(The owner came by after we finished and explained that it would have been more expensive and was very nice about it. ) Server seemed annoyed that I asked for chicken noodle soup but checked for me and it was ready. Unfortunately, it was not very good - wasn't expecting a bunch of zucchini - which only irritated our server even more. My husband got the biscuits and gravy combo. It was ok. The biscuit was cold so not the fluffy biscuit you expect. Gravy was good. I had asked to hold on to a menu so I could order food to go and while my husband and I were discussing what to get, she came and grabbed the menu off our table. And every time she asked how we were doing she didn't even stop at our table! So we did not order anything to go. I really wanted to like this place. It's decorated very cute with old pictures of Martinez and most of the people there seemed like regulars and the owner was talking to everyone. After meeting the owner we might give this place another chance. But hopefully the server will be having a better day.

I'm not sure if it was an off night or a change in the kitchen, but this isn't the first time I've been disappointed with the food. I enjoy the atmosphere and service, but I'd really like to see more consistency coming out of the kitchen. The food should be just as good as the vibe.

She wasn't checking on customers or keeping an eye on their drinks, and the bar was covered with empty glasses. Customers were waving and calling her name trying to get her attention, and several people eventually got up and left without being served. At one point, while customers were still waiting with empty glasses, she stopped to make herself a protein or creatine drink. From a customer's perspective, it was frustrating to watch when people were struggling just to get service. There were also food order number stands left sitting along the bar, making it appear that people were still waiting for food, and adding to the confusion. It was disappointing to see such a difference in service at a place I've genuinely enjoyed visiting. The food and atmosphere are great, and Molly and Angie have set a high standard for customer service. Unfortunately, based on this experience, if I walk in and see Chelsea behind the bar again, I'll likely turn around and go somewhere else. I hope management takes this feedback seriously because this establishment has a lot going for it, and the service should reflect the quality of the food and the experience it can provide.

Rude, disrespectful, possibly racist (not the bartenders but the security). This place seemed promising at first. It was nice and spacious, the drinks were priced fairly, the jukebox has a huge selection of songs, and you can bring in your own food. Unfortunately it went downhill from that initial impression. I'm gonna go out on the limb and say the owners or managers are racist and they trained their security to make sure they get customers that they prefer to serve. My friends and I were the only non-Caucasian group there that night and we were watched like a hawk by security the entire time. My friends and I were all sober and we were not being remotely rowdy, but we were watched every second. We decided to ignore this and try to have a good time UNTIL, one of the security guys (young brunette with a beard) comes up to my sister, grabs her beer out of her hand, and says "this pool table will cost 4,000 dollars to replace so take your beer off of it." It's not like my sister set her beer on the table and walked away. The beer was IN HER HAND and her hand was hovering over the table. I was shocked!!! Minutes later the same security guy told another one of my friends that the way he was playing was scratching the felt on the pool table and therefore he needed to stop. Well that was the last straw. We decided to leave after that. My friends and I stopped outside the building to figure out where else we could go and at this time the same security guy walks out of the building goes to his car takes a sip from his flask, walks back into the pool hall and stands right at the door frame and watches us until we all went inside our cars and left. Just to let everyone know...Cue & Brew in my opinion deserves a solid 4 star rating. I just gave 1 star so my review would be at the top of the list. That chick Jenn H. gave a mindless and undeserved bad review. I was there the night she was talking about and what she failed to mention is that the bar closed early because some tough guy douche bags decided to get in a pissing match in front of the bar and to avoid any more conflicts they shutdown. Now sure ok it made me a little upset that my friends and I had to leave early but hey things happen. To go calling someone a quote"A$$hole" or "D#ck" For doing his job was a bit much for me..Grow up Honey! That bouncer may have been a little rude but everyone knows that after dealing with a fight Attitudes don't go right back to being Mr. Nice guy. You got your money back...concider that a win and keep your mindless rambling to yourself sweetheart. Do yourself a favor and stick to Walnut Creek bars like Crogans and get groped by a drunk who thinks he is tough while sipping on your $10 Cosmo that took you 45min. to get. Since about 1997-1998 this place is terrilbe. The women bartenders are way to jealous of their customers. Every time I have ordered a drink from a woman bartender, I swear gives me virgin drinks. But yet a man from my party that I'm with will order the same drink & you can actually taste the alcohol! This has been an on going thing there now for me, so I just don't go there anymore. To top it off the women bartenders are rude, don't really even care to ask, "what are you havin?", " can I get you something," nothing. If you like hole in the wall places but do not like the grundgy crowd that goes with it, then this place is for you. There is a chinese food restaruant right next door so even though they serve almost any kind of bear you want, when you get a hankerin for some real food, its location pays off. During the security screening, our bags were searched and we were patted down, which we understand may be standard procedure. However, the security guard went far beyond what we considered appropriate by squeezing our breasts during the pat-down. We immediately objected and made it clear that we were uncomfortable and felt violated. The guard identified himself as "Natty Martinez" (although we are not sure whether that was his real name). After the incident, we watched other patrons entering the bar and did not observe anyone else being subjected to the same level of physical contact. That left us feeling as though we had been singled out and treated differently. No one should expect to be touched in such an invasive manner simply for entering a bar. Security screenings can be conducted professionally and respectfully. This experience was humiliating, unnecessary, and completely ruined our evening. I hope management takes this complaint seriously, reviews any available security footage, and ensures that all security staff are properly trained on appropriate search procedures and respectful treatment of customers.
