    Chicharron Cerdo Pork Rinds, yummm
    Kristen G.

My boyfriend and I stopped in here Saturday after walking through a part of Branch Brook Park. This spot was nearby. It seemed like a Dominican deli at first sight. We walked in and there formed a line behind us. Phones ringing off the hook! This place is definitely popular. We ordered the pork, chicken soup, and chicharron. Comes with a huge portion of rice and beans lol. We didn't eat the rice or beans. The best was the pork! So tender and juicy. Amazing flavor. Highly recommend! It was a little on the oily side. The next best was the chicharron. Crunchy and tender, perfect flavor!! So delicious and juicy! Highly recommend. It is very oily though. Messy! The chicken soup was also delicious!! A little bit of spice and the meat falls right off the thighs. Hefty portions. So awesome!! And our total was $28. So filling and so worth it! We would come here again.

Saw this come up as a suggestion and me being Dominican, I put this place to the rest this morning. Got a traditional Dominican breakfast Los Tres Golpes (Mangu, Salami, Fried Eggs, Fried Cheese). Ordered this from Yelp for delivery. It came on time. Still nice and hot!! At first glance it was plated the way it normally is, smelled authentic too. Now, as I began to dig into this the first bite was on point and then I killed the entire meal!! Bite after bit a goodness the plantains were mashed perfectly, the Salami was perfectly cooked and juicy. The red onions seasoned perfectly and the egg yolk nice a runny all over the mashed plantains. This took me back and I definitely loved it. I also got me a good old fashioned Cuban sandwich and my goodness it was really huge and had lots of fresh pernil on it and took a bite of it and was in heaven!!! Overall everything was excellent!! Spanish Version of my review: Vi esto como una sugerencia y yo siendo dominicano, puse este lugar para el resto esta mañana. Tengo un desayuno tradicional dominicano Los Tres Golpes (Mangu, Salami, Huevos Fritos, Queso Frito). Pedí esto en Yelp para su entrega. Llegó a tiempo.

Whoa I've been totally missing out on this place! Thanks to a gift card given to us for Grubhub we stumbled upon this restaurant and decided to give them a try for lunch today. I literally thought I was back eating in Washington Heights as the food was so tasty, authentic and abundant! They loaded my platter with tons of rice and 4 huge lean pieces of oxtail in a perfectly seasoned sauce! Beans on the side just how I prefer! Hubby raved of his pollo guisado and the empanada was crispy and flaky with a touch of spice. I seriously can't wait to try them again this weekend! Order directly thru them now on their website and save 15% off your first order! Be sure to check their daily specials as not all items are available throughout the week. Enjoy!

Boo Boo had dinner plans one night so I was free to roam around and eat whatever I wanted. Rice and beans came to mind because I used to get bullied by Dominican Dan in middle school. DD was fat so I'm sure it because of all the pork and beans he ate. I've had this place bookmarked for a awhile so i knew this was hole in a wall place. I parked 2 blocks away in front of someone's house and walked over. They have their own parking lot but the road was too busy. As I soon I walked-in and saw was the meats in a 5 gallon bucket. It confirmed the hole in the wall status. I ordered pernil with rice and beans. it took less than 2 minutes for them to scoop it up and me to pay for it. Takeout is the best option. Seating is limited with 2 tables.

If you are looking for authentic, reasonably priced, big portions of Dominican food... this is the place! Their menu changes daily so I would look at their menu before going there or calling in for pick up. *They have sancocho every Saturday!* Most meals range from 7-10 dollars and come with rice and your entree selection and a portion of beans. Their oxtails and pernil (pulled pork) are two of my favorites! Note that they have a lot in the back to park in since there is no street parking but it is pretty tight. I've seen people hit other cars trying to pull out kind of tight. Also, this is not a "dine-in" type of restaurant. They have three small tables but it is pretty crowded to eat there.

So after having a bad experience I decided to go back and try them again . The women approach my coworker and stated Why did she write a bad rating for everyone to see when she should've contacted the place . However she denied it and the women insisted that it was her when it wasn't. She was rude and mad that I wrote a rating in which the food was bad. You DO NOT approach customers that aren't happy like that . And because of that I will NOT return back to the restaurant.

This was recommended by a recent new friend. I regret listening to her. As I waited patiently to be attended to, all the locals were waiting on first. It didn't matter that I was there first, they were on first name bases. I ordered 2 luncheons of white rice, pink beans, 3 Empandas: (chicken and beef),and pollo guisado. I paid and took it home. Excited to eat it, my first bite was like mmmm this is good. Second bite was it' s a bit salty, third bite was like it really salty. I had to throw out the second luncheon afraid my daughter might eat it and swell up. Drank plenty of water, still it was too salty. I won't recommend this place to anyone.

My go to Spanish restaurant. Their carne guisada is top notch. I also enjoy their empanadas. Food is always hot and fresh.

We settled on splitting one savory and one sweet brunch dish We ordered ginger-lemograss tea and coffee ahead of the tres leches pancakes and the short rib juevos rancheros. The dishes came out quickly and beautifully presented. The egg was perfectly fluffy and complimented the melty delicious short rib. It's one of those dishes that gets even more delicious as you eat it. The meal was perfectly balanced, made with fresh, high quality ingredients. The chef was back there doin his thing! The pancakes were fluffy came topped with blueberries and strawberries, and a generous carafe of dulce de leche. I was worried that it might be a little sweet, but again this dish was perfectly balanced and flavorful. We will definitely make a trip back for brunch in the near future.

Place is welcoming and had nice natural lighting. We got their Huevos Rancheros, roasted chicken, tuna chaufa and lomo saltado. everything was great - good portions and beautiful flavors! Especially loved their Earl Grey latte too. the flavors of tea and espresso were very well balanced I would love to get that drink again. Also got their smores cookie for a nice sweet ending. We ended up chatting away even after we dined. Staff was very polite reminding us they needed the spot and was also kind enough to give us a some time even before the reminder. Would definitely recommend this place!
