That being said, the complaints from the 1 star reviews are pretty spot on also, especially about the hours being not quite what they list on the website, which can be frustrating since 6:30pm or so is a bit of an early cutoff time even for Queens. Like with a lot of other things these days, their business model is to nickel and dime you with periodic rate increases and forcing you to buy a $5 lock of their own that they charge you like $20 for. All in all, you pay for what you get.

Staffers are few but fantastic, always ready to pitch in when they can and some of these fellows are big dudes and I think what a help they must be to the older customers. The street the facility is located on a tiny and tight street (112th & Jamaica Ave) with potholes and cars, always tightly parked on both sides, a large auto mechanic shop and another something or another that requires eighteen wheelers to squeeze through, so you can imagine the allotted parking spaces within Cube Smart can be tricky to get a hold of. So far though, no problems there and the hand push carat are smooth rollers and can manipulate just about every sharp angles turn with a kick or a tug. To de-stress as I pick up or put away, I walk the white cubed halls envisioning fighting off Storm Troopers with Luke, Han and Chewy to meet Artoo Detoo in the control room to rescue the princess from the depths of the Death Star. Then I depart into the jungle of a world that is here and wish I was upon the Death Star, as it sounds much more of a relaxing experience. I open the sliding aluminum door and pick up or put down again and sometimes I'll spend a bit of time going through my rock and roll memorabilia, pluck a few things to have Ebayed or to display on the shelves of my bookcases which makes my happy. So I called the 929 number listed above again Spoke to a different person, The second person I spoke to Stated " They're probably walking or helping somebody into their new unit, And asked if I could give 5-10 Minutes" I gave 11 Person still not there. So I called the 929 number a 3rd time This time I expressed my frustration again and the lady on the phone Stated " There is one person for multiple facilities nearby. There was an emergency at another facility." It sounded like she was gonna ask me to just wait and be patient, but I cut her off and stated " That's not my problem, I want my money back. I have to return the van by 10 AM it's 926 " She said that she will put a request in for the cancellation While driving back home to drop off everything that was supposed to go into the storage unit A gentleman from this location called me and gave me a different excuse, He stated "Hi John, you requested a cancellation" I said yes he then stated "why" and I expressed my frustration again. Then he stated "Well, you need to understand sir. There is more than 100 units and I have to check every single one of them so you need to understand that" giving me an attitude. I said "then there should be two people working in that office not one, and that is not my problem that you have to go check everything". He then stated " Well what do you want me to do?" They kept the doors open for my transfer from one unit to another and opened the gate each and every time I needed it. The place is clean and easy to get to. They all you a few days before payment is due so you don't pay fees either. Price is a bit high but I think storage is expensive. I think is is a cool spot if you need a place to drop off some stuff. It's like having an extra closet.

This was my first time hiring movers and J & G Moving exceeded my expectations! The move went so…read moresmoothly that I highly recommend them. I price-compared a ton of NYC moving companies and J & G gave me a competitive moving quote. Additionally, the building I was moving into required a certificate of insurance (COI) and J & G was able to offer it for me for free. A lot of other companies charge for this. Before moving, I communicated with them via email and they always responded promptly and were very clear about what their moving package included. The day of the move, they called and asked if it was okay if they came an hour early. They were very communicative with me during the whole move. The lead guy (forgot his name!) assessed how many things I had and then discussed with the other 2 men on how to efficiently approach the move. The 3 men were over 6' tall and strong, and they were able to finish my whole move in a little more than 1 hr! I did not have anything that was easily breakable but the men treated my things with care. They provided blanket and shrink wrapping for all of my furniture. Everything was loaded up into their truck very quickly. These guys wasted no time. When I arrived at my new apartment building, they had already started unloading my things. I had my boxes labeled with what was inside (i.e., kitchen supplies, shoes, jackets) and they actually placed each box in the corresponding room. Best of all, there were no hidden fees. They ended up not charging me a processing fee that was included in the quote and gave me $40 off my quoted price. The movers were so friendly, communicative and professional, I will definitely be using J & G Moving again! I also wanted to note that on the day of my move, the street I was moving from was blocked due to construction. J & G movers did not complain or make any mention of that until I had stepped outside of my apartment building and noticed it. tl;dr Dispatch was great, crew was horrible…read more I want to be fair. Dispatch was professional, helpful, and the price was reasonable, especially for short notice. I wasn't pushed to give more of a tip, although I did tip more than recommended. I was initially really satisfied, but have since discovered they deliberately damaged a 6-level stacked metal card cabinet. When I included it in the inventory, I wasn't aware there were still items in the drawers. Our move was extremely chaotic, and the moving service that we used prior, checked all drawers to make sure they were empty, before moving items. People make mistakes, especially in stressful circumstances. Nonetheless, I accept that the responsibility of checking was still ultimately mine. However, if I had been made aware there were still items inside, I would have apologized, and either offered to pay more, or moved the drawers myself. After arriving at the new location, my son heard clinking sounds, as one of the movers walked past him smirking, while shaking and swinging the drawers, one in each hand. He then threw the drawers on their sides, onto one of my metal bookcases, which was apparently repeated for all 6 stacks. Between the throwing and shaking, the outer surfaces of the drawers and top of the bookcase were scratched and scuffed. The individual drawers were so badly dented that I had trouble putting several back in once removed, to retrieve the items that had been flung into the very back, past the drawers. They could have refused to take the cabinet, like they did with several boxes I had pointed out at the beginning of the move as needing to be prioritized. I had to beg and offer them more money to get those boxes onto the truck, because they said they'd already taken enough items. It wasn't until they called dispatch that they were told I had preemptively paid more the day before, because I didn't want to risk undercounting the boxes and other items. Dispatch said I didn't owe anything more, and told them to take the boxes. I was trying to understand why this crew didn't simply decline to move the cabinet, like with the boxes. They would have been well within their rights, because it violated their company's policy. Given the smirking and throwing, the only conclusion I can make is that this crew found messing with customers and damaging their items, fun.

Upon full inspection we found that the mice tore open our sectional sofa along most of the edges and the lining. There was also an insane amount of dropping on top of the sofa pieces. In addition to our sofa, our Queen size Tempur-Pedic mattress, several pairs of shoes, and other various items were soiled (urine and/or droppings), ripped and contained deep tears. As we got deeper into the unit and removed a piece for inspection we smelled the odor of the urine even stronger. We set traps twice (provided by the office) and caught a total of 10 mice within 2 weeks time. Each time we were told there was an exterminator coming who could only enter vacant units. This indicated that this was an ongoing issue- which we were never notified about. 3 weeks After filing a claim we've just received an email advising they can only offer us $500 !!!! Our couch alone was over $1,000. This is beyond insulting. We are beyond distraught to have paid for *A LOT* of money in rent for a unit in an unkept facility which could not securely protect our valuables-WHICH IS PRETTY MUCH THE WHOLE POINT OF PAYING FOR A UNIT IN AN INDOOR-SECURED STORAGE FACILITY.
