Great meal & great service. Ben Sturiale... great waiter. Good humor too. Great atmosphere. Coming back for sure.

AMAZING Soft Pretzels. Would 100% come back here again. Great service as well. Look forward to returning.

This was my first time here & our server, Angel, was a legit angel! The pretzel bites come with a mini fondue pot which was amazing & the wings are anything but basic. The buffalo sauce seemed like it was house made & I will dream about the ranch. We sat on the patio & they had some nice tunes playing & turned on the Olympics for us. A 12/10 night! read more

We did online pickup but was just as amazing! Deviled eggs with prosciutto were creamy and stuffed, the whipped feta dip with strawberries and grilled ciabatta was incredible! I was off bread for two weeks and caved to this and it was so worth it! read more

Culinary Dropout is a must try! We were able to score an 8 person reservation on opening weekend. We were anticipating slower service or food since it just opened, but our experience was phenomenal! We asked if they could accommodate an extra couple at our table and they were quick to make it work! Our server was Khad, who was extremely knowledgeable, personable, and overall wonderful. The atmosphere was beautiful, live music was great, and the food and cocktails were delicious. All of the men in our group were excited to see what beer they got from the "paper bag special." Highly recommend the shrimp appetizer, pretzel bites, and fried chicken. We will 100% be back! read more

Good food. Good service. Great drinks. Great atmosphere. Was a big place so good for bigger groups as well.

Overall I was ok with culinary dropout. The service as good, our food came out with good timing. It looked like there may have been a set up for an open mic which would have been really fun. Our food was average. But when you factor in the price it quickly became below average for me. I will however five it an average because of location, and service. read more

I can't begin to describe how asthetically pleasing this new Charlotte spot is to the eye. From the greeting of our hostess and server who was so sweet and attentive. Definitely will spread the word about this new gem in the Queen City. read more

The Culinary Dropout is located in trendy Southend. I've been there 3x. The host graciously greeted us and was accommodating. The wait staff is well-trained. The pretzel bites appetizer to one to remember. It's the best...lightly salted, fluffy with crispy bite. The servings were generous to share. The menu is southern with a twist. It wasn't crazy off the beaten path but all, is delicious. The ambiance is lively. It's a great place to meet friends or chill at the bar solo. read more

I enjoyed my meal here very much. I ordered the crispy chicken katsu sandwich with a salad. Both were delicious. The salad felt very fresh. It is a bit on the pricey side though, but the food is solid quality. The server was very friendly and quick. It has a more upscale, but casual vibe to it. Overall I would come back, but not frequently due to the price. read more

Food, ok. Service, disgusting. Wish I looked at reviews before I gave this place any money. Didn't want to feel racially profiled, but I'm certain that's what it was. I'm graceful enough to just leave this review and pray other black people do not support this business. read more

Everything was amazing! We had a private party and they were well prepared and very timely with food and drinks. Everything was perfect and I would highly advise if you are looking for a well put together and casual event! read more

We had never been to Culinary Dropout. We went Friday night and the food was amazing. Our server, Hailey, was so attentive and kind, she recommended the best cocktail. Our food was timely for how busy they were. Upon another one of our servers recommendations, I would definitely try the Feta dip they have. We will definitely be returning and requesting Hailey! read more

We came here for restaurant week and it was excellent. The food was exactly what we were looking for and the live music presented the perfect vibe. Malachi was our server and was super attentive, incredibly friendly, and I'll be requesting him next time we come in. The manager Teagan came around a couple times and also made us feel at home. I highly recommend Culinary Dropout! read more

Good experience, service was prompt, music was enjoyable, atmosphere was good. Had a nice time.

Amazing food bad customer service took way to long and my fries were not hot like I wanted but I will be eating here again

When I first heard the name, I thought that the food service were going to be more elevated I was disappointed. The first offputting thing was that the space was empty, and we asked for a table of two in the hostess were almost apprehensive about letting us sit and OpenTable and other sites were saying that there was no availability, which was really weird. I asked for my steak medium and I received a slimy steak that was over buttery and with little to no flavor. The other experience was that I wanted a side Caesar salad in the menu only had a regular Caesar salad and there was no modification for anyone who wanted Romain lettuce Parmesan and croutons. I had to pay $19 additional just to enjoy Caesar salad. The staff was very understanding and very nice but unfortunately, I think that the ambience of the space in the location don't match the quality of food in the experience you think you're going to get. read more

Went there for a birthday dinner for a friend. Atmosphere is nice but otherwise, that's all I can say for positives. Food was subpar, the only thing that was good was the tahini appetizer. We got the following: bbq nachos, mac burger, truffle mushroom pizza, salad. None of these were spectacular even though reviews said it was good, we were all regretting our choices by the end of the meal. Server was great though! Will only be back to probably drink, if that. read more

The ambiance was niceeeee!!!! The food was good!! It's one thing when you enjoy your food and another when everyone else does! Our waiter was awesome and the service was great! I dropped in for a quick lunch with friends. The atmosphere and service were outstanding and the food was even better. The buffalo wings had a change of pace with shaved carrots and celery. The bartender recommended the crispy shrimp Caesar salad. It was not a disappointment. I finished everything off with the Mississippi mud pie. I love the chocolate espresso fudge to pour over the top. We will definitely be back. read more

The streak frites was great. I recommend the monkey bread, which was phenomenal. The atmosphere is great for a night out.

Sunday noon. Gorgeous space! Kitchen was out of 3 dishes. Melanie (server) didn't write down orders and didn't remember what we ordered. Asked for water 3x, Cholula requested 3x. She thought she brought it over but we got it from the bartender. Asked for plates for our appetizer and she said she was brewing coffee. Asked for egg pizza as an appetizer- never got it. Asked about it when our main dishes arrived and found out she never ordered it. She asked if we wanted it with to our main dishes ??? Needs another job. Should not be in any service industry. Rude- We requested a different server. MUCH better (Brian)!!! AGM gave us 50% off the bill and 2 gift cards. we won't go back. Too many other outstanding options in Charlotte. read more

Have been here 4 times so far for lunch and also dinner - highly recommend. More quiet for lunch and excellent for business meetings. Lively and fun in the evening with live music (at least on weekends). The pizza is thick with crispy edges, the steak frites had tender, perfectly cooked steak. Love their espresso martinis. Beautiful, huge space with a wrap around patio and outdoor TVs for nicer weather. read more

I was really excited to sign up as VIP for the Opening of the Charlotte location and waited for weeks to hear about the opening. I finally received an email on Friday 10/6 saying "Hey VIP! Get Takeout on us this Weekend". The email went on to give the hours for the weekend, a promo code for $75 worth of food and a link to order online. I go to place an order and it says that there are no time slots available. Which was really odd to me because the email hadn't said anything about hurrying or any time slots, and I'd just received it less than 24hrs prior. So I tried calling the restaurant a few times, there was no answer. I said ok well I'll try again tomorrow (Sunday) when they open. Sunday comes, I try ordering online again, no time slots, try calling a few times, no answer. I'm like wow they must be busy, so I decide to drive over and order in person. When I arrive there are 2 hostesses out front and I explain what happened. One of them says, "Yeah so, unfortunately, the space was limited because this was for our soft opening and everything filled up pretty quick so if you didn't get a slot I'm sorry." I said the email was false advertising and didn't say anything about a limited amount of orders, getting a timeslot, it being a soft opening or anything of the sort. Why would you offer a "VIP" a $75 credit for your restaurant opening and not hold up your end of the deal? I've been to several restaurant soft openings, family and friends nights and exclusive events. I would have never thought that an established brand would be so careless as to send an open ended email like that and still not honor it even though it clearly states. "Hey VIP! Have Takeout on us this Weekend!" On top of that the hostess tried to offer me a wooden coin for a free order of pretzel bites for the next time I come...what a joke. I told her to keep it. Who does that?! P.S. The email was also sent out after the hours had already started on Friday. read more

Food was good...how ever the service was slow for it not to be crowded on a Sunday afternoon. We would go back but would want our order taken sooner...took about +15 mins before server came over to take our order. read more

Food and service was wonderful! Cool fun environment and great place to bring the whole family.

Food was great. Service was a little odd, servers seemed to be more concerned with fashion and self appearance. You couldn't really tell who worked there or not. Attentiveness could've been better. But definitely good food, interesting menu, and lots of options. read more

We were sitting for 15 minutes without being greeted, no waters nothing. The ambiance was nice, they played great music. The service took long and seemed to be just one guy -- a little understaffed. The food was just ok, not amazing but not terrible. I would definitely say it's overpriced for what you get. I ordered the crispy shrimp Caesar salad and it was $19.50, for a mediocre Caesar with very few, small shrimps. Overall, I would not eat here again due to its long waits for expensive, mediocre food. read more
