This food truck visited my job a few weeks ago. I got a chicken sandwich, the chickano, with a side of rice and black beans (I love black beans). I thought it was pretty good. It was actually VERY filling, so much so, I skipped dinner that night. The prices were reasonable, and they accept credit cards. A lot of my coworkers enjoyed the food, this was evident because rumor has it the truck actually sold out of bread and had to leave early.

Came to Pier 13 and wanted to grab a bite to eat that was different than the other options and let me tell you... WOW! I ordered the platter which came with white rice, black beans (deliciously seasoned), lechon, and tostones. I felt like I was right at home. My meal reminded me of family dinners, and I felt the care and transfer for love with each bite. I also ordered the cuban sandwich which was also delicious! I cannot rave about this place enough, and I hope to have a bowl of love again very soon!!!

This is a food truck that a few of my friends have raved about. So when I finally had a chance, I took it. I ordered their Chickano sandwich. I thought it was pretty tasty. The chicken was nice and tender and I love the perfectly toasted bread. The sandwich was generally well-portioned for the amount of money it cost too, though it was very flat. I look forward to getting from them again.

The best cubano this side of Miami. If you see them at an event near you definitely try them. Great service and friendly staff too. Highly recommend them!

Thought it was tasty for the first time i went there. Flavorful and marinated cubano sandwich with nice flavoring but it will leave you somewhat hungry and for $8....you can get something of more value. You should try it out and see. Oh and get their special hot sauce.

Definitely a good way to try everything. + Poquito de Todo - The sampler of entrees here! Literally, a little bit of everything - roasted pork, shredded beef, steamed cassava with mojo, sliced avocado, one fried egg & fried sweet plantains - and it was alllll delicious. + Lechon Asado - The lechon was excellent! Some dry pieces here and there, but most of it was juicy and had oil slathered on it. There was a large piece of delicious, crispy skin on top and it came with 1 side. + Sandwich Cubano and Fries - Solid Cuban sammie. Bread was extra crispy and the sammie was well put together. THE SERVICE ------------------- + PHENOMENAL service! ++++ All of the busboys were on the tee with their timing of clearing plates. ++++ Our waiter was friendly, courteous and very professional. THE SURROUNDINGS ------------------------------- + Big restaurant with plenty of tables and seats. + Simply, but nicely decorated inside. + Private parking lot outside and it's valet, however, if you arrive at opening, you can park in the lot before the valet arrives. There are street parking spots available too. + Restaurant is located right off of NJ-21. RANDOM OBSERVATIONS -------------------------------------- = Arrived right at opening on a rainy, summer Saturday morning at 11:30 AM and, of course, we were the first customers inside. We stayed till about 1 PM and there were about only 6-7 tables occupied during our time there, however pretty sure evenings are a wholeeee different story (and much livelier).

My husband ordered a chicken empanada and it was filled with chicken and rice and not fully fried. When I asked the server to fry it some more, she brought a new one out that was a bit more fried but just as pale as the first one. The inside was not tasty at all and it was definitely not colombian. Then there was the stale Colombian beef empanadas. These were probably the worst of all. We also ordered a bread that we asked if it was filled with cheese, the server said yes....and it had ham and cheese, so my son did not eat it. This could've just been a miscommunication, but most places tend to clarify when it is not just cheese, but also includes something else with it. The menu is very small, so I decided to order a burger which was made with pulled beef and was actually delicious. They also have Colombian style scrambled eggs and coffee which my husband liked. If it's just based on food I would say it was 50/50 your chances of getting something tasty, but because the service was not attentive or friendly (we were the only people in the cafe for awhile), it is not a place I would return to. Maybe it was just an off day?

The service is on point and Rebecca, the barista is so skilled! I saw her making a ton of orders for customers coming in and she's a pro! I love the ambiance and the decor. I did a little work and if I lived in the area, this would be my go to place to bring my laptop. I can't wait to go back and try other things on the menu. The footlong Philly cheese steak was very good and you can share that with two people because it's big! Unless you're super hungry! The owner let me record him making an espresso and that was really cool! I highly recommend you try this coffee shop.
