I just left and I'm already making plans to return! We tried a variety of their filling empanadas, croquetas, fries, and tostones. All the food was hot and delicious! My favorite item was the limited time Mac and cheese fritter. Despite most of the items being fried, they were not oily and had a fresh taste. They provided us with exceptional service. We told them it was our first time visiting and they took their time explaining the menu and highlighting the many awards Cubita's has received within the community. I really loved the "Cuba meets hip hop" aesthetic and decor. The music was also on point! Street parking can be challenging but worth circling the block for.

Super impressed with the quality and inventiveness of this place. We had so many empanadas and they were all great a big highlight was the Noche Buena empanada. Wow. I ate 3 empanadas that day they were so good and the Hot Coquito Latte was also excellent. Service and vibes top tier.

LOVE CUBITA CAFE! The empanadas are amazing and super filling. The service is quick, and if you want something that's not on display, they're happy to make it fresh on the spot. The café is small, but I absolutely love the cozy vibes.

Shrimp with garlic rice. Hands down, the best empanada I've ever had.

Food porn bucket list checked off! Ive had my eye on this spot for awhile, and glad i finally made my way here. Honestly, this wont be the last time either. I cant stop thinking about the shrimp with garlic rice. this had me smiling. i am a hater, and let's face it, empanada spots are a dime a dozen now, but this one was incresibly impressive. Why is this spot unique? The crust, the flavor, and how full each one is. The flakey to gently fried shell of each empanada is what helps hold in these heavy, but tasty little meals. the flavor was on point for all 3. i did favor certain ones over the others, but i didnt hate any. each one i had (4 in total), had layers and levels of seasoning. arroz con leche: end your meal with this one. its perfect on its own too. the rice is cooked well, but its not too sweet. i love how unique it is, because although i love guava and cheese or your regular nutella empanada, theyre played out. this one killed. chicken: felt like a chicken stew, good flavor, but i didnt fall in love with it. i know this is a greatest hit, but i just didnt fall in love with it. i think i want more of the chicken to come through. however, i loved how full it was and loved the seasoning overall. also, i was gifted this for free by the owner, which is always appreciated. everything bagel with cheese: tasty and unique. i love the seasoned shell. this murdered. the cheese inner was nice, but i feel it might need 2 types of cheese? not sure, but the inner was underwhelming compared to the outter. im sure the bacon egg n cheese is a different animal and lives up the hype. shrimp with rice and garlic: oh my lord. im coming back for this alone. its filled. shrimp comes through. the garlic creeps on you. rice is cooked well. its delicious in every bite. the shells holds it in. the place itself is small, narrow, but great for a quick snack. seems like a good take out spot too. theres maybe 3 small tables, open concept so you can see them cooking, and an area with a hightop area in the front. the smoothies are tasty too! ask for the 2 side sauces to dip yours in, but im warning you..each empanada had so much flavor, the sauce isnt needed. staff is welcoming, friendly and really happy to talk to you about the food. cant wait to come back!

Food tastes good & my cashier was great! The vibe is really chill, too. The music selection was also great lol.

I was immediately greated upon entering the store. I needed a few minutes to decide what to get and the person at the front was really helpful in answering all my questions. I ended up getting the Maduro and cheese empanada, guava and cream cheese empanada, and Oreo empanada. I wasn't crazy about the guava and cream cheese empanada - in my opinion it was overstuffed, but the Oreo empanada was one of the best things I've ever eaten!!! The place is really cool! The menus are all handwritten on a black dry erase board and neon colors and there's bar-like seating on the wall so you wait/eat your small bites. I can't wait to back and try some of their sandwiches

Came here while in town on Memorial Day, after a town event. We were able to find abundance of parking. We were greeted by a very kind gentleman at the register. We ordered the Coquito latte, chimichurri chicken empanada, chorizo egg and cheese empanada, pan con bistec, and Cubits breakfast Sammy. Everything was tasty, delicious and came out warm. We loved the old school hip-hop vibe of the Cafe. Very unique and inviting spot with wonderful service. Definitely returning for additional tasting

I have been meaning to get here , and I finally had some time to escape work. I ordered online for pick up, the specialty cuban and breakfast empanada with pork roll. The empanada was delicious, I wish it had some more pork roll in it (it was a little under done too) but the egg was cooked perfectly, and the dough was super fresh, flaky soft yet crispy. The addition of the everything seasoning really made it feel like a bagel. The specialty cuban was fantastic as well. Locally sources iberic ham was a great addition to the pork. The pork was slightly dry , but overall it had great flavor. The bread was great as well and held up as it should.

Cubita is the place to come for the best coffee and empanadas. Yes, their sandwiches are delicious but for me - a cafe con leche and a chicken empanada is the way to go. All their coffee is great, the cortadito, the coquito latte. You can't go wrong, it's strong delicious coffee and it's hand crafted to perfection. The empanadas have the perfect crispy shell and jam packed with flavor and ingredients. The chicken and the platano maduro are my favorites. I've tried all of them and my boyfriend loves the breakfast empanadas and the Cuban as well. I still have to try their arroz con pollo one day. I also find street parking is easy and the staff is super friendly. The interior is laid back with some really fun decor. I'm very happy this place is close by. It's my go to for a coffee pick me up and a little indulgent savory treat. Oh and don't forget the sauce for the empanadas - delicious!

Food: 5 out of 5. The chicken chorizo empanadas was so delicious and well seasoned. The Cuban sandwich was amazing as well, honest can prob be split between two people. Taking a bite into the sandwich you could tell it was home made. The maracuja shake with water was also refreshing. Service: 5 of 5 the employees here were super friendly and patient. They were helpful in answering any questions we had about the menu. Ambiance. Space isn't too big however you can def come here to sit and have a quick lunch.

PROS: The staff is very nice, food is fresh and good, menu variety is plentiful and it's priced well, it's clean inside, there's street parking and a lot behind it. CONS: They were slow with making the coffee and the place is cramped inside OVERALL: This is by far the best empanada place ive ever been to. I will be coming back

    Café bombón
    Rosa R.

I've been meaning to come here for a minute but it wasn't in the cards until today. I got a cafe bombon and it was just right. The ratio of espresso and condensed milk was perfect, just perfect. I got four empanadas: platano maduro with cheese, guava and cheese, bacon-egg-and-cheese and chorizo-egg-and-cheese. My go-to empanada growing up has always been a guava and cheese, you know, the traditional one. I have to say, the untraditional ones really won me over. The platano one is the runner up and the winner was the chorizo-egg-and-cheese. I would've never have predicted this. They were so sweet and savory and overall really well-crafted. They look compact but they are stacked on the inside. Chef's kiss. I'll be honest, I've paid $4-$5 for "artisanal" empanadas that lacked flavor, an actual stuffing and creativity. So I came here with somewhat of a hesitation but an open mind. I'm glad optimism prevailed because these were delicious. I'll be back for a sandwich next time.

El Cubano Sandwich. The best !!!
    meron R.

Stopped in for what my friends were telling me is the best Cuban sandwich around these parts & im here to tell you it's no lie!! This sandwich is constructed perfectly with the correct bread and ingredients you can tell that are prepared with pride and love for what they do. The empanadas are also made from scratch including their dough. The one I had was with Madura and Swiss cheese (yum). If you have even the slightest hankering for a Cuban sandwich then come straight to Cubita and see for yourself.

( place was packed and busy ) . Service is definitely a 10 out of 10 from the minute with walk in the door . Beautiful decor , friendly and welcoming hostess . We were seated and right the way a gentleman named Mathias came to serve us , what an amazing personality , friendly , knowledgeable of the menu , efficient.. I can just keep on going . We were also helped by a lady named Jenny whom I found out later is the manager of the place . She even got me a special hook/stand to hang my pocketbook instead of leaving on the floor . The food was ordered and served within 30 minutes , to cooked to perfection. We had the Chuleta / pina . Pork chops with pineapple and caramelized onions , pollo rumbero - chicken with prosciutto and cheese in a white sauce , and boiled yucca . Food was spectacular, complements to the chef , table was always clean and service was beyond outstanding from beginning to end . Team work , great atmosphere, great food . Can't ask for anything better !!! Oh, and the was a drink called el guayabero , made from guava poured and rum that is to die for ... If you're in the area I would definitely recommend this amazing experience . Thank you Mathias , Jenny and the rumba Cubana staff for making it a great night ..

The next day we heated up the left overs for lunch. As I was eating, I saw something strange on my plate. I wasn't sure what is was. I placed it on a napkin and my husband dissected it with 2 toothpicks. I couldn't believe there was a strand of a thick steel scrubbing pad in my beans. We took pictures of it and then tossed the food in the trash. We immediately called Rumba and spoke with Jenny, the manager. She apologized, texted me, and requested pictures of the food. I sent her the pictures via text and to my disbelief, I never heard from her again. It has been 11 days and she completely disregarded me and my family. What a disgrace! She did not even have the decency to offer a refund or anything. My husband and I have been loyal patrons of Rumba since 2019. We have celebrated numerous birthdays, holidays, and anniversaries in their establishments. We definitely do not feel like valued customers after this experience. Thank God that my six year old daughter, my husband, nor I did not ingest this piece of steel scrubbing pad. Having done so could have lead to serious/fatal consequences. The fact that Jenny did not take this issue seriously is disheartening. Finding a steel strand in your food is a major health hazard not to be ignored. It's a shame! We feel extremely disappointed and will not be returning. I certainly do NOT recommend Rumba in Clifton.

My husband ordered a chicken empanada and it was filled with chicken and rice and not fully fried. When I asked the server to fry it some more, she brought a new one out that was a bit more fried but just as pale as the first one. The inside was not tasty at all and it was definitely not colombian. Then there was the stale Colombian beef empanadas. These were probably the worst of all. We also ordered a bread that we asked if it was filled with cheese, the server said yes....and it had ham and cheese, so my son did not eat it. This could've just been a miscommunication, but most places tend to clarify when it is not just cheese, but also includes something else with it. The menu is very small, so I decided to order a burger which was made with pulled beef and was actually delicious. They also have Colombian style scrambled eggs and coffee which my husband liked. If it's just based on food I would say it was 50/50 your chances of getting something tasty, but because the service was not attentive or friendly (we were the only people in the cafe for awhile), it is not a place I would return to. Maybe it was just an off day?
