Judging to the standard of the other Culver's this one is tops. Usually an pretty good flavor of the day choice, although not as exotic as Downer's Grove. What a disappointment! I order the chocolate covered strawberry ice cream and received strawberry ice cream with no chocolate. Returned the ice cream and received melted ice cream back which now had chocolate and no strawberries. Management not only did nothing to correct the situation, but called me a liar in front of other customers. There employees should be properly trained and be able to produce the right products every time. If they can not mix ice cream, what else is staff doing wrong. I have not had this problem at any other locations, just the Culvers in Darien. I will not be returning to the Culvers in Darien due to the fact of their inconsistencies in their food products, poor management, and their incredibly insulting employees. Consistently great food with great service. Any time there's a small hiccup the staff gives a sincere apology and makes things right. Clean lot, clean dining room, friendly staff. I really have no complaints. The food is always fresh and tastes good regardless of if I dine in or take it home. read more

This Culvers has really gone downhill in recent months. I've had a couple of messed up orders and today I ordered 2 walleye dinners and the the fish was thin and slimy with soggy breading, pretty awful. I really like Culvers food but I'm going to try a different location. read more

What a difference a day makes. I brought a couple of ladies from the office here. It was a train wreck from the word go. One in the afternoon on a friday. One register open and the lady behind it can't speak english? We waited for 5 minutes while this old couple argued with her about there wrong order. I ordered my meal. No problem. I sat down and waited for the ladies. Little did I know there was an argument at the register about not taking the dollar off from the coupon. She didn't know how. A dollar was given back to her, and then she had to raise a stink about paying tax on that frickin dollar. They served our food one at a time. Oops. they forgot one. After we were finished one of the ladies had to go to the counter and ask where her food was. Under the heat lamp, where they left it. As I was waiting for her to eat her meal, I was watching the employees eating at a table in the front of the restaurant. One guy took his soda and poured it on a just cleaned table and made sure the employee who just wiped it down saw him. She started to scream in spanish at him. Hmm. I didn't know that I paid for a floor show to. This is the last time I come to this hole in the wall. It might be clean. But it's a dump. read more

I've been here three times in the past few months for a quick lunch with my elderly parents. The service is great. The food is fresh and served hot. The restaurant is clean and bright. Great Butter Burgers! Tried the Sweet Potato Fries, only so-so! If I want GREAT Sweet Potatoe Fries I have to go to the Standard Market Grill in Westmont! SMG gives you a fantastic Dipping Sauce. Culver's Burgers always tasted better with Gray Poupon Mustard, but alas, not available any more! No Habanero Bacon Burgers like McD's! I bring my own Spicy Ranch Dressing and Famous Daves Habanero Sauce to light my Butter Burgers up, just a little. That does wonders to their Burgers! read more

After a number of e-mail exchanges, I am convinced that Rob E and his new management team at this Culver's (as of 3-1-11) are really stepping out to fix the problems they inherited. The whole store is scheduled for a make-over so the typically nice Culver's surroundings will get even better. Rob tracked down some outdated e-blasts that led to the mispricing of SnackPaks, my original complaint, and addressed that with those handling the Culver media, so that should be fixed. Went to culver's - takeout and the drinks and one side were missing. Had to drive back and the counter staff were untrained or just did not care. There was no ketchup for the fries, no straws or napkins and the food was cold - definitely not delicious. I filled out the comment card but the manager did not care to respond. It was my worst fish sandwich - nothing like advertised on TV. I will not be going back here again. read more

I went today for a mid-afternoon pick me up. I ordered a mini Reese's concrete. When I received my treat, it had little to no Reese's in it so I asked to have some more added. The not so kind gentleman at the drive thru was not impressed with my request and told me that I needed to request extra if I wanted more. I said that other Culver's have more than that and his response is they ALL are over serving. Seriously? Excuse me? What ever happens to customer service? There wasn't enough, I requested more, and he lectured me how I need to request more when I placed my order and claimed everyone else is overdoing it. Maybe this store doesn't add enough? In fact unknown they are! Overall, the ice cream was yummy which is why I'm giving two stars, but the customer service is terrible. McDonald's down the street treats their customers better, I'll head there next time. read more

disappointing. came here late night for cheese fries... fell short. Expected something other than regular friends covered with melted shredded cheese; however, expected too much. Did order ice-cream with toppings, however lady at the counter missed several of the toppings. As a quick place expected to fulfill late night cravings, this truly fell short. I am disappointed and will not be giving this location my business anymore, anytime soon. Looks like I'll be going to Jewel for some canmed cheese dip and frozen french fries next time I have a craving. read more

Went there yesterday after a couple known "dog friendly" eateries had not yet opened their outdoor seating. My friend and I arrived to find several other dogs sitting with their people! Food was great, as always. A WONDERFUL young lady came out and offered milk bones and a bowl of water. On a hot day that made all the difference. Thanks Culvers! read more

Have been to the Darien Culver's 4 x in the past 6 wks...something is either missing or wrong with the order. I go thru drive thru but eat in car with a handicapped Mom. Its the little things: 1st time; NO NAPKINS; 2nd time, NO SALT AS REQUESTED; 3rd time: rec'd somebody else's ice cream; 4th time just today; ordered a double butter burger, only got a single burger; says single on receipt; don't know if got charged for a dbl or sgl since receipt is not itemized. This location on Sat afternoon between 2 and 3:30 doesn't listen, pay attn. to detail and I just don't get it. WAKE UP. the 2nd time I went into the restaurant and told them what was missing and then I asked for the mgr and this kid says he's the manager. Said nothing after my nice complaint, not I'm sorry, we'll try to do better; just stood there glaring at me. I then asked "Do you Care?" got no response, and I left, told them I wouldn't be back. But it's convenient, next to hockey rink where we watch grandson play hockey. The food is great but the people don't care; aren't trained properly and plain either don't give a darn or worse! read more
