DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY. Pretty sure they are faking most of their positive reviews (on Google) -- lots of reviews that don't have any other activity, accounts that seem to have other activity but when you click on their history seem clearly paid since they only have positive reviews for multiple Safeguard locations, content is too similar, etc. It seems like maybe there used to be good staff, but I guess they've all left. Woman at the front desk is one of the rudest people I've ever met. She's pretends to be nice until you sign that contract. We've been responsible, reliable, respectful customers for a few months now -- paying thousands of dollars. And we've never expected much -- but now it just feels like we paying to endure her drama. She is usually sitting at the front desk looking miserable or on her phone ignoring you, and if you dare to try and speak to her, she will act like you're the stupidest person alive. In the last few days, things have gotten even more absurd. She seems to be having some type of meltdown, as she screamed at me the other day, and again today, completely unprovoked. This isn't even including all the other issues we've had over the pass few months: they're supposed to open at 9am (Mon-Sat), multiple times I've shown up and had to wait over an hour for her while she lazily strolls in whenever she feels like without apology or hurry, usually 10am or later. Spills on the floor are a frequent tripping hazard. I've seen rats and other pests. They don't always seem to keep it climate controlled. It looks like there is mold issue inside as well. We've already tried to raise concerns with management, they didn't seem motivated to do much of anything. After talking to other customers (and finding the real reviews, not the fakes they've posted), it seems these have been ongoing issues for a long time, and they have NO INTENTION OF IMPROVING. We will be closing our account with this business within the next few days. TL;DR Don't go. Save your money, and your precious time and energy. Their competitors are right across the street and seem lovely. read more

I had an excellent experience at Safeguard Self Storage. It was a seemless transition from setting up my appointment online to coming in and being set up with my unit. The Assistant Manager, Joesph Wyatt was professional and efficient with his service. It was a breath of fresh air working with him and receiving such fantastic customer service. I suggest going on their website www.safeguardit.com before hand as it makes the process a lot faster. In addition to the personnel there, they have a full state of the art cool/heat control facility. The place felt well kept and incredibly secure. Had the worst experience at this location today 8/10/18 After attempting 3 different times to upgrade my unit I called on the phone and spoke to a guy I told him I would be there in 20 minutes. Sorry I got there in 30 minutes when I arrived the guy had the nerve to tell me the CUSTOMER that I didn't arrive on time. These people are awesome. They have taken good care and protected my belongings for almost two years now. The location is great and the staff, especially Eric are the best. They have confusing rules. The storage part closes 15m before whatever time it actually is supposed to close. This is an unwritten rule. The hours are short to begin with. So they are not really serving the needs of their customers. They open at 9 and close at 7. So forget trying to go before work and good luck trying to make it after. I moved my stuff in on Friday January 27. I was already having a bad day. When I reserved my space over the phone I was told all I had to do was pick up my lock. Nothing was said about signing a lease or other paperwork. That is the fault of the main office in Atlanta. However the woman I originally spoke with was extremely nice and patient. I was very much on a time crunch because of my rental car. Joshua helped me in the office (Brooklyn location). He was understanding and VERY patient with me. I felt bad because I was in a hurry. I can't say enough good things about this place. I've used Safeguard Self Storage on a number of occasions to rent their storage facility when my family needed extra space. Was more than helpful answering all my questions both in-person and over the phone, giving me great recommendations on what size unit would best suite my needs and overall just made everything easy . I have had my storage unit for over a year and, I never had any issues. Very clean and safe storage location. Even when I tried to look for a lower monthly payment Kendra was able to help me even when I eventually did find some storage place at home. I eventually closed my account but she was of great help during that time. I would come back again if I had to place anything in storage again. read more

This is an INCREDIBLY shady business. Their excuse for all their unethical business practices is "It's in your lease contract." Yes, the good old fine print excuse. We have been unhappy with this business for quite some time. We became customers because of an affordable rate for storage. After we spent so much energy moving things in, our rent was increased after 6 months, and then steadily and periodically following that. We had not complained because we were told this was "in our lease contract." The icing on the cake is when our automatic payment didn't go through this month. Instead of giving us a courtesy call or an email, we were instantly penalized with a 20% penalty fee, which when we inquire about, were were told again it's in our "lease contract" in fine print. The district manager, Craig, with whom I had spoken on the phone, was quite rude and aggressive, and interrupted me with "can I please finish" every time I tried to tell him it's unfair. (This is quite ironic when he is the one who interrupts and speaks over me mid-sentence.) I asked for his full name and he refused to give it, saying he does not give out his full name. As a district manager, you would think he's professional enough to identify himself. Exasperated, I called again and asked to speak to anyone else but Craig. The lady on the other line agreed, but instead, Craig insisted on taking my call again, smugly saying all company calls are directed to him. I find this quite incredible in a company that has so many locations throughout the state. In our second phone call, he had calmed down quite a bit and now offered to "split the waiver" with me. At this point, I feel so disgusted with their company practice and their tone with customers that I have decided to move all my things out no matter what, to which Craig again smugly replied "that's fine with us." I see they are not an accredited BBB company. Please know they are taking advantage of their customers. Just because things are finely stated in a lease contract does not make it ethical. read more

The facility is great, and the manager Kendra is amazing. She was super helpful in finding me the right storage space for my needs. I needed a bigger space than I had originally reserved, and within minutes, she upgraded my storage. I would highly recommend Safeguard. I signed up with safeguard storage over a year ago at 1648 East New York Ave. after leaving a storage faculty that had so many issues especially when it came to customer service. I must admit the staff has been wonderful here at safeguard. I had no issues. They assisted me when ever I needed assistance. Kendra has gone above and beyond. She young lady who opened my account, closed me out, she was truly a gem, especially when I constantly traveling, she was there to give me good advice and direction on my storage needs and fees. Her follow up skills were excellent I received monthly reminders that my bill was due. She is the epitome or customer service. For any future storage needs I will be reaching out to this location. A location that I know I can trust for cleanseness, security and exceptional customer service.
