I gave my son the option of 3 places. Cheesecake Factory, Fridays or The new Empanada spot because he loves empanadas. He chose to go to Courts Empanadas so I obliged. We arrived optimistic and I noticed the table wasn't outside nor was there chairs inside to sit so after being greeted I mentioned we came to dine in. The decor was beautiful. The owner stated she thought it was going to rain so she didn't set up the outside table. Since I mentioned we wanted to stay she put up the chair and umbrella which was really appreciated because I travel a lot and my outings with my son for our last days I tend to sit and enjoy conversation. We ordered buffalo chicken , oxtail, jerk chicken and chicken and cheese empanadas. We were really excited to try them because of the 5 star reviews on TikTok and raving comments. We were told give them 10 mins to make the empanadas and she will bring them out to the table. The register area was packed with orders so I took it as we would enjoy the food. We sat and waited and they were brought out in 4 white bags wrapped in napkins,with their names on them. Upon unraveling them you can tell they are filled because they were heavy. The chicken and cheese was good but could be better if the chicken was cut up smaller and seasoned. It was long strings of chicken. Then the buffalo chicken was good that was our fave because it tasted close to what it's supposed to be "BUFFALO CHICKEN". However the jerk chicken was so over powered by the jerk sauce and extremely spicy to the point you can not enjoy it. The oxtail said it had butter beans in it but it was very disappointing as well. It tasted noting like oxtail and as a Jamaican it didn't look like oxtail either. It looked like shredded beef to be honest. They are all stuffed with a lot of meat. The only one that was finished was the buffalo chicken. I even tried the sauces they provided I had the Chipotle sauce on all of them and it didn't make them any better. The strawberry lemonades didn't taste like strawberry or lemonade. Unfortunately we won't be back, I don't see this place lasting long. read more

Ive been dying to try these empanada since they popped up in my feed. The place is small and have very friendly staff and you are treated to free samples when you walk in. I bought a shrimp And Cheese and the oxtail. Not only were they amazing but they are filled up entirely. I haven't tried the oxtail yet cause the first one filled me up. I stopped in this restaurant to get lunch and when I arrived I parked on the street nearby. I walked into a busy place. I was greeted and ordered: Strawberry Lemonade Spinach and Artichoke Honey Jerk Chicken Shrimp and Cheese Chicken and Cheese Oxtail It took about 10 minutes. OMG This is seriously my favorite new joint. I'm not even going front. I'm not a empanada person. I mean I like them - but I'm not into them..... But COURTNEY !!! and her empanadas are LEGEND. This woman put OXTAILS, JERK CHICKEN, SALMON, VEGGIES, amongst others into these giant warm pastries. I have been hearing a lot about Courts and had not had the chance to get there until today. It's on a main fairly busy street and parking is trying. I parked around the corner. The atmosphere and decor is very appealing. The artwork seems to be customized to fit the theme of the restaurant. Staff was pleasant enough. I had a bit of a wait as they seem to cook to order. This is more of a takeout spot, yet there are spaces where to sit albeit small. The jerk empanadas I tore into soon as I got in the car. I was hungry and couldn't wait! I drizzled some of the sauce on it and it was yummy. The salmon empanada I had a bit later and I should have eaten it sooner. It was good, just lukewarm by the time I got to it (about an hr later). The apple empanada was intriguing to me as I love apple pie, so wanted to try. It was good yet made me want some nutmeg and vanilla ice cream along with it. lol All in all, I enjoyed Court's and would probably be back to try other flavors. read more

Parked around the corner. Came in and waited a few min in line. I ordered 2 honey jerk and 2 beef and cheese empanadas. They were good. I wish the beef was mixed in with the cheese. Overall a good filling empanada! When I went the line was out of the door thanks to TikTok..I showed up about 3PM on a Saturday and a few flavors were sold out. I got the oxtail empanada which was nice juicy and the honey jerk chicken empanada which had a nice spice, but the oxtail was my fav of the 2. A little oily, but you can tell they were fresh. Decor inside was nice, paintings on the wall (empanada theme) and it was very clean. Overall would go again if there isn't a line out of the door. read more

Courts empanadas serves absolutely delicious empanadas with the amazing flavors of the Caribbean. I have rarely had such unique, exciting, comforting, and filling food as the idea of Caribbean flavored empanadas. These delightfully crispy, filled to the brim, flavor bombs of goodness are a must have if you're in the area. I had the spinach and artichoke empanada as well as the honey jerk chicken empanada and they were both delectable. Word of caution, if you are not familiar with jerk chicken, it does pack a punch. I am excited to try other flavors as well and you should too. Yes, the price is high for empanadas, however, they are worth it! It is a take out place and not a restaurant but it is still very beautifully decorated and the people behind the counter are super helpful and friendly. While I didn't get a chance to see the actual establishment since I ordered through Uber Eats, I'm not sure that would have changed my judgment much. I ordered the oxtail empanada and the honey jerk empanada with a strawberry lemonade. My sister ordered the honey jerk empanada as well, along with the garlic shrimp empanada and a strawberry mint lemonade. First, the drinks were absolutely delicious. My strawberry lemonade was refreshing, and my sister enjoyed hers as well, although she mentioned she didn't really taste the mint. The empanadas were definitely stuffed, so I can say they were worth the price in terms of portion. My sister enjoyed her garlic shrimp empanada. However, we both agreed that the honey jerk empanada was very disappointing. It wasn't flavorful or what we expected from jerk seasoning--it was simply very spicy. The kind of spicy that becomes uncomfortable and hard to finish. My mouth was so hot that I couldn't really enjoy it. I then tried my oxtail empanada, and while it was better than the honey jerk, it didn't really taste like authentic oxtail to me. If I were to try them again, I would probably order different flavors and would like to stop by the restaurant in person to get the full experience. I don't plan to visit again anytime soon, but it's not completely off my list yet. I do believe in second chances. read more

I waited 47 minutes for my food, was told to wait an extra five minutes all to find out it was never coming. I was excited to try this place, and after ordering I was told about a 15min wait. I had to move my car so when I came back in after about 15 minutes I asked about my order. I was told by the cashier with dark spot under her chin it would be another five minutes. Ten minutes had passed and still nothing so I asked again, she then went to the back and came and told me it's coming out. But after two people who ordered after me received their food, I told them that by now I had been waiting over 47 minutes. Another women looked at my order and a guy with locks said he had given my order away a while ago. So what did the cashier go to the back for? They had to refund me my money, but I can't get that time back. I had to go back to work hungry without even time to rush and pick anything up.
