We decided to try Culpeppers for our anniversary on Valentine's Day, which might've been our mistake. We were so crammed into that restaurant that you were almost on top of each other. I'm hoping they just did that for Valentine's Day so they could accommodate more people and this is not going to be the standard. We had the spinach dip and chips for appetizer and they were very good. I had the 9 ounce ribeye and hubby had a fillet both were cooked perfectly. We had the baked potato for a side. They both were very good. They cooked them exactly like we ordered them. The service was so so but I'm hoping that was because it was so crowded. We'll try it one more time. The food was pretty good. Oh, another note. They had a guy playing guitar and singing and he was very good. Before he started they had blaring music! Another thing they need to address!

Cool restaurant and the food was great! Really great cocktails and service. Would definitely go back

Our anniversary dessert. . Was so delish. Vanilla cream Yummm

When you compare it to BB Steakhouse from Kaufman downtown. Now I see that Culpepper cattle is the best place. Doesn't have to be premium. Because premium is what BB Steakhouse has. They're ruin it when they suck the whole life out of it. Or better said juices out of it. So hands-down Culpepper is the best place in my mind. I'm just so sad that we didn't go here from my anniversary and we decided to go to a new place, never again!! Culpeppers is the place that made my anniversary, super special and memorable in the past. Sadly we have to wait for next year.

Salmon, Filet

Haven't been here since I was a kid! This was wonderful. We went around lunchtime on the wknd. They had a great looking buffet brunch, but we opted to order off menu. I had salmon with side of fried onion strings and daughter had filet. Excellent food. Swift, pleasant service. Very cozy atmosphere. Would be a great place for date night, a group, or just casual like we did. Highly recommend!

CHICKEN FRIED LOBSTER

This place is truly rustic; it smells woody. Not a bad thing, it was just the first thing I noticed when we walked in. We had a reservation but it wasn't full or even halfway full so they didn't ask- just took us to a table. The server came out really quickly and was very cheerful. We ordered drinks and the calamari appetizer which the man really enjoyed. It was cooked and seasoned perfectly. For the main entree I asked about the chicken fried lobster but the server had never had it. She mentioned that it was pretty popular so I went ahead and opted for that with the wedge salad and grilled squash. The man ordered the ribeye with onion strings and a baked potato. The salad was so good. I could have just had that and been happy. The lobster was ok. The batter was pretty overpowering but the lobster was cooked nicely. The ribeye was cooked to perfection. We spent just under $210 with tip. I could go back but it wouldn't be at the top of my list.

Lemon drop martini with Anjeo tequila

We had reservations and got there about 20 minutes early. We noticed people coming in after us with no reservations were being seated before us. When we asked where we were in the list we were told we wouldn't be seated until our reservation time. Odd to me but okay, I guess. I did think the wait for the food was long but giving grace because it was prom weekend and they had several parties. Considering that the waitress did her best being attentive but a person can only do so much. The food was good. The pork chop was overcooked for my liking. The steak was cooked to perfection. Ironically enough the salad was the best thing for me. I could have gotten that and would have been satisfied.

Steak fajitas

This place is on the pricey side, but the service is great! We split the steak fajitas. The meat was tender and had a lot of flavor.

We had the Cadillac fajitas- incredible! The Guacamole and chips app was amazing as well. Our server Chayton (sp?) was fantastic. Highly recommend.

The atmosphere is immaculate. The food delicious. The servers attentive and kind. Family and I came in for the breakfast buffet. It did not disappoint! There's something for everyone. I very much enjoyed the create your own mimosa station, the biscuits and gravy, and prime rib. Our server Darien was too tier!

Patio seating with live music

Making a reservation online was easy. The restaurant was busy and had to wait at the reception before we could be seated. The reservation was for patio seating but they gave us a table inside and we requested a table in the patio. What's the point of a reservation if the details are overlooked? The live band inside the patio was good. Be aware that drinks in the patio are served in plastic cups only. Started off with margaritas which were nothing to rave about. Chose to switch to red wine. Guacamole for the appetizer was ok and so were the steaks. Service at the table was good but there were misses on requests. Overall an ok-ish experience. Pricing : High, considering the experience. Not worth the money spent. Will I return? : Probably not given there are restaurants that offer a great experience in the area.

Bad fajitas and a combo plate

Skip it. We meant to go to the Dallas location which is rated better than this one but we came here because my boyfriend picked the wrong address on our gps. Big mistake. The food was mediocre at best, the people next to us were so loud and were talking about super personal things at the table. Our tables were so incredibly close so it was hard not to feel like we were in their conversation. My fajitas were not seasoned. They were the worst fajitas I've never had. My boyfriend got a combo plate and that was okay. The cigars were the best part of his meal. We immediately tipped the person who was there for live music when we got there because she didn't have any money in her guitar case but then she quickly took a "break" and came back on right before we left. When we left we noticed that she took the money we gave her out of her case and it was empty again so that must be a strategy she uses to get more money. The whole experience was not good. With so many better options, just skip this.

I saw the brunch buffet in Dallas on YouTube. Is this Rockwall location brunch as good as what the Dallas one looked like?

If we want a rave that's where we'd go. He seemed to play music for himself. Know your audience. People didn't sing because the music was a turn off for most of the night. No announcements and not one song did he sing to get the crowd involved for karaoke. (My wife is a karaoke nut) please fix this. Again know your audience! Ownership has done a great job!

It's never felt like a place that values new faces or fresh energy, and that's a missed opportunity. As for karaoke nights, it's no secret there's an inner circle. If you're not part of it, good luck. Despite signing up early and showing up ready to contribute to the night, I've consistently been pushed back or overlooked. It's hard to ignore when the same familiar faces keep rotating through while others wait endlessly. The karaoke host (yes, you know who you are) makes it clear who's in and who's out. If you're confident, talented, or don't "fit the clique," don't expect fair treatment. Some people protect their spotlight at the expense of others -- and that's exactly what happens here. It's unfortunate, because karaoke should be about building a vibe, not gatekeeping one. It's no wonder the place was dead last Saturday. Places that don't grow community eventually lose it. I'm speaking up not out of hate, but because I believe people deserve to know the truth -- and Rockwall deserves better than what this spot currently offers.

It was the valet service that caught his eye and peaked his interest that it might be a place we would enjoy. The inside of the restaurant is decorated simply, yet nicely, in warm, welcoming colors. The staff is primarily made up of respectful young people who have been trained well in customer service. They were a bit understaffed on a Sunday afternoon, which made service a little slow, but we were in no hurry and I completely know what it's like to work with not enough people, so I have no complaints about that, although there were several tables near us that weren't happy about the slow service. We got cocktails to start and they were good. I wanted the cocktail with the peanut butter tequila, but they ran out of the tequila, which was a little off putting, but The Grind and Day Drinking were suitable options. We ordered the deviled eggs appetizer and the presentation was lovely. I appreciated the smooth texture of the yolked stuffing, but there was absolutely no flavor to it. No seasoning at all. It did have a tasty bacon jam garnish, which helped, but I definitely wouldn't order them again. I ordered the chicken and waffles. The food looked tantalizing enough, the chicken was fried well with a good crispy batter and a moist center. But again, the flavor was lacking. A little seasoning would've made all the difference. The waffle was okay. My husband had the French toast, which was a little soggy, but he said it was good. We will give it a little time, let them work out the kinks, and we may try Wade's Landing again...maybe for Happy Hour or dinner.
