Culver's has become an institution in our family, having frequented the Deer Valley location when we lived in North Phoenix. Having recently moved to the west side, we were pleasantly surprised to see this new location opening, and we were not disappointed! To say this location is different from others in terms of food would be a lie - it's just as tasty as any other Culver's I've stepped into. The chicken strips are some of my daughter's favorites (she's quite the connoisseur of poultry) and the Butterburgers are quite tasty. I highly recommend getting a Snack Pack - a smaller burger or two piece strip, small fries and small drink, and saving room for desert. The custard is definitely the star of the show! Kids meals are wonderful here, you get your choice of burger, 2 chicken strips, or corn dog, choice of applesauce or fries, and choice of drink. On the back are two "tokens", i.e., coupons; one to save (when you collect ten you can redeem a prize, such as a mini football or basketball) and one to use on a free kids' scoop of custard with one topping. Hint - when driving through, let them know you'd like to use the custard token at the time of purchase. What did make this particular location stand out for us was the service. Not that they've been bad at the others, but this one seemed just a step above. Smiling, friendly, and helpful employees taking your order, and the employee who brought us our food acted as a waiter - "Anything else I can get for you? Does everything look right?" - all done with an extremely positive attitude. Recommend for anyone looking for a quick bite in a comfortable atmosphere! read more

Thanks for messing up my order again. I don't know why I keep coming back, except I love the fish dinners. So tonight, they have me my custards first, then asked me to pull forward while they make my food. Ten minutes later, my custards are turning into milkshakes. Guys, bring the ice cream with the hot food if the customer is parked and waiting for the food. So, then I get home (5 minutes away) and notice they didn't put my coleslaws in the bags. Dang it. Service: terrible. Concrete mixers: delicious. If you can stand waiting a RIDICULOUS amount of time for drive through, this Culver's is fine. Last night, 8/5/15, we had to repeat our order 5, yes FIVE, times before the girl could repeat it correctly. We ordered 2 concrete mixers, and she kept repeating our (simple) order with the wrong mixers in it. We then wait no less than 10 minutes at the window for our order... all while watching an employee text/play on her cell phone right on view of the drive through window. It took almost an hour to get our order, the line of cars waiting wrapped around the building, and was charged for pretzel bites that they didn't have anymore. I tried Culver's for the first time and let me tell you the customer service was amazing !!!!! Drew and Tiffany greeted me with a smile and amazing energy along with extensive background about the company. I was so excited to try the new place and although the customer service was top notch , my food experience was not impressive !!! I got 5 STAR SERVICE however my 2 chicken tender baskets had dry over cooked tenders , cold fries , and my burger basket had burned patty . The prices are a lot higher than other burger joints and I truly wanted to love the food as much as the customer centric service however I probably won't return. Bummed. read more

The good? Well it is better than Pete's. When my mom was in town this Spring I decided to buy her dinner at Culver's after a few people recommended it. My aunt strongly recommended the seasonal walleye so I went for it. First off this review is partially my fault. I'm an active Yelper. It is usually my fault when my expectations are off. I expected a casual sit down place like Denny's or Big Boys. So it is my fault for not doing my homework. Second, it is less fast casual and more fast food. I got the impression from a few people that this was a fast casual place. But it felt more like McDonald's with a few seasonal specials to me. Third. The food. My wife thought her friend chicken was okay. My walleye was better than Pete's and other fast food joints. But on par with decent fish and chips? No. And it cost more than my last trip to our favorite fish and chips joint. The restaurant even looked messier than most McDonald's I've been to. Next time, I'm going to remember to check before offering to treat family to dinner even if I have a recommendation. First time we tried this place the wait was super long but the food was great! Tried this place again for the second time tonight and my fiancé and I are very disappointed! He ordered the double bacon deluxe with no onion and no pickles. I ordered the cheddar butterburger with bacon and ONLY pickles...... my fiancé got back a burger with 2 burnt patties with EVERYTHING on it except bacon... and I got a burger with a burnt patty with EVERYTHING on it except bacon... very very disappointing! Although the staff is pleasant the food was not. The hamburger patty was so burnt and so thin I could nearly see through it. Management definitely needs to check into who is cooking the food. Plus our order was wrong. I had to return the horrible patty. I felt bad because it was my idea to come here and I disappointed my mother so much. I also feel bad watching my niece scarf down a burger I didn't know was charred beyond recognition until the end but I should've figured since mine was pretty burnt. Shame on me. I've never had Culver's before so I was hoping it was good. I got a burger and fries, something simple. The fries weren't hot nor was the burger but overall it was pretty good. On the other hand my mother got a patty melt and the cheese wasn't melted and there were supposed to be grilled onions on it as the cashier stated but there weren't any. As she went back up there to have her order fixed they again gave her a patty melt with cold cheese and raw onions. My grandmothers burger as she was eating fell apart and it was soggy ambit at least it was hot. All of our French fries were warm-cold. I grew up in Wisconsin going to Culver's. Now living in AZ it's like a taste of home but this location was terrible. Normally we order our food and custard together and just have them wait till after we eat to go get the custard so we don't have it half melted by the time we get to it. We were told to just come back up order/pay for it after our meal. Ok whatever. The girl taking our order wasn't paying attention cause she got the order wrong. Every trash can was over filling, we had to wander around the seating area to find a table that was covered in trash or custard. As we sit waiting for our food to come out we keep hearing others complain to the staff that the orders are wrong. We were there at least 40 mins and no one cleaned the tables. We go up order our flavor of the day "bonfire s'mores best flavor there and the reason for the visit that day" I ordered 2, a double scoop for me and a single for the wife. We get 2 single scoops without the dome lid. Same girl that took our other wrong order. Now being both of our favorite flavor we know how it should be. Instead of this amazing concoction mixed together to make every bite delightful we get chocolate custard with some stuff lightly sprinkled on top and with no dome to keep it all, half of it ended up on the table. I did tell the girl that brought them out that mine should be a double she brought out another Sunday with no dome. There is a reason they exist! At first I thought maybe they ran out but when I go up to ask for one the guy goes and grabs one from a large stack. I then mention to him that this flavor of the day is off he tries to tell me that is how it comes. I assure him he is wrong but he stands by his statement. What do I know I've only been eating it for 32 years! Even the cheese curds were off that night. If you have a Culver's craving go to any other location. read more

Just left Culver's after waiting behind 2 cars. Handed the cashier my money and then another employee came to the window and said they couldn't accept the $5 bill, because it was written on. Took the money and left. Sonic accepted the same $5 for my drink that Culver's didn't. Won't be going back and will discourage anyone I know from going, since apparently Culver's only accepts clean new bills. Food not so great either, but now I have another reason to stay away for good. BTW, US currency is not void simply because it has been written on in some fashion. I have eaten there in the past and has been a while. Food was very good when this restaurant first opened. Just went there 01/18/2014. I ordered the chicken dinner to go, and it was the worst crap ever. First the cashier ran back and asked the cook if there was any chicken. I received 2 legs and thighs which tasted and looked like it sat under a heat lamp for hours. For the price your paying u think it would be fresh! Quality has definitely went down. Stay away from this location, My husband and I stopped in for dinner. We should have walked out when we heard another customer complaining that his food was incorrectly prepared. However, we genuinely like Culvers and thought it was an isolated incident. Sadly we were mistaken and had to go through our own drama with the workers and manager before leaving. After dinner, my husband wanted to surprise me and ordered a sundae and one scoop (dish) of vanilla ice cream. The real surprise started when the order came to the table. The order was wrong and then he realized the receipt was incorrect as well. He was overcharged for 2 sundaes rather than a sundae and a dish of ice cream. No big deal, right? It wouldn't have been if any of the workers would have understood and just refunded the difference. Instead, we listened to the several attempts at workers trying to justify why my husband was not overcharged. We asked for the manager who was little help. In fact, she drew a crowd of workers who made it quite the scene. In the end, she asked if we wanted our money back which was even more maddening considering all the turmoil that we went through. WTH? What a stupid question - Do you want your money back? Why ask? You overcharged us and it is not your money. Why should anyone have to go through such drama to get back money that was overcharged? We finally told her we were leaving and will never be back. I am fairly certain the workers restarted their party mood and continued to shout at each other as soon as we left with little regard for customer orders and learning their job. My advice to the general manager would be to get control over the staff. Seeing workers happy at their job is great but having them so distracted provides horrible customer service. My husband and I went home depressed that our great day had to be ruined by such a small issue. The location on Avondale is my regular Culver's, but I was in the area and came in for dinner. I got my usual Cheddar Butterburger single basket (ketchup, mustard, pickles) w/ cheese curds. I like to trade half my cheese curds for half my b/f's fries. :) The dining room was busy and it took awhile to get our food. When I got my burger, it had bacon and no pickles. Not what I asked for! But not catastrophic. The Avondale location is better. read more
