This was our first time at the new location and we absolutely love it! it has the same cozy charm as the old location, just bigger and a bit more modern. the food was amazing as always. i really enjoyed the Ravioli! 10/10 all the way around.

Last nights dinner experience was one I have rarely ever had. I felt like our server did not care to be involved at all. Starting from the basics, we saw everyone had a bread basket but us. I also ordered steak and frites, and had asked the server if I was able to get it well-done (I know some restaurants do not like to) he said yes thats fine. Upon slicing the steak, it was still pink and not well-done. I could not even let the server know as after our food was delivered, the server NEVER came back to check on us. The person serving us water came more than the actual waiter. I had to switch food and eat the chicken and gave my steak away. I would not even say it was busy as even when we received the bill, the waiter did not come back until 10-15 minutes later to retrieve it. I am honestly dissapointed. The only reason it got two stars was the presentation was nice and the ladies serving us water were kind.

Nestled in North Ridge, this place delivers on more than just a meal. Whether you're here for a romantic dinner, a celebratory feast, or just to see if their tiramisu lives up to the name (spoiler: it does), you'll enjoy your time. On our most recent visit, we enjoyed their spin on the espresso martini, the eggplant stacker, insalata di zucca and wedge salads, and the autumn chicken and gnocchi for entrees. No room for dessert this time but we can't wait to return!

Cafe Tiramisu is a very intimate Italian restaurant located in a shopping center in North Raleigh. I loved how private the restaurant was because there were these screens between the booths that made your dining experience special. The inside was also very elegant and dimly lit. We chose this restaurant because everyone talks very highly of it, so we had to get the famous spinach alfredo. I got it with pollo alla paola and my partner got it with grilled shrimp. I was able to get mine without prosciutto because I don't eat pork so don't be afraid to ask because many of the choices here had prosciutto. It also came with a lemon sauce that I wasn't a fan of and was a little strong. The shrimp order was a custom order. The menu consisted of different variations of mostly chicken with their spinach alfredo along with a few steak, pork chop, and fish options. The food was very filling but could use a touch more of seasoning. We got a side of creamed spinach but it was more like sautéed spinach on a plate of milk so I wasn't a fan. The cocktails were good.

I came here after work one night with friends. This is a little hole in the wall spot, located within a strip mall. I would never have stumbled into this place if it wasn't for my friend, who had been here before, and swore by it. I'm glad I came here. I am from New Jersey and let me tell you, I have high standards for Italian food, coming from there. We started out with the burrata as an appetizer, along with the complimentary bread. The bread was delicious! It came out warm and was paired with salted butter, and pesto with olive oil. The bread had the perfect amount of fluff and crunch. The butter melted into the air pockets of each bread slice; but what made it even better was the pesto and olive oil. That was the perfect touch and made for quite a delectable bite every time. The burrata came out very fast. The plating was nice, and even though I have experienced burrata that was smoother; this was delicious. For my entree I ordered their Pollo Ripeno and I am glad I did.l! The chicken was perfectly cooked but what made the chicken even better was that it was stuffed with Italian sausage and mozzarella. It was paired with homemade spinach linguine (that you could tell was fresh) in a pesto cream sauce. I was only able to finish half the dish. When it was time for dessert, my table ordered the tiramisu. I'll be honest, I've had better tiramisu. The lady fingers weren't dense at all. The texture of the cake was not at all what I would expect tiramisu to be. I was disappointed by it. Lastly, I was also disappointed by the service this visit. Our waiter would infrequently come to our table. I'm rating this experience 4/5 stars because of the food alone. I am dreaming of that entree.

Another hidden gem near Wake Forest! My husband and I came here for an early Valentine's Day dinner. The ambiance is upscale romantic. We felt transported to another place. The food was delicious and service was amazing. Everything was seasoned and flavored so so well. Highly recommend!

Lovely Italian spot! The restaurant is small, so be sure to make a reservation. They have dividers in the room for COVID between the bar section and some tables too. The grilled shrimp appetizer is delicious as is the blueberry salad. They also make all their desserts in house, tiramisu, Godiva chocolate cake, cannolis, etc. They also started having seasonal cocktails and specials for the day. Amber was a great waitress and took great care of us.

We celebrated our 24th anniversary at this long standing Raleigh establishment. First time for us. Hard to believe that this has been in existence for over 20 years! Holy cannoli! Located in a North Ridge strip mall, near Salt & Lime, it's a small, unassuming presence. Glad we decided to make reservations as there are less than a dozen tables and it was packed on this Monday night. The servers and hostess act as a team and I love that. Our drinks were never even close to empty. Kudos to management and staff for smiles, cheerfulness and great service. For starters, I opted for the eggplant Parmesan stack. Perfectly fried with mozzarella and tomatoes, this was a great start! The bread was crusty goodness and the oil and parsley addicting. For my entree, I opted for scallops with risotto in a very savory sauce. Hubby raved over his chicken piccata. My only critique would be the noise level but won't ding the 5 star rating as everything else was perfecto! A nice touch when the hostess greeted us with a happy anniversary.

My wife and I decided to try somewhere new for our 24th Anniversary and found this place. It is one of the best Italian restaurants I've been to in Raleigh. The service was fantastic, my water glass never even got below 1/2 full and Binh our server brought extra bread without even having to ask her, excellent bread too. I had the Chicken Piccata and my wife had the Scallops with risotto and both were excellent and stayed hot the entire meal. We didn't have any drinks but they do have a full bar to choose from. I'm already talking about this place to people at work today and ready to go back again soon. The only bad thing is that it's small, which makes it s bit louder than usual, but that's very small compared to how good the food and service is. I'd recommend this place to everyone that loves Italian food and wants a new place to try.

The pumpkin arancini is a stroke of genius and should be the first thing you order! I had the sea bass (catch of the day) also unique, with olives and blistered tomatoes. Light, perfectly done & flavorful: exquisite. The ravioli with boar meat is an option too interesting to pass up, and it did not disappoint. The cocktail selection was solid- I was especially pleased to see a nod to classic cocktails that were expertly done. The wine list is unusual. When we inquired about it, the waiter said the owners of the restaurant, both sommeliers, continue to develop their list based on what is available due to tariffs and the related challenges with sourcing. So, for an Italian restaurant offering wine selections from Turkey and Chile, there were big shoes to fill, and the wines were lovely- for each dish we ordered. Cannoli for dessert (1?) was delicious. Next time we hope to try the key lime panna cota or other offerings, they looked straightforward on the menu, but I am certain they will be a post-dinner delight that reflects the thoughtfulness of the rest of the menu.

Tiramisu was also more flavor than sweet which is what we love. Waiter was very attentive and helpful in suggesting dishes. Overall - if I don't count the mishap on seating - it was a good experience.

First of all, I implore anyone wanting to go, make reservations during peak hours! We entered through a big heavy wooden door into the quasi-dark atmosphere and were promptly seated, despite most of the tables being occupied. We were given a two top and started with chips and guacamole. I was impressed with the chips, they were a little extra thick, had tiny bubbles in them. Certainly a far departure from the typical thin, overly salty chip found at most restaurants and grocery stores. Excellent guac with a little pico and lime wedge on the side. I ordered the Baja bowl with shredded adobo chicken. The bowl had green rice, black beans, a whole lot of kale, tomatillo sauce, pickled red onions, crema, and cilantro. It needed a little more, so I added in some of the guac, a few chips I crumbled in my hands for some crunch, and some fresh lime juice. Noah did a good job keeping our water glasses full and he was quite friendly. However, the restroom situation is a bit difficult. There are two small unisex bathrooms, both of which have to be locked. There can't be more than one person in there at the same time, so plan accordingly. Granted, since there isn't much space in the restaurant, it's not as if they have a ton of options.

The Radiatore small pasta was delicious and satisfying while just the right size for lunch, adding chicken for a protein boost. My friend enjoyed the Chicken Parm Sando and Kardashian Chopped Salad. Good service in a surprisingly well decorated atmosphere, I would come back to Flour & Barrel for more Italian goodness! The Deets: I wanted to catch up with a friend over a weekday lunch and we scoped out Flour & Barrel in DTR to do just that. When entering in from the pretty nondescript exterior/entrance on the corner of North and Harrington Streets, it becomes a colorful well decorated bistro/bar type feeling inside which is welcoming. We were shown to our table next to one of the wide windows facing North St, I liked this table with lots of natural light and yes, I am a people watcher as well. The server took our drink orders and asked if we had any questions about the menu. The lunch menu is pretty succinct but well represented, offering focaccia sandwiches (sandos), small pastas (pasta handmade in-house), and salads. It also has a wine and craft beer selection also if needed. My friend went with the Chicken Parmesan Focaccia Sando (has pomodoro, mozzarella, and basil) with Kardashian Chopped Salad (made with romaine, salami, provolone, piquillo peppers, artichoke, and garbanzo) for a side while I chose the Radiatore small pasta selection. The Radiatore is described on the menu as "our version of carbonara but creamier / guanciale / egg" so naturally it caught my eye. I am usually pretty cut and dry about wanting carbonara to be the traditional type but since they stated upfront that this is their version, I was willing to give it a go. I am glad I did, as this pasta dish was great. The serving was the perfect size for lunch, plus I was able to add chicken to it as well. The sauce was creamy and delicious, going well with the al dente pasta. This meal was most satisfying and I would love to get this one again in the future. My friend really enjoyed the sando so much, he had originally planned to eat half and take the other half home...that didn't work out the way he planned as he devoured the whole sandwich there, it was that good. He also enjoyed the salad as well. Our server did well checking on us and making sure we had what we needed.
