I went to the Durham location and had such an amazing experience that I had to try this one since closer to home. I wanted to give it more stars but the service was lacking. Our server wasn't attentive , have bread to other tables but we had to ask, and wasn't coming back to take orders so we were there for 2.5 hours even though the place wasn't packed. Now food wise, it's delicious. We enjoyed everything we had and tried a lot since we did everything family style. The cocktails are delicious. For starters, we tried the meatball, carpaccio, and octopus. Hands down, the best octopus I've ever had. Perfectly cooked and the sauce underneath went so well! Even the bean salad on the side was amazing! The meatball was delicious! Tender and the sauce bursting with flavor. The carpaccio was yummy too but the other two antipasto were my favorite. The meatball sauce is what prompted us to ask for bread because we had to soak it all up! The pastas were amazing. Not as Al dente as I would have hoped but super flavorful. We tried the pesto, wild boar, lobster ravioli, the vodka Al pene and another one. All were delicious but my favorites were the wild boar and vodka Al penne. Everyone had a different favorite tho so goes to show they were amazing. The least favorite was the lobster ravioli. I expected a cream lobster inside but it was just lobster meat. Good but expected something different. Overall, good was stellar but wish service had been as good. As far as atmosphere: it is trendy and modern. This was the most close to perfect meal both my Sister and I have had out in quite awhile. Make reservations! Even for a Tuesday night, they filled up pretty fast. The restaurant is gorgeous with a variety of seating options. Big city vibe. Impressive for a date night, girl's night out, business meeting...really any occasion. Two small immediate dislikes...our table for two was very wobbly. Would have driven us crazy if our Server hadn't deftly fixed it for us right away when we pointed it out. And why oh why do we have to look at the drink menu on our phone if we are handed a paper menu for food? The internet service in there on my phone made it impossible for me to bring it up, but again...our Hero Server donated his phone for the win. Bring on the bottle of prosecco and let's get the party started! Arancini with Calabrian Chile dip to start for us. This was amazing! Surprisingly light and moist, unlike other heavily breaded arancini we've had in the past. And the spicy dip was perfect with it. Extra credit for an even amount (6)...perfect for sharing. For our entrees we decided to share the braised lamb with olives, gnudi, kale and onions, along with the Lobster Bucatini with fra dia volo sauce. Let me just say I'm not a big lamb person (Sis is), but I do love braised meat with a rich sauce and this is just that. The depth of flavor is something that takes time and real know-how. This Chef definitely knows what they are doing! And oh my, the Lobster Bucatini is the stuff dreams are made of. Nice spicy sauce as fra dia volo should be, perfectly cooked lobster and just-right bucatini...topped with a light creamy ricotta and tangy parmesan. sigh...pasta heaven! Full but curious about the lemon mousse dessert I had seen pictures of, we had to try this whimsical dessert. It looks like a real lemon when it arrives. Cut through the white chocolate, and inside are two layers...yellow and white. It is a fun dessert, but for something that looks like a real lemon, it was disappointing in lemon flavor. Same for the crumbled yellow cookie that is around it. I tell you, bring up the flavor level on this dessert to match the rest of what we had and it would be sheer perfection all around. loved my experience at their restaurant in Durham, and I loved this new Raleigh one. Can't wait to go back! Note: if you're wondering where it is, it's in the newer Advance Auto building on Six Forks. We parked in the lot that's behind the Another Broken Egg Cafe area (near Chuy's). Looked like they have a parking deck in the AA building, but we didn't try it. Also, other reviews I read mentioned the loud noise level in the dining room. I don't know if they fixed the problem, but where we were seated, we could hear each other with no problem. Dinner on a Thursday night at this new North Hills spot. Excellent food. The restaurant is located on the ground floor of an office building in trendy North Hills. Ample parking at lots and a nearby parking deck. It's a rectangular room with low walls separating sections. Perhaps 30 tables. Cool fixtures and a modern backlit bar. Tables are not covid-spaced; seating is very close together. This place is LOUD. Too loud to carry on a conversation without shouting. Reservations honored to the minute. Our server, Mike did a great job explaining the menu with recommendations, orchestrating the meal as ordered. There was a brief lapse after dinner and before dessert, but the manager stepped in to clear plates and take the dessert order. Thanks, both! Started with a charcuterie board and carpaccio. The board is a perfect appetizer-size with 3 meats, 3 cheeses and crisp baguette rounds. Fresh and delicious. Carpaccio is a generous plateful of micro-thin beef dressed lightly in lemon juice, topped with oil-dressed arugula and thinly shaved parmesan. An excellent prep of this classic - beef fresh and juicy, arugula tart and crisp, the perfect amount of lemon and oil. Next, tried shrimp & crab ravioli. 4 to a serving, the ravioli pasta is made with squid ink, so is solid black. Ravioli is stuffed with a ball of minced crab & shrimp.The taste is reminiscent of a chinese steamed dumpling. Ravioli is sauced in a saffron-infused stock, flecked with peas and slices of artichoke and dusted with red pepper flakes. An unexpected prep; unique and very tasty. The pasta is fresh and cooked perfectly. The blend of the stock, saffron and crab/shrimp very satisfying. I could do without the red peppers flakes - to me the heat takes away from the tone. But that's just me. Ended with a pair of desserts, Panna cotta and tiramisu. The Panna cotta is rich, sweet and creamy. It's topped with a sour pear compote. Custard: excellent. Pear: meh. Tiramisu outstanding. Tart, rich mascarpone atop soft lady fingers, topped with whipped cream and dusted with chocolate powder. I didn't taste rum or coffee distinctly but they're in there.... This is authentic tiramisu. Shout out to the coffee service. A prefect cup of cappuccino is served in an "it's our pleasure to serve you" coffee cup. The classic NY/NJ diner paper cup, reincarnated in ceramic. A very fun touch. Overall a delicious meal with great service. Many other choices to try so worth a return trip. First time visiting. Saw that Cucciolo Terrazza was awarded 2022 Best Restaurant by Raleigh Magazine and we weren't disappointed. They are located in the Advanced Auto Tower at North Hills. Service was spot on, no issues as a previous review had mentioned. Great bourbon list (I had a Blanton's Single Barrel). Very nice wine list with wines from all over the world - we selected an Italian Sparkling Barbera which was very nice with my Lasagna and my wife's Bronzino. We had started with the Arancini which is one of the more popular starters. It was wonderful. We ended with a seasonal dessert - Pumpkin Tiramisu which was fantastic. Overall top notch experience. Gotta love Yelp coming in clutch for a recommendation for a nice dinner in Raleigh to celebrate a friend's recent birthday. Although I lived in Raleigh for four years, the scene has changed quite a bit since then. North Hills has exploded since my day, and I was excited to discover a newer restaurant called Cucciolo Terraza. Good Italian food is hard to come by in Greensboro, so I had to jump on the opportunity for it when I found this place. OpenTable made it easy to secure a reservation at this popular, new spot at 5:30pm on a Friday night. If you aren't aware, Friday night holiday traffic in Raleigh is not for the faint of heart. It caused my friend to be late but the restaurant was super accommodating and still sat me at our table as I waited. I really enjoyed the ambiance of the room with all the pretty lights and Christmas decorations. It was fairly quiet when I first arrived but definitely got more boisterous as the dining room filled up over the course of the night. My friend and I shared a bottle of the Notte Rosa bubbly. It went down easily as we waited for our orders. Thankfully there was complimentary bread and an olive oil and balsamic reduction dip, so the alcohol didn't go straight to my head. For our entrees we ordered the Agnello con le Olive and the Spicy Vodka Tomato Cream Rigatoni. The ricotta gnudi was so light and creamy it basically melted on my tongue. Paired with the slow roasted lamb it was a fantastic dish. I devoured it heartily.  I'm so happy I discovered this place and look forward to an excuse to visit again soon! read more

No complaints at all! Finally an Italian place that gives you REAL Italian food. I stopped by for Brunch on a Saturday, was greeted by a friendly bartender and then seated at my table. The brunch menu is different from your typical BRUNCH menu, but it's well worth it. They stated that the pasta was handmade, and they're are not lying. The rigatoni was a delicious al Dente style , and the sauce!! AMAZING! They give you a healthy portion, but the best part was heating the leftovers at home and tasting the love they put in this dish! It had the perfect crunch on the outside while maintaining a tender meat within. We ordered the bolognese and spicy vodka rigatoni as entrees which were portioned optimally and delicious. Dinner with my bride, early for my reservation, late being seated. The drink menu is a scanned code on the menu, but the signal inside the restaurant is quite pitiful, so it took awhile for the drink menu to appear on the phone. Interesting menu - I cannot read Italian so it was hard to tell from the menu what's a main dish and what's an appetizer, so I asked about it and the server was glad to explain things. As it turns out the appetizers could easily have been most of a meal. The venison appetizer was absolutely terrific! The main dish, however, was extremely salty. Not sure why so much salt is necessary in these dishes. Service was on the slow side, but I believe that was intentional, to give you that European feel of not being rushed. The atmosphere was somewhat modern industrial and extremely LOUD. No point in trying to have any conversation. The place should invest in some soundproofing to keep the noise from bouncing around the entire room. Be prepared: drinks, appetizers, dinner and dessert - about $100/adult. At the end of the day, CT reminded me strongly of an Italian restaurant I visited in Toronto last fall. read more

This restaurant is so freaking good, like seriously delicious! Off the bat I will say the one thing I wish they had was outdoor seating. In this crazy pandemic world I appreciate an outdoor dining option-- even just a few tables on their sidewalk out front. But, beyond that the interior is beautiful. You can tell they put a lot of care and thought into what the interior would look like. They have multiple private event spaces that would be perfect for a birthday party or office luncheon. The service is always friendly and spot on. My favorite dish here is the beef carpaccio. I'm a sucker for beef carpaccio and their's does not disappoint. I love that they put it on a bed of arugula (vs their sister restaurant who does not), it makes it the perfect salty, tangy, peppery combo. My next favorite thing is the nduja pizzette. Nduja is a salami spread and let me tell you it's amazing. I could eat this pizette everyday, I literally can't come here without ordering it. The spicy vodka dish is also tasty, it's not too spicy. The first time we went the waitress said it was really spicy, so we didn't go for it. We ended up ordering it on a return visit and it wasn't too spicy at all. I've also had the crab and shrimp ravioli which is spot on. The only miss for me was their chocolate cannoli dessert-- it wasn't a cannoli, it was a puff pastry with a chocolate/ricotta filling. I wish they would have just called it something else, since I'm a big cannoli fan. They switch up the desserts on the regular and they always sound delicious. I've only been for an early dinner so parking is super easy in the lot right next door, but it does get trickier to find parking as the night goes on. My fiancé and I joined our two friends last night for a nice dinner at Cucciolo Terrazza. I really did want to LOVE this place, but I feel it was a bit hit or miss. I was torn between leaving 3 and 4 stars but I definitely think this place has potential. The spot was incredibly busy on a Thursday night. We got seated right away as we had a reservation for 6:30. The decor and atmosphere is modern and lovely. It's upscale but not fancy, yet still cozy. Our server was friendly, but I think it took about 20 plus minutes for him to come back and check on us after we were done eating. I am just stating that as a fact though, not a complaint, as they were incredibly busy, so I can usually understand being someone that worked at a restaurant on and off for many years. We all opted for a drink to start and they were all great. The Napa Cabernet was delicious. We then ordered a few appetizers for the table. We went with the Charcuterie Board, Filet Mignon Beef Carpaccio, and the Arancini. The Charcuterie Board was just your average Charcuterie Board, I didn't eat too much from it. The Arancini was just "good," nothing spectacular. However, that Carpaccio was the best item I tried all night. Fresh, delicious, and served with Lemon Arugula salad and Reggiano. Everyone agreed it was delicious! The portion was also generous for the 4 of us to share. I also ordered the Caesar Salad. This was pretty good, but again I thought I would be more "wowed." We ordered our entrees next. Two of us ordered the Lobster Bucatini. I was incredibly excited to try this because I love lobster, and well, pasta! That being said, I was pretty disappointed. There was a small shell that I almost swallowed. I didn't really have the energy to bring that to their attention and I get it, it's a lobster, they have shells, but that shouldn't be missed. The lobster was a bit overcooked. About the pasta, I know entrees can be way too large sometimes and you end up too full or going home with 3 days worth of leftovers. That being said, this was completely the opposite. I don't even think there was a regular portion of pasta in the dish. It was disappointing. I will say the flavor in this dish was amazing. My friend who ordered it also wasn't too impressed. My fiancé ordered the Italian Sausage Tajarin with a Pomodoro sauce and this was delicious. I feel he had about 3x as much pasta as I did, and it wasn't even a "large" portion, as all of the dishes are smaller ones in general. He shared some of his with me. So kind. I would definitely try this spot again and just order a few different things. The Italian Sausage Tajarin and Beef Carpaccio were both amazing, and I highly recommend those dishes! read more

It's pricy and rather elegant so bringing kids is a bit iffy. They don't have a kids menu, you just ask for what you want. My daughter ordered my two year old grandson pasta w butter and cheese. Out came a full sized plate of plain pasta and a small ramekin of Parmesan. $12. The rest of us ordered the pesto dish and the cacio Di Pepe. Pesto was good the Pepe was covered in melted cheese and didn't resemble classic cacio di pepe. So it was ok. They do not serve complementary bread so keep that in mind. What a nice surprise! Found this restaurant on a whim, they didn't show any reservations for the time we wanted but we were able to walk in and spend about 15 mins at the bar and get seated. The food is absolutely amazing! The pesto on the margarita pizzetta was out of bounds delicious, I had the ribeye steak and it was perfectly cooked and paired with zucchini and squash seasoned to perfection! The charcuterie board and filet mignon carpaccio were wonderful but omg the octopus was exquisite! I bless it as the new best in the triangle! Then the dishes came flying from the kitchen I wasn't able to take a pic of everything. The Agnello Con De Olive was my favorite paired with a bottle of German Rosè. The dessert was lemon mousse and it was as good as it looks! Yes I ate all of it Cappuccino was perfect and the dinner was capped with Sambuca with a couple of coffee beans. I thought the menu was well designed-- there are pizzas, pastas, vegetables, meat-- something for everyone. I also like that they have an aperol spritz. We love the Cucciolo location in Durham, so we were excited to try their Raleigh location! Service: Our waiter was friendly and attentive during our meal. Our food did take slightly longer to come out, but we still got our dishes at a reasonable time. Food: We ordered the Polpette to start off our meal. The 2 dense, hearty Italian meatballs were quite filling and flavorful! For our main dishes, we ordered the Italian Sausage Campanelle, Wild Boar Agnolotti, and Butter Chicken "Sostanza" Style. The Italian Sausage Campanelle was good, but we felt that its flavors could be recreated at home. The Wild Boar Agnolotti, made of a spinach pasta, had a unique flavor that we couldn't quite put our finger on. It was deep, slightly meaty, and had a rich taste that we've never had before, but we unfortunately didn't find all that appealing. After a couple of bites, we had to frequently refresh our palettes with either water or one of the other dishes. We've ordered the Butter Chicken several times at the Durham location because we love the soft texture and flavor of the chicken. The chicken this time around wasn't as soft and tender as our previous experience, but was nevertheless still the highlight of our meal! Overall: We will always be big fans of Cucciolo but compared to the Durham location, we weren't as impressed. The meatballs and chicken were delicious but the pasta did not excite us this time around. I came with a large group for Saturday brunch and I was initially hesitant because I know this area can get busy but I was able to find parking easily. There's a lot and a parking deck nearby. The ambience was relaxing and exactly what you would expect for brunch. I ordered a pineapple mimosa and the spicy breakfast rigatoni which wax amazing on all levels! Food is very good and they have gluten-free and Vegan options and modifiers on many items. Cocktails and wine list are also good. Service was great, maybe a tad slow. The ambiance inside is cool but unfortunately the acoustics are terrible so it's really hard having conversations here especially when it's busy. Supposedly they are considering adding more sound proofing in the future. read more
