This place is great and authentic. The food is always fresh to order and this is the closest I've found to true Dominican food. Their mofongo is never stale. Always fresh and garlicky like how I love it. Their chuletas (pork chops) are always well seasoned and fried hard but not dry. The rice and beans are always on point. Saw this come up as a suggestion and me being Dominican, I put this place to the rest this morning. Got a traditional Dominican breakfast Los Tres Golpes (Mangu, Salami, Fried Eggs, Fried Cheese). Ordered this from Yelp for delivery. It came on time. Still nice and hot!! At first glance it was plated the way it normally is, smelled authentic too. Now, as I began to dig into this the first bite was on point and then I killed the entire meal!! Bite after bit a goodness the plantains were mashed perfectly, the Salami was perfectly cooked and juicy. The red onions seasoned perfectly and the egg yolk nice a runny all over the mashed plantains. This took me back and I definitely loved it. I also got me a good old fashioned Cuban sandwich and my goodness it was really huge and had lots of fresh pernil on it and took a bite of it and was in heaven!!! Overall everything was excellent!! Boo Boo had dinner plans one night so I was free to roam around and eat whatever I wanted. Rice and beans came to mind because I used to get bullied by Dominican Dan in middle school. DD was fat so I'm sure it because of all the pork and beans he ate. I've had this place bookmarked for a awhile so i knew this was hole in a wall place. I parked 2 blocks away in front of someone's house and walked over. They have their own parking lot but the road was too busy. As I soon I walked-in and saw was the meats in a 5 gallon bucket. If you are looking for authentic, reasonably priced, big portions of Dominican food... this is the place! Their menu changes daily so I would look at their menu before going there or calling in for pick up. *They have sancocho every Saturday!* Most meals range from 7-10 dollars and come with rice and your entree selection and a portion of beans. Their oxtails and pernil (pulled pork) are two of my favorites! Note that they have a lot in the back to park in since there is no street parking but it is pretty tight. I've seen people hit other cars trying to pull out kind of tight. Also, this is not a "dine-in" type of restaurant. They have three small tables but it is pretty crowded to eat there. read more

I used to go to my friend's moms house for dinner almost every other day and this place brings back those memories of when she'd make us food. I usually get the rabo (they only serve this on Thursdays) and sancocho. You also can't go wrong coming here for breakfast and ordering mangu con salami with eggs and maduros. You can feed a whole family from this place for $20 and that's one of the things I love about this place, the price and their serving sizes. Honestly, I was pleasantly surprised by how good their breakfast was! The fried cheese, salami, and mangu was so tasty I went two days in a row! The second day, I also purchased pernil, rice and peas. The pork was juicy, flavorful and moist. Of course the rice and beans were perfection and they give you so much! This amazing hole-in-the-wall Dominican restaurant serves up a mean mofongo and mangú. When I say it's a mean one I'm talking about Chris Brown and Rihanna level...whoops sorry too soon. Anyways this restaurant in Belleville has some of the most authentic and delicious Puerto Rican and Dominican dishes this side of the Hudson River! My favorite mofongo from Mi Tierra would have to be with shrimp (camarones). They cook this dish to order. No pre-made stuff here people. I came into the store, ordered mofongo, and actually saw them make everything from scratch. Just like grandma used to make is what pops-up in my head. The slight sweetness of the plantains, the fatty flavor of the oil, and the aroma of the garlic blends together so harmoniously that whatever these guys are doing, I don't want them to change a single thing. Coupled with the fact that they also make an incredibly tender and perfectly seasoned pernil and you know I'm gonna be coming back to them many more times in the future. So don't delay any further. Give them a call for delivery, or better yet drive yourself over so you can get the food faster (there's a parking lot to the side and back of the building). 2nd time ordering delivery.... Ordered a pernil sandwich and a papaya milkshake... The delivery guy was the same as last time and pretty good guy... both times, was respectful and nice. Social, etc... The papaya shake... dude its freaking sour? Does not taste much like papaya... and I'm just wondering what kind of milk they used because it's sour... I don't know if that's normal or its expired milk... not drinking it... The pernil sandwich.. holy cow it was amazing...
