El Cubano

Cubano Bros operates a small stand located in the French Market; therefore, there isn't much to the ambiance. The service is good; however, I have missed them on several occasions due to them closing early. I recommend calling first to ensure that they are open prior to going there before closing hours. The food and coffee are great! I have had the culato several times and it is always on point! My son and I tried the Cubano sandwich today and we both enjoyed it. The bread was crisp, and the meat was flavorful and fresh. There was more mustard than I've had on other cubanos, but it wasn't bad. I was content with the size of the sandwich. It was a little pricey at $11 a sandwich; yet, it was cheaper and more filling than 90 miles Cuban cafe. I will definitely be back for a culato and to try their breakfast cubano.

This is a very special find. So I come back from Miami it is near impossible to kill that Cuban goodie craving. This place is legit! It is another small yet stellar place to eat in Chicago French Market. El Cubano is the best in the chi-town and surrounding area. Bread is crispy on the outside and cloud-like on the inside. The ham, the roasted pork, the mustard, the pickles..spot on. As is the coffee so if you want to break the routine of morning go-to coffees, you better go on and get that hot café con leche, colado, or cortadito, you won't regret it. Then there are the pastelitos, addictive and just like the ones I had in a Little Havana bakery. That sharp and creamy combo of guava and cheese in flakey pastry works so well. I'm hearing stories and seeing articles that say their dough is shipped from Miami, thats awesome. Gotta try the ropa vieja and lechon asado bowls...plus they serve breakfast here too so i will be coming back, no doubt.

Excellent Cuban sandwich.

Located in the French market by ogilvie. $14.92 for a Cuban and a bottle of water- not terrible price for the area. Walk up to the counter and order. No seating there but I got it for the train ride home. Excellent Cuban bread. Just the right amount of meat for me. Will definitely get again. Friendly fast service.

We have been searching for a tasty Cuban sandwich and everywhere else around has fallen short. Cubano Bros is where it's at! We ordered the El Cubano and man was it good!! Their bread is made fresh and you can tell by the crispy outside and soft interior. They have the perfect amount of ingredients between these two slices of bread packed with tons of flavor. We'll be back for sure!!

We stopped in the French Market for lunch and Cubano Bros was one of the stalls open for business. We decided to try their El Cubano sandwich since they had a sign stating Steve Dolinsky liked it. The sandwich was huge! 75% of the sandwich was more than enough for me. I thought the sandwich was good and probably the most authentic in comparison to other Cubano sandwiches that I've had. That being said I don't think I loved it as much as Steve Dolinsky.

This is a new addition to the French market and a very welcome addition. Great cafe con leche, modest and efficient service. It appears they offer a lot more than just coffee, as outlined on the menu. However since they just opened they didn't seem to be a lot of food available that particular day.

I'm a big fan of cubanos so when I heard about this place at the French Market, I knew I had to visit. Their bread was pressed thin, but maintained a very crispy crust. The meat was tender and very flavorful, the cheese was perfectly melted and their was just enough mustard and pickle. Overall, a good sandwich. I normally would never say this, but I would have preferred a little bit more bread to even out the proportion of meat. This cubano was definitely heavy on the meat. I tried to be good and just eat half the sandwich, but I gave in and ate the entire thing. Ooooof.

Love love LOVE this spot. Their Café con Leche is absolutely phenomenal!!!! Best coffee I've ever tasted. Creamy and a bold taste. Cuban Ham Breakfast Sandwich is so delicious as well. Ooey gooey cheese spills out of this perfectly concocted sandwich with a toasty Cuban bread. Awesome service and a reasonable wait time for a great breakfast. Definitely recommend!!

[Cubano Bros] Amazing Cuban sandwiches, got the El Cubano. The bread was a perfect mix of crunch and soft which initially I was biased thinking their bread was going to be too hard and crispy however it was so good

With a cozy locals vibe, there was a mix of young professionals on laptops and families starting the morning. The bright aesethics of Mexican heritage and decor celebrating local artists make the space inspiring and energizing. The coffee was great. I got the horchata latte, which tasted even better than I hoped. I also ordered a El Chavo Torta, a deceptively simple sandwich that was incredibly delicious. I don't know what they put in the bread or what magical place they bought the cheese from, but my mouth is watering just thinking about it. When I'm in Chicago again, La Malinche is on my list of must visit spots.

The staff were really welcoming, for an early morning. I got the hot chocolate. Honestly that's exactly what I needed that morning. It had that real Mexican chocolate taste. Thick, creamy, smooth and rich. The cinnamon came through warm but not too strong, plus a little extra on top that hit your nose before the first sip. Sweet and it almost had this slight earthy note too... hard to explain but good. It even had that little design on top, like the ones they do on cappuccinos. Didn't expect that but it was cool. I finished it slow. Didn't wanna rush it. Just sat there taking small sips and enjoying it while it was still hot.

Set in an old warehouse that is now an art gallery event space and restaurant nestled in an older warehouse district in Bridgeport neighborhood of Chicago. Beautiful decor and laid out perfectly. The natural wood floors furniture ie tables chairs etc and iron work throughout sets the ambiance for old meets new. It works. The wide spacing between tables makes for a comfortable dining experience. So many folks come in to do their work and dine here. What a super addition to the neighborhood that less than a decade ago was essentially a street that was more a run down semi-truck alley. Great menu with neighborhood favorites leaning toward the old school Italian dishes. Sandwiches, soups, salads, and breakfasts just to name a few are all excellent. The pastries are insane and a must take home deal. I love the American Breakfast. Three eggs your way, thick diced America potatoes, thick cut bacon, and sourdough toast. Accompanied by what I believe to be home made jelly and for sure homemade gardiniera. Caruso's gardiniera actually. Diced into a relish unlike most standard gardiniera it's easier to eat with many dishes. Excellent flavor and just the right kick to it. FYI Dolce Arte also sells a to go line of homemade Caruso products from their gardiniera to past and past sauces and more. Yes, their coffee is really good too. Lavazza products I believe. The service is always on point. Casual but on point. Very friendly staff from diverse backgrounds. This is the place you bring people close to you, business lunches, meetings, formal ir informal, or like me, save it for myself as my own getaway spot. It's an artists dream and sets a positive time for any gathering.
