Heard great things, had to try it on a vacation. Overall, food was good and tasty, if not a little on the pricey side for this type of food. The staff, however, was lacking. They messed up the order, and took over 30 minutes to correct it. They did eventually apologize and refund the messed up order. read more

The tri tip sandwich was delicious the sweet and spicy sauce really was delicious, and the chicken sandwich also delicious. The tri tip has grilled onion and bacon added, oh it was so very tasty but a 9 incher cost me 9 bucks boo. I ordered three of the four sides, especially for YELP. The rosemary fries I think are store bought , deep fried and sprinkled with green flakes of something (not drugs). The sweet potato fries are crinkle fries... once again store bought and sprinkled with white flakes (not drugs). Those two were a huge disappointment to me. Now the Mac N Cheese was divine. very cheesy and the noodles were soft and everything just was a perfect creamy mix of heaven and it wasn't overpriced. Get it! (My second visit the mac n cheese had changed, sub par) Definitely a place to hit up when you have a chance, just order wisely. The fries are not worth it in my opinion. read more

Cubby's was bomb. A friend of mine said its a Utah staple so I had to try it!! I got the 6in tri-tip steak sandwich with spicy BBQ sauce which was made to perfection! The roll was nice and soft, possibly home made haha I couldn't tell. The meat was very tender and they weren't stingy about it either, they definitely give a good amount. The toppings like the caramelized onions and spices were an excellent touch not only in flavor but in texture. As expected of a fully stuffed sand which, it was kind of messy trying to eat but it was loaded with so much goodness I can't complain. My only critique would be that the spicy BBQ wasn't spicy enough for me and my friend. Maybe they can have a mild BBQ and a spicy BBQ for the heat seekers. I would definitely come back again and again cause this place was so good. Side note: as a person trying to watch their diet, hopefully Cubby's can get a nutrition menu up for the folks who want to know what they're eating. read more

The food is good, but I came on here to write this review because I have a serious recommendation for the cubby's owners. The CHAIRS ARE SO LOUD. The screeching noise they make when they move is so unsettling and disturbing that I I don't even want to eat inside, you hear it every 10 seconds so I'd rather take my food to go. Maybe there some little tiny pads you can stick to the bottom of each of the legs to make it not so loud. read more

The kale apple wild rice salad with chicken added is Pretty expensive but I would say worth it and can last a couple meals

we came in on a Saturday night and got a to-go order which included a jal ranch quesadilla and a small side of macaroni and cheese. we got our food and came home, only to realize the macaroni and cheese was missing. they never put it in our bag, or even let us know to wait even longer that for it to be ready. we were extremely disappointed, as the signature macaroni and cheese was the whole reason we had chosen cubby's. additionally, my jal ranch quesadilla was supposed to come with jalapeño ranch on the side, and it did not. i paid premium price for what was essentially a normal quesadilla. when we called cubby's to ask where our macaroni and cheese was, the girl who answered the phone was extremely rude and kept having us repeat what we were saying. extremely unprofessional. i used to like cubby's for its food, but the customer service and lack of quality control make it a loss. read more

Okay. Their sweet potato fries are AMAZING! They are the reason I go to Cubby's. So far I haven't really found a main menu item that I'm crazy about. They are good, just nothing I crave. In a desolate desert of mediocre restaurants, Cubby's is a welcoming oasis for the foodies of the Utah Valley. I have tried almost everything on the menu and have never left anything short of impressed. I recommend the tri-tip salad or rip city tri-tip sammich because the meat has amazing flavor and is unbelievably tender. They marinate their meat for 3 days and then slow roast it. Other favorites are the cockadoodledoo and the dragon slayer. If you're feeling adventurous and want to try something new, definitely try the Mr. Beef. It has a uniquely delicious flavor and after a while you will find yourself craving it. The fries are always amazing. Salads are fresh and delicious. Eat here. Prices are a little steep, but for the quality of food, it is well worth it. Food = 5, by far and away some one of the best food experiences in Provo! Atmosphere = 5, Hipster wood-paneled walls and flat screen tvs create an eclectic ambiance. Price = 5, a little over-priced, but based on the quality of ingredients and the amount of time that goes into prepping the food, totally worth it! OMGosh, they serve great juicy hamburgers. I love that their meats are grass fed and free range. I order a simple plain basic hamburger which is the healthiest. They do have other hamburgers that are full of flavors you can order that has blue cheese, bacon, cheese, etc. I go eat there once a month. The past two times I've been to Cubby's I've been ripped off. The first time I ordered the California steak sandwich and asked for sauce on it and they charged me $1 for it. When I got my sandwich and it had barely any sauce on it, I went back and asked if I could get some more sauce since I paid extra for it. One of the workers started arguing with me about how sauce doesn't cost extra. If that was the case, he should have gave me my dollar back. Instead, he wasn't giving me more sauce that I paid for and he wasn't giving me my money paid. My most recent visit I got a beet salad and added tri tip to it. The salad was about $14 by itself. When I got my salad it had barely any toppings or steak on it, just a bunch of lettuce. I had to ask twice for them for them to put some more toppings on it for it be worth what I was paying. Don't recommend going there if you don't want to be ripped off. Would rather have bought myself two chipotle burritos for the price of my salad. read more

So let's just talk about here for a bit. Cubbys "Chicago Beef" is great. Nothing more to be talked about. That being said, let me explain my rating. I don't think it deserves 5/5, but it's still a damn good, and solid place to eat. My regulars are: Tri Tip Steak Salad, Rosemary Fries. Such great taste, and he fries are to die for. SOMETIMES the fries can be a bit salty, but what's new. That being said, 4/5 rating. Back to that, it's a good place but it doesn't blow me off my feet. This is long overdue! Cubbies is a staple that keeps on giving! The quality and flavor of the menu items is genuinely amazing! (Spoiler: you gotta try the whole menu!) I've been coming here since it opened and to be honest my first few visits did not make much of an impact on me. I started with the beef (it's in the name and when I try new places I usually go with the house specialty). It was good, but I was certainly not wowed. Well let me tell you when I expanded to the chicken, salads and burgers my eyes were opened and I've been in love ever since! Don't get me wrong, the Tri tip and Mr. beef are good, but it's not where my heart is. For example, I tried the portobello sandwich a week ago and I was blown away! The taste was outstanding! I would go vegetarian for that sandwich! (or just enjoy it as I am) Recommendations: Cockadoodledoo chicken sandwich, Houdini Burger, Portobello sandwich and rosemary fries. And their sweet BBQ sauce, dip everything in it! (I could drink it) I love the environment, the wood & steel furnishing and the cheerful and helpful staff! I recommend them as well! Tried this place for the first time today. I ordered the tri tip salad and the Gypsy. On the Gypsy the only good part was the meat and bun were a good quality. The bbq sauce was weak and sweet which they should have balanced out with a pickle or crispier patty. The bacon seemed like a poor quality. The onions were not Caramelized enough to pair with the bbq sauce. On the Tri Tip Salad the steak wasn't seasoned at all making it bland. The lemon Cilantro vinaigrette had a touch to much cilantro to taste. The other aspects of the salad worked together but the vinaigrette flavor and steaks blandness didn't make it a 4 star salad. The meal was also pretty price in comparison with other restaurants I've been to which have better burgers and salads. read more

The owner of Cubby's sent me a gift card in the mail after my 3 horrible experiences here. Since then I have gone a few times more and been very happy. They really do serve high quality and fresh food. When their tri-tip sandwich is made correctly it is absolutely delicious. Cubby's is a 5 star place and there is no denying that. The owners response is proof of his absolute confidence in his food. He knows he serves great stuff and you know what....he's totally right. Great mac and cheese and great fries and sides. Just overall a quality place to eat once they make your food right. I still maintain my opinion about Cubby's being expensive. Don't confuse expensive with overpriced, because it is not overpriced. It's all priced fairly, but if you want a full meal it will be $15+. At a fast casual place, that hurts. They do some things I don't agree with. Like they toast the buns on both sides, making for a mouth-stabbing, dry bread experience. Just toast one side please. There are other things but they are all personal preferences and not reflections on the business itself. I'll be back as long as my food is hot and cooked! read more

This place. It seems to have quite a following, and I can understand why. The burgers are good, the sweet potato fries are to die for, and the atmosphere is clean and tasteful. We were greeted by a nice young man who took our order promptly and accurately. I was a little sad that we waited a while for our food, but once it came it was well prepared and tasteful. The burgers were a little overcooked for my liking, more of a well done than medium-medium well range, but not everything can be perfect in life. Honestly, I have always enjoyed cubbys. Never had anything too big to complain about but this weekend I went and ordered the tri tip sandwich. I was starving so I ordered the big dog. The cashier girl confirmed and said big dog? I said yes. Then I paid about $10 and some change. I get my food a little while later and it is the regular size (which is not nearly enough food when I am starving). I go back to the counter and say I ordered a big dog. The lady that took my order proceeds to argue with me and say I only paid for a regular size and then just stared at me saying nothing else! She even confirmed that I said big dog, so it was her fault I got the wrong sandwich. $12 for a big dog is overpriced in my opinion, over $10 for a sandwich half that size is way overpriced, and the way the employee treated me after that was extremely rude. I always love the flavor of food here. Great ingredients and the sweet potato fries and dipping sauce is heavenly. However, Parking lot is always a nightmare and food takes a moment to come out. Burger sizes are pretty small. The salads on the other hand, are great but they kind of skimp on meat servings. Other than that. This place sucks. We paid almost $50 for 2 burgers, a Mac and cheese and some drinks. We had high expectations for this place because of how much we spent. Highly disappointed! The fries were freezing cold (they tasted like cold McDonald's fries). The burger had no seasoning or taste to it, and the mocha shake tasted so weird.. it tasted nothing like mocha. I am not sure why people come here. But we will not be returning again. I recommend eating anywhere else cause this place is not worth it!!! read more
