That may have been the last time I had one of their burgers. Over the years, I heard grim things about their quality, but went into the store to try the inexpensive tacos a few years back on the advice of uncle. They were good, for what they were, and I was impressed with the attractiveness of the interior of this particular outlet. But, not really my thing. Well, I had forty-five minutes to kill before a haircut the other day and I spotted this restaurant and thought, "Why not? Let's try them out." Pulled in and entered to find an absolutely spotless, cozy store (they have a _fireplace_ for heaven's sake!) with a friendly counterman and some pretty remarkably priced specials. Got a $5.99 Double Jack combo (drink, double deluxe cheeseburger and fries) along with a 2-for-$3 Monster Angry Taco order. Made to order and came out quick - delivered to the table by the nice counter guy. And - the burger was really good! Better than anything I've had at McDonald's in years, and a whole lot less expensive, too. Fresh bun, lots of good condiments, hot, tasty - the fries were good, the drink machine (one of those change-it-to-whatever-soda-you-want monsters) worked fine. The room was clean (I sat at a sunny table by the fireplace on a cold winter day), there were plenty of condiments available. I don't know what the meat was in those tacos, but they were big, crunchy and tasty. Hey, I'll be back. I don't like this sort of food often, but sometimes you want it. The next time I think about running to Mickey D's, I'm going to try to remember to come here instead: every single thing about the experience (friendliness, cleanliness, coziness, food quality, food value, price) just beat the pants of my local McDonald's.

It is pretty cool to have this restaurant in Albuquerque, New Mexico. After realizing that this Jack-in-the-Box fast food restaurant was near my hotel, about a half mile walk one way, I proceeded to put in a mobile order for that night. It was a chill evening, weather notwithstanding, I thought that having this Jack in the Box restaurant so close to the hotel was nice and very convenient. Even though I had to walk half a mile for dinner, it was good enough to I didn't have to take an Uber. With that said, I arrived here after waiting 10 minutes after the order has been processed through the mobile app. The restaurant was fairly empty, except with couple tables being occupied. I walked over to the front counter and announced that I was here for the order and they told me to wait a little bit. The overall time spent waiting for my meal was about five minutes, which wasn't terribly bad at all. I could have sat in the restaurant and ate my dinner, but I just wanted to enjoy it back at my hotel room. The service here was typical and Well received. It was in friendly, but at the same time it wasn't over the rule either. I guess people act a certain way to wear is just not friendly, but not blah either. I can understand where you just don't wanna be there and it shows in service performance. It is what it is, but that was happening that night while I was there it was typical yet eventful for sure. The overall Experience here at this particular Jack-in-the-Box fast food restaurant in Albuquerque was mediocre at best and typically okay, but at the same time, good for me because it was walking distance from my hotel. The restaurant was quite clean and the decor was as simple and pleasant as any other Jack in the Box restaurants around the country. I did enjoy the ambience since it was quiet enough while I was there waiting for my mobile order to be completed. There was a couple of people that were adamant about their food orders being delayed but what can you do really. I like Jack In the Box because it's a great alternative to the usual McDonalds and Burger King's of the fast food chain industry. Although they are limited in terms of locations, you just need to know where they are when you are somewhere. On this experience here at Albuquerque Jack in the Box I basically ordered on the app which included couple of jumbo jacks sandwiches, two tacos, large, curly fries, and some jalapeño poppers. I also got a good large iced tea for for the drink. Prices here is a little bit more expensive than most fast food restaurants, but they are good quality food that measure up to good standards of taste and awesomeness. It helps to download the app and order at your convenience. So, when you get to the restaurant, the order should be ready when you arrive, which is what I did during my stay in Albuquerque. Jack in the Box has a loyalty program too, called "The Jack Pack". Every dollar you spend on food orders gets accumulated on the app and you can redeem them for various food items under Rewards. It's pretty cool actually. This particular Jack in the Box restaurant is located at 2721 Carlisle Blvd NE in beautiful Albuquerque, New Mexico. They accept major credit cards in the restaurant as well as cash. Only credit cards for mobile app purchases. As far as parking goes, this Jack in the box location has a good amount of parking here. You probably could park at the edge of Walmart as well. As long as you're quick about your Jack in the Box visit, you might be okay. As for me though, I was staying nearby, so it was a half mile walk to and from this place. However, if you need Uber and or Lyft to take you here, best bet would be to order ahead thru the mobile app and call the uber afterwards. They should have your order hot and ready to go. And so, if you want an alternative to the McDonalds and Burger King and maybe Chipotle, consider coming to Jack In the Box if you're in the Albuquerque area. 4.5 stars for the overall experience. The locale is entirely alien: just another storefront in the midst of another boring strip mall, walking in the door delivers something akin to a modern-day Rocky training complex, the kind of arena where Adrian isn't just sitting in the corner cheering her honey on, she's laced up in the ring, sparring and whipping the bastards to pieces. Combat sports have entered a new era, folks. The ladies are seriously into this competition, and we're not boxing, we're throwing elbows and push-kicks and choke holds. ABQ Kickboxing provides all the ammunition necessary to be a Bad Ass. A truly local resource, the facility and staff are the small dog in the franchise fight; they simply don't have the monetary resources to supply the shine and sheen of the box gyms. Here, the walls are plastered with sponsors who support 'em, much of the equipment is well worn or in need of repair, there aren't any fancy machines, just a few dumbbells and kettlebells and medicine balls, it's a hodgepodge and the instructors do what they can to utilize 'em into the workouts. Workouts run 45 minutes, a big plus in my book, just about perfect for the overworked professional. The floor matting is thick semi-absorbent foam, akin to the stuff a baby could crawl on, great for your feet, which is important because you'll be kicking the bags barefoot. The bags are full-size, they drag the foam, something I generally prefer to UFC Gym (but the benefits are debatable). Workouts run the gamut, but the average routine involves a mix of bag work, stations, ab routines and virtually no stretching. Best you arrive early and get yo'self limber before the lesson. And dig it: participants are asked to clean up after their own mess after the punishment is dealt, just a squirt bottle and a towel. I've said it before and I'll say it again: I'm a sweaty bastard, I give a new definition to someone who can make it rain. Here, I also clean up my dollahs. Aside from the classes, there's a boxing ring (ground level) and a grappling arena, there's plenty of instruction for those who want to take the plunge. They offer two free classes for the newbies so you have no excuse, go check it out. One bathroom, something of a downer, and a lot of the square footage is occupied by a front desk area that probably should be half the size to accommodate more equipment. Overall, I return to the opening paragraph theme: this is the place where ABQ's next big thing will train, compete and ultimately find fame. The gym absolutely bleeds Eye of the Tiger. Go check it out, and don't get discouraged if your first workout doesn't do the trick. Try another. I did and I'm hurtin'.
