And really, there were a lot of Reese's cup chunks blended with the smooth chocolate custard for me and my kids to appreciate. What makes this Culvers unique is the koi pond right next to the entrance. There's one exceptionally fat fish in the pond that I presume must be getting a steady diet of leftovers, as it is significantly larger than the rest of the fish in the pond. This isn't my typical eatery but on a quest to have a friend try custard, we drove across the street to pick up dessert. The really friendly man behind the counter, Jose, made sure we received the best deal possible with our custard purchase, went the seemingly extra step by putting the custard in a freezer bag and sent us on our way. I have mixed feelings about this place. I've been to maybe three or four Culver's location, but have had two bad experiences at this particular one. Hear me out, though. Overall, I love Culver's food, even though it's really unhealthy. At least they list nutritional facts on their website so you know what you're getting yourself into. The first bad experience I had here was a couple years ago. I ordered a pumpkin shake sometime in October, I believe. I definitely recommend trying their pumpkin shakes, but they're only around seasonally. I was a little disappointed because they failed to tell me about the extra charge until after I paid. When I mentioned it after receiving my receipt, the girl at the window was really rude about it and didn't try to do anything to resolve the problem. There is a place to make comments and complaints on the website, so I did so and received a really nice email from the manager with an apology. It said that I could print out the email and bring it into the store for a free shake. The customer service I received from the manager definitely made up for the bad experience I had. The second experience I had was a little over a week ago. I ordered a reuben sandwich that was almost half fat. Almost every bite I took had fat in it and I got nauseous as I had to pull it out of the meat. I couldn't even finish the sandwich, and for me, that is a very rare thing. I called the restaurant to just let them know because maybe that batch of corned beef was just a bad cut. The female manager was very kind and willing to resolve the problem. She said she would speak with another manager about issuing me a coupon for a free basket. I mentioned I would rather have a refund and she said she could probably issue that, as well. A few days later, I received a voucher in the mail for $10 to spend at Culver's I never received a call about my refund, but the reuben cost about $5, so I left it at that. Again, the customer service definitely made up for my bad experience. I hate to bash the reuben because I have ordered it before this last time and it was really good. I ordered it without the butter this last time, but it tastes much better with it. The custard is always really good and each location has different flavors of the day. All the flavors are listed on the website, but each location only has certain flavors; wish they all carried the same flavors because there are so many good ones. I always get the cheese curds; so good and hard to find. I don't know of any other places in the area who sells them. The pot roast sandwich is also another favorite. read more

The very first Culver's I ever went to when we were exploring the Fall leaves last year (before the gas crunch!). I was impressed! The food is very good, but the cost was slightly higher than I expected. And don't forget the custard ice cream. Wow, was it delicious. Worth the drive up there. The staff at the counter was unbelieveably courteous. That's when I found out that they have to get schooling from the home office in Wisconsin on behavior and customer support. I wish that all our customer contact services gave their employees the same training! I was on a walker, and when I was leaving, an employee practically jumped over the counter to open the door for me!! I've been reading some comments and they are both good and bad. It seems as though they've changed management over there which I think was for the best. Today the 26th I went there for a really late lunch after I had gotten my laundry done and I went through the drive-thru and I had ordered three things and they gave me the meal price which I was thankful for. I went to the window and paid and the guy taking my card asked to see my ID because I always write "SEE ID" on the back of my card, I was thankful for this NO OTHER fast food chain does this so I appreciated it a lot. The guy handed me a number and I wasn't sure what to do with it at first because he didn't say anything to me so I asked if I needed to move forward and he said yes so I did. I didn't have to wait long and the next employee came out and gave me my food. I thanked him he told me to have a wonderful day and to drive carefully and stay warm because it was snowing and cold. I have NEVER experienced that at ANY fast food chain where they will say have a wonderful day and drive carefully. I've seen them just act all slumped and rude sometimes and just like they don't want to be there. I will always go back to Culver's. Now I would give them a 5 star rating but as good of service as they are and as good as the food is it is HEAVILY greasy which is why I don't go here a lot. Also one time me and my boyfriend were there I overheard them talking in spanish (I think) to each other and like cracking jokes and talking about someone's dating life. I don't need to hear or know about things like that when I'm eating. But overall it's a nice place and good food. read more

We rushed to Culver's because it's one of our favorite places. We arrived at the drive thru at 9:57 pm on an evening that they closed at 10pm. At first they welcomed us and asked for our order. Then once we ordered we were told that the kitchen was closed. After I reminded them that they were still open, another person jumped in over the speaker claiming that they couldn't serve us. I'm sorry, but if a customer arrives during normal business hours they should receive service. The employees clearly don't care about their customers who happen to keep them in business. It was a truly disappointing experience. We're never going back there and I highly recommend that nobody else go there either as your business will clearly not be appreciated. read more

I love culvers so much because my family has been eating there for a long time because of every Thursday I am doing something in that area. we love a lot of things and one of the things that we eat is signature butterburger I love all the people that work there and the last thing that my family loves is the custard and cheese curds. one of the things that I love that they have a gluten free bun. another thing that I like is the custard and all of the flavors that they make. I can only have a few of the flavors of the day because of my gluten allergy. Went in on Saturday and I got a Butterburger with Cheese and the Caramel Apple Cobbler custard (both of which were delish). My hubby got a meal with a butterbugger, fries, and a soda which he enjoyed. To top things off that day they had 1/2 priced concretes (similar to a blizzard) which he had in twix. First time ive gone there in maybe 5-6 years and i got the culvers burger deluxe double with some fries and a sweat tea with lemon. Very quick service, transaction went smoothly and i got my food in less than 5 minutes. First thing i tasted were the fries, salted just the right amount and very crunchy with a soft inside, hot straight from the fryer. Next i went on to the burger which was absolutely delicious, the meat was still steaming and the pickles onions and lettuce were all a nice mix to the very warm meat. You can tell the meat was cooked fresh and not like some mcds pancake type meat. The drink i feel being overlooked by reviews was quite tasty and had just the right amount of sweet with a light tang because of the lemon. All in all, great first time experience in a while, will come again for some delicious food. read more

This is now my Culver's of choice though I've frequented at least eight or ten different locations. The best thing on their menu, for me, are the onion rings. They are greasy, heavenly deliciousness in a paper sleeve. A side of ranch for dipping is always free. I'm partial to the mushroom swiss burger and the breaded pork tenderloin. I tried the pot roast but found it way too salty for me. My sister tells me the fish and chips are great too, but I've yet to give that a try, mostly because I'm not a fan of French fries. The thing with all locations is the customer service. I've never seen anybody who works there that was less than kind and caring. Oh and their root beer is delicious though my drink of choice is typically unsweetened iced tea. Theirs is tasty! read more

We order 3 kids meals and a single grilled chicken sandwich from the drive-thru. We parked and waited for 10+ minutes so my husband went in to check on it. I came in the other day with my wife and we were welcomed by this tall white guy with glasses didn't quite catch his name but that not the point. He looked like he didn't want to be there and had very poor posture. It took two times for him to get our order right. And on top of that, he was just looking at us funny. I haven't been to a Culver's in years, thought I'd give it a shot! My husband and I went to grab an early lunch--the staff were all friendly and welcoming. Now this is partially my fault for ordering chicken at a place that is know for their burgers, but the picture of the chicken sandwich was calling my name! The first bite was fine, but the rest of the sandwich was hard! It was the strangest thing, I could not bite into the rest of the chicken patty or break it with my hands! It was super tough!! It was getting busy at the restaurant, so I just ended up sharing my husbands food! If you're going to Culver's..just go for the burgers and frozen custard! My wife's favorite ice cream flavor is butter brickle and you can't find that everywhere. We knew Culvers carried that flavor, but we live in the city and Culvers were all in the suburbs. She didn't like it enough to spend a couple of hours in traffic to taste it. But as fate would have it, we had to go to a business that was coincidentally around the corner from a Culvers. The owner was working the counter and we told him our story, he couldn't have been nicer. They weren't set up to sell a cup or a cone, so he gave us a whole carton of the ice cream. His dad was there too and we all had a great time. They're just the nicest people. Clean place, good food, lots of parking, but it's tucked back off Rand Rd so you might miss as you wiz past. I had a mush and swiss burger, the swiss was barely even on the burger, and there were 2 mushrooms on it. My daughter got the cheeseburger kids meal. I met my wife and kids today at Culvers to enjoy some family time together after a long day's work. After ordering food things turned south real fast. Our server Mr. Joe had just walked in from outside, touching the door with his bare hands and decided it would be good practice to place the remaining pickles on our burger with those same nasty hands. No washing, no thought or consideration for the customer. Fortunately for us my wife caught this disgusting act and alerted Mr. Joe to what he had just been caught doing. Things got heated at this juncture with Mr. Joe replying "Are you serious?" My wife said she didn't want the burger, and he took it back in a huff and a puff. My wife went up to complain to the manger, but before she got there Mr. Joe was already behind the counter making rude comments about my wife. My wife felt like total garbage over something that Mr. Joe was in the wrong about. To make matters worse Mr. Joe came by with the remainder of our order and said, "Don't worry, I didn't touch your food," while throwing it on the table and flying back up front to hold his position at watch tower. The manager did little to help the situation. As my wife left with our kids, Mr. Joe figured that he would add the icing on the cake by smiling and waving goodbye to her. What a sarcastic and vile human being. What a place. Lucky for Culvers I remained calm as I was already considerably tired out from a long day. I promise you Culvers you will never ever get my business again I will make certain to tell everyone I know not to come to your sad, pathetic business. read more

What an experience! This was my first time at Culver's in a while, and I truly didn't know what I wanted. At the drive through I had a difficult time describing what I wanted but then extremely kind employee Esther Szabo patiently waited for me to make up my mind. Although I stuttered through my entire order, making the situation very confusing, Esther quickly solved the problem, and helped recommend a delicious concrete mixer. This was our first time at a Culvers and the thoughtful owner, Zach, made us feel most welcome! We truly enjoyed the fried cod dinner, the fried cheese curds were fantastic, and the salted caramel pumpkin concrete mixer was a delicious seasonal treat. This fast food restaurant was clean, the staff was courteous, and the prices were reasonable for the good quality received. They offer daily specials, coupons, and various "Flavor of the Day" frozen custard keeps it fun and interesting!
