As a fellow Dominican I am very judgmental when it comes to Dominican restaurants and the way their food is cooked, but have to say the food here was pretty good. I had the stew goat, white rice and red beans with a papaya milkshake and 4 leche cake. The food was really welled seasoned and cooked perfectly. Even the rice was good, which is usually too soft, or grainy at other restaurants. The milkshake was really good. Would go back just for that honestly. I was super disappointed with my experience at the Boca Chica Restaurant. I love supporting local businesses within the community however I did not have the best experience at this place. They did not speak when I walked into the restaurant, no hello, how are you, nothing. I ordered pernil, rice and beans and oxtails rice and beans. She only gave 3 oxtails and filled my plate with rice, long with one spoonful of beans. THREE OXTAILS! On top of the food being cold, their attitudes were as well. When I got home, I can taste that the pernil was not well seasoned and tough. Will I be supporting this establishment again? Absolutely not. On top of me asking for a few more oxtails, I was told that I would have to pay 8 dollars! There are so many of these restaurants around town, you can find better quality food and service! My favorite neighborhood restaurant. Average personal combos are $6 a plate while family style range from $15-$20, there is no better place to get quality and quantity home style food. Brush up on your Spanish because it will make ordering easier lol the women are all friendly and helpful. There are staples dishes such as pollo guisado "chicken stew", grilled chicken, beans, rice. The menu adds variety of dishes, just check their daily specials and full menu. For dessert, I ordered the tres leches and I did not like it at all, it wasn't homemade and was lacking the creamy and sweet leche taste...it was decent. My new favorite authentic Dominican restaurant. I use to have to travel a few towns away to find a good Dominican restaurant and alas one in town. Parking can be a huge hassle. If you live in town I recommend walking. On a few occasions I've come for the "tres golpes" after 9:30am and they've had none. Reason being is because this dish is made fresh and should be eaten right away. This is a Dominican breakfast consisting of a fried egg, mash plantains, fried sausage and fried cheese. The combo meals are also highly filling and at a decent pricing. For instance we've had the combo #1 fried meat with yellow rice, fries and 2 liter soda for $14. The inside is not huge. They have about four tables with two chairs for each table. On each occasion there the employees are so sweet. read more

Very tasty Dominican cuisine. open from 6 am - 11 pm (later than most places in Harrison) they serve breakfast (ask for Tres Golpes) in the morning. The roasted chicken, ribs, and seasoned rice are amazing! They make good fresh fruit shakes to order. There are several tables, there is a pretty large menu, some of the food is in warmers you can point at what you want if that makes it easier. The place is quite clean, there is a TV. I was looking for a new Latino restaurant close to home since my favorite spot in Bayonne is closed. This place had good Yelp reviews so we decided to try it. It's good sized and they had a good selection of prepared food already. My Spanish is kinda choppy but I was able to get my order across and pointing worked also. LOL. They do speak English. The food was delicious. It was authentic (like when you visit your Dominican abuela's house). I ordered stew chicken, rice and peas, and sweet plantains. The chicken was perfect. Seasoned nicely while falling of the bones. They didn't have stew beef but I can't wait until they do. They had a few pork dishes and roasted chicken. I live in newark ironbound area and there is NO Dominican spot around so i took my chances to see if they deliver to my area and Yes they did. Not only was i happy but the Food was Amazing i have been craving Pollo guisado (chicken stew) with Rice and beans and some fried plantains and it was so good. The amount of food was a-lot for me due to the fact that i have weight-loss surgery, but the portion is good enough to make one person full. This place really surprise us. The service were awesome. The lady called Nayeli, she treated you as a king, she advice you with all recommendations(first time we were there) explaining to you about Dominican food in the menu what to choose according to the number of people, prices, and full of attention to you. We choose for a plate that it comes with three different tips of meat called "picada" if I am not wrong. But in our table our friends choose for different plates that were good looking and awesome taste according to their comments. Price were really accesible, there were Dominican drinks also. Excellent Dominican restaurant in Harrison. Their mofongos are very tasty. I had the one with pork and it is delicious and very filling.
