A week ago, I purchased items. After paying for said items, I realized I was charged the wrong prices. The kind employee reimbursed me, or so I thought, then charged me the correct prices. Gentle reader, strap in: we're about to go on a journey. One week later, I had still not been reimbursed (so, charged twice: once for too much, once for correct price). I call and am told to come in, in person, with my receipts, to correct the mistake. I drove there. In person, I was told "oh, no, sorry, you need to call Staples Corporate." For a $58 return! What kind of store can't process a return IN THE STORE. Every time I interact with them, the pile of papers I have gets longer: it is now two receipts stapled together and one series of "Staples Corporate" phone numbers to try on Monday when they open. DON'T SHOP HERE. The prices on the shelves are not the prices in the system. They cannot process reimbursements in the store. There are two human beings running the entire place. read more

It's great when employees are outgoing and helpful . That's what we experienced today. The staff we interacted with were upbeat. I needed printer paper, picked some and as I was heading towards the register, an employee came up to us and asked if we had the staples app. If so there's a coupon to save on our paper. He made sure we got it and found the coupon - worth about 25% off. They can do all the paperwork for TSA pre check, some passport services and a myriad of electronic devices plus the expected office & school supplies. But employee attitude made this stop a good one. read more

I found myself in a tight spot while trying to obtain my poster for the Gallup Human Trafficking Task Force. Our prints were not due to be printed until April 28th. Fortunately, Canva offered me the option to pick up the posters from a location since I had to fly into Albuquerque and drive to Gallup. Unable to wait until Sunday and forced to take a detour to Gallup due to a railroad accident, it seemed like everything was unraveling. However, Chyleen and Deisy came to my aid and expedited our printing to the afternoon of April 27th. Their kindness and willingness to work with me brought me great relief. Tripled pricing on a service that I had done for the last two plus years. Raised it by over two hundred dollars from what was a $100-$150 job before. I was obviously upset and was wrong in responding "I've been coming here from 15 plus years and y'all are treating me like this. F--- y'all." I should not have cursed. However the response of the General Manager was on steroids then. He threatened to fight me and beat me up. Threw multiple F-bombs at me, "F you old man" etc. Yes I am an older man, not a fighter, and had been loyal to this brand for many years. The printing department is absolutely terrible. I'm pretty sure the guy working the counter didn't know what he was doing. The "GM" was also behind the counter and he was just as useless. They were telling me my files were not formatted properly. I reformatted everything like they asked and they still could not print. I literally drove to the Office Depot on cutler and they printed my things in less than five minutes. The files were fine. The incompetence at this staples is unreal. Not to mention, Office Depot was cheaper for the exact same thing. Not a surprise that this franchise is going bankrupt. read more

When businesses decided they would no longer invest in inventory the retail experience changed in our economy. the business model had always been that a store invested in inventory putting product on the shelf and the customer bought product and went. Now businesses don't invest in inventory and expect to make a profit NOT offering product to the customer. Now we have to order online IF the web site works on the version of browser we can run on our not the latest and fastest computer and provide personal information that we shouldn't have to and waste all day waiting for a mickey mouse delivery company to deliver. Wanted to buy a chair mat. Drove 25 miles to the closest Staples. Told them I wanted to buy a chair mat, pay for it, and pick it up when it arrived at the store from the local warehouse. They said I had to register online , give then an email address, and they could order the mat. I'm standing in the store with money in my hand after driving 25 miles and I HAVE TO ORDER ONLINE? How STUPID is that? Called Staples customer service and they were happy to take my order but they would ship by some lower tier carrier and I would have to wait all day for them to arrive. FREE shipping isn't FREE if I have to waste an entire day of my time waiting on a delivery truck. Businesses today think customers exist for THEIR convenience and Staples along with Walmart lead the pack in abusing and disrespecting customers. Just order from Amazon. Amazon won't treat you any better but they invest in stocking product at their fulfillment centers and use first tier shipping carriers. High quality and reasonably priced for lightning-fast copying. Keep in mind that we were in such a hurry that price became the lowest priority, and speediness became the top. The person who answered the phone when we needed to verify that it could done quickly was very helpful, as were the employees in the store. One star for corporate policies that dictate how the documents are handled, which forced my colleagues to use their computers at a hefty charge of $7.50 for 24 minutes. At that kind of price, the quality and speed needs to be good, but there's a reason my poor colleagues had to use 24 minutes. Is this your way of gouging the customers? read more

I found everything needed (and more) for a fun poster board project--including marquee lights! I loved the tons of sale items. The store was organized and everything I saw was priced clearly. They definitely had EVERYTHING on my kids school supply list. That was a relief. I'll be coming to Staples for that every year from now on. Much better than going to Hell-Mart....I mean Wal-Mart. I ordered a laser printer drum unit from Staples on Wednesday June 16, based on the "Free next day delivery" note on the website. However, when I checked out, it then said delivery on Friday June 18th. Then, the delivery company, Watco, claimed the business to which it was supposed to be delivered was closed when they tried to deliver it. But the business doesn't close until 6 pm. Now, they say that the item won't be delivered until Monday, because apparently Watco doesn't work on weekends! I am extremely unhappy about this and feel like it is a bait & switch situation. I will never order from Staples again or use Watco for any reason. read more

Most recently, the manager Brian and Amber helped me when my keyboard/ mouse went out 2 hours before a very important Board meeting. They replaced everything with so much speed and kindness, I was early to the meeting and able to relax before going in. They saved me and my company thousands of dollars. Like any big box chain store, Staples has products needed for any office, from little hand wipes to large desks and cabinets. My time at this store, was meh, their products were neatly shelved and knowing that, I grabbed a file box thinking it was $6 as shelved, and turned out to be $15. After returning it, grabbed another one priced $10, turned out to be $15 again. I didn't complain at the time, but it made me aware that, although your store looks clean and uncluttered, it was not kept well. The employees are a hit and miss, like every corporate chain, the first cashier didn't acknowledge me, as I was just another shadow walking through the store with shiny money, and just needed me to be out ASAP. The second cashier who helped was very kind though, so that erased my memory of the first, when returning mis-priced items. I will be back, but only for return, and not an exchange. read more

I'm amazed this store doesn't have better reviews. I've now been there twice in two days and have been consistently impressed with their level of customer service. I was there for my second visit, yesterday, after a multi-function printer I ordered from Amazon had to be returned--and after I spent WAAAAY too many hours over the course of two days trying to make it work. I was, therefore, not in a great mood by the time I went on-line to purchase a new printer and some other supplies that were available for the one-hour pick-up. I should not have worried. As soon as I walked in the store, I was greeted by a friendly and helpful member of the staff who went out of her way to make certain I was getting the service I needed. She referred me over to an assistant manager who fulfilled my order and even brought my purchases out to my car. He gave me some excellent information about my printer, including information about the toner cartridges and how to go about registering it and my warranty. Being new to Albuquerque, I found his knowledge and courtesy extremely helpful. This will be my go-to office supply store for as long as I'm in the area. read more

Holy cow. I usually don't write reviews on non food related things but this copy center is awful. The staff running the copy center has no idea what they are doing. All I needed was 1 picture printed from an email. There was one person in line when I walked up and somehow it took about half an hour to get to me. Once it was my turn, they told me it would take 30 more minutes. They didn't even touch anything related to my order for an extremely long time. They continued to take guests and said "oops I forgot" when I reminded them. Then after the half an hour I come back and it is printed completely wrong. It is way way way too big on wrong size paper, not centered, and rotated in the wrong direction. The customers were all over the place in line and the employees had no organization. They were nice. But it did not make up for the rest of the very bad experience. read more

Don't go to Montgomery. Walked in and not one person said hello or offered to help me, the employees saw me walk in but just looked at me. Couldn't find what I needed so I left and went to Menaul. Idk if she was a manager on duty or what, unfortunately I didn't catch her name but the moment I walked in, this woman was just so kind and quick to help, she was wearing a gray shirt (everyone else was in red) this woman was a prime representation of quality customer service. AVOID STAPLES. I mean, any Staples. Awful place. Very rude employees. Never ready to help. There are always more than 5 of them around. You will have to wait a while for anyone to help you. PLUS, Staples charge more than twice as much for the same product sold at other places. Even with their ink recycle coupons, you still end up paying more than other places. Go somewhere else. The way they price things does not make sense. I was once trying to buy CD cases there. A 50 pack paper CD sleeves is priced at $5.99. Then I saw this 100 pack paper CD sleeves (same brand). I figured it must be cheaper to buy one 100 pack (there is no price tag). I picked it up and went ahead to check out. I used my coupon. It turned out the 100 pack was priced at $12.99. Does this make any sense??????? I found out during check out and refuse to sign. The cashier tricked me to go ahead and sign it so I can return the product and swamp it with two 50 packs. I did it But, wahhhlaaaahhhh, too bad, after I signed, i can not return b/c i used my coupon!!!!! Yes, not much money, but it shows they do tricks like this. I went to the Staples copy department yesterday just after noon to get two copies made of a 36 page document. I didn't squabble about the $13 price, which was a little excessive, as they had it done in 10 to 12 minutes. The kid put my copies in a bag, I paid and I was on my way. When I got home and actually looked at the finished product, I was appalled at how the pages were put together, like a kindergartner had tried to square them up without much success. And then I discover that they didn't even use a heavy duty stapler on my 36-page documents. The legs of the staples were sticking out the back of the copies which would cause a person to scratch themselves if they tried to pick it up wrong. Seriously? A professional copy center does not have a heavy duty stapler? So then I start reviewing the two copies, highlighting the same notes that were highlighted in my original, only to discover that page 24 was missing from both copies! What the heck is going on there? I thought this was a professional copy center? I will never take anything there to get it copied again. Very sloppy work. read more

Nothing exciting here at staples. I went to staples to mail an envelope and the charge was going to be +$12! No one acknowledged me as i walked in. The store is cold, dull looking and has a staff full of zombies. I understand that working in an office supply store wouldn't be very exciting but it seems to fit the employees. Over charged everything. On the plus side they do have a nice little very expensive shipping and copying area. Although I was the only one standing there, one employee ignored me and continued to decorate his section, the other employee just sat at a computer typing away. After a few minutes of being ignored I said excise me. He lifelless begun finishing his ups service and told me the price. I nearly fainted. This store is seriously in need of changes. This store is convenient to me but I will go outta my way to avoid it. Bought an HP calculator at a different Staples, it was non-working out of the box, returned it to this store within 4 days. I was told "good Luck" and sent on my way no replacement, no refund, no store credit, NADA. BTW total cost to me was $120 including the extended warranty (which, by the way, is no good either I tried to use it). I provided the original receipt and packaging. Amazon has the same item at half the price and I don't have to drive for 2 hours to get to the store. Employees were rude and cocky, evidently they don't need my business, lesson learned. read more

First of all their prices are WAY too high but what really turned me off this place was the young female employee with green eyes working the cash register. She was by far the rudest cashier I've ever had. I would hand her items and she would just grab them. You could tell she did not know how to treat people in general much less be nice to customers. My friend asked her a question about the prices and she rolled her eyes at us and got an attitude. I genuinely don't understand how she was ever hired if she OBVIOUSLY doesn't know how to be a decent human being???
