 10 piece shrimp with fries and broccoli . The other item I picked up was a hamburger in which was recommended . Let me first start with customer service. The young man that took my order was patient as this was my first time here. He made recommendations which I appreciated. Later as i was waiting for my order I did approach the counter and asked for a small bag for my condiments this time a different younger man just looked at me for the longest time just standing there holding an ice cream cone.. lol! Another gentleman finally intervened and said "oh do you need a bag? " while I was waiting fir my order I noticed the unkept floor behind the counter.. bags on the floor and it needed to be swept of other food that had made its way iff the tray. Now to the food as we had it to go. I made sure yo ask for extra tartar sauce and it was a good thing because other than what i asked for there was nothing in the bag. The fish was a pretty decent size but I am so sorry there was no taste to it! Bland was the nicer word.. the lemons that came with it didn't help either. The coleslaw was great, broccoli is broccoli, mashed was decent and fries were not special. Now for the shrimp... these were the best out of all the choices we made! The burger was dry and typical fast food.. overall I probably wont visit again. I probably will support the local restaurant who have fish in town. read more

Certain elements of my trip to this Culver's were better than 1 star but I think you'll agree the overall experience earned a 1 or less. For a business that seemed to be almost overflowing with employees, the service was shockingly slow. It seemed that just two of the 10 or more staff who I could see were doing most of the work. When I got there, there was one group ahead of me at the registers but it still took about five minutes to place my order. Then nearly twenty minutes for my reasonably simple order (a burger, a side, and an ice cream cone) to come out. Ok technically 18 minutes, which is only six minutes per item - It actually would make sense that they prepared them one at a time because the hot items were pretty close to room temperature when I got them and the ice cream was melting. All of this was pretty annoying but the thing that really prompted me to write a review is what I observed during my almost twenty minute wait: A woman had been in the parking lot, and came into the building to complain that her parked truck had been the victim of a hit and run just then. She wanted to talk to the manager to see if they could review the security camera footage to try to get a license plate number or identifying decal from the perpetrator. The woman pointed out that she could see her truck on the security camera's screen behind the counter. We both observed the employee go into the back and talk to the manager for a couple of minutes and then come out to relay he didn't have time to do that, even though he didn't seem to be doing much at that time. In fairness, he said she could leave her name and number but that's hardly helpful in tracking down a criminal headed away from a crime scene and a pretty shabby way to treat a customer. He couldn't even walk up and talk with her himself? Also, and this may or may not be a chronic problem, it was almost impossible to make a left turn out of the parking lot. I was slip #67, around noon on 9-10/2022. I ordered ten shrimp, shrimp only. 1. I received only one sauce, normally with this bigger order I get two, so I counted the shrimp. 2. There were only 9 shrimp. 3.The shrimp were barely warm. 4. The color on the crust informed me these had been basket dropped a second time, probably to reheat? 5. Lastly I waited in the farthest space 15 minutes and two cars behind me were served first, even they had an atypical wait. When I drove in there were no cars placing, paying, or waiting, so I don't know if the shrimp had to come from Bashas, or somewhere else other than inside Culvers. Passing through town and stopped for lunch. Delicious meals, kind of pricey, but the religious music was poor taste for the restaurant.

I know I shouldn't be surprised or disappointed cause everywhere you go now for food it's just poor service, but I gotta say I am certainly surprised by this location and shocked im giving it this review I absolutely love culvers and always go to this location whenever me and my boyfriend are in payson, Any ways the family wanted some icecream and we get to the culvers drive thru line and wait like 10 mins for a worker to actually greet us on the speaker, we get our order in we had a turtle sundae, 2 chicken strip basket with a drpepper, and 2 salted caramel concrete mixers with cookie dough. And then wait another 15 mins and finally get our order but missed the turtle sundae, and later realized they forgot our drpepper for the basket. Give me a Culver's in any other city, and I'm likely to pass, but this is going to become a regular stop for my fiance and me after our camping trips to the Rim. We always go to Dairy Queen and get ice cream before heading home to Tucson, but the parking is bad there, there is no shade, and it's not clean. Culver's has halfway decent food, good custard, and a nice shady patio where we can bring our dog. I was impressed by the friendliness of the staff and the cleanliness. Bathrooms were decent, which is a welcome sight when you've been in the woods for a few days. The staff member who brought out our food offered our pooch a pup cup too, free of charge, and we didn't even ask. read more

We recently placed a drive thru order for a vanilla scoop, chocolate cone, two chocolate shakes, a mini concrete with pb cups and a small concrete with pb cups and snickers. Second time eating there messed up my order to the point it wasn't even edible and I went back to ask for them to fix it and they told me to pull up. A great stop on the way up the mountain. We split a Butter Burger Value Basket and Chicken Tenders Basket. Love the meatiness of their Tenders. This was my very first time at a Culver's! This location was nice- huge inside, clean, and the staff was super friendly (the manager even came and talked to our table a for a little bit). I would say this is a pretty typical fast food joint. One thing i did like was the fact that they offer original and buffalo chicken tenders and you can get half and half in your basket if you want to the both. Fries were good too! I usually turn to Yelp to find awesome restaurants, rarely do I leave reviews. We have a Culver's in Buckeye AZ and they are Awesome when it comes to a MUCH better version of MOST fast food. On our way home from our cabin in Forest Lakes we stopped for dinner, hubby wanted Wendy's, I won w Culver's. UGH...mistake for sure because Payson Culver's is nothing like our Buckeye Culver's. I won't complain when one or two things are not right because $hit happens but I will when almost everyones meals were not ok, especially after spending over $40 on fast food. To start, the lady in the drive through let us get through most of our order before saying, "um can you start over?"....seriously?!?!?!? Then, I Only got 3 pieces in my sons 4 piece Chicken basket, My fried chicken sandwich was cold, both sandwiches had hard bread but the bottom bun on mine especially was hard as a rock and finally we didn't get any napkins! Napkins, yes a stupid complaint on its own for sure, but probably 75% if not more people that come through your drive through are just traveling through so for those of us that get 10 minutes down the road w greasy hands and kids w fried food till we realize we don't have napkins.....IT SUCKS! Get it together seriously. You are not Wendy's, burger king, McDonald's Taco Bell etc..... you are a higher end fast food chain and need to represent that. First and last time coming to this location. I ordered a regular concrete mixer, paid at the window and then wait 30 mins for someone to come the car. Some guy ask what number I was and then walked away. The next work that came out I waved down to see what was going on and he said he would check. I have always wanted to try a Culver's and today was my chance, as we were returning home from Phoenix. I was very pleasantly surprised! Fast food is not my first choice but Culver's was refreshingly different. Bright and spotless with a huge and hugely confusing menu. The staff is friendly and helpful and they seem to really enjoy what they do! The food was surprisingly good and tasted like each item was made to order! Our first visit to a Culver's. I ordered the two piece cod dinner with mashies and coleslaw. My husband had one of the deluxe burgers with onion rings. He thought the burger was one of the best fast food burgers available. My cod, mashies and coleslaw were excellent, particularly the cod. The mashies without gravy had great flavor and texture. We would have tried the custard, but the calorie count for each of us was very high, so we skipped the custard. For fast food it was about five minutes slower than everyone else. read more
