Cubo Bistro has been open for eight months, yet, surprisingly, I was not aware of it until this week. Is located in the Centro Culturel de Tijuana ["CECUT"] on Paseo de las Heroes and is part of the Grupo Plascencia family of restaurants, so you can be assured of a certain level of quality. It should be noted that the valet parking station is located directly on the Glorietta [Traffic Circle], so look for the orange cones to designate where to drive up. When I inquired as to the restaurant's entrance, the courteous valet me walked me from my car across the plaza to the restaurant's front door. I was acquainted with the manager at Cubo, who used to work at Caesar's on "Revo". I did not recognize any of the waiters from other restaurants, but nonetheless, Gerson took care of me nicely. It was a hot day, so I ordered a bottle of cool and crisp Monte Xanic "Vina Kristal" Sauvignon Blanc. Inexplicably, there was "Blue Nun" on the wine list---I have never seen that in Tijuana, or in San Diego for that matter. What's up with that? The dining room is of a modern design, with vast windows looking out onto the busy Glorietta, a terrace and a pretty interior lined on one side by a banquette of tufted caramel-colored vinyl. From the menu, I selected the Sardinera ["Grouper"], served atop a mushroom risotto, which I enjoyed. Although the restaurant was not crowded, the food took awhile to come out from the open kitchen, which did not bother me one whit, since I had the wine being continually poured by Gerson, and the WIFI worked perfectly, as it always does in Tijuana. read more

Is my first time at Cubo Bistro. My friends and I went to see a play at el Cecut and decided to have diner here. Was the best idea if you want to see a play, restaurant is located inside Cecut and provide parking for a small fee $11 pesos per hour. I had onion soup one of the most delicious I ever had and Plátano Macho tacos extra delicious taste! Atmosphere is trendy and elegant! I can't wait to go back! read more

Everything that we ate was delicious from the hot appetizer (bone tuetano), the Cubo salad, salmon, steak fillet and dessert (cream brulé), my fiance had 2 Margaritas to drink Mango and a Tamarind both delicious my self a cocktail and glass of local wine for the steak. Cubo Bistro is a classic restaurant that is a prime example of the La Familia Plascencia who operates several restaurants in Tijuana. Moises Salazar presides as General Manager for the Grupo Placencia. Salazar prepared Crepe Suzette on the terrace one afternoon. First pouring the strago liquor into the ladle warmed over a fire. Each succeeding step towards the end process entertains all patrons sitting on the terrace. Preceding deserts we enjoyed pizza, cheese plate, prime steaks, pulpo, onion soup covered in a crust, bouillabaisse soup with a bisque base. I went to the restaurant by an invitation of my old friend Henry Sanchez on Oct. 6, 20018.It was a reunion of a group of profesionals and busiisness oners called the Compadres in the border area.After all the introductions and hand shakes the socialising started with a large selection of spirits and wines .The o`deurs were deliciuos, after a while they brough the menu.It consisted of filet mignon and also salmon filet. I odered the filet mignon. The food was out of this world, the service was outstanding and we were outside looking at the avenue. Every time I`d been in Tijuana for dinner or lunch I always had a good experience but neve like the one I had at Cubo Bistro. Defenitly I`ll will go again. Pretty good place, tried the Burger and the French seafood soup. Burger was a little too seasoned and the bun was a little heavy.

What a great find. I went here with my friends and we all left very satisfied. The lamb chops were amazing. A fine dining experience like this would be at least 4 to 5 times more in San Diego. I would definitely return when I visit Tijuana again. read more

The service was extremely unattentive on a slow random Tuesday night and what a shame because the food and restaurant was really pretty impressive. We sat for a good ten-fifteen minutes (at least - we almost walked out and we're both pretty patient) before our server came to greet us. Nice bread and butter was then brought to the table. To start we had a fresh and delicious beet and goat cheese salad topped with tasty seasoned asparagus. We then shared a ribeye steak and both filled up off it. All for less than $30 U.S. seemed fair for a fine dining spot in a very nice location. Hopefully you won't wait 15 - 20 minutes to place any order after seated like we did though. read more

The food is good but the service just was not up to par. We had a table of about 20 people and we reserved a huge table on the outside patio. After about and hour of socializing a d lots of drinks. We ordered our food . half the table received their food . The other half was just watching people eat the messed up 3 people's orders. Then it started raining so we tried to move in side the place was packed there was no more tables the offered to open a private room for us on the Terraza. After waiting 30 minutes for the key . The ap policies brought up some tables and chairs from storage . Then squeezed us in to a realy small space were we had no room and the waiters were tripping over us. The food that had been served had been left out side and got wet. The half of food that wasn't served yet . They had stopped firing on the line completely once we got settled . I still had to wait an hour for my steak . They messed up e more orders and when they were returned the waiters took on plate served it on two small plates and when we complained the head waiter fixed the problem re took the orders and everything was okay I was the last to get my food and the plate was so hot I burned my hand and the steak was cold . I returned it they put it back on the grill the filly got their stuff together my stake was delicious. But it was medium well I ordered it medium rare .at this point I just wanted to get the he'll out of there. I ate and quickly asked for the bill . 5 people from our party left with out ever getting their food . They cancled their order and left . I will never go to place ever again worst fine dinning experience ever and it's way over priced . If your going to charge those prices you need to have way better service read more
