Came in a Sunday - 5:30pm - only 3 table s were taken. Polpette meatball is pretty good but braised Octopus is really worth a try - flavorful and very soft texture. Butter chicken was very scrumptious though my son was not so hot about the arugula side. Eggplant parm was really good - the smoked mozzarella really made it luscious. We also tried pork chop and it was not bad should probably try the flank steak instead. I had chocolate cannoli- the cream was rich but not overly sweet - very nice. Tiramisu was also more flavor than sweet which is what we love. Waiter was very attentive and helpful in suggesting dishes. Overall - if I don't count the mishap on seating - it was a good experience.
We love this place. Local, great service, excellent food and ambiance. I had the wild boar agnolotti, my husband had the risotto and we shared a pear and Gorgonzola pizzette for a starter, which was truly delicious, and we had a side of broccolini, which was perfectly cooked with beautiful flavor. They've also got some nice vegetarian options and lovely wine options. Prices are reasonable, you can spend a lot or you can get out at a relatively modest cost for a fine dining restaurant. Very pleasant, relaxed place, a regular spot for us.
My husband and I came here for our anniversary on a Monday night. I had a reservation, but it really wasn't that busy. We were seated right away, and our server was nice and attentive. We both got cocktails. I can't remember the name of mine. It was fine but not worth getting again. They give you bread with olive oil and vinegar, and it was good. We also got the arancini, which was delicious! They took a very long time with our entrees, and our server apologized for the wait. I wouldn't have minded having to wait so long, but when we did get them, my dish was not hot. I got the tagliatelle bolognese, and while the top was warm, as I kept eating it was cold. Meanwhile there was steam coming off my husband's dish. I have a feeling something went wrong and my dish was just sitting under a warming lamp. I might consider returning since the arancini was very good, and the bites I had of my husband's alfredo were delicious.
I came here for a friend's birthday party and this restaurant was so cute. It's such a great place to celebrate special occasions! Their portion sizes are very large. I definitely feel like I could've shared my meal with another person and it would've fed both of us. I got the mushroom risotto and added chicken to it. I think the up charge for the chicken is a little steep, but it was really delicious. I would definitely come back here to try some of their other pastas. our waiter was very attentive, and the decorations in the restaurant were nice parking in North Hills is actually not bad so overall experience was a 10/10
Really solid restaurant. Servers are friendly and funny and helpful with recommendations. Love that they offer silicone coloring place mats for kids. What a genius invention and game changer. I can't remember what day of the week it was when we went but it was pretty quiet and is classy and fancy but also kid friendly so you can come dressed casual. Pizza is delish. Bread is delish too. Tasty octopus that comes with potato salad. I wasn't a big fan of the fish but my husband who ordered it enjoyed it. I ordered the Diablo which is an excellent spaghetti dish especially if you enjoy spice. The shrimp were big and juicy. All in all a lovely experience and definitely recommend and we will for sure be returning!
Welcoming comfortable atmosphere, quality dishes, and efficient servers. I attended an educational dinner here and had a pleasant experience. The dishes were each presented well in a reasonable time frame. From the family style appetizers accompanied by a spicy mocktail to the catch of the day followed by the seasonal panna cotta. The only issue we encountered was the catch of the day wasn't accompanied by the sides it said it would. When we asked the waitress about the discrepancy, she denied that the dish was supposed to come with fennel and potatoes, despite us having the menus. Nonetheless, I greatly enjoyed the entree's rich, full flavor and seasoned halibut. Overall, a positive experience and I recommend this restaurant to others!
The staff and server were incredibly kind and helpful! Our only challenge was that many menu items contained alcohol, which limited our options since we don't consume it.
Cucciolo Terrazza, nestled on the ground level of the Advance Auto Parts Tower at 4200 Six Forks Road, Raleigh, delivered an unforgettable New Year's Eve dinner. From start to finish, the experience was impeccable. The Caesar Salad was a flavor-packed opener, with crisp gem lettuce, savory boquerones, and a delightful cured egg yolk touch. The herb-crusted halibut, accompanied by broccolini, fennel, and a zesty lemon caper sauce, was perfection on a plate. The bone-in pork chops stole the show with their charred tomato vinaigrette and crispy sage--hearty and elegant all at once. Dessert? Zeppole Con Crema Al. Think Italian donut holes paired with berry compote and salted bourbon caramel. Heaven. The staff made the evening shine. Brianna and Taylor's warmth and professionalism, along with Andrew's polished leadership, elevated the night. Cucciolo Terrazza is a must-visit gem. We'll be back soon!
I came here for dinner with 8:30pm reservations. We arrived a bit early and were promptly seated at our table. The service was good and attentive! Now, the food was delicious as well. We ordered the mushroom risotto and spicy vodka rigatoni. Both dishes came out quick and hot. This is definitely a cute date night spot or perfect for a girlfriend catch up. The drinks were good - not great which is why I knocked off a star. I'd definitely come back to try other dishes.
Very tasty brunch. I had the Tuscan scramble and everything was seasoned wonderfully, great combination of flavors, and presented very well. The waiter was excellent. There was no one else in the restaurant though for the 1.5 hours we were there for brunch though, so I hope word gets out of the fabulous quality.
The ambiance of this place is quite nice. It's definitely on the fancier side, and came here with my girlfriends. Staff was very nice, and our waitress was so sweet!! Only reason I'm not going to give it a full 5 stars was because I don't think the price is worth it. I got the vodka a la pasta, and yes it did taste okay, but they charged quite a bit more for wanting to add shrimp. Also the cocktails we got were okay. It wasn't anything delicious, but it did look pretty :) It is nice for an Italian place, so I do suggest checking it out, but it was just nothing over the top for the price I ended up paying.
I wanted some Italian food for Valentine's Day so I made reservations at Cucciolo Terrazza in North Hills. We showed up 30 minutes before our reservation and they were very accommodating, which was especially nice since we brought our 4 month old. They had a 4 course Valentine's Day menu, with 3-4 options for each course. We started out strong with appetizers and primi courses. The butternut squash arancini was nicely fried and crisp and the balsamic reduction added a nice acidity to the butternut squash stuffed inside. The shrimp caprese was a refreshing, lighter option and the shrimp were poached well. The lobster ravioli was by far my favorite dish - the lobster butter brodo was so rich and flavorful and the lobster was cooked well inside the ravioli. The ravioli didn't seem ravioli-shaped to me and the pasta itself was a little thick, but the dish was delicious nonetheless. The spicy vodka cream rigatoni was a delicious, large bowl of pasta - the dollop of house-made ricotta added a nice creaminess. The secondi and dessert options were a tad subpar compared to the first two courses. The herb crusted halibut was lacking salt and I wish I could have tasted more of the herbs. It also had some sort of sauce that had gelatinized, which isn't my favorite texture for a dish like this. The pork chop was the largest pork chop I have ever seen (not going to complain about that) and was seasoned and cooked very well. The tiramisu was pretty good - not the best tiramisu i've ever had - I appreciated how it wasn't overly sweet although some bites I wish had a tad more sweetness. The panna cotta was vanilla flavored with a chocolate bottom layer and was pretty good, nothing to write home about. Overall we had a lovely Valentine's dinner and the pasta dishes were definite stand-outs. The service was fairly good, though the timing between secondi and dessert courses was unexpectedly long, but no major complaints there. Nice ambiance in a nice location but the overall experience was mediocre. I visited Cucciolo with a group of friends on a Saturday night. We had a reservation and the restaurant was not incredibly crowded-an average size crowd. Maybe 10-15 tables of 2-3 patrons and about 5 people at the bar. The waitress asked if we wanted sparkling or still water and if we'd be interested in bread and oil with seasonings. When they brought the bread out, we immediately noticed that we all had different types of breads-not sure if it was intentional but some were over cooked, some stale, some chewy, just super inconsistent. I found that the food was good and well seasoned. The portions were smaller but filling. I wish the ambiance was better and this would've definitely been a 5 star experience.

Gotta love Yelp coming in clutch for a recommendation for a nice dinner in Raleigh to celebrate a friend's recent birthday. Although I lived in Raleigh for four years, the scene has changed quite a bit since then. North Hills has exploded since my day, and I was excited to discover a newer restaurant called Cucciolo Terraza. Good Italian food is hard to come by in Greensboro, so I had to jump on the opportunity for it when I found this place. OpenTable made it easy to secure a reservation at this popular, new spot at 5:30pm on a Friday night. If you aren't aware, Friday night holiday traffic in Raleigh is not for the faint of heart. It caused my friend to be late but the restaurant was super accommodating and still sat me at our table as I waited. I really enjoyed the ambiance of the room with all the pretty lights and Christmas decorations. It was fairly quiet when I first arrived but definitely got more boisterous as the dining room filled up over the course of the night. My friend and I shared a bottle of the Notte Rosa bubbly. It went down easily as we waited for our orders. Thankfully there was complimentary bread and an olive oil and balsamic reduction dip, so the alcohol didn't go straight to my head. For our entrees we ordered the Agnello con le Olive and the Spicy Vodka Tomato Cream Rigatoni. The ricotta gnudi was so light and creamy it basically melted on my tongue. Paired with the slow roasted lamb it was a fantastic dish. I devoured it heartily. I'm so happy I discovered this place and look forward to an excuse to visit again soon! read more

Accidentally came upon Cucciolo Terraza for dinner while staying in the North Hills / Falls of Neuse neighborhood for business. I look the restaurant up afterward to find, well: Best New Restaurant 2022 by Raleigh Magazine. Huh. Well, sometimes lucky is good & I came up lucky (again). A really cool place with attentive staff, and adventuresome menu, and a kitchen to back it all up. Give Cucciolo a try and very likely you will not be disappointed. read more
I went to the Durham location and had such an amazing experience that I had to try this one since closer to home. I wanted to give it more stars but the service was lacking. Our server wasn't attentive , have bread to other tables but we had to ask, and wasn't coming back to take orders so we were there for 2.5 hours even though the place wasn't packed. Now food wise, it's delicious. We enjoyed everything we had and tried a lot since we did everything family style. The cocktails are delicious. For starters, we tried the meatball, carpaccio, and octopus. Hands down, the best octopus I've ever had. Perfectly cooked and the sauce underneath went so well! Even the bean salad on the side was amazing! The meatball was delicious! Tender and the sauce bursting with flavor. The carpaccio was yummy too but the other two antipasto were my favorite. The meatball sauce is what prompted us to ask for bread because we had to soak it all up! The pastas were amazing. Not as Al dente as I would have hoped but super flavorful. We tried the pesto, wild boar, lobster ravioli, the vodka Al pene and another one. All were delicious but my favorites were the wild boar and vodka Al penne. Everyone had a different favorite tho so goes to show they were amazing. The least favorite was the lobster ravioli. I expected a cream lobster inside but it was just lobster meat. Good but expected something different. Overall, good was stellar but wish service had been as good. As far as atmosphere: it is trendy and modern. Around 7ish they make it darker to set a mood. read more

First time visiting. Saw that Cucciolo Terrazza was awarded 2022 Best Restaurant by Raleigh Magazine and we weren't disappointed. They are located in the Advanced Auto Tower at North Hills. Service was spot on, no issues as a previous review had mentioned. Great bourbon list (I had a Blanton's Single Barrel). Very nice wine list with wines from all over the world - we selected an Italian Sparkling Barbera which was very nice with my Lasagna and my wife's Bronzino. We had started with the Arancini which is one of the more popular starters. It was wonderful. We ended with a seasonal dessert - Pumpkin Tiramisu which was fantastic. Overall top notch experience. The food was spectacular and best of all we could carry on a conversation without shouting. The ambiance was great. read more

No complaints at all! Finally an Italian place that gives you REAL Italian food. I stopped by for Brunch on a Saturday, was greeted by a friendly bartender and then seated at my table. The brunch menu is different from your typical BRUNCH menu, but it's well worth it. They stated that the pasta was handmade, and they're are not lying. The rigatoni was a delicious al Dente style , and the sauce!! AMAZING! They give you a healthy portion, but the best part was heating the leftovers at home and tasting the love they put in this dish! My family and I had a fantastic birthday dinner for my mom at Cuccuolo Terrazza. We were lucky enough to have a private room, which allowed us to laugh as loud as we wanted and truly enjoy ourselves. The restaurant had a nice vibe, and the service was outstanding. Our waitress, Natasha, was especially wonderful! I started with the braised octopus as an appetizer and had the wild boar agnolotti for my main dish. I'm a big fan of octopus, and while the braised octopus was delicious, I wasn't a fan of the potato salad. The potatoes were a bit too firm for my taste. However, the wild boar agnolotti was really good!!!! To wash everything down, we enjoyed three bottles of 2015 Terre Rouge Syrah, Ascent wine and a bottle of Terre d'Emotion Brut champagne (no judgment, please!). Overall, we had a wonderful time, and the staff went above and beyond to make our experience memorable. read more

Went for dinner with girlfriends recently, and couldn't recommend this place more. The ambiance there is so nice; perfect for date night or GNO. Our server was very attentive and made delicious drinks. We enjoyed the appetizers as well as the pasta. I got the spring ravioli with shrimp, which was SO delicious. I docked them one star cause it took a while to get our food, but it was also fairly busy. I would go back in a heartbeat! read more

The vibe here is nice, chic. Service was good our waitress was attentive, we sat out in the patio. The food was delicious, my vodka sauce pasta was so flavorful, juicy tomato goodness. We ordered the pizza appetizer and it was also so flavorful. Vegetable aranchini very good, halibut was the special, but husband said it was tender and crispy. This is a fancier restaurant which is reflected in the decor and the menu prices. Although it is priced a little higher, I'd say it was worth it because the food was really unique and delicious. The have a variety of meats and pastas. In my opinion it offers a unique spin on Italian food. The quality is notable! The service was also really good, our waiter was friendly and checked in frequently. He also gave honest insight into the dishes which helped us select our food. They also have an extensive drink menu, the two cocktails I had were great! The only thing that was just ok, was dessert. If you like Italian, I'd check this spot out. read more
I just love this place. I stopped in for my first time for lunch. I have always been impressed by the dinner menu and knew I had to try lunch. I was greeted and welcomed and given great suggestions on my likings. I went with the Burrata and a Chicken dish with pasta. The Burrata was out of this world, the most unique part was the shrimp and pesto. The chicken was perfectly seasons on top of a decadent pasta with capers/garlic in a soft brown gravy. I highly suggest this place for lunch and or dinner. It's a great spot to celebrate a coworkers birthday/ promotion / or colleagues visiting! read more

The service was impeccable, the food was carefully and intentionally prepared, and the ambiance is chic and high class. 10/10 would eat here over and over again. As foodie: if you like Luke warm plated food after waiting 30 min for an entree this is the place for you! Octopus that taste like soggy bread you missed the mark. God we miss you Frankie's 457.... So much for an Italian Christmas Eve dinner. Iykyk Underwhelmed over promised. Raleigh is yet to get it right when it come to Italian. Sticking to the mains : Jolie, Death N taxes, Pooles, Mandolin. 9:53 still no check and half ass apology from Tianna the "manager"who didn't bring a check to close out our meal. We still had to ask and wait we come to teach not eat free food. Do better. Based on the fact that I never leave reviews we have a food blog for that. You know it was bad. Save your wannabe cool and eat a hot spot for an actual hot spot. I had to fold my mink over my chair no one ever offered to hang. This restaurant is so freaking good, like seriously delicious! Off the bat I will say the one thing I wish they had was outdoor seating. In this crazy pandemic world I appreciate an outdoor dining option-- even just a few tables on their sidewalk out front. But, beyond that the interior is beautiful. You can tell they put a lot of care and thought into what the interior would look like. They have multiple private event spaces that would be perfect for a birthday party or office luncheon. The service is always friendly and spot on. My favorite dish here is the beef carpaccio. I'm a sucker for beef carpaccio and their's does not disappoint. I love that they put it on a bed of arugula (vs their sister restaurant who does not), it makes it the perfect salty, tangy, peppery combo. My next favorite thing is the nduja pizzette. Nduja is a salami spread and let me tell you it's amazing. I could eat this pizette everyday, I literally can't come here without ordering it. The spicy vodka dish is also tasty, it's not too spicy. The first time we went the waitress said it was really spicy, so we didn't go for it. We ended up ordering it on a return visit and it wasn't too spicy at all. I've also had the crab and shrimp ravioli which is spot on. The only miss for me was their chocolate cannoli dessert-- it wasn't a cannoli, it was a puff pastry with a chocolate/ricotta filling. I wish they would have just called it something else, since I'm a big cannoli fan. They switch up the desserts on the regular and they always sound delicious. I've only been for an early dinner so parking is super easy in the lot right next door, but it does get trickier to find parking as the night goes on. They do valet on Friday and Saturdays! read more
My fiancé and I joined our two friends last night for a nice dinner at Cucciolo Terrazza. I really did want to LOVE this place, but I feel it was a bit hit or miss. I was torn between leaving 3 and 4 stars but I definitely think this place has potential. The spot was incredibly busy on a Thursday night. We got seated right away as we had a reservation for 6:30. The decor and atmosphere is modern and lovely. It's upscale but not fancy, yet still cozy. Our server was friendly, but I think it took about 20 plus minutes for him to come back and check on us after we were done eating. I am just stating that as a fact though, not a complaint, as they were incredibly busy, so I can usually understand being someone that worked at a restaurant on and off for many years. We all opted for a drink to start and they were all great. The Napa Cabernet was delicious. We then ordered a few appetizers for the table. We went with the Charcuterie Board, Filet Mignon Beef Carpaccio, and the Arancini. The Charcuterie Board was just your average Charcuterie Board, I didn't eat too much from it. The Arancini was just "good," nothing spectacular. However, that Carpaccio was the best item I tried all night. Fresh, delicious, and served with Lemon Arugula salad and Reggiano. Everyone agreed it was delicious! The portion was also generous for the 4 of us to share. I also ordered the Caesar Salad. This was pretty good, but again I thought I would be more "wowed." We ordered our entrees next. Two of us ordered the Lobster Bucatini. I was incredibly excited to try this because I love lobster, and well, pasta! That being said, I was pretty disappointed. There was a small shell that I almost swallowed. I didn't really have the energy to bring that to their attention and I get it, it's a lobster, they have shells, but that shouldn't be missed. The lobster was a bit overcooked. About the pasta, I know entrees can be way too large sometimes and you end up too full or going home with 3 days worth of leftovers. That being said, this was completely the opposite. I don't even think there was a regular portion of pasta in the dish. It was disappointing. I will say the flavor in this dish was amazing. My friend who ordered it also wasn't too impressed. My fiancé ordered the Italian Sausage Tajarin with a Pomodoro sauce and this was delicious. I feel he had about 3x as much pasta as I did, and it wasn't even a "large" portion, as all of the dishes are smaller ones in general. He shared some of his with me. So kind. I would definitely try this spot again and just order a few different things. The Italian Sausage Tajarin and Beef Carpaccio were both amazing, and I highly recommend those dishes! read more

I'm here for work and decided to have dinner at Cucciolo in Raleigh. Sat at the bar...best seat in the house for entertainment and great convo!! Seth and Kat are awesome in their craft and skill with cocktails!! Wine selection is wonderful!! I ordered the wild boar agnolotti and it was superb!! Flavorful! Brought me back to Florence!! Awesome dining experience!! Definitely worth a visit!! read more

You guys! You have to check out the newly opened Cucciolo Terrazza Raleigh in North Hills! What a great evening trying out the new dishes. The charcuterie board and filet mignon carpaccio were wonderful but omg the octopus was exquisite! I bless it as the new best in the triangle! Then the dishes came flying from the kitchen I wasn't able to take a pic of everything. The Agnello Con De Olive was my favorite paired with a bottle of German Rosè. The dessert was lemon mousse and it was as good as it looks! Yes I ate all of it Cappuccino was perfect and the dinner was capped with Sambuca with a couple of coffee beans. The decor was simple, open and classy. It was a bit loud but I think everyone was just having a nice time. Staff were very nice as well. read more

Another really clean and beautiful restaurant in Raleigh! I love all the the wood and metal used in the chairs and tables and lighting. I thought the menu was well designed-- there are pizzas, pastas, vegetables, meat-- something for everyone. I also like that they have an aperol spritz. I really enjoyed my veal chop, and all the vegetables that came with it. I could have used some more summer vegetables in the summer arancini. read more

Food is very good and they have gluten-free and Vegan options and modifiers on many items. Cocktails and wine list are also good. Service was great, maybe a tad slow. The ambiance inside is cool but unfortunately the acoustics are terrible so it's really hard having conversations here especially when it's busy. Supposedly they are considering adding more sound proofing in the future. read more

Service and ambiance were awesome! I got the spicy vodka rigatoni and added crispy prosciutto- I was worried about spice level but it wasn't spicy at all. Could have used a little bit more flavor. Cocktails were great too. I wish there were more pasta options maybe with some white sauce. read more
Atmosphere: Cucciolo Terraza is a dark and moody restaurant perfect for a novel dining experience or date night. We love the Cucciolo location in Durham, so we were excited to try their Raleigh location! Service: Our waiter was friendly and attentive during our meal. Our food did take slightly longer to come out, but we still got our dishes at a reasonable time. Food: We ordered the Polpette to start off our meal. The 2 dense, hearty Italian meatballs were quite filling and flavorful! For our main dishes, we ordered the Italian Sausage Campanelle, Wild Boar Agnolotti, and Butter Chicken "Sostanza" Style. The Italian Sausage Campanelle was good, but we felt that its flavors could be recreated at home. The Wild Boar Agnolotti, made of a spinach pasta, had a unique flavor that we couldn't quite put our finger on. It was deep, slightly meaty, and had a rich taste that we've never had before, but we unfortunately didn't find all that appealing. After a couple of bites, we had to frequently refresh our palettes with either water or one of the other dishes. We've ordered the Butter Chicken several times at the Durham location because we love the soft texture and flavor of the chicken. The chicken this time around wasn't as soft and tender as our previous experience, but was nevertheless still the highlight of our meal! Overall: We will always be big fans of Cucciolo but compared to the Durham location, we weren't as impressed. The meatballs and chicken were delicious but the pasta did not excite us this time around. Perhaps this might've been an off-night for this location, so we would still recommend trying Cucciolo Terraza! read more
I came with a large group for Saturday brunch and I was initially hesitant because I know this area can get busy but I was able to find parking easily. There's a lot and a parking deck nearby. The ambience was relaxing and exactly what you would expect for brunch. I ordered a pineapple mimosa and the spicy breakfast rigatoni which wax amazing on all levels! Our server was great and we definitely appreciated his patience for having to deal with such a large group. I will definitely visit again, perhaps, for dinner next time. read more

Attended an event which was an incredible delight!! Foods offered consisted of an open fire Turkey , whole roasted suckling pig and more Chef delights. This Is the next James Beard Chef in Raleigh ! Then DiRona ! Wine Spectator award .... Do I hear Michelin knocking?? Outstanding Job!! A true gem in North Hills !! read more
