I rented a unit at the East Boston, MA location by far, this was the best experience I have had with a storage company Charles was at the front desk, and made the transaction smooth as silk He showed me the unit, which was very clean I asked about household insects , hours and use of the truck. He was very informative and I could tell he was happy to be at his job. I must say, if I had a business of my own, I would want Charles at the helm! read more

Forbes said large units were @ $300. NOT TRUE. Mine started at$580 and increased to $650/mo. No notice. I want to leave early because I found a place that charge LESS THAN 1/2 what CubeSmart charges. They will not pay you back for days you don't use. Also, while I was stuck in my $650 unit they advertised specials for same thing @ $400. This place is a MAJOR ripoff. I rented a storage unit from cube smart, and was told by the CubeSmart employee, after I moved all of my things in, that the whole first floor of units (including mine) is infested with rats, and that I should "watch my stuff." The cubesmart employee told me that this is a known issue by management, they do not typically rent those units because of the rats, and the only reason we had a unit on the first level was because we booked it online. The rat infestation was made known to me the day before I moved out of the state, so I had to urgently move my cube contents to a different unit at a different location, which cost me $1100. I have called cubesmart 6 times to inquire about a refund and was told all 6 times that someone from management would call me, which they never did. Not only did I spend $1100 to move my cube, but I paid several weeks worth of rental cost for the unit that was infested with rats. After finally reaching an upper level cubesmart employee today and threatening legal action, I was told that cubesmart could offer me $50. I would advise anyone considering a cubesmart rental to avoid this business at all costs. read more

We had to move our whole apartment into storage while we were waiting to close on / move into a new home (which got delayed for 2 months) - so during a very stressful time, we didn't need more stress with storage. The staff here was always incredibly helpful and friendly, and remembered us when we came into to add more to our unit. read more

This storage unit is terrible! Ppl storing garage in the units. My unit was infested with rodents and flies ! Items ruined by mouse poop and pee. When we contacted the company to complain they told us that 'the damage was not covered under our insurance'. The company knew where the rodents and insects were coming from yet they did not send any communication to their customers and continue to do nothing about ppl storing trash in the units! I didn't know anything about this place. I was headed for U-Haul directly across the street, but my friend kept insisting on Patriot. We went in, and I was pleasantly surprised. Incredibly friendly staff, no waiting, no rude angry customers (unlike across the street). I got personalized service, a great storage unit, and getting the "free" use of the truck wasn't an issue. Even got one month free. Bought boxes and everything at a good price. I'm telling ya, I always get my boxes and stuff from UHaul. I've traded in bad service, long lines, and bad service for just the opposite. Give 'em a try! read more

Great phone customer service. Great personal customer service. The options are well explained, thus makes "shopping" for your ideal space easy. My fave thing is the music that plays in the storage space area... it's groovy, it's pleasant, it makes you feel less tired and not alone if you're there doing your storing. Also, when I was there helping my friend get her space, a customer was there who has had his space for a good while, and was happy. He's had storage spaces at other places and thinks this one is the best. Then!.... when I was leaving, I saw my friend Anne, who owns a business and stores her equipment there. Extremely rude staff!! I was conducting a move with a family member across the country and the manager Tara was so rude to us. She was rude on each phone call and even at one point had the audacity to tell us she did not believe who we said we were and hung up on us. It was not your typical move as it was with an elderly woman and a family member across the country but there was no understanding of those circumstances even though it was communicated 4+ times. Completely do NOT recommend using this place. I also advise that the company train their managers to be courteous and helpful rather than the experience I had. Such a BAD experience. read more

RAT DROPPINGS, MILDEW, and MOLD Incredibly disappointed with my storage here. I stored my belongings over the summer, and came back to find everything infested with rodent droppings, mildew, and water damage. I was even paying for insurance every month. I had to throw so many of my belongings out -- ruined clothes, shoes, and winter gear. In addition to that, everything smelled damp and of cigarettes. I had to pay so much in laundry and dry cleaning to get my clothes (the ones that were salvageable) and my bedding clean. This was really, really devastating as a college student, especially because the staff made everything seem so secure and clean with all the information about the "climate-controlled unit," etc. I have called the office several times about my concerns since I moved out of my unit a month ago, and I still haven't received any reply/acknowledgment of the damages. I would hope that CubeSmart will reach out to me with the expediency and respect that I believe this deserves. read more

They worked with me and let us use their moving truck to move in, our items were safe and when we moved out, they took care of everything and even emailed the final receipts! My storage unit was broken into 6 months ago. Almost all of my stuff was taken. I knew something was off when the door to the building was unlocked. Manager claimed I was the first unit to ever have been broken into. Cop arrives and says they'd been called there before. Manager was nice at first, but after a couple weeks, had no follow up. Basically didn't care to watch all the surveillance tape or anything. A few weeks later, manager tells me that someone else was broken into and was missing a collection of guitars. It's a horrible thing to not only over pay for substandard service, but to be dealt with by staff with such hostility and ignorance jus adds to it. A few weeks ago, while working in my storage two police officers approached me, hands on guns and asked if I noticed a lady trying to break into units. Odd and startling question. I responded "no" and stated "if I had I would have reported so immediately. The officers moved on. I went to this office to ask what was going on. The office staff person which was the only one present refused me, a customer what was going on or if I should be concerned. I noticed several police cars in the parking lot as both a white lady and man were handcuffed what was going on. The officer informed me that the couple who had entry into the parking lot and building had stolen a car, drove into the gated parking lot which requires a code, ran into the storage areas and were found hiding. The other day, that same employee who refused to tell me what was going on was directing a new occupant to his unit and told the man that a few months into the opening of this CubeSmart gunshots were fired into the second and third floor windows. If I were able, I'd move from this facility. No one should have to deal with the problems here. Bathrooms are not stocked with toilet tissue, there smell of urine and feces. I encourage the public to seek services elsewhere. read more

I would not rent a basement storage unit here- no matter how cheap it is! We cannot speak for the quality of the units on the first and second floor, however, we rented a space in the basement and it was awful. The unit had mice and was so damp that it ruined fabric. After less than a year of storage, our couch was all stained yellow and had water lines from the dampness. There were mouse droppings across the unit leading into a carpet we had rolled up. Any sort of fabric such as blankets or clothes that we had boxed up smelled incredibly musty when we unpacked them. A few pieces of wood furniture even had some type of mold growing it. Aside from the condition of the unit, when we went there to remove belongings there would be people hanging out in their units (sometimes smoking pot) who seemed to be living out of their units. We would NEVER go to the unit at night or alone due to concerns about this. All these terrible things aside, I do agree that the staff working there are incredibly nice and patient. Maybe the circumstances are different on the upper floors, but I would say away from renting a unit in the basement. read more

Elevator doesn't work and it seems the homeless live there. Not happy and i just got the unit Saturday. Still riding around with 30 boxes in my truck, waiting for the the elevator to be fixed. Smh. read more
